  • McKayla Maroney Reportedly Underage In Nude Photos

McKayla Maroney is pretty angry about her nude photos being leaked this weekend.

Her photos were stolen by a hacker and released along with those of other celebrities like Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton, Lea Michele, Gabrielle Union, Hayden Panettiere, Hilary Duff, Mary-Kate Olsen, Selena Gomez, and Kirsten Dunst.

Of course, all of these ladies are at some level of anger or another. Kaley Cuoco managed to (sort of) laugh the situation off, but McKayla Maroney has another very serious reason to be upset, according to TMZ.

Not only were nude photos of her posted on porn sites all over the web, Maroney was allegedly underage when those photos were taken.

Now, she has reportedly become involved in a legal battle to get the pics removed. Unfortunately, millions of people have already seen them.

However, that doesn’t seem to be stopping her legal team from fighting.

McKayla Maroney’s legal team has reportedly sent letters to various pornography websites like Porn.com insisting that Maroney owns the copyright to the images. They are also demanding that the sites remove the pictures because she is underage in them.

Maroney, who just turned 18 in December, has insisted that the photos on the websites are fake, but her legal action seems to say otherwise. It has been suggested that perhaps parts of the photos are real, while other parts are fake.

Either way, if the photos prove to be taken before Maroney was 18, it could easily lead to child pornography charges against the sites that posted her stolen pictures. This is quite a mess for McKayla Maroney to be dealing with and a shock for all involved.

Hopefully these women, especially McKayla Maroney, can get this situation rectified as soon as possible so that they can have some peace. Until the next time their private photos are stolen, anyway.

  • McKayla Maroney: Stolen Nude Photos Were Taken When She Was a Minor

Hacked nude photos of Olympic gymnast McKayla Maroney were taken when she was a minor, according to TMZ.

Several porn sites reposted the photos of the now 18-year-old gymnast after her photos were initially posted on chan4 by the anonymous hackers.

TMZ reports that an attorney representing Maroney sent a letter to Porn.com demanding the site remove the photos immediately because several of them were taken when she was underage.

A different attorney reportedly sent a separate letter to multiple websites stating Maroney owns the copyright on the stolen photos.

Maroney has claimed the photos are fake in Twitter posts, but the legal action by her attorneys may indicate that at least parts of the photos are authentic.

A rep for Porn.com reportedly told TMZ that they removed the pics upon receipt of the letter from Maroney’s attorney.

Several other A-list celebrities have taken legal action following the massive breach, including Jennifer Lawrence and Kate Upton.

Meanwhile, Apple denied that the photos were hacked through a breach in Apple’s systems, including iCloud or Find my iPhone.

“When we learned of the theft, we were outraged and immediately mobilized Apple’s engineers to discover the source,” the company said in a statement.

“We have discovered that certain celebrity accounts were compromised by a very targeted attack on user names, passwords and security questions, a practice that has become all too common on the Internet.

“None of the cases we have investigated has resulted from any breach in any of Apple’s systems,” the statement said.

  • McKayla Maroney Wows the Cast and Crew of ‘Bones’

McKayla Maroney exercised her acting muscles and landed a guest spot on Bones. The episode aired Friday night–and the gymnast proved she has some pretty amazing acting skills. A long time fan of the show, Maroney jumped at the chance to attend the casting call that resulted in the part.

“I had strep throat when I went in. I didn’t know my lines or anything!” she says. “I kind of just winged it. I honestly had no idea how I did. … So when I got the part, I was so excited.”

The cast and crew of the hit Fox series were impressed with how quickly Maroney caught the acting bug. After all–she’s not an actor. McKayla Maroney did perform some gymnastic feats during Friday night’s episode, but none of the signature high-flying vaults that earned her Olympic gold.

