  • Teen Missing Four Years Found Behind Fake Wall

A 13-year-old Atlanta-area boy who had been missing for roughly four years was discovered behind a mock wall that was constructed to conceal him. The boy was reunited with his mother on Saturday, according to authorities.

The teen was able to gain access to a phone and contact his mother, which lead police to a house in Jonesboro, Georgia, which is situated 17 miles south of Atlanta. Upon an initial search of the home, police found no evidence of the teen. During a second search conducted hours later, the boy was able to tell his mother exactly where he was being hidden.

Clayton County Police Sergeant Kevin Hughes commented that officers at the scene “discovered him hidden behind a false wall in the interior portion of the home.” Five residents of the house were taken into custody, including the boy’s father, Gregory Jean, 37, and an adult female.

Jean and Samantha Joy face charges of false imprisonment, cruelty to children and obstructing an officer. Three juveniles were also arrested, and charged with obstruction.

The missing teen reunited with his mother, who traveled to Georgia from out of state:

Upon being found, the boy appeared to be in good health, and neighbors said they would see him in the yard often, and that nothing seemed to be wrong.

Here is the home where the teen was found:

Neighbor Julie Pizarro, 37, said that the Jean household just appeared to be quiet, and that she thought the boy was home-schooled. Pizzaro added that she would see the teen working in the yard a lot, and commented, “You can see the yard is immaculate,” she said. “The boy kept it that way.”

The boy went missing in 2010 while visiting his father in Florida.

  • Abigail Hernandez: What Did She Endure?

Abigail Hernandez: What Did She Endure?

When Abigail Hernandez was finally able to return home safely after being gone for nine months, it was a relief for her family.

Still questions remain as to what happened to her during that window of time.

It was recently revealed through attorney Michael Coyne that Hernandez was “violently abducted by a stranger”.

She was last seen on October 9th, 2013 as she was leaving school to return home.

Coyne said that the 15-year-old (she was 14 when first kidnapped), endured “numerous acts of unspeakable violence”.

Because it was not known exactly what happened to her, there were numerous theories as to why she disappeared.

There were rumors claiming Hernandez ran away from home. Some even accused the teen of making the entire abduction scenario up to avoid getting into trouble.

“[T]he real concern is that there’s been […] a lot of hurtful accusations,” said Coyne. “[Hernandez has] got enough to deal with presently physically and emotionally.”

The attorney shared this in a statement posted at Bring Abby Home, a support page created for the teen when she was missing. It was an attempt to clear the air with regard to what she has endured during her time away from home.

34-year-old Nathaniel Kibby was arrested and charged for kidnapping Hernandez, but very little beyond this accusation has been shared with the public.

It was initially believed that more information would be provided this week, but the probable cause hearing has since been pushed back to September.

As concerned members of the public continue to wonder exactly what happened to Hernandez and why, her lawyer has only hinted at the amount of trauma she is believed to have endured.

Said Coyne, “As the justice system moves forward, and the evidence is revealed, questions about this horrific event will be answered.”

The attorney also said that Abby Hernandez needs “time and space to physically and emotionally heal.”

It will no doubt be a long road, but she has the full support of her family and community.

  • Alexandria Chery: Did Mom’s Boyfriend Kill Her?

The body of a decomposing woman was located on Friday near Interstate 4 in Florida.

Orange County law enforcement officials have finally confirmed that it is indeed the body of missing Orlando, Fl. teenager Alexandria Chery.

Orange County Sheriff’s Captain Angelo Nieves knew there was “great anticipation trying to determine if it was Alexandria Chery or not”, but his department wanted to be entirely sure that it was indeed the missing teen’s remains that were discovered.

The authorities worked “slowly and methodically” according to Nieves, making a concentrated effort “to preserve all the evidence that [was] available” in the location where the body was found.

Everything at the scene will play an important role in the effort to bring her killer to justice.

The body was removed from the location and, following a meticulous autopsy, was eventually identified it as being Chery.

Law enforcement officials already have a suspect in custody who they feel may be responsible for harming the missing 16-year-old girl.

Sanel Saint Simon is currently being held in the Orange County Jail. The 43-year-old is the boyfriend of the young girl’s mother.

Saint Simon is the “prime suspect in the disappearance” of Chery according to Undersheriff Rey Rivero.

Alexandria Chery was first reported missing by her mother on Monday. She came home to a terrifying scene.

Blood was splattered in her daughter’s room and the sheets were stripped from the bed. A pair of men’s underwear, which had been bleached, were also found at the scene.

Law enforcement have not shared if they believe the men’s underwear belong to Saint Simon, although they did state that he asked a family member to lie about having borrowed his car recently.

Saint Simon, who is currently being held on a $7,650 bond, has not cooperated with authorities since his arrest.

A vigil was held on Friday evening for Chery.

Her friends and family had desperately hoped against hope that she was still alive, only to have that hope dashed to pieces.

Awareness of the case and support for the missing young woman was raised largely through social media channels and the use of the hashtag #BringAlexHome.

  • Abigail Hernandez Found Alive: Where Was She?

Abigail Hernandez went missing on October 9, 2013 while walking home from school. The teen had sent several text messages shortly before she disappeared but nothing that offered a clue of who had taken her or where she had gone.

Police originally thought that Abigail had made it to her home and then went missing, but they later determined that was not the case. They also originally thought that she had made a call the same evening she went missing, but determined that was not true either.

While investigating, the police could not find any suspicious evidence and were treating Abigail’s disappearance as a missing person’s case.

Hundreds of people in the town of Mount Washington Valley, New Hampshire and nearby towns searched for Abigail in the days after her disappearance.

Several months after Abigail’s disappearance her mother received a letter from her. The family breathed a sigh of relief, but was still concerned for the teen’s safety. Police determined that Abigail had likely run away but believed she was coerced by someone.

Police continued to search for Abigail and she was returned home to her family on Sunday.

“We said all along, this was a child who was missing and we marshalled all our resources and we can gratefully say that she was able to be reunited with her family,” said Jane Young, chief of the attorney general’s criminal bureau.

Police are not giving any details about the circumstances under which Abigail was found and her family has asked for privacy.

“The long and short of it is, quite honestly, we are just happy that she’s home safe and sound right now,” FBI Special Agent In Charge Kieran Ramsey said Monday.

Do you think Abigail ran away on her own or was she taken and coerced to stay away from her family?
