  • Netflix Orders New Comedy Series from Arrested Development Creator

Netflix Orders New Comedy Series from Arrested Development Creator

Arrested Development creator Mitch Hurwitz is signed on to executive produce a new comedy series for Netflix. No, it’s not a new season of Arrested Development – though that’s likely happening in the near future.

Hurwitz is producing a 30-minute, single-camera comedy starring comedian Maria Bamford. It’s called Lady Dynamite and is “based on what Bamford has accepted to be ‘her life.’ The occasionally surreal episodes, refracted across multiple periods inspired by her life, tell the story of a woman who loses – and then finds – her shit.”

Bamford has worked with Netflix before, debuting her comedy special Maria Bamford: The special special special! back in May.

The Hollywood Reporter says the Hurwitz and Pam Brady (South Park) wrote the pilot, and Brady will showrun.

As with most of Netflix’s originals, the first season will contain 13 episodes.

In other Netflix comedy news, the company just ordered a new series from Two and a Half Men showrunners Don Reo and Jim Patterson. It’s called The Ranch, and will star Ashton Kutcher and Danny Masterson.

Apart from being a That ’70s Show reunion, The Ranch will be a first for Netflix – a 20-episode season that’s split into two 10-episode arcs, both airing inside a year.

  • ‘Arrested Development’ To Get Another Season…4 [Netflix Originals]

‘Arrested Development’ To Get Another Season…4 [Netflix Originals]

It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything new about Arrested Development, which as of Season 4, is considered a Netflix Original.

Last we heard, a Season 5 was “definitely” in the cards. Will Arnett, who plays GOB on the show, confirmed this on The Tonight Show a couple months ago after Netflix content chief Ted Sarandos was quoted as saying he was “positive” another season was coming.

“The truth is that the guy who is the big boss man at Netflix – he announced this…it’s gonna happen,” Arnett said. “We don’t know when, but it is gonna happen.”

Things have been pretty quiet on the Arrested front lately, but now creator Mitch Hurwitz has provided some news. Unfortunately it’s not about Season 5 or the long-anticipated movie, but about Season 4. He’s re-cutting it. He told Pretentious Film Majors (via Uproxx):

“Right now, I’m cutting a version of season four that tells it chronologically.”

It’s unclear if the re-edited version would appear on Netflix or become available by DVD or some other means.

As you may know, Season 4 was constructed in an entirely different way than previous seasons, which might be part of the reason it wasn’t quite as well received as the others. While many still found it enjoyable, few would probably rank it as the best season. It could be interesting to see how it plays in the more traditional format.

  • Netflix Signs ‘Arrested Development’ Creator Mitch Hurwitz For More Shows

Netflix and Arrested Development creator really haven’t made any secret for their fondness of one another. After all, Netflix was the one to finally bring back the beloved show after years of false hopes. Both parties have suggested that they’ll be working together on more Arrested Development. We just don’t know when it will come.

The two have partnered up again, however, with Netflix giving Hurwitz a multi-year deal for the creation and production of new original shows for the company through The Hurwitz Company. According to reports, Hurwitz will also work with other creators in an executive producer role on some projects.

Hurwitz’s previous writing credits include episodes of Running Wilde, Sit Down Shut Up, The Ellen Show, The John Larroquette Show, and The Golden Girls.

Here are quotes from Netflix content chief and Hurwitz respectively (via Deadline):

“We are lucky to be in business with Mitch Hurwitz, a true genius with one of the most distinctive voices in comedy today. Mitch’s inventive approach to Arrested Development — one of the top TV comedies of this generation — was ahead of its time, and we’re fortunate to have him on our team.”

“It is incredibly inspiring to get to produce for Netflix, a company that not only doesn’t resist change but is leaps and bounds ahead of everyone in forging it. The fact that I’m also getting one month of their streaming right to my TV or Xbox free … well, it really takes the sting out of buying that Xbox.”

The news was not brought up when Netflix released its earnings report and letter to shareholders on Monday, nor was it mentioned on the earnings call. It’s unclear when we might actually see any fruits from the deal.

The letter did, however, give a broad overview of what to expect the rest of this year, and into next.

May 30th will see the launch of Derek: Season 2, followed by Orange is the New Black: Season 2 on June 6th. Hemlock Grove: Season 2 will come on July 11th, and then on unspecified dates, we’ll see BoJack Horseman and the final six episodes of The Killing debut this summer.

