  • Melissa McCarthy Dishes On Redefining Beauty

Melissa McCarthy is on fire, with two major film releases already set to come out this year.

The 45-year-old actress is also a fashion designer and is working to redefine what constitutes beauty.

“With women, there’s this constant weird cultural thing where we’re always supposed to be comparing ourselves with one another — ‘who wore it best? Whose butt is better?’” the “Ghostbusters” star told Redbook magazine. “Instead, how about if everyone wins?”

“When we told her that we were taking the label ‘plus’ off of clothing in our issue, her response was ‘Oh my God, that’s amazing!’” said Meredith Rollins, Redbook’s editor-in-chief. “Let’s let readers know that it comes in their size, but why label them?”

McCarthy, who recently launched her own line of clothing, said beauty comes from a sense of confidence.

“When I feel good about my clothes, I look at the world a little differently,” she told Redbook. “A little bit of joy goes a long way.”

McCarthy is very outspoken about body-shamming and feeling comfortable within one’s own skin. She shares that conviction with her daughter and says she will defend her girl like a rabid dog if need by.

“Give me your best punch in the face, and I’ll take that punch, rather than have my kid feel bad about herself…,” said the I Spy actress. “There’s an epidemic in our country of girls and women feeling bad about themselves based on what .5% of the human race looks like. It starts very young. My message is that as long as everybody’s healthy, enjoy and embrace whatever body type you have.”

  • Melissa McCarthy Wants Women To Embrace Their Bodies, Graces Cover Of Redbook

Actress Melissa McCarthy has made a name for herself through her unique brand of physical comedy, but now she is expanding her image by advocating body positivity among women.

The funnywoman is the cover star of Redbook Magazine’s April issue, in which she can be seen rocking a flowy white blouse paired with white skintight pants, textured brown and beige blazer, and an extra-long necklace.

She is also noticeably sporting a slimmer physique, which can be attributed to the 45-year-old actress’ 75-pound weight drop earlier this year. In her fabulous photoshoot, McCarthy models pieces from her own fashion line called Seven7, which she sells on the Home Shopping Network (HSN).

In the interview, Melissa McCarthy tackles the age-old issue of body image in society. The plus-size actress, who has always exuded confidence despite the extreme pressure Hollywood puts on women to maintain a certain “skinny” body type, expressed her concern over the beauty standards that young people are exposed to.

“There’s an epidemic in our country of girls and women feeling bad about themselves based on what .5% of the human race looks like. It starts very young,” McCarthy says. My message is that as long as everybody’s healthy, enjoy and embrace whatever body type you have.”

The Bridesmaids star has two daughters of her own: Eight-year-old Vivian and six-year-old Georgette, whom she wishes will grow up to be comfortable in their own skin. Like any protective mom, Melissa McCarthy would rather get a black eye from someone than see her daughters hurt by people criticizing the way they look.

“Give me your best punch in the face, and I’ll take that punch, rather than have my kid feel bad about herself,” she told Redbook.

Aside from body image issues, Melissa McCarthy also weighed in on the idea of feminism in today’s society. She had some choice words for women who resent the term “feminist” and try to detach themselves from the concept.

“I always think, ‘Oh that sounds so dumb.’ And I don’t mean that in a hateful way,” she said. “It just sounds so ill-informed. Do you think women should be paid less? You don’t believe in equality for women? I think people have worked hard to put a negative spin on the word.”

  • Melissa McCarthy Hilarious in First All-Female “Ghostbusters” Trailer

Melissa McCarthy is beyond funny, as are Kate McKinnon, Kristen Wiig, and Leslie Jones in the first trailer released for the upcoming all-female remake of Ghostbusters.

The clip affords fans an initial peek at the paranormal team comprised of Melissa McCarthy and her cohorts as they embark on their “ghostbusting” duties.

Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig first thrilled fans with their comedy in the film Bridesmaids. Wiig is an SNL alum, while Jones and McKinnon are current members of the Saturday Night Live cast.

