  • Kirstie Alley Advises Older Men to Stop Being ‘So Freaking Boring’

Kirstie Alley is looking fine after her 50-pound weight loss, leaving her single and ready to mingle.

However, the 64-year-old actress seems to be having some trouble finding men that leave her breathless. Instead, they apparently leave her ready for a snooze.

To help the fellas of a certain age out there, Kirstie offered some advice via Entertainment Tonight.

“I wanted to say something to men over 45. Don’t be so freaking boring!” Alley said. “Don’t have the life already sucked out of you.”

While her words may seem harsh, the Cheers actress says she would rather date someone her own age… if only they would be a little more interesting and fun.

“All it does is leave women to date young men and be really embarrassed, because we are dating guys in tank tops,” Alley continued.” I want some men around my age that aren’t boring, and act like they are tired.”

Alley’s dramatic weight loss was announced last year. At the time, she said she was ready to “hook up,” and while she was out in the dating arena, she was just not finding “the one.”

Alley made a resolution in 2014 to drop 30 pounds and revealed on the Today show that she finished out the year a full 50 pounds lighter.

“I lost it on Jenny Craig,” she told Matt Lauer.

And she has kept it off.

“This time it’s different,” Kirstie Alley said at the time. “My goal is to keep this and maintain this throughout my life. … I feel like I’ve conquered that now. I’m sort of hardheaded. You know, when I used to do drugs, it took me a while to quit, quit, quit — and then it was done. And I feel like that’s occurred for me [with my weight now].”

  • Ellen DeGeneres Initiates New Round of Prank Wars With Matt Lauer

Ellen DeGeneres has initiated a new round of prank wars with Today show host Matt Lauer.

Although the daytime talk show host made a (tongue-in-cheek it appears) 2016 new year’s resolution to no longer prank Lauer, she lasted all of about 30 seconds on that resolution.

As reported by Entertainment Weekly, the two spent much of 2015 pranking each other on television, much to the amusement of fans. But DeGeneres vowed to stop the pranks against Lauer in 2016.

On Tuesday’s episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Ellen shared her vow and the subsequent breaking of that vow.

“I made a resolution in 2016, I was not going to mess with Matt Lauer anymore,” DeGeneres announced to the audience. “Instead, I’ll just show you this clip of him interviewing Adele.”

In the video, Lauer is seen getting way too intimate with the British singer.

It seems this little video may have initiated a new rounds of pranks. While Lauer laughed off the prank on the Today show, he said he just might have to go “back to billboards,” referring to a prank he pulled on DeGeneres by placing ads of the talk show host on billboards around Los Angeles advertising her plumbing services.

Other past pranks have included the comedienne creating a videos of Lauer’s 50 Shades of Grey fetishes and of him stripping down for the Daytime Emmys thanks to DeGeneres’ editing skills. Lauer replied by filling DeGeneres’ car with Styrofoam peanuts.

How do you think Matt Lauer should answer Ellen DeGeneres’ latest prank?

  • Amy Schumer Jokes About Golden Globes Nominations

Amy Schumer isn’t particularly reverent about anything, so it shouldn’t come as any surprise that she was recently joking about her Golden Globes nominations, too.

It was earlier this week that the funny woman learned she earned not just one-but two–nominations for her summer film Trainwreck.

“It feels so good. It’s like, it really feels good and I’m proud of what I accomplished, but yeah, really, it is more about the revenge,” she said Friday during a phone-in interview with Today’s Savannah Guthrie.

“I want to really thank the Hollywood Foreign Press, but more than that, there are people I want to say ‘no thank you’ to–how much time do we have left on the show?” Amy Schumer joked.

Both Savannah Guthrie and Matt Lauer asked Amy Schumer for cameos if there’s a Trainwreck 2.

“We’ll look at your audition tapes but the demand is high, so I don’t know,” she said.

Savannah Guthrie offered Amy Schumer a nude scene from Matt Lauer.

“I picture Matt nude but still wearing his socks and loafers,” Amy Schumer said. “Give the people what they want!”

Shortly after learning of her Golden Globes nominations, Amy Schumer shared a throwback pic on social media.

