  • Hilary Duff Releases First New Music In 7 Years

Hilary Duff has been hard at work on a new album, and although it’s untitled and doesn’t have an official release date, she’s more than happy to share bits and pieces of it with her fans.

Duff gets a little bit folksy, a little bit poppy, and a little bit personal on the album, which she says was the goal. After seven years away from the music industry, the former Disney star has grown a lot and started a family, which had a profound influence on her writing.

“The album is very positive, it’s very up, but it does talk about… there’s a song called ‘If I Fall,’ which is about me taking a step back and kind of shutting down my whole business, and everyone not believing in me and me being really scared to be alone after I’d been surrounded by 100 people for five years of my life,” says the former Disney star. “And then the other ones are like, some party songs, a song about [my son] Luca, a song about my separation and my love for this person that maybe we’re not meant to be together, or maybe we are. I mean, it’s very, very personal, but I would say that it has a happy spirit to it, which is me,” she said.

One of those songs may or may not be about her ex, Mike Comrie, who is the father of her son Luca. However, Duff said the two have remained friendly for the sake of their child.

“We’re both doing so well that I’d rather not talk about it because it’s old news. But we both care about [our son] and being the best parents we can be is our main focus,” she said.

Hilary Duff Rocks Bikini in “Chasing the Sun” Video

Hilary Duff is rocking a black bikini in the video for her comeback single “Chasing the Sun.”

The song and video officially released on Tuesday, although it leaked online the day before.

Duff described it as a “light and fun summer song.” Colbie Caillat, Toby Gad, and Jason Reeves co-wrote the tune, which Duff hopes “helps people to feel a little more carefree.”

The song marks Duff’s return to the music industry after a seven-year break.

“I took a break from music for quite awhile, but it gave me the power to choose my next steps carefully and I’m really proud of the album I’ve made,” Duff said.

“I’ve worked very hard and the album is a great representation of the experiences I’ve had in my life and where I want to go from here!”

The upcoming studio album will be Duff’s fifth. The singer and actor, who rose to fame as star of Disney’s hit series Lizzie McGuire, released her first album (Santa Claus Lane) in 2002.

She followed that up with Metamorphosis, her best-selling album to date, in 2003. It included two hit singles, “Come Clean” and “So Yesterday” and went triple platinum.

Duff went on to release a self-titled studio album in 2004, a compilation album (Most Wanted) in 2005, her fourth studio album (Dignity) in 2007, and a greatest hits album (Best of Hilary Duff) in 2008.

Duff has kept busy acting and being a mother during her break from music.

Besides starring in a spin-off movie of the Lizzie McGuire series, Duff stared in Agent Cody Banks (2003,) Cheaper by the Dozen (also 2003,) and A Cinderella Story (2004.)

She guest-starred on series such as George Lopez, Gossip Girl, Joan of Arcadia, and Two and a Half Men.

Most recently she’s been attached to TV Land’s upcoming single-camera comedy series Younger. Written and executive-produced by Darren Star (Beverly Hills 90210, Melrose Place, Sex and the City) the series will also star Sutton Foster (Bunheads, Shrek the Musical,) Debi Mazar (Collateral, Goodfellas,) and Miriam Shor (Bedazzled, The Cake Eaters.)

Duff also provided voice for the animated film Wings: Sky Force Heroes opposite Josh Duhamel and Rob Schneider, and starred in the yet-to-be-released Flock of Dudes with Skylar Astin, Bryan Greenberg, and New Girl’s Hannah Simone.

Duff is also a New York Times best selling author. In 2010 she released Elixir, the first installment of her young adult trilogy, a collaboration with Elise Allen. Devoted released in 2011 and True in 2013.

Duff and her estranged husband Mike Comrie have a son, Luca, who was born in March 2012.

  • Hilary Duff and Hubby at Coachella Despite Separation

Hilary Duff and estranged hubby Mike Comrie were spotted together at Coachella this past weekend, despite announcing their split back in January. The Lizzie McGuire star will return to TV in the near future starring in a new show called Younger. Comrie retired from his professional hockey career back in 2010.

The two wed in 2010 and have a 2-year-old son together. Even though they appeared to be having a great time at Coachella a source for the couple says there’s no reconciliation in the works.