Ever since the idea of an all-female Ghostbusters hit the media, fans of the original, as well as fans of these ladies have been excited for its release. While that’s still a while off, this first trailer assures them their anticipation will be well worth the wait.

Are you a fan of Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones, and Kate McKinnon?

If so, you’re no doubt among those eagerly awaiting the July 15 network premiere of the all-female Ghostbusters.

  • Melissa McCarthy Hosts SNL For The Fourth – Not Fifth – Time

Melissa McCarthy thought that she was finally part of the illustrious five-timers club of Saturday Night Live when she celebrated a little too early during her opening monologue last Saturday. The comedienne launched into a song-and-dance number with background dancers hoisting her up as a huge number “5” was brought on stage. Unfortunately, cast member Kenan Thompson burst her bubble and reminded her that it’s only been four times since she’s hosted the famous NBC sketch show.

The Mike & Molly star showcased her unique brand of physical comedy in several sketches, and a handful of them were pretty strong in the laughs department. In the sketch called “Test Screening,” Melissa McCarthy plays a cinema audience member whose over-the-top reactions are captured on camera while watching a horror film.

Melissa McCarthy Cannot Handle a Horror Film

In another sketch entitled “Whiskers R We,” McCarthy joined SNL cast member Kate McKinnon as quirky cat ladies who star in their own ad for their cat rescue center. In this clip, McCarthy’s character tells the audience about the rather sinister back stories of their cats while not-so-subtly coming on to McKinnon’s character.

McCarthy Plays a Sexually Fluid Cat Lady

With the diversity debate in Hollywood being such a hot issue nowadays, an SNL episode would not be complete without a sketch about race. Melissa McCarthy played a clueless white woman seated next to a black woman (played by Leslie Jones) who rambles on and on about how she loves black film, especially Roots. Her politically incorrect musings puts Jones’ character – who tried desperately to get off the bus – on edge.

Melissa McCarthy Plays an Oblivious Racist White Woman

SNL also tackled the infamous and quite ridiculous “pick-up culture” that has been growing in popularity in the last couple of years. In this sketch, Melissa McCarthy played another awkward character named Rhonda, who joins a female pick-up class and tries – without success – to apply the teachings of her pick-up mentor, played by Cecily Strong. Her constant attempts at pursuing the same guy by shoving her fingers in her mouth was hardly attractive but she definitely got their attention.

  • “Gilmore Girls” Revival, Will Melissa McCarthy Reprise Sookie St. James Role in Netflix FOur-Part Series?

“Gilmore Girls” Revival, Will Melissa McCarthy Reprise Sookie St. James Role in Netflix FOur-Part Series?

The Gilmore Girls revival is underway, with Yanic Truesdale, who is reprising his role as Michel, posting a pic sharing his excitement.

It was only about a week ago that Lauren Graham–Lorelai Gilmore–confirmed that a four-part revival of the show, via Netflix, is a definite.

“We haven’t even started shooting and I haven’t even seen any of the scripts. So, all I can tell you is it is because of you, the devoted fans that I get to revisit this character and go back to this world,” she said. “And we are all so excited and so thankful.”

In addition to Lauren Graham and Yanic Truesdale, the Gilmore Girls revival will star series original Alexis Bledel (Rory Gilmore), in addition to Scott Patterson, Kelly Bishop, Keiko Agena, and Sean Gunn.

Avid Gilmore Girls fans are hoping Melissa McCarthy will also reprise her role as Sookie St. James. It seems, however, that she hasn’t been invited to join the others in the revival.

McCarthy thanked a fan who expressed her Sookie St. James sentiments via Twitter.

What’s your take on this? The Gilmore Girls isn’t complete without Sookie St. James. Why do you suppose Melissa McCarthy hasn’t been contacted to appear in the four new episodes?

Could it be the producers are simply a bit slow in getting everything organized?

Were you a Gilmore Girls fan? Do you agree that a revival of the show needs Sookie?

  • Kristen Wiig, Chris Hemsworth Featured in First Photos from Upcoming “Ghostbusters” Reboot

Kristen Wiig and Chris Hemsworth appear in the first photos to emerge from the set of the upcoming Ghostbusters reboot. Featured on the film’s website, Hemsworth plays the role of Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, and Kate McKinnon’s receptionist.