“I probably would’ve done some vaulting, but they didn’t have any set up for the level that I am. They were all for younger gymnasts,” she says. “It’s more acting-based. I had to do gymnastics, like I did a round of handspring layouts, which I do every day in the gym and isn’t hard for me to do. But it was very hard for me to be ready to do gymnastics and then be ready to act. I would do a tumbling pass and then have to talk. But that’s how it’s supposed to be, like I’m in the gym and it’s OK if I’m out of breath. It was an amazing experience. I had so much fun. Everyone was so nice.”

Twitter fans eagerly awaited Friday night’s episode of Bones to see McKayla Maroney in her guest role.

McKayla shared an Instagram photo about the show.

Did you catch McKayla Maroney as she made her flying leap from gymnastics to acting on Friday night’s episode of Bones–sharing lines with Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz? Is there a future there for the Olympic gymnast or should she hang on to her day job for a while yet instead?

  • McKayla Maroney To Appear On Episode of “Bones”

Olympic gold medalist, McKayla Maroney, went into the audition for a character on Bones while having a severe sore throat and not having rehearsed her lines. She never dreamed that she would land the part, but she did and will be appearing on tonight’s episode.

“I had strep throat when I went in. I didn’t know my lines or anything!” Maroney told TVGuide.com. “I kind of just winged it. I honestly had no idea how I did. … So when I got the part, I was so excited.”

Her character is obviously a gymnast, and is the prime suspect in her rival’s murder. “The plot is so crazy,” Maroney said. “It’s funny because a lot of people have been tweeting me, ‘I always knew she was a little dangerous. Of course she’d go in for this. Of course she’s a suspect.’”

Even though her character is a gymnast on the show, this opportunity called for Maroney to show off more of her acting skills rather than the gymnastics that she is know for.

Maroney doesn’t say whether or not her character is guilty, but she does say that she can definitely relate to her. “She wants to be the best, which I can relate to, and [Amanda] was her top competition. When this happens, she’s scared and freaked out,” Maroney said. “The weird thing is, when I was on set, it was really emotional because a little part of you thinks, ‘What if this happened at my gym?’ It’s scary.”

To see Maroney in action, watch tonight’s episode of Bones at 8/7c on Fox.

  • McKayla Maroney Halloween Costume By Bell’s Palsy Patient

Most of us know McKayla Maroney from her success in the London 2012 Olympics as part of the United States’ Women’s Gymnastics Team; however, the facial mannerisms that she has displayed throughout the course of the Olympics have made her an Internet meme sensation. One person was inspired by the commonly known “not impressed” look by Maroney and decided to base her Halloween costume around it.

The smirk that Maroney always made during the presentation of medals is what sparked her as a popular Internet meme figure, commonly referred to as “McKayla Maroney Is Not Impressed.” According to DeadSpin.com, this Internet meme inspired Leslie Barrett, a recently diagnosed Bell’s Palsy patient, to create her Halloween costume based on Maroney’s well-known crossed-arms-and-smirk look.

Even though Halloween was almost two weeks ago (according to the date of this article), this did not stop Barrett to pose in a stance almost identical to the pose used in the well-known Internet meme and publish it to a McKayla Maroney fan-based Facebook page. Within Barrett’s submission of the picture (shown above) to the Facebook page, she placed the following description.

“Two months ago I was diagnosed with Bell’s Palsy, which means the right side of my face is temporarily paralyzed and I can only express emotion on my left. Last week at a party someone pointed out that I normally look like your “not impressed” face. I decided to incorporate my disability into my Halloween costume and dress up as you. This has hands down been the best costume I’ve ever had. It was the first time in months I got to look like I was intentionally making a face and it has helped me deal with the slow recovery a little better.”

Barrett submitted the picture to Facebook on November 2nd, and the Facebook post for this picture currently has 21 shares and 237 likes. The Halloween costume picture by Barrett has also sparked the attention of various Twitter users.

  • McKayla Maroney Is Somewhat Impressed By Her Meme

Team USA gymnast McKayla Maroney has been a pretty good sport about becoming the internet’s most-prevalent meme. In London, the vault expert was caught on camera with a rather prickly expression on her face shortly after being awarded the silver medal in the women’s vault final. Subsequently, her “meh” face blew up on the interwebs, as photoshoppers decided to place her unimpressed look in various pop culture situations.

