  • Patrick McDermott: Olivia Newton John’s Missing Ex-Boyfriend Reportedly Found Alive

Patrick McDermott: Olivia Newton John’s Missing Ex-Boyfriend Reportedly Found Alive

Olivia Newton John’s ex-boyfriend, Patrick McDermott may be alive, a new report claims.

Woman’s Day magazine alleges that an investigator named John Nazarian revealed McDermott is secretly living in Mexico with his German lover, ten years after his strange disappearance.

“It’s rumored he was with a German national. I spoke to people there [in Mexico]. The girl he was traveling with was described as having a German accent… To come up with the conclusion that he fell off the boat, and allegedly no one saw him fall off the boat, is the most preposterous thing I’ve ever heard in my life,” Nazarian reportedly told the Australian magazine.

According to previous reports, McDermott disappeared during an overnight fishing excursion near San Pedro, California in June 2005. None of the 22 passengers of the fishing boat saw McDermott, who was 48 at the time, go overboard. He was not reported as missing until a week after the trip, when he did not show up for a family event.

Coast Guard divers failed to locate McDermott’s body after three years of search operations, and they declared that he “likely drowned.”

It was revealed that Patrick McDermott went missing after filing for bankruptcy. He left behind unpaid debts amounting to over $30,000. He also owed $8,000 in child support to his former wife Yvette Nipar, for their son, Chance.

Patrick McDermott, who is of Korean descent, allegedly had a second passport under his birth name – Patrick Kim – and withdrew his life savings from his bank accounts before his mysterious disappearance.

A separate investigation by Philip Klein in 2009, which was featured in a 2010 episode of Dateline, revealed McDermott was actually alive. A lawyer for the missing cameraman reportedly sent a letter to Klein saying his client “simply wishes to be left alone.”

Private Investigator Insists that Patrick McDermott is Alive

“His attorney called from Mexico City and said that Patrick didn’t want to be bothered. He hadn’t faked anything. He just wanted to get away from the drama,” Klein said.

  • Annie Lennox’s Daughter, Tali, Survives Kayaking Accident; Boyfriend Missing

Tali Lennox-Fruchtmann’s boyfriend, Ian Jones, is still missing after a kayaking accident on the Hudson River on Saturday, August 8.

Tali Lennox Fruchtmann is a model/visual artist who goes by the name Tali Lennox. She is the daughter of Eurythmics singer, Annie Lennox, who is famous for her 80s new wave hit song “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)”.

In a press release, Capt. John Watterson of the Dutchess County Sherrif’s Office said that Lennox, 22, and Jones, 32, were separated when a strong current tipped over their kayak. Lennox was rescued by a passing vessel but her boyfriend, Jones, was reported missing.

Watterson said that they are doing their best and are using all the resources they have to find Jones.

“Once the initial responding Deputies confirmed that Mr. Jones may still be in the water, Marine Patrols and Dive Teams from the Sheriff’s Office and other agencies immediately responded to begin searching the river,” read an official statement from the office of the Sheriff.

“Mr. Jones has not been located, and the search is expected to be suspended sometime tonight. The size of the search area and the conditions on the river have made the search difficult up to this point, and both will be reevaluated tomorrow to determine if the search can continue;” the Sherrif’s statement continued.

The authorities were certain that there is no foul play in the said incident. However, the investigation revealed that the couple was not wearing life preservers when they went kayaking.

Tali Lennox was examined right after the accident and only suffered minor injuries.

A description of Jones was released to hasten the investigation. Jones stands at 6’3” and is described to have a slim build and has dark hair. He was wearing denim pants and a denim shirt when the accident happened.

Anyone that spots someone matching Jones’ description should contact the Dutchess County Sheriff at 845-486-3800, call the tip line at 845-605-2583 or email at dcsotips@gmail.com.

  • Ohio State Football Player Found Dead

The body of an Ohio State University football player who had gone missing was found in Columbus, Ohio on Sunday, according to authorities.

Kosta Karageorge, a 22-year-old OSU defensive lineman and wrestler, disappeared Wednesday, and his body was found five days later. Karageorge apparently commited suicide inside of a dumpster near his apartment, by way of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Investigators were able to identify the body via various tattoos, according to Sgt. Rich Weiner, a Columbus police spokesman.

A woman told reporters that her son had found the body, and police revealed that the handgun was likewise found in the dumpster, though they are not sure it belonged to Karageorge.