The reboot wrapped filming over the summer. Chris Hemsworth told Entertainment Weekly at the time that he “had a blast,” and “has never laughed so much.”

The first full trailer for Ghostbusters is set to air around the end of February.

The film is scheduled to hit theaters.

Fans who miss seeing Kristen Wiig on SNL are no doubt thrilled to known she will soon appear on the big screen.

Were you a fan of the original Ghostbusters? What’s your take on the reboot starring Melissa McCarthy, Chris Hemsworth, Kate McKinnon, Kristen Wiig, and Leslie Jones?

  • Melissa McCarthy Releases Statement On Show’s Cancellation

Melissa McCarthy released a statement via Twitter this week regarding the cancellation of her hit show, Mike And Molly, and said she’s heartbroken.

The television and film star says she would have done the show for “50 more years” if given the opportunity, and her sentiments were echoed by her cast mates. While it’s not clear why CBS chose to cut the show–after initially renewing it for a full sixth season, they shortened it to 13 episodes–actress Rondi Reed said that they have their reasons.

“Before you hear it elsewhere (and some already have) this is the Final and 6th Season of MIKE & MOLLY on CBS. It is also a shortened season (13 episodes) after the announced full renewal of 22 episodes back in March by the network… The network has it’s reasons, and I will not get into a debate, discussion, or campaign to get them to change their minds. I remain extremely grateful to have been a part of this and to have worked with a fabulous bunch of folks over the years. I have learned a lot about many things, including the Business we call Show. Also grateful for all the fans and for the personal support I have received over the (almost) 6 seasons,” Reed wrote on Facebook.

The show will return on January 6 as scheduled, and although it will be a much shorter season than originally planned, the showrunners say they will give everyone closure so that the ending is fitting for the story and for the actors’ hard work over the years.

Mike And Molly has been one of the longest running and most successful shows for CBS and launched Melissa McCarthy’s career into superstardom after she began moving back and forth between the series and some of Hollywood’s biggest movies. You can see her next in The Boss, due out in April.

  • Rondi Reed Announces “Mike & Molly” Cancellation on Her Facebook Page

Rondi Reed, one of the stars of CBS’s Mike & Molly, beat the network to the punch–announcing the cancellation of Mike & Molly via her Facebook page.

Rondi Reed didn’t just beat the network to their announcement, she also gave fans the reasons why the show was cancelled.

“The network has it’s reasons, and I will not get into a debate, discussion, or campaign to get them to change their minds. Other venues were explored by WB and Bonanza Productions (Chuck Lorre) after CBS announced their intentions, but did not turn up a future for our show,” she wrote. “It is a fact and we have known for a few weeks. I remain extremely grateful to have been a part of this and to have worked with a fabulous bunch of folks over the years. I have learned a lot about many things, including the Business we call Show. Also grateful for all the fans and for the personal support I have received over the (almost) 6 seasons. Stewart Talent has guided me every step of the way on this journey and for that I am also forever grateful,” she wrote.

Mike & Molly stars Melissa McCarthy and Billy Gardell as Mike and Molly. The couple met at a Chicago Overeaters Anonymous meeting and fell in love. Rondi Reed plays the role of Mike’s mom, Peggy. The show’s sixth season will begin in January. It was first aired in 2010.

Are you a Mike & Molly fan? Surely Melissa McCarthy will continue gracing the big screen with her hilarious presence, but Billy Gardell and Rondi Reed might not be so lucky.

Are you sad to see this sitcom end?

She received an Oscar nomination in 2011 for her role in Bridesmaids. Just last week she received her first-ever nomination for the Golden Globes for her role in Spy.

In addition to her acting career, Melissa McCarthy recently launched her own clothing line. The Melissa McCarthy Seven7 line is already boasting phenomenal sales.

“Uh, they were even cute in high school. Very proud to be nominated with these women for this year’s @peopleschoice award for favorite movie actress! #pcas,” Hathaway wrote on Instagram.