2015 will see more kids series from Netflix’s partnership with DreamWorks Animation, and new shows like Marco Polo, a psychological thriller from the creators of Damages, Daredevil, Sense 8, and Narcos.

  • ‘Arrested Development’ Movie Could Be Just For Netflix, According to Jason Bateman

We’ve been hearing about a possible Arrested Development movie for years, and since the launch of Season 4 on Netflix, creator Mitch Hurwitz has been hinting that the next chapter for the Bluth family would indeed come in the form of a movie. This week, Hurwitz talked to Rolling Stone, and said he’s currently writing it.

Now, Deadline has an interview out with star Jason Bateman, who talks a little about it (among other things). It sounds like it’s still up in the air in terms of whether the movie would come to theaters or just to Netflix. Here’s an excerpt from what Bateman had to say:

So it’s a three act saga Mitch wants to tell. He took the first act out of the script and put it in these Netflix episodes. What I understand is that it’s going to be a two-hour movie for theatrical distribution or for Netflix. This will (feasibly) allow the cast to be on the screen at the same time and get around all those contractual barriers that prevent other cast members from appearing on other shows. Maybe that will be in the next year or so. My original pitch was to do a Michael Apted 7 Up thing where every seven years we check in with the Bluths to see where they are at.

Hurwitz has indicated that Fox, which owns the franchise (even though they canceled it years ago), has been the main hold-up. They have to get the greenlight from Fox before they can actually make this thing, and certainly many details will still have to be worked out.

Either way, Netflix has made it clear that it would lend its full support to whatever format Hurwitz wants to pursue. Interestingly, in the Rolling Stone interview, Hurwitz said that he’s also working on another unspecified project for Netflix.

Netflix’s Arrested Development episodes are currently up for three Emmys. When asked if he was surprised it didn’t get more nominations, Bateman said it wasn’t surprising after the mixed reviews the season got, but implied that reviewing the season is like reviewing the first 20 minutes of a movie (see his above “first act” reference).

  • ‘Arrested Development’ Movie Is Being Worked On, Creator Also Working On ‘Something Else’ For Netflix

Remember the days when we kept hearing about an Arrested Development movie that would never happen? You know, back after Fox canceled the show, but way before Netflix announced that it would resurrect it.

Well, the days of hearing about that off and on are back, but things look a lot more promising this time. Arrested Development is no longer simply a discarded television show. It’s a highly-regarded, Emmy-nominated part of Netflix’s big original content push. The fourth season (Netflix’s first) earned three nominations. It also doesn’t hurt that most of its cast members are also now a lot bigger in the industry (Tony Hale has also been nominated for an Emmy separately, for his role on Veep).

Creator Mitch Hurwitz has been talking about wanting to do more, and Netflix has expressed its full support. The next chapter, however, will be a movie, rather than Season 5 (though another season would come after the movie). Hurwitz has been saying for a while now that he wants to do the movie next, but now he has told Rolling Stone that he is actually working on it:

“I’m working on the movie right now. I can’t get into much more detail because I don’t want to scare anybody off. I don’t want to be presumptuous about it. I don’t own the property outright – it’s a 20th Century Fox property. But everybody seems really into it and really eager to make a movie.”

“I’m hoping it happens as soon as possible. But I want to be very careful about not putting out false information. I want to get a time and tell everybody when it’s happening and not play with people. Right now, I’m trying to do something else for Netflix and a movie project and things. I’m always sort of superstitious about talking about this stuff before it happens. It’s the best way to guarantee it doesn’t happen.”

Hurwitz said in a previous interview with Empire that the ball is basically in Fox’s court as far as the movie goes. Obviously we still don’t know how this movie would be released if it actually happens. Will it debut on the big screen? Will it just come to Netflix? We’ll just have to wait and see.

Perhaps even more interesting is what else Hurtwitz is working on with Netflix. We’ll keep you posted if we learn more about that. Running Wilde, another Hurwitz show with Will Arnett and David Cross is currently available to watch on Netflix, but it’s going away on September 1st, so if you want to check that out, you better get to it.

  • ‘Arrested Development’ Movie (Before Season 5) Appears To Be Creator’s Real Goal

Arrested Development creator Mitch Hurwitz really wants to move forward with a movie. That is becoming clearer and clearer with each interview the man gives.

