  • Meghan Trainor Isn’t Sharing Her Booty With Anyone, At Least Not Yet

Meghan Trainor may be “All About That Bass,” but she’s not at all about putting it out there for everyone to see. Known–in addition to her songs–for not wearing provocative outfits during her performances, she said recently her booty won’t be shared with just anyone.

“I was told that I started the booty song movement but no one knows what my booty looks like,” she said during a recent interview. “That’s the trick, it’s all about the mystery. I save that for my boy. Well, for whoever gets to date me one day.”

“I don’t like pointing it out, I don’t know why. I like to keep that a secret for my future hubby,” she added.

While Meghan Trainor didn’t go so far as to say she was ‘saving herself for marriage,’ she does indicate a high level of self-respect that is very often absent in many of today’s young entertainers.

When she signed with Epic Records last February she made it quite clear that there were some things she simply wasn’t going to do.

“I told them you won’t see me in a bathing suit. I love when Beyonce and all those girls were those body suits but I don’t like showing the vagina area,” she said. “I did wear a little body suit in the ‘All About That Bass’ video but I was so uncomfortable.”

Even though Meghan Trainor maintains a respectful amount of modesty, she doesn’t point fingers at or pass judgment against those who don’t.

“Everyone gives Ariana Grande crap now for being too sexy but I think she’s classy with it and if you’ve got it then rock it,” she said. “I know what I’ve got and I know which of my area’s to rock, which I do, so I don’t wanna bend over in a bathing suit on stage.”

Kudos to Meghan Trainor for her high standards and nonjudgmental ways. The “Lips Are Movin’” singer is already a great role model in the body image category. It seems like she’s a pretty good role model all the way around for today’s young girls.

  • Bindi Irwin: Part of A New Movement?

Bindi Irwin: Part of A New Movement?

Bindi Irwin ignited a debate recently which started with an interview with News Corp Australia. She spoke of modesty and how girls her age should cover up and just be who they are.

Bindi Irwin, who will be 16 next month, said this of her peers that bare too much, “I’m a big advocate for young girls dressing their age. I mean, for me, I look around at a lot of young girls that are my age and they’re always trying to dress older. Whether it’s wearing revealing clothes or hardly wearing any clothes at all, I feel really bad for them. It kind of has the opposite effect in some ways … it kind of does the opposite where it makes you look younger and like you’re trying too hard.”

The daughter of Steve Irwin, the late Crocodile Hunter, and Terri Irwin seems to be the next sign of a trend that is seeing more young women covering up, being themselves, and leading a more simple life.

The trend Bindi Irwin is riding involves those like Duck Dynasty star Sadie Robertson, Preacher’s Daughters star Kolby Koloff, and the Duggar daughters from 19 Kids & Counting.

The movement toward a more subtle and confident self for teenage girls is a breath of fresh air for the girls that are coming into that age (and a relief for those of us with pre-teen daughters). It seems that the days of seeing just how brash and nasty a girl can be, lead by the likes of Miley Cyrus and Lady Gaga, are starting to fade and some would call that a good thing.

So where does Bindi Irwin, who admits she has an 86-year-old soul, get her inspiration to just be herself and enjoy the lack of pressure to out-raunch her peers?

“To be able to have that outlook on life is such a blessing,” Bindi said. “I’ve gotten that from my mum especially. The way I choose to dress, I want to influence other people around me, I suppose.”

“I love a cup of tea and a good book and none of that [other stuff] really interests me… I guess growing up at [the] Australia Zoo and getting to travel all over the world, I have this great outlook on life and that’s what I hope I inspire other kids to have.”

I think Bindi Irwin’s stance has encouraged many young girls out there to just be who they are and, despite the over-reaction and backlash she received for her honesty, Bindi Irwin will be an inspiration to a generation of girls searching for a simple solution for the question of how they should be.

Do you agree or disagree with her stance?