The evening is proving to be slated as a powerful statement to these powerful women.

Sandra Bullock, 51, and Scarlett Johansson, 30, have other nominations in Favorite Animated Movie Voice and Favorite Action Movie Actress, respectively, while Melissa McCarthy, 45, leads this A-list pack with two other nominations for Favorite Comedic Actress and Favorite Comedic Movie Actress.

Who wants to see Anne Hathaway’s own high school yearbook photo? We got you!

  • “Gilmore Girls” Returning: Netflix to Air Four New 90-Minute Episodes, Featuring Lauren Graham as Lorelai and Alexis Bledel as Rory

“Gilmore Girls” Returning: Netflix to Air Four New 90-Minute Episodes, Featuring Lauren Graham as Lorelai and Alexis Bledel as Rory

Gilmore Girls fans, rejoice. Lorelai and Rory are headed back to the small screen, thanks to Netflix. Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, and even more of the original Gilmore Girls cast will star in four 90-minute episodes to air on Netflix.

Wrapping in 2007, Gilmore Girls fans have never fully recovered from the loss of their weekly dose of the fast-talking mother-daughter pair whose antics and strife kept viewers completely enamored.

Originally on the WB before it moved to the CW for its final season, Gilmore Girls producer and series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino left before the show ended. She once admitted that the show didn’t wrap the way she had envisioned it. Instead she famously planned the show’s ending with four unrevealed words, but never had the chance to conclude Gilmore Girls on her own terms.

Some might fear this short, four-series reboot might ruin the legacy of Gilmore Girls. Those fans are told not to be concerned. Amy Sherman-Palladino promises there is no need to worry.

It is believed that production on the Netflix reboot of Gilmore Girls is set to start some time early in 2016. There’s been no word thus far on when the series will air.

One rumor surrounding the reboot that will no doubt be disappointing to diehard fans is that Melissa McCarthy, who played Sookie St. James on Gilmore Girls, isn’t likely to return.

Were you a Gilmore Girls fan? Are you excited beyond belief to see Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel reprise their roles as Lorelai and Rory Gilmore for this upcoming Netflix reboot?

  • Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, More Star in All-Female ‘Ghostbusters’

Kristen Wiig will join will fellow actresses Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones in comprising the all-female cast of the upcoming remake of Ghostbusters. Sony Pictures is set to release the film in July of 2016.

Director Paul Feig announced his stars by posting their photos on Twitter on Tuesday. The new film will update the original Ghostbusters from 1984, as well as the sequel from 1989.

Kristen Wiig is, of course, a Saturday Night Live alumni, and both Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones are part of the current SNL cast. Wiig and McCarthy starred together in the hilarious blockbuster hit Bridesmaids–also directed by Paul Feig.

The reboot of Ghostbusters has long been in the works, with the initial plan of having the original cast–Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Ernie Hudson, and Bill Murray. Aykroyd, Ramis, and Hudson had agreed to reprise their characters, but Bill Murray proved elusive, eventually saying he loved the idea of an all-female cast instead. Harold Ramis passed away last year.

Ghostbusters has certainly capitalized on some of the funniest women in comedy by casting Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones. The broad expanse of personalities alone suggests that while humor will prevail, these won’t be cookie cutter roles.

Filming is expected to begin on Ghostbusters this coming summer in New York City. So if there’s something strange in your neighborhood, who are you going to call?

You can start with Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones.

Will you be counting the months until July 2016?

  • Rebel Wilson, Melissa McCarthy Popular for Ghostbusters; Wilson Has Had Meeting

Rebel Wilson’s name has already been floated about as a fan favorite for an all-female Ghostbusters 3. Now the actress reveals that everyone’s wish just might be a step closer to coming true.

Rebel Wilson is already in the voice lineup for the upcoming Kung Fu Panda 3, as well as a remake of Private Benjamin. During the Today Show on Wednesday, Wilson told host Matt Lauer that she had met with Ghostbusters 3 director Paul Feig about the project.