People love Amy Schumer for her comedy, but also for how she doesn’t appear to take herself too seriously. Would you have expected anything different from Amy Schumer when learned she’d been nominated for two Golden Globes?

If fans expected a parade wave and a list of “thank you’s,” then they really don’t get Amy Schumer.

  • Brooke Mueller, Charlie Sheen Spend Time Together With Their Twins Ahead of HIV-Positive Announcement

Brooke Mueller is the third of Charlie Sheen’s ex-wives, and the mother of his twin boys, six-year-olds Bob and Max. Just weeks ahead of today’s announcement that he is HIV-positive, Brooke Mueller and Charlie Sheen were spotted together, enjoying some time with their boys. Brooke Mueller even hugged her ex.

In a recent interview, Brooke Mueller admits she “couldn’t handle” his HIV-positive news.

“I had a drug-induced psychotic break at Charlie’s after doing drugs with Charlie for that many days,” she explained. “I couldn’t handle the HIV news. Just six months ago I was diagnosed with the eye disease and then Charlie potentially giving me HIV. I started doing heavy drugs with Charlie, staying up for days and it made my brain misfire.”

Charlie Sheen and Brooke Mueller wed in 2008, and their marriage lasted just two years. He allegedly assaulted her on Christmas Day in Aspen, back in 2010. She filed for divorce, and it was finalized in 2010.

There has thus far been no word as to whether Brooke Mueller may have contracted HIV from Charlie Sheen. Her behavior indicates a propensity for partying–which doesn’t always render the best outcome when one’s partner in crime is HIV-positive.

Hopefully, for the sake of Brooke Mueller and Charlie Sheen’s twins, she is not HIV-positive, too.

Charlie Sheen will reportedly announce that he is HIV-positive during an exclusive interview this morning (Tuesday, November 17) with Matt Lauer on the Today Show.

  • Charlie Sheen: Former “Two and a Half Men” Star is HIV-Positive, Per Multiple Reports

Charlie Sheen has been the subject of much speculation throughout most of the day, with several media outlets reporting he might announce on tomorrow’s Today Show that he is HIV-positive. E! News has since confirmed this is true.

The sources that confirmed this information also confirm that Charlie Sheen’s ex, Denise Richards, and the children they share are all HIV-negative. There is thus far no such confirmation on Charlie Sheen’s other two ex-wives, Donna Peele (1995-96) or Brooke Mueller (2008-11). Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards were married from 2002-06.

Sheen is scheduled to give a live, on-air interview to Today’s Matt Lauer on NBC in Studio 1A tomorrow. A press release issued earlier today says Charlie Sheen “will make a revealing personal announcement.”

Charlie Sheen was fired from his role on Two and a Half Men in 2011. In recent months no one has seen Sheen in photos or on TV, adding much speculation to this upcoming announcement. Is it possible Charlie Sheen might have full blown AIDS? His physical absence hasn’t prevented him from doing something he is incredibly good at–trashing one of his ex-wives via social media. Most recently his victim of choice was Denise Richards and his forum of choice was Twitter.

It will be interesting to learn exactly what Charlie Sheen has to say to Matt Lauer on Tuesday’s Today Show. Hopefully, despite the disturbing health revelation, Sheen is on track with a proactive treatment plan.

Does this upcoming revelation from Charlie Sheen come as a shock, or is this something you might have expected all along? After all, Sheen is known for his sexual dalliances with a bevy of women, as well as for drug use.

  • Savannah Guthrie, Matt Lauer Talk Halloween at Home

Savannah Guthrie and Matt Lauer dressed up as Peanuts characters Friday on the Today Show. Lauer was Lucy and Savannah Guthrie was Charlie Brown’s (Al Roker) sister Sally.

Following Friday’s show, E! News caught up with Matt Lauer and Savannah Guthrie, and the pair talked about what Halloween at home was going to be like, after they left the NBC Studios for the weekend.

“I’ve got a little 1-year-old so I’m going to dress her up I think as a ballerina,” Savannah said of her daughter, Vale, with husband Michael Feldman. “We’re just going to walk around the neighborhood and I’m going to eat all her candy.”

Matt Lauer is a veteran trick-or-treater.