Netflix appears to want to move forward with more Arrested Development regardless of what format it takes, and Hurwitz has indicated that he wants to do a movie next on more than one occasion.

He spoke with Empire for about a half hour on a podcast indicating that everyone (himself, the cast and Netflix) want to do a movie, but Fox, which still owns the property it cancelled years ago, is holding it up. Hurwitz is hoping Fox can be convinced to let it get moving.

Arrested Development movie rumors are nothing new. They have been coming and going for years, since way before Netflix ever picked the show up. Hurwitz spoke with The Guardian about his old plans for the movie:

Speaking of working within constraints, you had to work with each actor separately as their schedules were so packed. In an ideal world, how would you have preferred to do the fourth series?

I actually would have preferred to do the movie. What happened was, by the time I sat down to do the movie, a lot of years had passed and I had a lot of story and so I sat down with Ron Howard. But we could barely get anyone to let us do this movie, it was very hard to get anyone interested in it. The prevailing belief was, the show was cancelled, why would you do a movie? But I had this anecdotal evidence that people were watching the show, but it was totally anecdotal – and of course I’d think people were watching the show.

Even Ron Howard couldn’t get someone to greenlight a movie?

You’d think, but that’s the movie business. So we sat down and he said: “OK, what are you thinking?” And I said: “It needs to be a trilogy.” And he put his head in his hands and said: “I don’t think they’ll do that. How about if you make the first one and then we’ll see.” And I said: “But people then will be disappointed, I want them to know we’ll resolve the story so I want it to be a trilogy.” And he said, “It’s not going to happen.” So I went back to work and it became clear that even if I just spent a little time with each character, there wouldn’t be time in a single movie … So the idea that emerged was this anthology show, one character at a time, completely separate, just little webisodes. Then from there, I started being more ambitious and it became about how they all affect each other. Every problem that arises in the lives of the Bluths was started by another Bluth. It’s completely self-generated. There’s no exterior incident – everything is their fault.

But Hurwitz’ plans for a movie aren’t just old plans. Reiterating his comments from other recent interviews, he told the Guardian, “I hope so,” when asked if he’s doing a movie now.

The fourth season of Arrested Development has already been nominated for three Emmys.

  • Movie Should Be Next For ‘Arrested Development’ If Fox Lets It Happen

It’s looking more and more like the plan for the next chapter of Arrested Development is a movie before a fifth season.

A couple weeks ago, creator Mitch Hurwitz and Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos engaged in a Q&A at the Just For Laughs comedy festival in Montreal. There, Hurwitz was asked if the show would be returning. His response was “definitely.”

Chortle recapped the conversation, including this quote from Hurwitz:

‘I keep thinking about it, and why don’t we do the movie version of this and then do the series, because this series kinda peaks with the story?…I kinda go back and forth between that and a series. But here’s the most important thing, whatever we do, I want to get the cast all together and not do another anthology thing, and that’s why I keep thinking about kicking off with a special or a three-part show and then going into a series.

Empire spoke with Hurwitz for about a half hour in their podcast, in which he spoke about the possibilities, and it sounds like a movie is what we’re most likely going to see next. A movie for Netflix, that is. But the ball is apparently in Fox’s court.

“I think if we do a movie it would probably be with Netflix as some kind of partner,” he says. “I love those guys. I really do. I never had an experience like this…”

It would be interesting to see if this would become a theatrical release or would be simply only available to Netflix subscribers.

Regarding the movie, Hurwitz says, “It’s not definite because it’s not my decision to be…you know, it would be like me saying, ‘I’m definitely going to make a James Bond sequel. I may want to, but other people get to weigh in on that, but I definitely have a plan to in my own brain, and I know the cast is game, and I think Netflix would probably be game…but you know, FOX owns it, so it’s kind of their call…notice how I’m not making a joke at their expense right now? That’s why!”

“One of the reasons I want to do a movie next is because we’ve gotta have all the characters together,” he says. “I mean, by the nature of the story, and the fact that the actors all have other gigs we had to do this kind of separated anthology idea, but from here on in, it’s like the family comes together.”

Regarding season 4, Hurwitz says, “I think it’s been a big success for Netflix. They don’t share those numbers, but I think it’s been very, very successful for them, but I don’t know. It’s certainly been successful with people who found it successful.”