“Look, I have had a meeting, but who knows?” Wilson said. “They have to look at the script when it’s finished.”

Lauer asked Wilson if Ghostbusters 3 producers had offered her a “money truck” to be in the film.

“I would even do that without the money truck,” she replied. “I’d do that for free. I probably shouldn’t say that live on TV.”

Feig has previously directed Rebel Wilson in Bridesmaids. Several people have suggested that he use some of his Bridesmaids cast in the new Ghostbusters.

When Bill Murray was asked about who he might like to see in an all-female cast Ghostbusters sequel, he mentioned Bridesmaids alum Melissa McCarthy, as well as Linda Cardellini and Emma Stone.

MTV had a lot of fun asking different celebrities they were interviewing for other projects about who they would like to see in the new Ghostbusters.

Julianne Moore wants to play the Annie Potts receptionist character herself. Kristen Wiig was another popular pick. But loads of people want Bill Murray to have a cameo.

Rebel Wilson’s role as Fat Amy in Pitch Perfect earned her an MTV Movie Award for Best Breakthrough performance in 2013. She also hosted the Awards that year. Her stock is rising, for sure. If she and Melissa McCarthy, whose name has also been mentioned time and time again, were to both make the cast, it would make a lot of people happy.

  • Melissa McCarthy To Launch All Sizes Clothing Line

Melissa McCarthy took the world by storm with her infectious brand of comedy. Now the actress will be venturing into the world of fashion design when she announced that she will be launching a new clothing line next year. While the line is still unnamed, McCarthy said that it will cater to all sizes, something that McCarthy thinks is lacking in fashion. “[I’ve been] every size on the planet. I have experience dressing me as a 6, a 12 and more,” McCarthy told Women’s Wear Daily. “And when you go above a size 12, you don’t lose your love of fashion.”

And McCarthy has the credentials to actually pull this off. Before becoming a comedienne, McCarthy moved to New York from Illinois to attend the Fashion Institute of Technology. McCarthy admits that fashion has been something that she’s always been interested in ever since she was a child. “It’s something I’ve done since grade school. I’d lay on the floor, look through Vogue and cut out patterns. It was everything I ever wanted to do,” the Emmy winner said.

Melissa adds, “I loved the playfulness of fashion. I think maybe that’s why I became an actress. You put on one outfit and feel one way, and another one will make you feel another way. Clothes are a wonderful tool.”

McCarthy’s designs will be launching in time for the fall 2015 season. The initial designs will focus mainly on sportswear for all sizes, but McCarthy plans on branching out on more designs and products in the future. The Bridesmaids star teamed up with American Rag for this endeavor. “I’d been looking for two, three, maybe four years for manufacturers to help us do this line,” she says of the collaboration. “But after we met with like American Rag Sunrise we felt they were committed to changing the plus-size game.”

  • Allison Janney, Anna Faris to Host 2015’s People’s Choice Awards

Allison Janney and Anna Faris are set to host the 2015’s People’s Choice Awards, announced the awards show’s executive producer Mark Burnett on Wednesday.

The Mom co-stars will succeed the 2014 host, Kaley Cuoco, in hosting the awards show, which recognizes talent in the arenas of television, film, and music.

“We are thrilled to have Anna and Allison as hosts of our show,” said Burnett. “Our job is to entertain our audience, and these actresses have such chemistry and comedic timing that no matter who wins, everyone will be having fun.”

Mom, a CBS comedy co-created by Chuck Lorre, debuted in 2013 and showcased Janney and Faris’ comedic talents and their on-screen chemistry.

Janney got her big break came with her portrayal of White House Press Secretary CJ Cregg in the critically acclaimed series The West Wing, for which she won four Emmy Awards and four SAG Awards.

The statuesque actress recently broke records for receiving the most award nods in a single year, receiving both an Emmy and a Critic’s Choice Award for her work on Mom and another Emmy and Critic’s Choice Award for her multi-episode arc on the series, Masters of Sex.

Her film credits include The Way, Way Back, Tammy and Bad Words, among many, many more.

