Christina Applegate Says Kelly Bundy Probably Has Kids, Talks About Her Own

Christina Applegate has come a long way since Married … With Children. The former Kelly Bundy has made a name for herself in comedy films alongside some heavyweight names.

Applegate’s former TV family, including Ed O’Neill and Katey Sagal, have done well for themselves too. Ed O’Neill is the patriarch of the family at the core of the hit series Modern Family, while Sagal was the matriarch of the biker brood in Sons of Anarchy. Only David Faustino has kept a lower profile, often appearing as himself on shows or voicing animated characters.

The latest news is that Faustino will get a Married … With Children spinoff based on his character of Bud Bundy. It has been confirmed that Christina Applegate will at least guest star from time to time, and other Bundy family members may drop in too.

Speaking about where she thinks Kelly Bundy might be today, Christina Applegate said, “Kelly Bundy probably has like 10 kids. I’m sure of it.”

Then Applegate should fit into the role just fine. She spoke with People recently about her own fun with her little family, including her husband Martyn LeNoble and daughter Sadie Grace.

“I barely survived the Terrible Twos,” Christina Applegate revealed. “The fours are pretty gnarls too. She is pushing so many boundaries right now. I say, ‘Please put that down. Please put that down. Please put that down.’ It’s crazy man.”

As any parent can attest, it’s still all worth it.

“My favorite time is just when it’s the two of us and we are having lunch and talking,” said Applegate.

As many moms have done, including new mom Zoe Saldana, Applegate makes sure her acting career makes room for her family.

“I won’t take on a project unless the family can make the decision that it is worth the sacrifice of me not seeing Sadie all day long and uprooting everyone if it’s on location,” Applegate said.

“After I did Anchorman 2, I asked for a year and a half off, which meant they weren’t allowed to call me about anything. And they didn’t,” she says. “I just mom’d it up.”

  • Katey Sagal And Original Cast Set To Return For ‘Married… With Children’

    Spinoffs. Spinoffs everywhere.

Actor producer David Faustino has already set his eyes on the revamp of another American sitcom Married… with Children, with Katey Sagal and Ed O’Neill returning as the defunct man and wife of the family.

“Sony has it. They’re excited about it. They’re working out some legal issues that we hope work out,” said Faustino at the Vacation premiere of his former Married… with Children co-star, Christina Applegate.

Despite their current projects, the original cast were eager to reprise their roles.

“The whole cast, including Christina, is down to do little bits in it,” he added.

“All of us have said we would all be there for [David],” said the excited Applegate, who played the “dumb blonde” Kelly Bundy in the series.

The 90’s sitcom features the Bundys, a dysfunctional family living in the Chicago suburbs. Sagal and O’neill played the parent Bundys, while Faustino acted as their second child Bud Bundy.

This new series will be centered around Bud Bundy, seeing that Sagal is currently committed to the FX series The Bastard Executioner. O’neill also has his hands full starring in the award-winning ABC sitcom  Modern Family.

The original sitcom that ran for 11 seasons from ‘87 to ’97 was the first primetime TV series featured on Fox. The show ran on the humor of a typical family with stereotypical characters with O’neill as Al bundy, the once celebrated high-school jock turned to a measly shoe salesman who can’t stand his lazy obnoxious wife, Peggy Bundy played by Sagal.

The direction of this remake is still in the dark as Faustino’s representative has yet to respond to related questions.

  • Katey Sagal Dishes on Tuesday’s Shocking ‘Sons of Anarchy’ Episode

Katey Sagal, 60, spoke out Wednesday following Tuesday’s shocking Sons of Anarchy episode that still has fans of the show trying to reconcile what exactly happened last night.

In the pre-final episode of Sons of Anarchy Tuesday night, fans collectively gasped at the death of Katey Sagal’s character, Gemma Teller.

“I was glad I made it to 12,” Sagal told Vulture, referring to the fact that her character lasted until the second to last episode of the 13-episode final season. “You never know with this show.”

Sagal‘s character was killed by her son Jax, played by Charlie Hunnam, in retaliation for her killing his wife Tara.

“I knew I was going to come to my demise about three or four episodes into this season … Kurt told Charlie and me at the same time that Gemma was going to die at the hands of her son,” she said.

The Married With Children alum admitted that filming the final scene with Hunnam and her husband, Kurt Sutter, was “extremely emotional.”

“It almost makes me cry talking about it. It was very sweet — those last moments before Charlie and I walked out to the garden, we were just crying and hugging each other, and then we’d roll … It wasn’t only Jax and Gemma’s farewell, it was Katey and Charlie’s farewell after working together for seven years,” she said.

Sagal explained why her character turned her back so her son could shoot her.

