  • Gigi Hadid Receives Marriage Proposal

    Gigi Hadid Receives Marriage Proposal

Gigi Hadid received a marriage proposal on Friday. Does that mean boyfriend Joe Jonas got down on bended knee and proposed marriage to her?

    No.

That didn’t stop Gigi Hadid from smiling–and maybe even blushing a little–when she received the proposal.

So who proposed to Gigi Hadid?

    Mickey Mouse.

The fashion model enjoyed a day at Disneyland with Joe Jonas on Friday. Mickey enjoyed meeting Gigi Hadid so much, he proposed to her.

“I’ll be your Minnie ;),” she captioned a photo posted to Instagram.

In addition to the sweet marriage proposal, Gigi Hadid and Joe Jonas enjoyed some of the thrill rides Disneyland offers. They and several of their friends rode on Pirates of the Caribbean, the Jungle Cruise, and the Haunted Mansion.

Gigi Hadid also shared a Disney photo taken with a friend.

“disney days, bestie days,” she captioned the shot.

Disneyland is definitely a place where magic happens. Gigi Hadid and Joe Jonas no doubt spent a fun-filled day on Friday with their friends.

Do you suppose Mickey Mouse’s romantic proposal on bended knee gave Joe Jonas any ideas about proposing to Gigi Hadid?

Of course the two haven’t been dating for all that long.

Maybe by this time next year if they’re still together, Gigi Hadid could receive a real proposal.

  • Christina Aguilera Reportedly Calls Mickey Mouse an A**hole During Disneyland Meltdown

Christina Aguilera did the unthinkable during a recent birthday outing to Disneyland by calling Mickey Mouse an A**hole.

According to TMZ, the former Mouseketeer had quite the meltdown Dec. 18 at the famed Anaheim, California park with her fiancé Matt Rutler and a group of friends.

The 34-year-old diva apparently lost it when she wanted to take a pic with Mickey Mouse and found that the character was on a break.

A source told TMZ that Aguilera called Mickey an “a–hole” and demanded, “Do you know who I am?” TMZ claims that the poor Disney character had to be taken to a “safe zone” when members of Aguilera’s party began “hurling threats.”

Another source close to The Voice coach told Us Weekly that “Christina is a frequent guest at Disneyland. She loves the park and they adore her.”

No word on the incident from the singer, apart from a photo she posted the day after the alleged incident.

Aguilera got her career start on The Mickey Mouse Club in the 1990s, along with Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake.

  • Christina Aguilera Reportedly Has Beef with Mickey Mouse

Christina Aguilera Reportedly Has Beef with Mickey Mouse

You’d think that Christina Aguilera’s time on The Mickey Mouse Club in the early 90s would give her some extra clout at one of the celebrity mouse’s homes – but it appears that when Mickey needs a break, Mickey needs a break.

TMZ is citing its “theme park source” for a tale of celebrity, rejection, entitlement, and choice language. According to the gossip site, Aguilera didn’t take kindly to being told that she couldn’t have a picture with Mickey Mouse during a recent outing to Disneyland.

Apparently, Mickey was set to go on a break – right as Christina wanted to make some photo memories.

    From TMZ:

Aguilera lost it, and called Mickey an “asshole.” We’re told she even dropped the dreaded, “Do you know who I am?”

Xtina’s crew started hurling threats, we’re told … and Mickey had to be ushered to a safe zone — out of public view. Security was called, but by the time they arrived … the former Mouseketeer had already split.

We can confirm that Christina was, in fact, at Disneyland a couple of weeks ago via her Instagram. Whether or not there’s beef with Mickey, well, that’s left to be seen.

  • Poppy Montgomery Secretly Married Shawn Sanford at Disneyland

Poppy Montgomery and Microsoft executive Shawn Sanford have been married since February 19.

Montgomery broke the news on Friday when she appeared on Live! with Kelly and Michael.

The wedding ceremony took place at Disneyland. The couple’s children were present and Mickey and Minnie Mouse presided.

“My mother was horrified. She was like, ‘How do you turn Disneyland into Vegas? You don’t run away to Disneyland and get married!’”

Montgomery said the kids were more excited about the setting and special guests than the wedding itself:

” … my children were so in awe of Mickey and Minnie that they didn’t really pay any attention to the wedding. And then my stepdaughter said, ‘Why is Minnie dressed better than you?’ Because I wore jeans and Minnie was in a sort-of bridal gown.”