Hurwitz notes during the interview that Sarandos is a “funny guy,” and that when the two of them do panels together, Sarandos usually gets the big laugh. “So, he’s kind of an asshole that way,” Hurwitz joked. “No, he’s a wonderful guy, and they took all sorts of risks with the show, and they embraced it and encouraged it.”

He also mentions that there wasn’t more Buster in the fourth season because HBO wouldn’t let them have him (actor Tony Hale is in the HBO show, Veep).

Season 4 has earned three Emmy nominations.

  • Arrested Development Returning To Netflix Appears To Be ‘Definite’ And ‘Absolute’

Arrested Development Returning To Netflix Appears To Be ‘Definite’ And ‘Absolute’

It was already highly likely that we were going to see Arrested Development come back to Netflix. Both creator Mitch Hurwitz and executives at Netflix have expressed great interest in developing the show further, but nothing has been official.

Well, it’s still not exactly official, but it’s looking like less and less of a question of inevitability.

Chortle reports on a Q&A that Hurwitz and Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos engaged in at the Just For Laughs comedy festival in Montreal. When asked if the show would be returning, Hurwitz reportedly responded with a “definitely.” Chortle recaps:

Then, turning to Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos, he said: ‘I don’t want to get into a whole negotiation right now… but I’ve got a family to feed.’

He added: ‘I keep thinking about it, and why don’t we do the movie version of this and then do the series, because this series kinda peaks with the story?…I kinda go back and forth between that and a series. But here’s the most important thing, whatever we do, I want to get the cast all together and not do another anthology thing, and that’s why I keep thinking about kicking off with a special or a three-part show and then going into a series.

According to the report, Hurwitz then asked Sarandos if he is game for that, to which he reportedly responded, “Absoultely. In any form.”

It seems like another season would be the most satisfying for fans, as it would mean a lot more AD than a two-hour movie (or however long it would actually be), but it might be easier for them to get the cast together for just a movie.

Either way, it sounds like we can expect more Arrested and Netflix will likely be involved.

  • Netflix Just Released A Bunch Of New Arrested Development Videos

Though most hardcore fans of Arrested Development have likely already finished watching season 4, Netflix continues to keep them engaged, offering up various interviews and behind-the-scenes videos. The company just put out eight new ones on its YouTube channel.

Reviews have been mixed, but clearly a lot of fans are happy with the show’s return and want to see more. People are searching for Arrested Development-related terms like crazy, and searches for “season 5” have been spiking, indicating that there is demand for another season.

  • Arrested Development May Have Helped Google Clean Up Its Search Results

Mitch Hurwitz, creator of the hit show Arrested Development, participated in a reddit AMA (ask me anything) today. Here’s what he had to say about the story going forward (which could be a fifth season or a movie).

As we cover both Arrested Development and Google quite a bit, one particular response unrelated to actual ‘Arrested’ news seemed worth highlighting.

Fans of the show know what a “never nude” is. For the rest of you, Tobias Fünke, a character played by David Cross, is one of these. It’s a psychological condition in which he can never bring himself to be nude, so instead, he always wears a minimum of blue-jean cut-offs.

One redditor asked Hurwitz ” if there was any inspiration in real life that led to the idea of Tobias being a Never Nude?”

    His response was this:

No, there wasn’t. The Never Nude thing – I will trace the etiology of that idea, and it’s this. We had this joke that just put us out, that was Tobias keeps crying in the shower. And then I had pitched – I was thinking about production, and the way they shoot those things, they always put people in flesh colored bathing suits, and I said, what if we show part of the flesh colored bathing suits for 3-4 weeks – and then in the 4th week we reveal that he showers in a flesh-colored bathing suit because he doesn’t like showering naked. And then Richie Rosenstock (who’s an absolutely brilliant, hilarious guy – and is responsible for so many of the giant laughs in the show) said without hesitation: “Oh, he’s a Never Nude.”

And everybody in the room froze. And looked at him, and said, “is that a real thing?” and he shrugged, and it was just so funny. It wasn’t a funny idea until Richie called him a Never Nude, which took the joke from being just a sight gag, to a psychological affliction that really elevated it in such a brilliant way. And then I remember looking up to see online if there was such a thing as a Never Nude – and guess what you can’t search for besides finding pornography? “Never Nude” – back then you’d get 25,000 pages with the word “Nude” in it. Even if you used the Boolean quotation marks, you would still get things like “Hot 18 year old who’d NEVER been NUDE in front of a boy!” So we’ll never know if it was a thing before ARRESTED. Although I suppose I could just ask Richie.

