  • Kendall Jenner: Michael Kors Dishes About Her ‘Impressive Career’

Kendell Jenner is turning lots of heads in the fashion world!

The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star recently hit the runway at Paris Fashion Week alongside some of the biggest names in fashion like Gisele Bündchen and Cara Delevingne.

Of course, the 18-year-old model did an amazing job on the runway, but there’s one notable designer that’s quite taken with her – Michael Kors.

Last weekend, the New York City-based fashion designer held a special dinner for the release of Claiborne Swanson Frank’s new book Young Hollywood.

While at the event, which took place in Beverly Hills, he chatted with E! News and dished about Kendall. Needless to say, he only had wonderful things to say about her!

    “I think she’s a strong, powerful, great-looking girl. She’s a real professional,” Kors said.

When asked whether or not he personally has plans to work with Kendall in the future, he expressed how timing is everything. “I think the big thing about models is it’s kind of like actresses—the right actress in the right part,” he explained. “And when it’s the right show, I think, ‘Hey, that’s fabulous.’ The right show with the right girl—it’s kind of magic.”

Kors went on to reveal some of the latest fall fashion trends. Surprisingly, this year, comfort is the latest fad!

“It’s definitely flat shoes, flat shoes, flat shoes,” he shared. “Even on the red carpet I think we’re gonna start to see some flat shoes. And just an easiness in general, hands in the pockets, kind of a softness,” he said.

He continued, “And although it’s hot as blazes here in L.A., pretty soon at night you’re going to want to be putting on a cozy piece of knitwear so a great sweater coat or a great sweater jacket, big mufflers, lots of cozy knits this fall. I think they’re kind of the first thing everyone is going to grab for.”

The colder days ahead should be quite pleasant where fashion is concerned!

  • Kendall Jenner May Fulfill Dreams Of Becoming Victoria’s Secret Angel

After wowing the fashion world with great walks at New York Fashion Week and Paris Fashion Week, Kendall Jenner is all set to achieve another dream: to be a Victoria’s Secret Angel. Rumors are circulating that Kendall is next in line to join the beautiful models who represent the iconic lingerie brand.

Some Victoria’s Secret Angels who have graced the widely-viewed Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show include supermodels Gisele Bundchen, Heidi Klum and Naomi Campbell. Now that Kendall has logged in some serious fashion shows in New York and Paris, the 18-year-old is reportedly raring to join their ranks and try what she once called her “dream modeling job.”

Kendall might just get her chance, too. According to In Touch Weekly, a source disclosed that Victoria’s Secret is eyeing Kendall to be their next Angel for this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. “They saw all the buzz she got from walking in New York Fashion Week. They’d love to lock in a contract with her,” said the source.

Kendall has also been photographed by longtime Victoria’s Secret collaborator Russell James for his book, Angels, which was launched in September. The book includes portraits of Adriana Lima, Karlie Kloss and Candice Swanepoel, supermodels who have also been Victoria’s Secret Angels. The outlook seems positive for Kendall’s Angel aspirations, especially since she has modeled for big designers such as Diane von Furtenberg, Donna Karan, Marc Jacobs and brands such as Dolce & Gabbana, Fendi and Pucci.

One fashion icon singing his praises for Kendall is designer Michael Kors. The Project Runway judge recently spoke to E! News at the special dinner he hosted for Claiborne Swanson Frank's new book Young Hollywood in Beverly Hills. “I think she’s a strong, powerful, great-looking girl. She’s a real professional. I love that her card just says Kendall. So she’s not trading on her name and I think she’s going to have a great career,” Kors said.

  • Michael Kors Brand Losing Value? Is It Oversaturated?

The Michael Kors stock had a good run, but investors are now wondering if it has reached its full potential in the United States.

Michael Kors has released several brands targeting all three demographics of shoppers. They have products for the high-end market, the middle-market, and for discount outlet stores. Industry expert Robin Lewis said, “Some would argue all of those segments will simply end up competing with each other, thus cannibalizing the top end of the spectrum.”

Now, Lewis is comparing the Michael Kors brand to Tommy Hilfiger, which reached its peak in the market in the late 90’s.

Based on reports, Michael Kors’ revenue has increased 55.6 percent since December 2011. Its market shares also boosted to 312 percent in the same time period. The brand’s stock gains and revenue growth seems difficult to maintain over time. Analysts are fearful that the brand’s inventories are too much, which will eventually lead to lower earnings and compressed profit margins.

Michael Kors is not the only brand falling from grace. Coach, which was once at the top, has been struggling for a few years now with competition from Michael Kors and Tory Burch. Another example of a brand that has fallen out of the picture is Juicy Couture, which fell off the radar as their signature sweat suits were just a fad.

Barclays retail analyst Joan Payson said that the Michael Kors brand could continue to grow in Europe over the next two years. However, the brand remains at a risk with the decline in the North American market share. The decline is a big issue with the brand, since the region provides 80 percent of the brand’s overall sales.

Google Trends also shows that searches for Michael Kors have declined five weeks straight, starting in June. Lewis said, “Once a brand is declared as too accessible and overexposed by its loyal customers, no amount of fashion trickery will bring it back.” Is this the end for Michael Kors?