Montgomery and Sanford are parents to daughter Violet Grace, born in April 2013. Montgomery is also mother to six-year-old Jackson, her son with actor Adam Kaufman.

While with Kaufman, Montgomery downplayed the importance of marriage:

“If Jackson, our son, wanted us to [get married], I would for him because sometimes it’s important to kids, [but] marriage was never a priority for me,” she said in 2011. “I feel like the bigger commitment is actually having a child together, that’s really forever. With marriage, you can get a divorce.”

Montgomery has played Detective Carrie Wells on the CBS crime series Unforgettable since it premiered in 2011. Prior to that the Australian-born actress was known for her starring role on the police procedural series Without a Trace which ran on CBS from 2002 to 2009.

Unforgettable made headlines in 2012 when CBS cancelled the series after its first season, then picked it up for a 13-episode second season a little over a month later. In September 2013 it was renewed for a third season, which will air this summer.

  • Castle Of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse Lands September 3

Castle Of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse Lands September 3

DuckTales Remastered came out this week to divisive reviews as many felt that the game wasn’t updated enough to reflect modern design philosophies. Of course, many who love NES game design are adoring the the title though, and those who yearn for the glory days of Disney platformers won’t have long to wait until another classic from the early 90s arrives on consoles.

Sega announced today that its remake of Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse will hit the PSN on September 3. The game will also be available on September 4 for Xbox Live Arcade and PC. The title will cost $15 across all platforms.

In addition to the launch date announcement, Sega also announced a special pre-order incentive for PS3 owners. Those who pre-order the game on the PSN will receive the original Sega Genesis version of Castle of Illusion for free alongside an exclusive dynamic theme and three avatars. The original Castle of Illusion will be available to download immediately upon pre-ordering.

  • Sega Talks Bringing Mickey Mouse To Life In Castle Of Illusion

Sega Talks Bringing Mickey Mouse To Life In Castle Of Illusion

Castle of Illusion is fondly remembered not only as an excellent video game, but as one of the first games to truly capture the look and feel of Mickey Mouse. It must be daunting then for Sega Australia to live up to that pedigree with its remake. They’re not going to let the game’s storied history intimidate them though.

In the latest dev diary, the team at Sega Australia talk about what they’re doing to bring the magic of Castle of Illusion to modern consoles. Unlike other remakes that try to reimagine older games for new audiences, the new development team says that they’re doing everything they can to retain what made the original so special.

The only major change between the new and old Castle of Illusion is that Mickey will talk in the new game. Their hope is to expand upon the barebones story of the original to please old and new fans alike.

Castle of Illusion will be released later this year on the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.

  • Here’s What It Took To Bring Mickey Mouse Back To Video Games

Here’s What It Took To Bring Mickey Mouse Back To Video Games

Aside from Epic Mickey and Kingdom Hearts, Mickey Mouse has been largely absent from video games for the past 10 years. That used to not be the case back in the 80s and 90s when Capcom and Sega made fantastic games starring classic Disney characters. Now Disney is bringing those games back.

So, what is it like to create a remake to one of the most beloved Mickey Mouse games of all time? The team at Sega Australia and the creators of the original title recently spoke to Sony about bringing back Castle of Illusion to a modern audience, while retaining the beloved aspects of the original title.

Castle of Illusion is just one out of two remakes that Disney is currently working with publishers on. Capcom announced at PAX East that it had partnered with WayForward to remake the much beloved Ducktales platformer for modern platforms.

With all these Disney remakes, would it be too much to ask to have a team remake Mickey Mania? With a little bit of polish, it could be the best Mickey Mouse game ever made.

Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse will be available later this year on the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.

  • Mickey Mouse Returns To The Castle Of Illusion This Summer

Mickey Mouse Returns To The Castle Of Illusion This Summer

Disney and Capcom made a lot of people happy at PAX East when they announced an HD remake of the NES classic Ducktales. Now Disney is reviving another classic platformer of ages past.

Sega and Disney announced today that they’re remaking Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. Unlike Ducktales, which is getting a hand-drawn 2D remake, Castle of Illusion will get a full 3D makeover as it moves to a 2.5D platformer.

For those too young to remember early Disney games, Castle of Illusion was one of the very best Disney platformers of the early 90s. It was released exclusively on the Sega Genesis and is still fondly remembered to this day as one of the best, if not the best, Mickey Mouse game ever released. In fact, the only good parts of Disney’s Epic Mickey were the 2D platforming sections that were reminiscent of Castle of Illusion.

Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse will release this summer on the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.

  • Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX Coming to PlayStation 3

Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX Coming to PlayStation 3

Square Enix today announced that Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMix will be coming to the PlayStation 3 in North America and Europe. The game will be released sometime “this fall,” but no specific date was given.

The original Kingdom Hearts is an action RPG that became a hit for the PlayStation 2 due to its mix of Square Enix’s Final Fantasy-style characters and cartoon settings inspired by classic Disney movies such as Aladdin, Alice in Wonderland, and Peter Pan. The main character, Sora, travels through these Disney-inspired worlds with Donald Duck, Goofy, and other classic Disney characters.

The HD 1.5 ReMix of the game will include improved HD graphics, new audio, and content from the Japanese-only release Kingdom Hearts Final Mix. The new contend includes new abilities, missions, cutscenes, and a “secret movie.” The game will also include the sequel Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories and the cut scenes from Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days.

The Japanese trailer for the game seen below gives a good idea of how the game’s new HD graphics look:

  • Epic Mickey on the Nintendo 3DS This Fall

Epic Mickey on the Nintendo 3DS This Fall

After the recent news that you will be able to paint with Mickey Mouse and Oswald the Lucky Rabbit in Epic Mickey 2, it has now been announced that another Epic Mickey title will launch alongside the sequel, this one for Nintendo’s 3DS.

‘Disney Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion’ will be released this fall for Nintendo’s newest handheld gaming device. This follows Disney’s recent trend of releasing games for mobile platforms. The game will feature the ability for players to draw objects or characters and have them transformed into Disney-style 2D drawings, then rendered in 3D on the top screen of the 3DS.

This portable, scaled-down version of Epic Mickey will be based off of the Sega Genesis game ‘Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse’. The evil witch Mizrabel, the antagonist from the Sega Genesis game, will attempt to escape the confines of ‘Wasteland’ by sucking the ‘cartoon essence’ from classic disney cartoon characters, and players, as Mickey Mouse, will have to use his magic paint brush to save them. The ‘Wasteland’ is the world where Epic Mickey games are set, where forgotten Disney properties have been left to idle.

“The original ‘Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse’ changed the face of video gaming by allowing players to play as Mickey Mouse in a side-scrolling adventure full of dynamic environments,” said Warren Spector, vice president of game developer Junction Point and creative director for the game. “We’re honored to be able to pay tribute to this classic video game by creating a title that truly takes advantage of the unique capabilities of the Nintendo 3DS, putting the magic of Disney and the historic Castle of Illusion in the palm of your hands.”

  • Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power Of Two Is A Musical

Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power Of Two Is A Musical

One of the biggest delights from 2010 was Disney Epic Mickey. It was the first “good” Disney game in a long time and that should come as no surprise since Warren Spector, director of Thief and Deus Ex, was in charge of the platformer.

The game had two major problems though – no voice acting and the camera was awful. It seems that Spector is already fixing both of those issues. Speaking to the AP, he said that the new game will feature full voice acting. This is a pretty big deal since the Epic Mickey universe includes Oswald the Rabbit, Walt Disney’s first creation. Epic Mickey 2 will be the first time Oswald has ever been given a voice.

As for the camera, Spector says that he’s been having a time work on it since they finished the first game. His hope is that the player will not have to use the manual camera controls throughout the entire game.

What’s new this time around is that the game will be a musical. Spector has Jim Dooley and Mike Himelstein writing music for the game. How the musical sections will play out remain a mystery, but I’m sure Spector has some great ideas already in place.

I, for one, am super excited about having another musical game. It’s a genre that has been relatively untapped in the gaming world mostly due to the fact that musicals and games don’t really mix. The only other musical game was Rhapsody, a PlayStation RPG from the 90s. You might be able to count Conker’s Bad Fur Day on account of the Great Mighty Poo, but that’s just one instance of musical genius.

The best news though is that the sequel will not be stuck on one platform this time. While the first game was one of the strongest third-party efforts on the Nintendo Wii, the sequel will be for the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii. Here’s hoping we get a HD port of the first game for the PS3 and Xbox 360 before the sequel arrives sometime this fall.

If you want to see more on Epic Mickey 2, GameTrailers TV on Spike will air the world premier footage of the title. Host Geoff Keighley announced the news via Twitter:

Are you excited about Epic Mickey 2? What about the musical component? Let us know in the comments.