“I’ve got three kids,” she said of sons Jack and Thijs and daughter Romy. “Two of them will be trick or treating. The older one is a little bit over it, so I’ll take the 12-year-old and the 9-year-old out tomorrow night.”

Al Roker was still very excited about playing Charlie Brown for fans on the plaza, as well as for viewers.

The entire Today Show cast dressed up as Peanuts characters for Friday’s Halloween fun. In addition to Savannah Guthrie as Sally, Matt Lauer as Lucy, and Al Roker as Charlie Brown–Kathie Lee Gifford was Woodstock alongside best bud Hoda Kotb as Snoopy. Meredith Vieira surprised everyone when she showed up as Pigpen. Regis Philbin even made a guest appearance, dressed as the Red Baron.

Did you see Matt Lauer, Savannah Guthrie, and the rest of the Today Show gang on Friday?

Do you think Savannah Guthrie will really eat all of that precious baby’s candy?

    No mom could do that.

  • Meredith Vieira Gets Down and Dirty for Halloween

Meredith Vieira got down and dirty–and was barely recognizable–on The Today Show’s Halloween celebration Friday. In keeping with her former co-hosts’ Peanuts theme, Vieira dressed up as their messy friend Pigpen.

Showing up in a cloud of dust–or gray tulle–Meredith Vieira wore dirty overalls and a scraggly hairstyle befitting the sloppy character.

Her presence came as sort of a surprise to Matt Lauer, Savannah Guthrie, Al Roker, Kathie Lee Gifford, Hoda Kotb, and more.

“I never miss (Halloween),” she said. “They drag me back. This is typecasting.”

This years marks the third in a row that Meredith Vieira returned to The Today Show to take part in their Halloween fun.

Did you see The Today Show on Friday? Al Roker was Charlie Brown, playing opposite Matt Lauer as Lucy. Savannah Guthrie was Charlie Brown’s little sister Sally. Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb were Snoopy and Woodstock. Regis Philbin also surprised fans on the plaza when he showed up as the Red Baron.

Of course everyone on The Today Show went through hours in makeup and wardrobe to pull off their Halloween personas. Meredith Vieira, however, appears to have undergone a bit more of a transformation than the rest.

Kudos to all the Today Show stars on another great year of surprising their fans for Halloween.

  • Kathie Lee Gifford, Frank Gifford Inducted Into Broadcasting Hall of Fame, Kathie Lee Lauds Children Cody and Cassidy Gifford

Kathie Lee Gifford and the late Frank Gifford were inducted into the Broadcasting Hall of Fame on Tuesday evening, and Kathie Lee wore her emotions on her sleeve as she spoke about her late husband.

“I have to thank my incredible husband, who taught me so much, who was the most generous person I ever met,” Kathie Lee said as she accepted her award. “And he gave me the two greatest gifts that any human being could ever have and that’s my children!”

It’s no secret that Kathie Lee Gifford adores her two children. She went on to laud Cody and Cassidy Gifford as only a mother can.

“My children make me a better person every day. The hardest thing in the world to do is raise two people…who love God, who love their country. I guess they’ve done a lot of bad stuff but I don’t know about it!” she joked, eliciting laughs from the crowd. “And I don’t want to know alright!”

“But anyway, I want to thank Cody and Cassidy who are going to receive the award for Frank a little bit later in the evening. I am truly the most blessed woman on the earth. I had 29 years with my incredible husband and I remember thinking when we were getting married, I said, ‘Lord, if you give just me 10 [years] with that amazing man.’ I got that and a whole bunch more! So thank you everybody!”

Frank Gifford was 84 when he passed away of natural causes on August 9th. Kathie Lee Gifford has leaned on her strong Christian faith to get her through the past months since his death.

Hoda Kotb–Kathie Lee Gifford’s co-host on the Today Show–and Regis Philbin–her former co-host on Live! With Regis and Kathie Lee presented Gifford with her award.

“Thank God I got this award before Kelly Ripa,” she joked as she accepted her award. “I mean, how embarrassing would that be?”

Back on The Today Show Wednesday, Kathie Lee Gifford was still talking about the honor both she and Frank received the night before.