Over 70 million fans voted to determine this year’s nominees. Shailene Woodley leads the list of movie nominations with four acting nods. She was nominated twice in the category of “Favorite Movie Duo,” once with her Divergent co-star Theo James, and again with her The Fault in Our Stars co-star, Ansel Elgort. Grey’s Anatomy, Supernatural and The Vampire Diaries lead the list of TV nominees with five each.

Sam Smith dominated the music categories with four nominations and two stars crossed genres — Lucy Hale for “Favorite Female Country Artist” and “Favorite Cable TV Actress”, and Melissa McCarthy for “Favorite Movie Actress” and “Favorite Comedic TV Actress.”

Voting begins today for all 58 categories on www.PeoplesChoice.com, Facebook, and mobile applications. Voting will end at 11:59 p.m. on Dec. 4, 2014. Winners will be revealed during a live broadcast from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2015, on CBS.

  • Bill Murray Talks All-Female ‘Ghostbusters’ Cast

Bill Murray starred in Ghostbusters thirty years ago, and he doesn’t want to star in any future Ghostbusters productions. However, that hasn’t stopped the funny man and actor from discussing the possibility of a remake with an all-female cast. And what an amazing cast that would be.

“I’m fine with it; I’d go to that movie,” he said during an interview with The Toronto Star at the Toronto International Film Festival, where his drama/comedy with Melissa McCarthy, St. Vincent, premiered. “They’d probably have better outfits, too.”

Bill Murray even shared the names that immediately came to mind when he imagined that Ghostbusters all-female cast.

“Melissa (McCarthy) would be a spectacular Ghostbuster,” Murray said, mentioning his latest co-star first. “And Kristen Wiig is so funny. God, she’s funny!”

Word spread quickly, it seems, throughout those present at the Toronto International Film Festival.

    That’s not all, however.

“I like this (Mad Men’s) Linda Cardellini a lot. And Emma Stone is funny. There are some funny girls out there,” he added.

    Kristen Wiig even replied.

Do you suppose Sony will heed Bill Murray’s suggestions and produce a new Ghostbusters with his all-female list of characters? It would likely have a box office draw, but probably nothing compared to the original.

Ghostbusters was a supernatural comedy film, first released in 1984. It was written by Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis, and in addition to Bill Murray, starred Dan Akyroyd, and Harold Ramis. The film was originally scripted to include parts for John Belushi and John Candy. John Belushi’s death and Candy not opting in forced some re-writing. A huge box office success, Ghostbusters was nominated for two Oscars, but didn’t win.

Bill Murray and Melissa McCarthy will appear in theaters next month in St. Vincent, where Murray plays the role of a retired, drunken war veteran–who also likes to gamble. McCarthy’s character–his new neighbor–recruits him to watch over her 12-year-old son. Murray’s character’s ideas of after-school entertainment are vastly different from those of McCarthy’s.

While fans might be a bit disappointed to learn Bill Murray won’t appear on the big screen in a new Ghostbusters, they will no doubt enjoy seeing him alongside Melissa McCarthy. St. Vincent opens in U.S. theaters on October 10th, and looks to be perfect vintage Murray–almost akin to his What About Bob? persona.

  • Bill Murray’s Dream All-Female ‘Ghostbusters’ Cast Includes Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, and Emma Stone

Bill Murray isn’t likely to star in a new Ghostbusters movie any time soon, but that doesn’t preclude him from sharing his thoughts on who he would cast in an all-female reboot of the classic 80s film.

Murray revealed his thoughts on the rumored all-female Ghostbusters movie that Sony is said to be considering while at the Toronto International Film Festival this week.

While Murray has nixed starring in any more Ghostbusters films, he’s certainly not against an all-female version of the hit movies.

“I’m fine with it; I’d go to that movie,” Murray told The Toronto Star at the TIFF premier of his film, St. Vincent, which also stars Melissa McCarthy. “They’d probably have better outfits, too.”

Speaking of McCarthy, Murray thinks the 44-year-old Tammy actress would be perfect in the film.

“Melissa would be a spectacular Ghostbuster,” Murray said. “And Kristen Wiig is so funny. God, she’s funny!”