“They are still separated but very good friends … They are at Coachella this weekend, which is sure to fan the flames, but they aren’t a couple. It’s just not true – they remain separated.”

In February–just one month after announcing their plans to divorce, Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie traveled with son Luca to the Bahamas.

After she and Mike Comrie were spotted at Coachella this past weekend she posted the following to Twitter.

If Hilary Duff and her husband honestly haven’t yet reconciled, their actions certainly lend themselves to exactly that some time in the future–don’t you think?

Back in January a rep for Duff and Comrie issued the following statement about the couple.

“Hilary Duff and husband Mike Comrie have mutually decided to an amicable separation. They remain best friends and will continue to be in each other’s lives. They are dedicated to loving and parenting their amazing son, and ask for privacy at this time.”

Who deemed smooching and cuddling to be part of an ‘amicable separation?’ It certainly seems like something more is definitely going on.

It would be wonderful to learn that Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie have decided to work things out with their marriage and to forgo any efforts toward getting a divorce. It’s always painful when a couple splits–especially when there is a child or children involved.

So what’s your take on Duff and Comrie? Are they separated smoochers or are they working on putting the pieces of their lives back together again?

  • Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie at Coachella 2014

Hilary Duff and her estranged husband Mike Comrie were spotted together at Coachella 2014 on Friday.

The couple, who married in 2010 and have a two-year-old son together, announced their separation in January.

Despite their appearance at the annual Indio, CA music festival on Friday, a source says Duff and Comrie are not reconciling:

“They are still separated but very good friends … They are at Coachella this weekend, which is sure to fan the flames, but they aren’t a couple. It’s just not true – they remain separated.”

Indeed, it’s not the first time the two have appeared together since announcing their separation.

In February Duff posted a picture of her, Comrie, and their son Luca in the Bahamas with the hashtags #modernfamily and #vacation.

Duff has posted several photos on Twitter giving Comrie photo credit:

The day before being spotted at Coachella, the two were seen shopping together at the Chanel store in Beverly Hills. Similar sightings have occurred in New York City, and at one point, Duff posted a picture of Comrie and Luca hiking that was presumably taken by her.

At the very least, Duff and Comrie appear to be carrying out the vow they made back in January to remain friends and lovingly co-parent their son.

It was recently announced that Duff, who broke onto the Hollywood scene with her starring role in the Disney hit series Lizzie McGuire in 2001, will return to television full-time to star in Younger. TV Land Network has ordered 12 episodes of the show. It will be produced by Darren Star of Sex and the City fame and will costar Sutton Foster, who has won two Tony Awards for her Broadway performances.

Duff recently signed a deal for her fifth music album:

Originally from Canada, Comrie retired from professional hockey in 2012 at the age of 31 after undergoing his third hip surgery in five years. He had played 10 seasons in the National Hockey League.

  • Hilary Duff Spilts From Her Husband Of 3 Years

Hilary Duff and her husband Mike Comrie have called it quits after only three years of marriage.

“Hilary Duff and husband Mike Comrie have mutually decided to an amicable separation,” Duff’s rep said in a statement. “They remain best friends and will continue to be in each other’s lives. They are dedicated to loving and parenting their amazing son, and ask for privacy at this time.”

Duff, 26, and Comrie, 33, married in 2010, and welcomed their only child Luca Cruz Comrie in March 2012. “We are overjoyed,” Duff tweeted at the time. “He is surrounded by so much love!! Mom and baby are both doing extremely well.”

A source close to Duff reveals that there was no major incident leading to the separation.

“There was no major incident – no big event between the two of them,” the source said. “They really did drift apart. They have put effort and thought into this decision for a long time. They tried couples therapy, but in the end, they realized at this time, they work better as friends. And they really are great friends.”

  • Hilary Duff Tweets Her Gratitude After Split

Hilary Duff and husband Mike Comrie have called it quits after three years of marriage.

The actresses rep confirmed the split saying the two have agreed upon “an amicable separation.”

“They remain best friends and will continue to be in each other’s lives,” Duff’s publicist told ABC News. “They are dedicated to loving and parenting their amazing son, and ask for privacy at this time.”

A source close to the 26-year-old actress, who wed Comrie, 33, in August 2010, said the couple have split amicably and a tweet by the actress posted Friday seems to confirm this.