“It is a huge honor. The best part of the evening was that they also honored Frank. I think it’s the only hall of fame he is not yet in. Our children were there to receive it for their dad, so it was going to be difficult for me emotionally,” she said.

Not only were Cody and Cassidy Gifford there to support Kathie Lee at the awards ceremony, Today Show friends Matt Lauer, Savannah Guthrie, and Tamron Hall were there, too.

Kudos to Kathie Lee Gifford on the award she received as well as for the grace she constantly exudes, in light of the pain she is surely still feeling.

  • Jessica Chastain Believes In Ghosts

Jessica Chastain has been making headlines for her unique look on the cover of W Magazine, but she’s making the rounds promoting Crimson Peak, the new ghost movie from Guillermo del Toro, which opens this Friday, and appeared on The Today Show.

Chastain discussed the film and her role in it with Matt Lauer, mentioning that she’s a big fan of gothic romances and enjoyed Interview with a Vampire in particular.

Lauer shifted the conversation by asking if she believes in ghosts, to which she replied, “Yep.”

Prodded about if she meant the “floating figure ghosts” or just the “misplaced spirits ghosts,” Chastain replied that, “It’s more fun to believe in ghosts than to not believe in ghosts. So yes, I believe in ghosts. Sometimes the lights will turn on and off if I’m in London or something, and I always say, ‘Hey, okay, great, you’re here. I recognize you. I’m super tired. Please let me sleep.’”

She went on to admit that it could be an electrical thing, adding that it’s more fun to believe someone is trying to communicate with her.

Lauer said he saw a rocking chair move once.

In Crimson Peak, Jessica Chastain plays Lucille Sharp, whose brother moves his new wife into the family’s home.

  • Charlize Theron’s Passions: Her Son, Newly Adopted Daughter, and Fighting HIV/AIDS

Charlize Theron at times seems like a very complicated woman. She and Sean Penn split up after what seemed like a deep, permanent romance, and then she adopted yet another child as a single mom. At other times Theron is perfectly clear–like when she’s raising awareness for the plight of young women and HIV/AIDS in Africa.

On Monday, Charlize Theron talked with Savannah Guthrie and Matt Lauer on The Today Show about the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project, which she founded in 2007.

“A lot of people assume that we’ve come a long way with HIV/AIDs—and we have, especially over the last decade. But HIV/AIDS is still the number one killer of women of a reproductive age worldwide. It’s something that we still really need to care about because it’s really disproportionately hitting young girls and young women,” she said. “We’ve seen a stability or a decrease in a lot of the infection rates across the board, but we are seeing an increase when it comes to youth and adolescents. Somehow we’re not reaching those very, very vulnerable girls. That’s what our project tries to do with our grassroots organizations on the ground.”

Charlize Theron was raised in South Africa. She lives in the U.S. She is working with those “who know the issues that these girls are facing with gender equality, education, or not getting the same level of education because they’re basically being treated second- and third-class citizens.”

Theron took a few minutes away from this topic to acknowledge that yes, she did adopt a daughter in August. Named August–baby August Theron joins brother Jackson Theron, who she adopted back in 2012.

Charlize Theron explained that her organization is all about prevention of HIV/AIDS.

“There was so much immediate care everywhere in South Africa, and I think all over the world, but we’re not going to stop AIDS until we actually teach people how not to become positive. What we’ve been doing is just curbing it. This is an infectious disease. You can’t curb that. So we had to stop it. We have to eliminate it completely,” the Mad Max: Fury Road star said. “And the problem is, the Western World, we’ve come so far. We don’t really see AIDS on the front page of the newspaper anymore. The problem is we become complacent and the problem is right now more young girls are dying because of that complacency.”

Charlize Theron may be a bit complex. She finished up her segment about her organization while talking of returning home to her three-month-old baby. She ended by saying the conversation she started must continue.

“Sit at dinner tonight and tell whomever you’re eating with that girls are eight times more likely to become HIV positive than boys in South Africa,” she said.

More information about the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project is available online. The organization has Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook pages.