“It’s part of her mothering and loving him that she feels he needs to kill whoever killed Tara. She feels like she’s doing him that favor. It’s that, combined with the fact that she’s too afraid to do it herself. She needs him to help her do that, and to do it for himself,” she said.

The series finale of Sons of Anarchy airs next Tuesday on FX.

The show ran from 1987 to 1997, during which Sagal was nominated four times for a Golden Globe for her performance.

In recent years, Sagal has starred in the hit drama series Sons of Anarchy, and her performance their won her a Golden Globe in 2011. Actor Charlie Hunnam was among her co-stars on the drama who also graced the Walk of Fame event.

“I have to say I’m really humbled by this and I’m a little weirded out by it. This makes me realize that I’ve been at it for a while and I don’t like to think in terms of time. I’m not much for looking back, but right here right now this is awesome,” said Sagal.

Her family was also present to celebrate her achievements. Husband Karl Sutter, who is also executive producer of Sons of Anarchy, brought along daughters Sarah Grace and Esme Louise and son Jackson James to cheer for their mother.

Sagal said of her career, “It’s not only given me gainful employment, but personal gratification and deep connections with others but best of all it has allowed me to be of service. My job is a service job. As actors we make people laugh, and cry and remember their own feelings.”

  • Katey Sagal of ‘Sons of Anarchy’ Reveals Her Beauty Regimen

Sons of Anarchy star Katey Sagal recently spoke about her beauty regimen at the New York City premiere of Fargo.

“I take really good care of myself … I don’t smoke and I don’t drink. I sleep a lot, I just think it’s an inside job too. I think it’s attitude, a lot of it’s attitude. I try to have a good one.”

The 60-year-old actress, who has been described as “basically ageless,” currently stars as amoral matriarch Gemma Teller Morrow on the FX drama series Sons of Anarchy. Sagal’s husband Kurt Sutter is the show’s creator and executive producer.

The series’ seventh and final season is set to premiere in September.

“I haven’t gotten sad, I’m sort of not in that yet,” Sagal said. “I’m just not thinking about that. I suppose it will get sad. This one I’m sure there will be sad moments, but it has been an amazing ride.”

In 2011 Sagal won the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Television Series Drama for her Sons of Anarchy role.

Prior to Sons of Anarchy, Sagal was best known as Peggy Bundy on the long-running sitcom Married … with Children. The series ran for an impressive eleven seasons from 1987 to 1997.

Soon after the launch of Sons of Anarchy in 2008, Sagal said “I wanted to do something different, to stretch, and this has provided that … I don’t want to kill Peggy Bundy. I would just like her to step aside.”

Apparently it wasn’t easy getting Peggy to step aside:

“I would literally have to go meet people so they could see I didn’t have big red hair and wear high heels constantly … It was just really ingrained in people.”

Between the two series, Sagal appeared in several film and television productions, most notably 8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter and Futurama. She recently starred with Brittany Snow and Rumer Willis in There’s Always Woodstock, which premiered in March at the Gasparilla International Film Festival in Tampa, FL.

“I don’t know yet [what’s next],” Sagal said of her future. “I’m about to go back out there and see, see what happens next, so. I have been so blessed and so grateful to have had this job and the previous ones I’ve had. I feel very fortunate to have been here to have found this and to have [Kurt] write it for me.”

  • Katey Sagal Finally Releases New Music

Katey Sagal, everyone’s favorite, sarcastic housewife from Married With Children, is also popular for her musical talents. Fans have waited almost a decade for material, but will be happy to hear that a new record is finally being released.

Sagal explained the reason for the lapse to Billboard, “Probably a lot of writers’ block, and a real busy schedule.”

The star of Sons Of Anarchy has been busy with her television commitments, and has even shared her musical abilities on the show. However, when questioned about her time away from releasing new music of her own, she did not blame her television involvement as the reason. She credits the creators of the show with allowing her character, Gemma Teller Morrow, to showcase her music skills.

“It’s really been awesome. Every season I sing at least one song in the soundtrack. My husband, who writes the show, and Bob, who does the music, came up with great covers for me to do,” Sagal said.

Sagal looked internally when explaining the real reason behind her break from releasing albums, though during that time she was still actively involved in other avenues of performing music. “I love to play music, and I was playing gigs and doing a lot of songs off my other records. I thought ‘I really need to have some new songs.’ I’ve been trying to write, but I realized that I like the process of recording song and finding songs. It kind of came out of necessity of wanting to get to it. I couldn’t wait on myself anymore,” she said.

Sagal has taken to Twitter to promote her new album, Covered, and also to keep her fans up-to-date on public appearances.
