  • Jessica Biel Film Headed to Cannes Film Festival

Jessica Biel stars in a new film that is headed to the Cannes Film Festival next month. The Devil in the Deep Blue Sea is presently in post-production, and was recently acquired by Content Media.

In addition to starring in the film, Jessica Biel also serves as producer. She produced The Devil in the Deep Blue Sea under her Iron Ocean Films banner, along with partner Michelle Purple and Mike Landry, as well as Carlos Velazquez of C Plus Pictures and Chuck Pacheco of Nine Nights.

The film is said to explore themes of love and friendship, grief and laughter and in addition to Jessica Biel, also stars Jason Sudeikis, Maisie Williams, Orlando Jones, Paul Reiser, and Mary Steenburgen.

It’s uncertain as of yet if Jessica Biel will travel to Cannes next month when the film premieres. She and hubby Justin Timberlake only recently welcomed son Silas Randall Timberlake into their world.

According to a report from Variety, Justin Timberlake is scoring The Devil in the Deep Blue Sea, making Jessica Biel’s new film a real family affair.

Do you suppose that family affair will extend to travel, and find Justin Timberlake, Jessica Biel, and baby Silas in France next month for the Cannes Film Festival?

  • Jessica Biel: No Bikini Exposing Baby Bump During This Beach Outing

Jessica Biel was spotted out and about during a recent beach outing in Marina Del Rey, California, but instead of flaunting her baby bump by wearing a bikini, she kept things under wraps instead. It was clear that Justin Timberlake’s wife was enjoying some down time, however, as she donned a thin t-shirt that was a bit tattered and torn, along with some comfy pants.

Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel are due to become parents some time this spring. It was back in January when the singer announced his impending fatherhood, after many weeks of speculation.

“Thank you EVERYONE for the Bday wishes!,” he captioned on Instagram. “This year, I’m getting the GREATEST GIFT EVER. CAN’T WAIT. #BoyOrGirl #YouNeverKnow #WeDontEvenKnow #WeAreTakingBets”

That baby bump has grown even larger, and Jessica Biel apparently didn’t want to share it with the paparazzi in a bikini during her trip to the beach. Hopefully she is enjoying her getaway, as life will certainly change when the baby arrives.

Jessica Biel has worked throughout her pregnancy, filming The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea alongside Mary Steenburgen, Orlando Jones, Jason Sudeikis, and Maisie Williams. Filming took place in New Orleans, which isn’t conducive to pregnancy. Hopefully it all wrapped up before the temperatures climbed too high.

Fans won’t get to see Jessica Biel in The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea until some time in 2016, so for now they’ll have to be content with glimpses of her during her beach getaway.

A source says Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake are over-the-moon excited about their baby’s impending arrival.

“They are both so excited for this new chapter and ready to be parents,” the source said. “They are such a great team and will both be very hands on and involved with everything.”

Do you think Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake will take an official babymoon before their little one joins them?

  • ‘Orange Is The New Black’ Season 3 Casting News

‘Orange Is The New Black’ Season 3 Casting News

Orange is the New Black: Season 2 has only been available on Netflix for a week, but the third season is reportedly already filming. There are also a couple pieces of significant casting news.

Deadline reports that Dascha Polanco, who play’s Daya Diaz, has been promoted to a series regular.

While certainly good news for Polanco, most fans of the show probably already consider her a regular. She’s always been a significant part of the show from the first season on.

In other casting news, however, the show is adding a new face – Mary Steenburgen (via TV Line):

Little more is known about what role she’ll play, but we’ll find out soon enough, I’m sure. TV Line does say it will be a recurring role.

Steenburgen has won both an Academy Award and a Golden Globe for her role in Melvin and Howard. Her recent television work has included Justified, 30 Rock, Bored to Death, Robot Chicken, Wilfred, and Curb Your Enthusiasm.

If the filming of Orange is the New Black: Season 3 is anything like that of Season 2, you can probably expect to see quite a few photos from the set on the official Instagram account.

  • Ted Danson Will Always Be Sam Malone, Even To Himself

Ted Danson has had a long and fruitful acting career, but many of us still identify him with the role that catapulted his career: Sam Malone, the womanizing former baseball player-turned bar owner on “Cheers”. But he probably won’t hold it against us, because he feels the same way.