  • Kathie Lee Gifford, Frank Gifford: Her First Shared Birthday Without Him

Kathie Lee Gifford and her late husband Frank Gifford–who passed away last Sunday at the age of 84–shared more than just a marriage and two children–Cody and Cassidy Gifford. They shared a birthday, too. On Sunday, August 16, Kathie Lee celebrates her first birthday solo since marrying Frank back in 1986.

Turning 62 today, Kathie Lee Gifford is no doubt experiencing yet another taste of the bittersweet. Frank would have been 85 today, but she realizes she was blessed to have had a long life with him. She concentrates on that more so than on the fact that he is gone.

Hoda Kotb is Kathie Lee’s good friend, and her co-host of the fourth hour of The Today Show. Hoda honored both her dear friends via Twitter on Sunday.

The Today Show made sure to remember Kathie Lee’s birthday.

It is probably difficult for Kathie Lee and Frank Gifford’s children–Cody and Cassidy Gifford–to celebrate only their mom’s birthday today. They likely have grown up enjoying a double birthday celebration each year on August 16.

Kathie Lee Gifford has clung to her strong faith as a means of navigating these days of grief and sorrow. Earlier on the birthday she long shared with Frank, she posted a Scripture verse–one she no doubt thought of throughout the day.

Surely Kathie Lee Gifford will have bouts of sadness in the midst of her optimism. It’s only natural. However keeping her focus on her blessings rather than on her grief will no doubt play a huge role in her getting through her recent loss.

Fans are no doubt awaiting Kathie Lee’s return to The Today Show. Hoda is, too. She was forced to share Winesday Wednesday–Kathie Lee Gifford’s favorite day of the week–with Matt Lauer last week.

  • Ann Curry Treatment: Is Brian Williams In for the Same?

Ann Curry was fired from her position as co-host of the Today show several years back, and is rarely seen on the network any more. Is this the same treatment Brian Williams will receive now that it’s confirmed he won’t return to NBC Nightly News, but will instead be replaced by Lester Holt on a permanent basis?

Us Weekly reported at the time that the last days Ann Curry spent at Today were ‘torture,’ and that the staff loved to pick on her.

Is this what Brian Williams is about to face?

In an interview with Matt Lauer–who was long blamed for the firing of Ann Curry–that aired on Today Friday morning, Williams admitted (finally) that he lied.

“I said things that weren’t true,” he told Lauer.

“Looking back, it had to have been ego that made me think I had to be sharper, funnier, quicker than anybody else, [to] put myself closer to the action, having been at the action in the beginning,” he said. “I own this and I own up to this.”

Word hasn’t emerged as to the pay cut Brian Williams no doubt had to take with this huge demotion. In a like manner, word hasn’t emerged as to whether Lester Holt will earn anywhere near what Williams’s salary was when he anchored NBC Nightly News.

Do you suppose Ann Curry is quietly waiting in the wings, watching? Is she wondering if Brian Williams will receive the same treatment she received when she was so shamelessly demoted from her Today show anchor’s chair?

  • Matt Lauer Lands Emotional Interview With Tracy Morgan

Matt Lauer sat down with Tracy Morgan this week for an emotional interview, and the comedian made a promise to his fans that he will return to comedy.

Morgan, who was involved in a tragic car accident last year which killed friend and fellow comedian James McNair, says he’s not ready to return to the stage just yet because he’s still healing. Not just physically, but emotionally.

“Bones heal, but the loss of my friend will never heal,” Morgan said.

Tracy revealed that he doesn’t remember the crash–which was caused when the limo he and several others were riding in collided with a Walmart truck–and in the days that followed, he watched footage of it online.

“I had to know what happened to my friend, I had to pay my respects. That was my way,” he told Matt Lauer.

Morgan wasn’t able to participate in the 40th anniversary of Saturday Night Live earlier this year, though his old costars gave him a shoutout during the episode and wished him a speedy recovery. At that time, he just wasn’t ready to return to television, and after months of recovering from a severe head injury, several broken ribs, and other broken bones, Morgan says he’s still not quite there.

“I love comedy. I’ll never stop loving her. I love comedy and I can’t wait to get back to her. But right now my goal is just to heal and get better. I’m not 100 percent yet. I’m not. And when I’m there, you’ll know it. I’ll get back to making you laugh, I promise you.”

