  • Sarah Jessica Parker: ‘Sex and the City’s’ Carrie Bradshaw Turns 50

Sarah Jessica Parker, probably best known for her role as Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City, turns 50 today. The show began its run on HBO back in 1998 and continued through 2004. The show also brought Sarah Jessica Parker, along with her costars Cynthia Nixon, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis, and Chris Noth to the big screen–on more than one occasion.

Parker got her start in acting when she starred on Broadway in Annie. Prior to marrying Ferris Bueller star Matthew Broderick, she dated celebrities including John F. Kennedy, Jr. and Robert Downey, Jr.

Despite her success in Sex and the City, Sarah Jessica Parker always felt like she was so much more than just an actor on an Emmy Award-winning show. A wife and mother of son James Wilkie Broderick, who is now 13, and twins Marion Loretta Elwell Broderick and Tabitha Hodge Broderick, who are now almost six, she has a very busy life outside of work–which seems to have taken a backseat to her parenting duties since Sex and the City ended.

Sarah Jessica Parker has long resembled Carrie Bradshaw in one specific way–her amazing sense of style.

Are you among those who are likely finding it incredibly hard to believe that Sarah Jessica Parker is 50? What do you suppose Matthew Broderick and their children will do to celebrate her big day?

  • Sarah Jessica Parker May Reconnect With Ex Robert Downey Jr.

Sex And The City star Sarah Jessica Parker might meet up with her old flame Robert Downey Jr. soon, and it’s all okay with husband Matthew Broderick. Apparently, Parker is being sought out by Downey for a reunion, but only if Broderick allows it.

Downey spoke about Parker, with whom he had a seven-year relationship from their teens to their mid-20s, during an interview with Howard Stern on his SiruisXm radio Show on October 7. “I’ll make a point of trying to see her while I’m here. I’d like to,” said Downey. “I’ll ask [Broderick’s] permission. I just want to check in for a few minutes. I love Matthew Broderick.”

“’I’d love to have [Matthew] there. I’ll bring Susan,” Downey added, referring to his wife Susan Downey, with whom he is expecting their second child together.

On the same day of Downey’s interview with Stern, Parker was seen out in New York City taking her twin daughters to school. Parker was reportedly wearing a knitted gray turtleneck paired with black sweatpants while comfortably walking in green sneakers.

Meanwhile, Broderick has already given his blessing to the reunion between Downey and Parker. He told Us Weekly at the opening of his new play It’s Only A Play on Broadway last October 9 that he would be okay with Downey contacting Parker.

“Of course, he’s more than [okay to connect her]—they’re great friends! What would I say? No? Who do you think I am? No, I love Robert Downey and Sarah Jessica Parker so [yes!]” Broderick said.

Parker weighed in on the possible reunion with Downey as well. “He and I have always been on wonderful terms so… of course I’m hospitable to that!” she said.

If the reunion between Parker and Downey happens this year, it will have been 23 years since they called it quits from each other in 1991.

  • Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick Selling NYC Townhouse: You Gotta See Her Closet

Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick are selling their gorgeous Greenwich Village townhouse, according to Zillow.

The power couple bought the trendy brownstone for $18.995 million in 2011.

Parker and Broderick first placed the beyond-amazing townhouse on the market in 2012. They later removed it from the market and just recently relisted it for $22 million.

Listed by Fredrik Eklund of Douglas Elliman, the historic, 25-foot-wide townhouse boasts 6,800 square feet, seven fireplaces, a Juliet balcony, a hand-carved stone bathtub, an amazing ping-pong table, a landscaped garden and lots of built-in bookcases.

Everything about the home is as classy as Parker herself, but that closet is a closet worthy of her Sex in the City character, Carrie.

Let’s just begin with that closet, shall we?

Here’s a shot from Carrie’s closet Sex in the City:

Warning: the viewing of these photos could lead to a serous bout of house-envy.

Anyone in the market for this beauty?

Ok people, you can close your mouths now.

  • Ferris Bueller Glass House Sells for $1.06 Million

The glass and steel house featured in the 1986 iconic film, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, finally sold after being on the market for more than five years.

According to real estate brokerage Coldwell Banker Previews International, the beyond-cool, two-story home located in the Highland Park area of Chicago sold for $1.06 million.

One would imagine the house — designed by James Speyer and David Haid — would sell quickly but apparently the downward trend in the real estate market in the past few years delayed the sale of the house.

Craig Hogan, director of Coldwell Banker Previews International, the brokerage’s luxury division, said the house sold at half the original listing price of $2.3 million.