Shopped photos began appearing on reddit, and eventually “MehKayla” found herself the subject of her own Tumblr blog called McKayla is not impressed.

Ever since, she’s played nice – discussing her memedom with the media and tweeting about it. I mean, a small part of her has to be annoyed that this is why she’s an internet star. After all, she did win a gold medal…

But it’s funny. And even if the internet continues to beat it like the dead horse that we know it can be, it’ll still be remembered as funny – at least for a brief time.

Now, it looks like McKayla has found her favorite version of the McKayla not impressed meme:

The Instagram photo shows the unimpressed gymnast in the middle of a famous Charlie Brown scene (seen above).

It even looks like her parents are getting in on the fun:

“It is pretty funny,” she recently told David Letterman.

Being a meme is both an honor and a chore, but most people take it pretty well. Famous meme subjects like Bad luck Brian and Scumbag Steve have participated in reddit AMAs. Astrophysicist Neil DeGrasse Tyson (watch out, we got a badass over here) once said that being a meme was “initially really weird and creepy.”

“..And then I said well, this in total is a celebration so I should not object.”

    A celebration, indeed.

  • McKayla Maroney Finds Her Memes Mildly Amusing

McKayla Maroney has been the talk of this year’s Olympic games, partly for her superb vaults and partly because of her facial expressions, which range from disappointed to just-plain-pissed-off. The looks have earned her a “mean girl” title, but as Maroney explained on “Today” this morning, they’re not about anyone but her.

“It wasn’t the silver that I was disappointed about. I was just disappointed in what happenend and how I performed. I really wanted to be able to hit both my vaults but I ended up falling on my second one,” she said. “I was just disappointed with myself, not the silver medal. It’s amazing to even be here and be on this team and compete for [the] USA.”

Since the now-infamous photo was snapped of Maroney’s perturbed expression during the medals ceremony where she took silver, she’s become a popular meme across Tumblr, which she thinks is funny.

“This tumblr is kinda funny,” the gymnast tweeted. “Made me laugh.”

  • McKayla Maroney Stumbles But Is Still Awesome

McKayla Maroney seemed to have the gold in the bag this week, and after another near-perfect vault–which held the single highest vault score in the finals–spectators probably assumed it was a sure thing yesterday.

However, something happened. Whether it was nerves or just sheer exhaustion, McKayla stumbled on the second vault and landed on her backside, which earned her the silver medal instead of the gold everyone expected her to get. She took it like a champ, but anyone watching could see that she was mentally kicking herself for making such a costly mistake.

But no worries, McKayla; you’ve wowed everyone sufficiently enough to make jaws drop and gotten so much air during your vaults that you will forever be remembered as the Girl Who Could Fly during this year’s Olympics. Don’t be so hard on yourself.

  • McKayla Maroney Headed For The Gold On Her Own

McKayla Maroney helped lead the U.S. gymnastics team to a huge win yesterday, and now she’s headed towards one of her very own.

As one of the “Fierce Five”, she helped secure the gold for her team with her Amanar vault, a routine so complicated it can only be executed by a few people in the entire world. Now, with the impressive scores she earned with her teammates, she’s got her eyes trained on a goal for herself, and most think she’s got it in the bag despite a small foot injury. But such things don’t concern an Olympic athlete.

“It’s like no pain, no gain. You just ignore what’s there and do your job,” Maroney said. “Everybody goes through stuff like this and you just have to kind of accept it and take it as it is and just do the best that you can with it.”

When the Russian team failed to get the high scores expected of them, the Fierce Five could almost feel the gold around their necks, yet they didn’t let themselves get over-confident. Rather, they pushed through and made sure they gave 100% to their routines like any true Olympic athletes would.

“It was the best feeling to be up there and watch that flag go up,” Maroney said. “I’ve pictured it. And it was pretty close to what I pictured. It was just the best feeling.”