“There was no major incident – no big event between the two of them. They really did drift apart,” said a source. “They have put effort and thought into this decision for a long time…. And they really are great friends.”

Friday, the couple tweeted their thanks for the support they received following the announcement.

The couple will continue to parent 21-month-old son Luca Cruz together.

“They’re still going to go to the park together,” said the source. “She really does care about him and he really does care about her.”

  • Hilary Duff and Husband Separate on Compromising Terms

Today is a very sad day for Hilary Duff’s marriage, or is it?

Duff, 26, and husband Mike Comrie, 33, have decided to call it quits and end their marriage of three years. However, their intentions are completely the opposite in comparison to most celebrity divorces or general divorces for that matter.

According to a report by People, an insider shared how:

“There was no major incident – no big event between the two of them. They really did drift apart. They have put effort and thought into this decision for a long time. They tried couples therapy, but in the end, they realized at this time, they work better as friends. And they really are great friends.”

Duff’s reps have also added that the reassessment of their marriage was a mutual agreement and not just “a rash decision.”

Duff’s mother, Susan Duff, confirmed with TMZ that her daughter “loves Mike but sees the breakup this way, “They’re better friends than a married couple.””

The two plan to stay best friends for the sake of their 21-month-old son Luca Cruz. Duff and Comrie will preferably be considering joint custody of their son, in which sources say they plan to take to the park TOGETHER.

Duff recently posted a tweet thanking all her fans for their support, which further confirmed her and Comrie’s decision.

Here is the most recent photo of the two on New Years Eve…

Thankfully this wasn’t a sudden decision by the two but instead one that ended on compromising terms.

  • Hilary Duff and Husband Announce Separation

It seems like Hilary Duff’s marriage won’t last through 2014, because according to TMZ the 26-year old and her husband Mike Comrie, 33, have decided to separate. But whether the split is temporary or permanent still remains to be seen.

However, based on the couple’s public statement, it looks like they’ve already made up their minds. “[We] have mutually decided to an amicable separation,” they said. “[We] remain best friends and will continue to be in each other’s lives.” Which sounds like the kiss of death if you know anything about Hollywood couples and the public statements they have to make.

In addition, Duff took to her Twitter account to thank all of her supporters and those who have wised the couple well. “Mike and I are sitting here,” she wrote. “We are so appreciative for all of your kindness and well wishes. Not an easy day, but we’re getting thru it together.”

The “Lizzie McGuire” actress and Comrie–who’s an ex-professional hockey player–met in 2007 in Idaho. In a 2010 interview with People magazine, Duff said it was complete serendipity that the two met. “We were all on the same plane and it was kind of, I guess, maybe a bit of a fluke,” she said. “It [was] one of those things where we were all in a group [and] we spent the weekend all hanging out.”

Plus, Duff says it was their shared sense of humor that attracted the couple to each other, and that she considered Comrie a cut above the rest, in terms of his generous nature and overall demeanor. “I’ve never met anyone who can say a bad word about him,” she noted. “He’s generous, caring and sunny. We just laugh our heads off.”

She also told People that she hates dating, which is why she got married in the first place. “I’m the worst dater. I haven’t really dated. I’ve been lucky enough to meet great people,” she said. We wish the couple the best in whatever their future plans are.

  • Hillary Duff: Instagram Pic of Baby Luca’s Tiny Feet

Early in her pregnancy Hillary Duff went on the Ellen Degeneres show to reveal the sex of her baby.

Ellen had some good old fashioned fun by putting Hillary through a ring, key, and hands test. The host held a ring attached to a string over the Disney star’s hands and it swung back and forth indicating that the baby would be a girl. Then they moved on to the key test where Duff was instructed to pick up a key. She grabbed the key by the large end which predicted that the child would be a boy. And finally, she asked Duff to show her hands — she showed her hands palm up. According to superstition, this means that Duff and her NHL hubby, Mike Comrie, would be having a baby girl.

After joking that Duff would be having triplets, Ellen guessed it would be a boy and she was right.

Luca Cruz Comrie was born Tuesday March 20, 2012 weighing seven pounds six ounces.

Duff just released a pic of her baby boy’s feet on her website and called them “My favorite little feet.”