Susan Karageorge, the deceased’s mother, had previously commented that her son suffered concussions, and that he had sent her a text shortly before he went missing. The text was an apology for being an “embarrassment,” as a result of his injuries.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that all football-related concussions are serious, most occur without loss of consciousness and recognition and proper response to concussions when they first occur can help prevent further injury or even death.

The CDC adds that symptoms of a concussion can include one pupil larger than the other, weakness, numbness, decreased coordination, slurred speech, convulsions, unusual behavior, confusion, restlessness and agitation.

OSU said in a statement, “The Ohio State University Department of Athletics was shocked and saddened to learn today of the death of student-athlete Kosta Karageorge, a senior from Columbus. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Karageorge family, and those who knew him, during this most difficult time.”

  • Hannah Graham Missing: Parents Beg For Help

University of Virginia student Hannah Graham is still missing and her parents are desperately searching for more information to lead them to her whereabouts.

Despite an arrest in the case and thousands of tips pouring in, her parents issued a new statement, pleading for any critical information that could bring their 18-year-old daughter back.

“Somebody listening to me today either knows where Hannah is, or knows someone who has that information,” Sue Graham, Hannah’s mother, said. “We appeal to you to come forward and tell us where Hannah can be found.”

“Please, please, please help end this nightmare for all of us,” she added. “Please help us to bring Hannah home.”

Graham was last seen in an area of Charlottesville known as the Downtown Mall on September 13. Since then, her friends and family members have remained hopeful that she would be found. A $100,000 reward is being offered for her to be returned home safely.

On September 24, authorities in Texas arrested a suspect in the disappearance of Hannah. 32-year-old Jesse Leroy Matthew Jr. was extradited to Virginia and is being held in jail. He is believed to be the last person who was with Graham before she disappeared and is being charged with abduction with intent to defile. According to eye-witnesses, the pair were last seen entering a restaurant in Charlottesville called Tempo, and later left the bar together.

Mathew has also been forensically linked to the disappearance and murder of 20-year-old Morgan Harrington, a Virginia Tech student who went missing in 2009 after a Metallica concert at John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville. Matthew was working as a cab driver on the night Harrington went missing.

Washington police confirmed that a missing persons report was filed for Misty on October 6 and she is currently listed as missing in their records. According to Indian Country Today Media Network, Misty was last seen walking from her sister’s apartment in Auburn, Washington on October 5.

“Award Winning Native Actress, Misty Upham-best known for her roles in: August Osage County, Jimmy P and Frozen River, is a Missing Person. Commander Steve Stocker told People that they responded to a suicidal call at Misty’s parent’s home where she lives. When they got there, Misty had already packed several of her belongings and had left.

The circumstances surrounding Misty’s disappearance don’t quite add up to make her a legitimate missing person according to Washington law. However, after her father’s demands that she be listed as a missing person, authorities chose to do so.

“As far as the information we have, she took some things with her, she has a bus pass and even access to some money, and [the case] has been assigned to a detective, but we aren’t putting resources [to look for her],” Stocker explained.

According to police, this is not the first time that Misty has left home. They revealed that they have responded to suicidal calls four times at Misty’s home within the past year.

Her father described her as a suicidal person and said that she had recently changed medications and was experiencing erratic behavior. “She had recently changed her medication, so she was sort of having erratic behavior. She told me and her mom that we didn’t have to worry about her anymore. … I thought it sounded suicidal myself, so I called the police. She’s always been a suicidal person,” he said.

If anyone has any information regarding Misty’s disappearance please call the Auburn police department at (253) 288-2121.

  • Amy Sue Pagnac Case Reopened After 25 Years

In 1989 Amy Sue Pagnac went missing. The 13 year-old girl’s stepfather, Marshall Midden, told police that Amy disappeared while he was using the restroom in an Osseo, Minnesota gas station. For 25 years the girl has remained missing, but Minnesota police are now reopening the case, hoping to find some clue as to what happened to Amy.

According to a Star Tribune report, Maple Grove police are now searching the home of Midden and Amy’s mother, Susan Pagnac for clues to Amy’s whereabouts. The couple’s house is being turned upside down as police intricately search the premises for clues. The search is expected to take at least four days, continuing through Friday.

Police have not stated what prompted the new search or what they are hoping to find. Maple Grove police have stated that it is not one piece of evidence that has led to the new search but “a process.” The home has been searched twice before by police, once shortly after Amy’s disappearance and once again in 2007.

Rather than criticize police for the invasive search, Amy’s mother said that she welcomes the attention. Pagnac told the Star Tribune that the search gives her “more hope” that Amy will be found.