Morgan was involved in a lawsuit with Walmart over the accident, but told Matt Lauer that it’s been settled after a lengthy battle.

  • Tracy Partridge: Youngest ‘Partridge Family’ Actor, Suzanne Crough, Dies at 52

Tracy Partridge, the youngest member of The Partridge Family, was played by actress Suzanne Crough. On Monday, Crough died at her home in Nevada. She was 52.

According to a report from Us Weekly, Crough played the role of Tracy Partridge from 1970 to 1974, when she was between seven and 11 years old.

In later years, Suzanne Crough appeared on shows including Wonder Woman and Mulligan’s Stew.

When several members of The Partridge Family reunited on The Today Show back in March of 2010, Suzanne Crough explained that she didn’t do much acting following her role as Tracy Partridge.

“I’m an office manager for Office Max,” she told Today co-host Matt Lauer at the time. “I have two daughters, I’m married, I have a normal job.”

Tracy Partridge didn’t actually perform as the recording artists who went by the name of The Partridge Family. Only David Cassidy and Shirley Jones sang on the show and recorded songs. The remainder of the cast merely lip-synched or pretended to play instruments. Tracy Partridge was always seen with a tambourine in her hand.

No cause of death has yet been announced in the passing of Suzanne Crough. And no one from the cast of The Partridge Family has yet to issue a statement regarding her death.

How sad that the actress who played Tracy Partridge has died so young. She will no doubt be remembered fondly by her Partridge Family costars.

  • Ellen DeGeneres Has Own Set of ‘Golden Rules’

Ellen DeGeneres has her own set of ‘Golden Rules’ that she strives to live by, and she claims they help ensure her happiness.

Known for her kindness as much as for her comedy, the host of The Ellen DeGeneres Show says ‘a mix of sleep, kindness and willingness to change’ has long been at the top of her list of rules.

Married to actress Portia de Rossi, Ellen knows firsthand that happiness is all about compromise. Anyone who is committed to another human being can attest to the fact that selfishness has no place in any kind of relationship. Ellen DeGeneres is probably one of the least selfish celebrities around.

In addition to the aforementioned rules Ellen adheres to, she also believes in having no rules in life, not being afraid of change, and finding what you are passionate about and following it. She added that when she realized her passion was to make people happy and to make them laugh, she became extremely driven.

It’s beyond obvious that Ellen DeGeneres enjoys making others happy. And she has a real talent for making people laugh. Do you suppose when her fans learn about her own set of ‘Golden Rules’ of happiness, that they will want to follow them, too?

Do you have specific rules you live by that help you achieve your happiness? Are they your own rules or some that others have tried and succeeded through using them?

Do you suppose Ellen DeGeneres and Matt Lauer have discussed these rules for happiness? They seem to be creating lots of happiness–at least among their fans–by pulling hilarious pranks on one another.

  • Julia Roberts Will Celebrate ‘Pretty Woman’ 25th Anniversary on ‘Today Show’

Julia Roberts will join Richard Gere and other stars of the 1990 film Pretty Woman to celebrate its 25th anniversary on the Today Show this coming Tuesday, March 24th. Costars Laura San Giacomo and Hector Elizondo, as well as director Garry Marshall will also join in the celebration.

The release of Pretty Woman set Julia Roberts and her acting career soaring straight to bona fide stardom. Roberts earned her second Oscar nomination and her first Oscar for her role as hooker Vivian Ward. Vivian is hired in Pretty Woman to serve as an escort for Edward Lewis, a wealthy businessman played by Richard Gere. Ward and Lewis eventually fall in love, but not until a transformation akin to a modern day version of the one that takes place in My Fair Lady transpires.

The celebration that airs on Today this Tuesday will feature a reunion of sorts. Jason Alexander, who played the rather sleazy Philip Stuckey, and who later became famous for his role on Seinfeld, is noticeably absent, however. When the gang gets together for their interview with Matt Lauer, lots of fun and laughter is in store for everyone–both on the set and for those watching at home, too.

Julia Roberts and the rest of the cast, along with Garry Marshall, will reportedly share their favorite moments from Pretty Woman.