He doesn’t specifically mention Google, but this is somewhat amusing given that Google has been going out of its way to hide nudity in image search results in recent months.

  • Arrested Development Creator Is ‘Gathering Up Ammunition’ To Get ‘Next Chapter’ Made

Arrested Development creator Mitch Hurwitz participated in a reddit AMA (ask me anything) this afternoon. Inevitably, the subject of the long-rumored Arrested Development movie came up.

First, before we look at what he had to say about that, let’s recall a recent interview Hurwitz recently did with TV Guide. Discussing the current season (season 4), he said, “There’s a lot in this show that not only refers to later episodes but that also refer to a future story. A lot of what we were doing was setting up a future for this world.”

When asked if that means another batch of episodes is to come, Hurwitz said, “It was important to me that I had a story behind this one that we built to. Whether that ever becomes a feature or a puppet show or a graphic novel or a needlepoint pattern, I’m not sure.”

The point is, he’s got some things in mind for where to take the story next, and that could be more show, a movie, or who knows? Netflix has recently indicated that it would like to do more, so it could very well be that we’ll see Arrested Development Season 5 appear on Netflix similar to the latest season.

Now, onto that reddit AMA. Hurwitz was asked: “Do you think that producing the new season as a prequel to the movie took away from its potential?” and “What can you tell us about the movie?”

    His responses were as follows:

I’m going to try to interpret that question because it could mean a couple things. One version of that question is “Do I think it will hurt the chances that the movie will get made” – and I would say that I’m more interested in telling the ongoing saga of this family than working out a particular strategy for how to do it. I kind of feel like the form will emerge in a way that I wouldn’t have anticipated – like Netflix a few years ago – so it’s possible that a film studio says “There’s a lot of AD out there. Do we want to invest in more” or it’s possible that a film studio says “Wow, we had no idea there was this kind of a following.” And I think the latter scenario is possible. Just because I didn’t think there was that kind of a following! But if your question is “Does the story we’ve told detract from a movie”, I would say it definitely doesn’t, or wasn’t intended to – it was intended to set up (among other things) a murder-mystery and a family that really now has to come together to save one of their own at a moment when their tensions are the highest.

Well what we’re calling the movie is just the ongoing story – so at the moment, there is nothing really up with it, except that I am gathering up ammunition to try to get the next chapter made.

It’s clear that Hurwitz wants to continue to create more Arrested, regardless of what form it takes. Reviews of the current season have been mixed, but there is surely a big enough audience craving more Bluth family fun. Let’s not forget about this show’s history of turmoil, and its incredible journey back into the living room. As with season 4, no doubt getting the cast together will be the biggest challenge. A movie could be easier to pull off, but they made it work this time, so another season doesn’t seem out of the question.

Hurwitz also had this to say about the Netflix model:

…And one of the burdens that network television implicitly has – they’re not allowed to just respect the cleverest in their audience, they have to please everyone. And I think the Netflix model makes it a little more like publishing – there are different books for different people, and still within that world there are top 10 books that are blockbusters, and then there’s fiction that’s not for everybody.

Netflix was amazing. I’ve become very close to the people over there, and they are all really funny, so if they did have suggestions, they were generally pretty funny, great ones – particularly Ted Sarandos, who runs content for them. And they loved the ambition of the show, and encouraged it.

Update: He just answered another question about a fifth season, in which he said:

For the 5th season, it would DEFINITELY be about the family all together. That was always the design. The idea was originally to have them even together LESS for Season 4 – it really was going to be basically 9 stories (like the Salinger collection) that had nothing to do with one another, and just showed everybody’s life, so that everybody’s life could get to a point of peril, and then the family could truly have no choice but to get back together for the next iteration.
Let me put it back to you- which would YOU prefer? Movie or Season?