The Ben Rose Home that Hogan describes as “two glass cubes that are positioned over a ravine,” is often featured as one of the most interesting homes in the Chicago area.

“You have to want to live there,” Hogan said. “Fortunately, we found a couple who do — they’re in love with that style.”

The house was featured as a garage holding a Ferrari in the John Hughes film.

In the film, Ferris (Matthew Broderick) and his friend Cameron decide to play hooky from school, steal the car and take it for a joyride around Chicago. They later crash the Ferrari into the house.

  • Sarah Jessica Parker: Shoes, Bags and Clothes

Sarah Jessica Parker will have a new line of shoes, bags and clothing launching soon at Nordstrom stores and Nordstrom.com. The Sex and the City star’s character Carrie Bradshaw was known for her love of everything haute couture–especially her beloved Manolo Blahnik heels–so how surprising is it that Parker has designed a line of her own? It’s probably not a huge surprise for her fans–but a welcome announcement just the same.

Not all Nordstrom stores will carry the new Sarah Jessica Parker collection, but all pieces will be available online. The collection is set to launch on February 28th.

Parker’s shoes were made in Italy and the premiere line will feature 25 styles. They will range in price from $195 to $500 per pair. It seems her line has been based on Carrie Bradshaw’s taste. Her debut line of handbags will cost between $245 and $375. Her initial clothing debut will include just one piece–a trench coat. It will sell for $495 and is available in either navy blue or natural.

The actress, who is married to Ferris Bueller star Matthew Broderick, is also a busy mom. She tweeted her excitement over her new fashion line launch.

She shared a fun Instagram photo with her fans as well.

While Sarah Jessica Parker is certainly making headlines as a fashion designer, she also made news recently when talking about the prospect of a third Sex and the City film. She says two of her costars are up for a new movie as well.

“A part of me thinks there is one last chapter to tell,” Parker said in an interview with InStyle magazine. “But timing is a peculiar thing. It isn’t a decision that can wait forever. I don’t want to have to wear muumuus!”

Kristin Davis played Charlotte on Sex and the City. She had the following to say about a possible third movie.

“I would want to do it,” she said during an interview with ET. “I’m on record — I’ll be on record again — I feel like it’s the gift that keeps on giving. Our fans are beautiful and loyal and talk to me wherever I go, and in whatever country I’m in, and that means a lot to all of us. So if the situation arose where we had a script and everyone loved it, and the studio wanted to make it, I think that it would be fantastic and I hope it happens but I have no idea if it will happen.”

A third Sex and the City film would no doubt thrill fans. Do you suppose Sarah Jessica Parker could arrange for the characters to wear her new line of shoes, handbags and clothing?

  • Ferris Bueller Honda Ad Is Matthew Broderick’s Day Off

Last week, a ten second clip of Matthew Broderick recreating a scene from Ferris Bueller’s Day Off led to speculations that there could be a sequel in the works – a revelation that thrilled some fans of the old film and disappointed others.

It was soon revealed that the teaser clip didn’t actually have anything to do with a sequel, but was simply a teaser for a Super Bowl ad from Honda. We reported that the ad would indeed star Matthew Broderick and involved the recreation of at least a few scenes from the original film.

Well, now it’s here and available to watch in its entirety, via the Honda YouTube channel. Take a look at “Matthew’s Day Off,” which starts with Broderick calling in sick – to his agent.

To celebrate the launch of the all-new 2012 CR-V, Honda brought Ferris Bueller’s Day Off back in a big game commercial. We cast Matthew Broderick as himself, skipping out on a day of acting work and living it up in his all-new CR-V. Relive movie history with Honda’s fresh twist and wonderful homage to this ’80s classic.

Think you’re a true fan of Ferris Bueller’s Day Off? We hid over two dozen references to the movie throughout the commercial. Some are obvious, some are VERY subtle. See how many you can find.

How many did you spot? The “life goes by fast” quote? The parade? The scummy valet and his car jump?

I think it’s a pretty good ad, sure to be one of the most-talked about on Super Bowl Sunday. However, there’s already some blowback coming from viewers of the ad. Here are the top-voted comments on Youtube:

Thanks for ruining my childhood dreams, with a crappy SUV.

Very glad I got to post the first comment…I can’t explain how disappointed I am. Don’t know if I’m just an idiot but for some reason I thought the 10 second teaser was a trailer for a Ferris Bueller 2, not a stupid Honda commercial. At this point I just can’t believe Matthew Broderick would allow anyone to use the priceless movie to advertise a car. Wow.

What do you think? Childhood-ruiner or good, nostalgic advert? Let us know in the comments.