“It’s inconvenient, but at the end goal if it brings Amy home it doesn’t matter,” said Pagnac. “The reality is, she has never received this much attention. There’s a heck of a lot of people who don’t know who she is.”

Midden, on the other hand, stated that police searches have brought “frustration” over the years. Since Amy disappeared, Pagnac and Midden say they have been suspects in the disappearance. The couple have largely avoided their neighbors and have endured suspicion from their community.

Midden and Pagnac believe that their daughter was kidnapped by organized crime, and possibly sold into sex slavery. Pagnac told the Star Tribune that she has no reason to believe that her daughter is dead, even after 25 years.

  • Crater Lake Snowshoe Hiker Missing

    Crater Lake Snowshoe Hiker Missing

Rangers at Crater Lake National Park are searching for a snowshoe hiker who has been missing since April 28. Authorities said the hiker rented snowshoes from the Oregon park’s general store and set forth to hike and snap photos, before vanishing. Park rangers found the missing hiker’s vehicle near Rim Village.

Rescuers questioned other hikers who had traversed the area, and were directed to a set of tracks which led to a collapsed snow cornice near the rim of the crater.

Crater Lake spokesperson Marsha McCabe explained that “snow cornices pose a serious hazard. Cornices are formed when snow is blown over sharp terrain like the rim of Crater Lake. The snow forms an overhang with no solid ground beneath it for support.” Snow cornices are common around the park this time of year, and park patrons are urged to take extreme caution, as they are prone to collapse.

Crater Lake National Park was established in 1902, and is situated in southern Oregon. The park comprises the caldera of Crater Lake, a remnant of the volcano Mount Mazama, and the surrounding hills and forests. Crater Lake itself is 1,943 feet deep, making it the deepest lake in the United States, the second deepest in North America and the ninth deepest in the world.

Here is a documentary on the park:

Crater Lake is fully accessible during the summer months, though heavy snowfalls during the fall, winter and spring months force many road and trail closures.

Mccabe added that “extensive search efforts in that area by ground and air have not located the individual. The search has been scaled back, but is ongoing as weather and snow conditions permit.” Authorities plan to incorporate a boat in the search, once the lake shore can be accessed.

The name and gender of the missing hiker has not yet been released.

  • Michigan Doctor’s Body Found in Indiana Lake

A woman’s body was recovered from a northwestern Indiana lake Sunday, and has now been identified as that of missing Michigan doctor Teleka Patrick. The cause of death is still pending further investigation, though an autopsy revealed no signs of trauma.

Patrick, 30, of Kalamazoo, disappeared on December 5th, and was last seen in the parking lot of Kalamazoo’s Borgess Medical Center, only to apparently drive to Indiana before vanishing. Later in the night on Dec. 5, police found Patrick’s gold 1997 Lexus ES300 in a ditch on westbound I-94 in Indiana, near the Porter/Burns Harbor.

According to Indiana State Police, divers pulled Patrick’s body from Lake Charles in Porter, roughly 15 miles east of Gary. Police and FBI agents had searched the same lake on January 23.

Around the time of her disappearance, Patrick had been accused of stalking popular, Grammy-nominated gospel singer Marvin Sapp. Sapp came forward to reveal that he’d in the past filed a restraining order against Patrick, and that she had claimed him as her husband, had moved from California to Michigan, joined his church, had contacted his children and had been to his home. Sapp said in his complaint, “I have at least 400 pages of correspondence from her which I have never responded.”

Video of Patrick seemingly addressing a mystery man have appeared online, which might lead to speculation that Sapp may have been the object of the doctor’s cooing.

Regardless of the videos and restraining order revelation, Patrick’s mother has stated that she wasn’t aware of Taleka being involved in any romantic relationship.

Patrick’s family hired private investigator Carl Clatterback, who told CNN that he’s looking into the videos. The question of who Patrick was actually directing her clips to still remains. Investigators believe the intended viewer might have some answers regarding Patrick’s death.

Patrick’s family had launched a Facebook page entitled “Find Teleka.” It has since been changed to “Remembering Teleka.”

  • Jasmine Joseph: Body Of Missing Student Found Dead In Her Car

Jasmine Joseph, the 22-year-old college student from Long Island who has been missing since February, was found dead in her car. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death but since there is no evidence of foul play, her death is currently being ruled as a suicide.

Police confirmed the identity of the missing student, whose body was found in her Nissan Altima on Tuesday. The car was parked in a lot in Syosset less than half a mile from home. The parking lot had previously been searched by the police but the car was not reported to be present then.