Julia Roberts was just 22 when she starred in Pretty Woman, and the only big credits under her acting belt at that time were Mystic Pizza and Steel Magnolias.

Will you be tuning in to the Today Show on NBC on Tuesday morning to see Matt Lauer interview Julia Roberts, Richard Gere and more as they celebrate the 25th anniversary of Pretty Woman?

  • Kathie Lee Gifford Kisses Matt Lauer For Charity

Kathie Lee Gifford locked lips with Matt Lauer on the Today show.

But, don’t worry, it was for charity.

Why anyone would kiss either one of those two for ANY other reason, I do not know.

Kathie Lee Gifford was partaking in the latest do-something-make-it-go-viral-challenge-friends charity push.

This time, Kathie Lee Gifford and Matt Lauer were supporting autism by chomping on opposite ends of a Twizzler until they met in the middle, Lady and the Tramp style.

The whole thing started at Jon Stewart and Comedy Central’s “Night of Too Many Stars” autism event two weeks ago.

During that event, Willie Geist was challenged by a Twitter follower to do the challenge with Uzo Aduba in exchange for a monetary donation.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojbrolOWSj4

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jUjrYOCJneM

Now Kathie Lee Gifford and Matt Lauer, along with the rest of the world, are smooching for Autism in a move that is highly reminiscent of 2014’s ice bucket challenge that raised millions for ALS.

Hopefully, this charity drive will be just as successful.

Eating a Twizzler and kissing a friend is way easier than taking a bucket of cold ice water on your melon.

Along with Kathie Lee Gifford, Meredith Vieira also took the Twizzler challenge with Geist on her show, The Meredith Vieira Show.

They ended up donating $5,000 towards programs that help those with autism.

What do you think about the Twizzler challenge? Do you think that the momentum of the ice bucket challenge still runs deep enough to motivate people to support autism by nibbling Twizzlers and kissing people?

It will be interesting to see just how far it goes.

  • Matt Lauer Gets Back at Ellen DeGeneres With Prank

Matt Lauer has been pranked by Ellen DeGeneres one too many times. He shared how he got back at the daytime talk show host today on The Today Show.

“We’ve been the target of several pranks by a young lady,” Matt Lauer said of Ellen DeGeneres’s successful history of pranking him, Savannah Guthrie, Al Roker, and even former Today show co-host Meredith Vieira.

It was last month when Ellen played a good one on Matt Lauer. Enlisting the help of some computer imaging experts, she dressed Lauer in a bondage outfit for his interview with Fifty Shades of Grey stars Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson.

“I vowed I would get revenge and the moment has finally arrived,” Lauer said Thursday. “We’re done with your cocky pronouncements.”

Matt Lauer had help from members of The Today Show staff in the planning of his revenge.

While Ellen DeGeneres was safely inside her studio taping an episode of her show, Matt and his helpers loaded up 20,000 ping-pong balls inside her Porsche Cayenne. When she opened the door to her vehicle later in the day, they came bouncing out and rolling all over the ground.

She knew immediately Matt Lauer was behind the prank.

Now Matt Lauer needs to watch out. Ellen DeGeneres will definitely get him back–again. And she’s really very good in that arena.

How long do you suppose this pranking will last between Matt Lauer and Ellen DeGeneres? Will one of them eventually admit defeat and call a truce?

  • Kathie Lee Gifford, Matt Lauer Lock Lips For Twizzler Challenge

Kathie Lee Gifford and Matt Lauer shared a sweet on-air kiss Tuesday while carrying out the Twizzler Challenge on the Today show.

Kathie Lee Gifford locked lips with co-host Matt Lauer after the twosome nibbled opposite ends of the red licorice candy until their lips met for the Twizzler Challenge, is a campaign to raise funds for autism awareness and related programs.

The challenge involves two people nibbling the ends of the red licorice wand until lips meet, much like the spaghetti scene in the Disney film Lady and the Tramp.

Kathie Lee Gifford and Matt Lauer were not the first Today show hosts to lock lips for the charity. Last week, Meredith Vieira completed the challenge with Today co-anchor Willie Geist last week, and then challenged Gifford and Lauer to do the same on Tuesday’s episode.