Update 2: He just opened up a bit more about where the story is going next:

It will definitely continue where we left off – and also, thank you for that because I think that episode is unlike the others in that it really shows a side of Lindsay we haven’t seen before, and it really takes the idea of her superficiality from being a joke to something she really struggles with, and in many ways I feel like it’s the most honest telling of the life of this family. But yes, we will definitely pick her up – she’s left running as a Republican for office, so she is going to play out some ancient high school agendas.
For Michael and George Michael – I think one of the things that is fun to do and also sometimes generates great material (and sometimes doesn’t) is to “paint yourself into a corner” when you’re writing or performing or doing anything creative. And it reminds me of cutting off Buster’s hand. It’s like, what do you do now? And the answer is – a LOT MORE than you’d do without it. So I wanted to get to an honest point in their relationship that was very uncomfortable, so that there wouldn’t be a pat solution, even for me.

Update 3: And a bit more (regarding Lucille Two falling down the stairs):

“That’s one of the abiding mysteries that Film Studios (or Netflix) will have to find valuable enough to discover to fund more of the show. And what’s YOUR theory? I’m truly curious.”

  • Arrested Development Season 5 Already Has Some Story Elements In Place

Now that Arrested Development has made its long-awaited return as a Netflix “semi-original,” fans are wondering if they’ll get more. After all, wouldn’t it be cruel to bring it back for just one season after all those years of not having it?

We’ve seen mixed comments on the prospect of another season from Netflix. Back in February, Netflix CEO Reed Hastings said that the current season would be “a one off” and a “non-repeatable” event, leading the Wall Street Journal to report that there would be “no subsequent seasons”.

But that was months before Season 4 was even released. Things are seeming a great deal more optimistic these days.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Netflix’s Ted Sarandos said, “We would love to do more, and we have a deal in place that says that there could be. The problem is logistics. They (the actors) were all working full-time and doing this show in between, and they did it for the love of the show and for Mitch Hurwitz. If we can muster up that love again, we’d love to do it again. And we have talked openly about a movie scenario, too.”

This week, TV Guide put out an interview with Hurwitz (the show’s creator), in which he revealed that he’s already been setting the stage for a future season (kind of).

“There’s a lot in this show that not only refers to later episodes but that also refer to a future story,” he said. “A lot of what we were doing was setting up a future for this world. I would put the ostriches in that camp.”

When asked if that means another batch of episodes is to come, Hurwitz said, “It was important to me that I had a story behind this one that we built to. Whether that ever becomes a feature or a puppet show or a graphic novel or a needlepoint pattern, I’m not sure. A lot of things [this season] make sense when you rewatch it. Then there are other things that are just set up for something in the future. And then there are other things that are probably just bad writing.”

When asked directly if he would be able to do another season, he said, “I would want to do it again, definitely. It just requires some logistics. I’m sure that could be worked out.”

    That sounds pretty promising.

And even if, for some reason, Netflix didn’t want to get behind another season, Arrested Development could have other options. As the TV Guide interview reminds us, Showtime also attempted to pick up the fourth season of the series.

  • Arrested Development Creator: Binge Watching On Netflix Could Make It Less Fun

Arrested Development’s return via Netflix is only days away (it will be available on Sunday, May 26th), and fans who have been waiting for years are ready to dive in.

Netflix’s exclusive shows have brought about a new trend of “binge watching” (watching the entire season immediately, as opposed to the traditional one episode per week format), but should we really be doing this to ourselves?

While Arrested Development’s new season will indeed be released all at once, the show’s creator, Mitch Hurwitz, warns that viewers who choose to watch it this way may miss out on some of the fun. In an interview with Wired, he said:

“I think of it more like writing a mini-series than something [for] binge watching… I think that people do sit down and watch it all at once. Personally, I think [that] will be very fatiguing and will lose some of the fun of being able to mull on it. But I think that with the majority of binge watchers, it’s a modified binge watching, just like the majority of novel readers. You know, you don’t read it all at once. But you are in control of when you feel like going back to it… I personally hope people don’t sit and watch it for, you know, 500 minutes or longer.”

Don’t underestimate the years of anticipation leading up to this season. Die hard fans who were outraged by the show’s original cancellation have had to wade through rumor after rumor about the show’s return and a possible movie for a long time. The fact that the show is actually back is still shocking to many. While some may choose to take their time and savor it (leaving some time between episodes), my guess is that many of these fans will want to consume it all as quickly as possible, then of course, consume it over and over again.

That is, if Arrested’s return lives up to expectations and the greatness that made fans fall in love with it oh so long ago. We’ll find out soon enough.

Read Wired’s full interview with Hurwitz here.