Joseph was last seen on the 24th of February leaving her home. She informed family members that she was going to attend a class at the Old Westbury campus of the New York Institute of Technology where she was taking up nursing. When her mother called in the afternoon, she said she was in the campus library. She never came home and calls to her phone went straight to voicemail. Her parents then decided to go to the campus to look for her, fearing that she may have been kidnapped. They saw no signs of her or her car.

This prompted her family to contact the police. During the investigation, they found out that the last time Jasmine went to class was May last year.

Joseph’s parents were shocked to learn of this, because their credit card was charged for the Fall 2013 semester. Her mother Lovely Joseph said that she was a straight-A student, but when the Fall semester came and they asked to see her report card, Jasmine said that the computer had technical problems. Mrs. Joseph also noticed her daughter wasn’t bringing textbooks home, to which Jasmine replied that she was doing her reading online.

According to her family, Joseph was obedient and didn’t have a boyfriend. They didn’t even have strict rules that may have been difficult for her.

After she disappeared, her family set up a page on Facebook to help with the search effort. Joseph’s parents also offered a $5,000 reward for her return.

  • Madeleine McCann Disappearance: Police On The Verge Of Making Arrests

Madeleine McCann Disappearance: Police On The Verge Of Making Arrests

Scotland Yard (London police) may travel to Portugal this week to make arrests in the in the case involving the disappearance of Madeleine McCann. Madeleine was a little girl who vanished 7 years ago while on a Portuguese vacation with her parents. She was 3 when she disappeared from the hotel room where she was sleeping.

The authorities have indicated they intend to interview three suspected burglars who had been actively committing burglaries in the neighborhood during or about the time of Madeleine’s disappearance. The authorities say the rate of burglary had significantly increased in the resort where the McCanns had been staying, peaking in 2007. Two burglaries even took place in the apartment block where the McCanns were staying as recently as April of last year. In both cases, entry was through the window.

The family has refused to comment on the case. A spokesman for the McCann family told ABC News that the matter should be left to the investigators instead of speculating.

“I’m afraid we are saying nothing about any aspect of Operation Grange whilst the police work continues, least of all about any tabloid speculation surrounding it,” said the spokesman.

The spokesman further said that the latest development could be significant because it will eventually either rule in or out the involvement of the three men. He also said the family is keeping its expectations low in regard to this development.

Police reviewed records of hundreds of mobile phone numbers from calls made during the time Madeleine disappeared and discovered that a high number of calls were made between the three suspects. The calls apparently raised a red flag.

Had Madeleine not vanished from her bed that night, she would have celebrated her fourth birthday just a few days later. Her parents, Gerry McCann and Kate McCann, who were dining at a nearby restaurant at the time their daughter went missing, have been engaged in a campaign to find her ever since.

  • Missing Doctor Accused of Stalking Gospel Singer

Missing Michigan doctor Teleka Patrick had been accused of stalking popular, Grammy-nominated gospel singer Marvin Sapp, adding to the mystery of the 30-year-old’s December 5th disappearance.

In what resembles a scenario from the defunct CBS drama ‘Without a Trace,’ Patrick was least seen in the parking lot of Kalamazoo’s Borgess Medical Center, only to apparently drive to Indiana, before vanishing. Later in the night on Dec. 5, police found Patrick’s gold 1997 Lexus ES300 in a ditch on westbound I-94 in Indiana, near the Porter/Burns Harbor.

After failing to report to work the next day, Patrick’s family quickly grew suspicious, and launched a Facebook page in hopes of finding any information in her whereabouts.

Now singer Sapp has come forward to reveal that he’d in the past filed a restraining order against Patrick, and that she had claimed him as her husband, had moved from California to Michigan, joined his church, had contacted his children and had been to his home. Sapp said in his complaint, “I have at least 400 pages of correspondence from her which I have never responded.”

Patrick’s family made a statement on Facebook regarding the restraining order revelation – “We are aware of media reports that are beginning to focus on Teleka’s mental health, and while we encourage the pursuit of honest journalism and truth, we will not take part in sensationalizing Teleka’s disappearance. We believe that she has met with foul play and wholeheartedly believe that she is in danger.”

Video of Patrick seemingly addressing a mystery man have appeared online, which might lead to speculation that Sapp may have been the object of the doctor’s cooing.

  • Pregnant Woman Murder: Husband Charged With Slaying

A charge has been brought against the alleged killer of missing pregnant woman, Melissa Sowders, whose body was apparently discovered on Thursday in Harris County, Texas.