Willie Geist and Uzo Aduba of Orange is the New Black inspired the campaign by sharing a similar kiss at the Night of Too Many Stars fundraiser in February.

Kathie Lee Gifford and her partner in the challenge, Matt Lauer, nominated Regis Philbin and Hoda Kotb to complete the challenge for autism.

All donations for the challenge goes to the New York Collaborates for Autism, which has raised over $18 million for autism programs since 2006.

  • Jennifer Garner’s Love For Her Mom and Sisters Brings Her to Tears

Jennifer Garner was brought to tears Wednesday when speaking about her family during an emotional appearance on the Today show.

The love Jennifer Garner feels for her mom, Patricia, and sisters Melissa and Susannah was touchingly apparent after a photo Savannah Guthrie shared from a recent Southern Living photo shoot brought the Danny Collins actress to tears.

“It makes me cry to see their faces, so I won’t look,” Jennifer Garner said as the photo appeared on a screen behind her.

“There’s just nothing like sharing the spotlight or anything else with your sisters and your mom,” Garner said as she began to tear up and slow her speech. “It’s always fun for me to get my sisters dolled up and my mom… I can’t even take it, Today show is too tough for me.”

Savannah Guthrie saved the day by changing the subject, but her tears returned when Matt Lauer took a moment to praise the actress for her emotional honesty.

“We just put Jennifer on the list of best guests ever… Fantastic, she’s unbelievable,” said Lauer.

“I’m so sorry!” Jennifer Garner said, looking beautiful as ever as she wiped more tears from her eyes. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry. My mom is under the weather and it just… I didn’t realize I would get emotional.”

Jennifer Garner, who is the middle daughter of Patricia and Bill Garner, didn’t specify her mother’s medical condition.

Jennifer Garner explained the importance of her relationship with her sisters in the Southern Living interview.

“Being the middle sister of these three girls is the relationship that defines me more than anything else. More than being my kids’ mother, more than being my husband’s wife, I’m first and foremost the middle Garner girl,” she said.

  • Julia Roberts Celebrates 25th Anniversary Of ‘Pretty Woman’, Joins Richard Gere On ‘Today’

America’s ultimate sweetheart Julia Roberts joins Richard Gere and the rest of the cast of the 90’s romantic comedy Pretty Woman in a special interview on Today.

In celebration of the 25th anniversary of the film, producer Matt Lauer and the Today show exclusively reunites leading lady Roberts and on-screen prince charming Gere with Pretty Woman costars Laura San Giacomo and Hector Elizondo. Director Garry Marshall was also present during the celebration.

Pretty Woman’s release in 1990 ushered Robert’s acting career into greater limelight. The film earned the actress her second Oscar nomination and her first Oscar award for Best Actress in a Leading Role. Then 22-year-old Roberts was just breaking out with movies including Mystic Pizza and Steel Magnolias.

Roberts played as unworldly Vivian Ward, a hooker hired by filthy rich businessman Edward Lewis (Gere) to be his escort for a few social engagements. Bubbly prostitute friend Kit De Luca (Giacomo) elbows Ward into taking the job. After several “princess trainings” from hotel manager, Barney Thompson (Elizondo) and a quintessential make-over, the hooker won the rich man’s heart.

And the rest became a classic Hollywood romance.

During the taping of the anniversary special, vivacious Roberts can be seen laughing with her co-stars. Today’s interview featured a lot of kissing, hugging and catching up among the cast. Only Jason Alexander, who played antagonist, sleazy Philip Stuckey, was noticeably absent from the reunion.

“It was wild,” Lauer told his Today cohost after a sneak peak of the special interview. “And we did the whole thing, just to keep in the mood of the movie, in a bathtub, with the bubbles. It was fantastic,” he added in revere of Robert’s memorable bathtub scene where the actress soaks luxuriously in bubbles while singing “Kiss” by Prince.

Pretty Woman became such a great hit that even after 25 years, fans of the cast still remember their performances.  In last years’ interview with Lauer, Roberts revealed that people still cite her hooker role as their favorite. “I kinda go, ‘Another decade? Anything a little closer?’” she joked.
