  • Kim Zolciak: Stroke Prompts Elimination from ‘Dancing With the Stars’

Kim Zolciak’s stroke is the reason behind her elimination from Dancing With the Stars this week, and the former Real Housewives of Atlanta star isn’t happy about it.

It was last week when Kim Zociak suffered what doctors are calling a mini stroke.

Per the Dancing With the Stars rules, contestants must withdraw from performing if illness prevents them from dancing. Kim Zolciak doesn’t want to drop out because of her stroke, however. Pro dance partner Tony Dovolani is “hoping to persuade” the show’s lawyers to allow her to come back.

“I’m very proud of Kim,” he said. “She improved every week. This was such an unfortunate thing. Listen, she was in the hospital for three days and still came in on Saturday and learned the dance in an hour and a half. We were prepared to dance, just that they hadn’t cleared her to fly yet. That’s the reason why she’s not here.”

Had Kim Zolciak been cleared by doctors to fly, she would have returned to L.A. to perform on Monday. That was her plan.

“I practiced for hours Saturday I was so excited to be there tonight! I just needed a few more days and then I’m cleared to fly! ? #ImReallySad #ImStrong,” she captioned the following photo she posted to Instagram.

Kim Zolciak is urging fans to Tweet the powers-that-be at Dancing With the Stars, urging them to allow her return.

Surely Kim Zolciak’s stroke makes her a greater liability on Dancing With the Stars than she was before she suffered it.

Do you think Kim Zolciak should be allowed back on the show, despite having suffered a stroke?

  • Mini Stroke Symptoms: What To Watch Out For

Strokes can be among the scariest things to happen to a person. Often they can come by total surprise.

It’s important to know that in addition to being watchful of a full-on stroke, you should be wary of having mini-strokes.

These mini-strokes are called transient ischemic attacks or TIAs. They occur when a certain part of the brain is deprived of oxygen. The culprit tends to be a small blood clot.

Unlike a full-on stroke, a TIA is usually over within ten minutes and doesn’t cause permanent damage. This can lead an individual to mistakenly believe that TIAs are harmless. This simply isn’t the case.

Experiencing one or more TIAs can serve as a warning that you may soon experience a major stroke!

Anywhere from 200,000 to 500,000 people per year are thought to experience a TIA. Studies find that African Americans as an ethnic group are most at risk. As are the elderly.

Though certain groups are more likely to experience a TIA than others, it’s important for EVERY individual to be mindful of their health in this regard.

What symptoms should you watch out for?

For any stroke or TIA, there is an acronym you should apply called F.A.S.T.

    Face drooping

    Arm weakness

    Speech difficulty

    Time to call 9-11

While these are the most common signs that someone is experiencing a TIA or stroke, there are other symptoms to look out for

Sudden weakness or numbness (not just in the face or an arm, but throughout one side of the body, vision problems in one or both eyes, confusion, disorientation, and dizziness are additional symptoms.

If you suspect that you or someone else is experiencing either a TIA or stroke, it’s important to get medical help IMMEDIATELY.

A blood clot may not dissolve on its own; it’s simply not a condition you can afford to “wait out”.

  • Frankie Muniz: Second Stroke At Age 27

Frankie Muniz, age 27, has suffered another mini stroke. The former star of  “Malcolm in the Middle” revealed in his twitter account that he was in the hospital last Friday for the mini stroke.

“I was in the hospital last Friday. I suffered a “Mini Stroke”, which was not fun at all. Have to start taking care of my body! Getting old!” He wrote.

This second stroke comes almost exactly one year after he was hospitalized for a similar health crisis.

Here’s what Frankie had to say after his first stroke

“Almost a year to the day, I experienced another mini stroke,” Frankie tweeted Monday ”

Hopefully that will be the last. Miserable.”

Although strokes are believed to happen to older people, mini strokes can also happen to younger people. “Stroke has been noted to having an increased frequency in young adults without a clear cause, “says Dr. Richard B. Libman, Vice Chair of Neurology at the Cushing Neuroscience Institute in Manhasset, N.Y. Dr Libman told CBSNews that “stroke has been known as the disease for the elderly especially those with preexistent atherosclerotic and heart disease.

A stroke is a brain attack that happens when blood supply to the brain is stopped due to narrow blood vessels or when the vessel bursts and fills the spaces around the cells of the brain with blood. As a result, the cells may die due to insufficient oxygen or bleeding.

  • Frankie Muniz Suffers Another Mini-Stroke

    Frankie Muniz Suffers Another Mini-Stroke

Everyone’s favorite child star’s health problems are continuing. Frankie Muniz, who is only 27-years-old, recently suffered his second mini-stroke. It is a terrible thing to see when young stars, and young people in general are forced to endure such traumatic health problems.

Frankie Muniz, as most people remember played the titular character in the popular sitcom Malcolm In The Middle. The young star has suffered a min-stroke for the second time, and unfortunately as it often happens for child stars, Muniz has already been out of the spotlight for a number of years now.

The first time that Frankie Muniz had such a traumatic episode was almost a year ago in December of 2012, and he was sent to the hospital on both occasions.

Since his time as a child actor when he also appeared in several films including Agent Cody Banks, Big Fat Liar, and more, he has moved on to music. He is currently the drummer for the band Kingsfoil, and lives in his hometown of Phoenix, Arizona.

Frankie Muniz turns 28 on December 5th, and takes this second mini-stroke as a sign for him to slow down, saying that he does not take enough time for himself. Often these types of events can be good for people, in order to get them to slow down, and not take the time that they have for granted.

Speaking on the situation, he said “My biggest problem is I always want to be working, going non-stop. So it’s a wakeup call to take a little time and relax a bit.”

After the first mini-stroke, he half joked, when saying that he was getting old, and needed to take care of his body. It has been a scary situation for the young Muniz, and he is hoping that this will be the last one. He could not speak normal words, and his fiancee looked at him at the time as if he were speaking a foreign language.

Frankie Muniz blames the event on his hard work ethic, and unwillingness to slow down, and he even prides himself on the fact that he lives a healthy lifestyle without using any drugs or alcohol.