    He didn’t stop there.

“I like this Linda Cardellini (of Mad Men) a lot,” he said. “And Emma Stone is funny. There are some funny girls out there.”

McCarthy seems to think the idea of a reboot may actually materialize, but has not received offers from the studio.

“I think that somebody is really trying to do it, but nobody has talked to me about it,” she said. “Listen, if the people I think are doing it are doing it, I must never question them.”

Walking in the footsteps of the original cast members seems like a particularly challenging proposition for The Heat actress, but says working with the women on Murray’s list would be a dream come true.

“Oh, my God, that’s daunting. That’s taking on a legend, a legendary movie. But I would do anything with those ladies, anything at all,” she gushed.

In August, Sony was reportedly considering the idea of a reboot, with Bridesmaids director Paul Feig at the helm.

Chelsea Handler was butt naked when confronted in a shower by Ellen DeGeneres. Of course the whole thing was staged and filmed, but the conversation between the two was a perfect example of very dry (even though the shower was wet) humor.

On the series finale of Handler’s late night show, Chelsea Lately, the clip involves Ellen asking Chelsea Hander why she was never once invited to be a guest on her show. Chelsea does her best to convince Ellen that she, too, is a lesbian, and that she has been ‘binge-watching’ Ellen’s 1990s sitcom. DeGeneres questions her method of ‘binge-watching’ when Chelsea admits she’s only up to season two.

Ellen’s hug with Chuy Bravo at the end of the clip is beyond priceless.

Of course Chelsea Handler’s nude shower confrontation with Ellen DeGeneres didn’t mark the first time she was nude in the shower with another celebrity. Check out this nude shower scene with Conan O’Brien.

Lots of big name celebrities including Gwen Stefani, Avril Lavigne, Tim Gunn, Gerard Butler, Sandra Bullock, Melissa McCarthy, Jennifer Aniston, Miley Cyrus, and more serenaded Chelsea Handler in honor of your last episode.

“Goodbye E!, it’s time to move on,” they sang. “She wants to sing, she wants to dance, and get her groove on.”

Chelsea Handler captioned this Instagram shot, “It’s over!”

It really isn’t over for fans, however. For those who think she’s worth the wait, Chelsea Handler will have a new talk show on Netflix starting in 2016.

  • Sandra Bullock to Star as Brownie Wise in Adaption of ‘Tupperware Unsealed’

Sandra Bullock is set to play marketing pioneer Brownie Wise in Tate Taylor’s adaptation of Tupperware Unsealed, Sony Pictures announced Friday.

Taylor — whose latest credits include The Help and Get On Up — will write and direct the yet-untitled film, which is based on Bob Kealing’s nonfiction book about the woman who concocted the Tupperware party marketing strategy.

“As a writer-director, Tate has the rare and delicate ability to capture both the romanticism and restrictions of a time and place — in this case 1950s suburban America,” said Hannah Minghella, the president of production at Sony. “His characters are both immediately recognizable while also uniquely iconic.”

The book tells the story of Wise, “the driving force behind making Tupperware a household name” and the first woman to appear on the cover of Business Week. The 50s-housewife-turned-businesswoman’s “party plan” marketing strategy was to sell products by inviting friends and acquaintances to social events, accompanied by a presentation of her products.

“Sandy and I have been trying to work together for years,” Tate added in the statement. “Finally, I’m very excited to put Tupperware in her hands. This is a collaborative dream come true.”

According to Deadline Hollywood, the story will focus on Wise’s start and include tensions between the businesswoman and Tupperware founder, Earl Silas Tupper.

Tupper hired Wise in 1951, but tensions rose when she started getting so much attention for her Tupperware parties. He later fired her after other companies wanted to buy him as sales increased because of her strategy. Apparently, Tupper believed that having a woman executive would make the company less attractive to potential buyers. He sold the company for $16M and gave Wise a mere $35,000.

Other projects in the works for the Gravity actress include voicing Scarlett Overkill in The Minions and co-starring with Melissa McCarthy in The Heat 2.