“I am forever grateful for Cheers. It’s the reason why I’m sitting here now. Plus I think of everything I do as Sam Malone – Sam Malone sees dead people now, Sam Malone becomes a doctor,” he said.

Indeed, the characters on “Cheers” quickly became some of the most beloved in television history, with the iconic theme song and opening credits landing a place in our nostalgia center. The actor–whose latest role is that of D.B. Russell on “CSI”–recently got the chance to reunite with former castmate John Ratzenberger (“Cliff”) when he landed a guest starring role on the show, and said he was impressed with his old friend.

“As we were running lines, I was sitting there going ‘Wow. He’s good.’ I didn’t even know my lines, and he’s really good,” Danson said.

Danson’s wife, actress Mary Steenburgen, has had some success of her own in the world of film and television, but most recently began turning to music and just signed a record deal with Universal. Steenburgen says she had never been musical until an “epiphany” she had after undergoing surgery. Soon after, she had written 40 songs.

  • Mary Steenburgen Signs Record Deal with Universal

Its never too late to chase your dreams, and actress Mary Steenburgen is a prime example of that notion. She has an Academy Award, now she’s going for a Grammy. The 60-year-old actress is known for her long-standing career in the film industry for movies like “Back to the Future III,” “Philadelphia” and “The Help.” But, recently, she inked a songwriting deal with Universal Music.

Steenburgen accredits her musical awakening to an epiphany she experienced after undergoing a minor surgery. According to CBS News, Steenburgen describes her song-writing as a ‘new emerging ability she can’t even explain.’ She said after her surgery, “music started right after that.” Since then, she’s written more than 40 songs. Her husband, actor Ted Danson, also fueled her musical desire when he bought her an accordion as a Valentine’s Day gift earlier this year.

Although Steenburgen is moving into the music industry, film is still a dominant force in her career. Her latest film, “Last Vegas” is actually headed for theaters Nov. 1. In addition to Steenburgen, the film is flooded with other veteran actors, including Robert de Niro, Morgan Freeman, Kevin Kline, and Michael Douglas. “Last Vegas” centers around four men in their mid-sixties. They head to Vegas for a bachelor party to celebrate the upcoming nuptials of their last single buddy. The comedy chronicles all of the events of their Vegas extravaganza.

In addition to “Last Vegas,” Steenburgen has other films headed to theaters. But, she’s won’t just be on screen this time. She’s working behind the scenes putting those writing skills to work, as well. She also serves in the capacity of co-writer and director for films, Mahesh Pailoor’s “Brahmin Bulls” and “Song One” which stars Anne Hathaway. “Brahmin Bulls” is scheduled to be released closer toward the end of 2013, while “Song One” is currently in post-production status, slated for a 2014 release.

  • Mary Steenburgen is giving Music a Try

The lovely, award-winning actress, Mary Steenburgen, has gained major success in the film industry. Now, she is trying something new…the music industry.

After undergoing a minor surgery and receiving a general anesthetic, she developed an unexplainable love for music. “The music started right after that,” she said. She’s now written and/or co-written more than 40 songs, and Universal Music has recently signed her as a new songwriter!

Steenburgen has a new movie set to debut called “Last Vegas”. In the film, she is co-starring alongside an all star, Oscar-winning cast that includes, Michael Douglas, Robert De Niro, Morgan Freeman and Kevin Kline. “There’s something very delicious — a very kind of wise and beautiful dance that’s done when you work with people at this point in your life that are that accomplished,” she said. Her character has a scene where she sings a song that is all Steenburgen’s, which is very exciting for her! “At one point I kind of looked in the mirror and said, you know, you’re a mom, you’re a wife, people count on you, you can’t go off the deep end into this kind of crazy, musical swirl,” she said.

Although she has played in many movies and even won an Oscar award for her acting, she still admits that she has serious stage fright issues that she has been seeking professional help for. “I love being in a room of 8-10 people,” she said. “Once it starts to get much bigger than that, I’ve always gotten very frightened. I’ve never managed to — just telling you about it, I have sweaty palms. First time I’ve ever talked about it, actually.”