The estranged husband of Sowders, 28-year-old Matthew Sowders, may face the death penalty or life in prison in the slaying of his ex-wife and her unborn child.

Divers found the body of who they believe to be the 26-year-old behind Matthew’s home.

Her abandoned white Honda Accord on I-45 led investigators to the exact location of the body in Cypress Creek. Sowders had been missing since Dec. 26.

Her boyfriend said the last time he spoke with her is when she dropped him off at work prior to meeting up with her ex-husband and their daughter. Witnesses say she was seen at McDonald’s with the two the day she disappeared.

During a hearing Friday, two witnesses came forth to testify against Matthew.

According to one woman, she saw what she “believed to be a lifeless body in the doorway of Matt Sowders’ apartment when she went to visit” on the same day the mom-to-be went missing.

She then alerted the police in a conference call, which led to Matthew openly confessing his involvement in the murder of his ex-wife.

Matthew was denied bond on Friday and is being held in the Harris County Jail.

His attorney claims that his client had nothing to do with Sowders’ death.

“He is maintaining his innocence. It was a shock to be charged and arrested without a cause of death determination. He is not guilty of this charge,” Neyland said in a statement to ABC News.

An autopsy has yet to be done to verify the identity and cause of death.

Yet, further details into the story make the motives behind her death seem like an act of jealousy.

Opened records show that the two filed for divorce in October 2013 and were in the middle of the legal process. They had four children together. However, Sowders was said to be expecting her fifth child with her boyfriend.

  • Madeleine McCann: Police To Release Photo Of Suspect

Madeleine McCann disappeared in 2007, and the police are still investigating the case. She was only a toddler at the time, and if she were to be found, she would now be 10 years old, as of her birthday in May. After years of searching and investigation, the police have finally announced that they will release a photo of the suspect, with the hopes that it will help people identify who it is, and find Madeline after all this time. Her parents, Kate and Gerry McCann are set to appear on Crimewatch, a television program, to accompany Metropolitan Police Detective Chief Inspector Andy Redwood.

The computer-generated photo is part of an active investigation attempting to identify a man who was last seen near the resort hotel in Praia de Luz, Portugal. The child was last seen at the resort when vacationing with her family. According to The Guardian, the British police investigation has identified more than 40 people of interest, but they have revealed that the inquiry team is particularly interested in one individual, who is being viewed as a likely suspect in the case. A number of sexual offenders have been identified as being in the area at the time and are being sought as persons of interest to be questioned. This information was gathered through mined mobile phone data that was obtained from people in the area of the McCann’s vacation apartment at the time of the disappearance.

Her disappearance has gained national attention after her parents continued to press the authorities to keep looking for their daughter. She was 3 years old at the time when she went missing, and her parents are determined to find her after years of her absence. They know that it is not the kind of thing where she will simply turn up, and as her father Gerry says, “You have got to chase it.”

Scotland Yard announced it July that she could still be alive and the reopening of the case came after British Prime Minister David Cameron ordered British police to reopen the case in 2011. The prime minister offered his great support for the search for the Madeline. The disappearance of the girl had been considered a closed case as of 2008, before he intervened.

  • Paul Allen Employs Octopus in Pacific Search

Paul Allen, a mega rich co-founder of Microsoft, is involved in a search in the Pacific for an American pilot and two Palau police officers whose plane disappeared over the weekend. The pilot and officers disappeared after confronting Chinese poachers who were caught fishing in marine reserves.

The poachers were after giant clams (Tridacna gigas) which are the largest living bivalve mollusks. They can weigh up to 200 kilograms and grow up to 1.2 meters long. The species is threatened by overfishing for three reasons:

Their shells are sought after as souvenirs

They are being over harvested for their meat

And they are valuable in aquarium trading

The search continues in Palau for the pilot and two police officers who were aboard a Cessna aircraft that had to make an emergency landing in the waters off Palau Sunday. Coast Guard Sector Guam officials who are actively part of the search say they are getting a lot of Palau government and community volunteers coming out to help with the search efforts.

There is currently a fleet of ships scouring the Pacific to find these men, and Allen’s 414 foot yacht, called the Octopus, is part of the flotilla. The yacht also has two helicopters, a submarine, and a remote-controlled underwater vessel.

According to the New York Post, Coast Guard spokesman Lt. j.g. Richard Russell commends Allen for all of his help on the mission: “The last few days, he’s been lending us both his helicopters in aid of the search. He’s been a huge help.”

Court documents reportedly indicate that there are about 25 Chinese fishermen facing charges after diving for and retrieving giant clams in protected waters.
