  • Miranda Kerr: Victoria’s Secret Model Channels Inner Marilyn Monroe, Snapchat CEO Approves

Miranda Kerr recently channeled her inner Marilyn Monroe for boyfriend and Snapchat CEO Evan Spiegel’s company Halloween party. The Victoria’s Secret model wore a platinum blonde wig and dress reminiscent of the Marilyn Monroe era.

Taking to social media to share some of the fun, Miranda Kerr clearly took her role quite seriously.

She captioned this first shot with emojis of bright red lips.

“About last night… ???” Miranda Kerr captioned this next photo, which features Evan Spiegel peeking into the frame.

The party tone appeared relaxed, as Miranda Kerr and friends lounged on a couch in their costumes.

A source tells E! News that the event was filled with invitees and their guests from the tech world, which is clearly not Miranda Kerr’s scene. Miranda Kerr reportedly “got on well with everyone,” however.

Miranda Kerr and the Snapchat CEO were first spotted dating earlier in 2015. It wasn’t until summer, though, that the Victoria’s Secret model and her man went public with their relationship.

Are you impressed with Miranda Kerr’s take on Marilyn Monroe? Did the Victoria’s Secret model impress her boyfriend and all of his tech friends at the Snapchat Halloween party?

  • Elizabeth Olsen Channels Marilyn Monroe, Flashes Passersby in Paris

Elizabeth Olsen had no idea she’d channel her inner Marilyn Monroe when she stepped out onto the streets of Paris on Saturday. The wind took hold of her black and white mini-dress and raised it high enough to show off her nude-colored undies to passersby, however. Rather than reveling in the moment–a la Marilyn Monroe–the Avengers: Age of Ultron star made faces at the cameras intent on capturing the situation, adding humor to what might have felt humiliating to some. She quickly smoothed her dress back into place and proceeded toward her destination.

The younger sister of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen was in Paris attending a Miu Miu event that kicked off Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week. Despite her oops with the wind, Elizabeth Olsen was stunning. Her black and white mini-dress, paired with extra high heeled silver and white sandals accentuated her long and lovely legs. She carried a small color blocked clutch for the perfect pop of color.

Elizabeth Olsen made news a while back for purportedly being involved with her Avengers costar Tom Hiddleston. Sources said the two had been “hooking up.”

“It’s casual,” a source shared of the longtime friends, explaining that the two make sure to “text when they’re apart.”

It wasn’t so long ago that Elizabeth Olsen was engaged to Boyd Holbroook.

“I’m relaxed about it, but I am excited and planning ideas because it’s fun–it’s just like throwing a party to celebrate life,” she told Marie Claire UK at the time. “I love being in a relationship a lot.”

Elizabeth Olsen called off her engagement to Boyd Holbrook this past January.

Tom Hiddleston was nowhere to be seen while Elizabeth Olsen channeled Marilyn Monroe in Paris. Perhaps she texted him about the entire ordeal at the end of her busy high fashion day?

  • Behati Prinsloo: Adam Levine’s Wife Has Wardrobe Malfunction in Paris

Behati Prinsloo suffered a slight wardrobe malfunction at a Tommy Hilfiger opening in Paris this week. The wife of The Voice judge and Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine sort of channeled Marilyn Monroe as her pleated skirt caught the wind and exposed her bare behind.

In seasoned fashion model style, however, Behati Prinsloo laughed off the incident and kept her composure throughout the event, never losing her ability to smile for the camera.

Behati’s ease in handling this wardrobe malfunction likely comes because she’s a pro. She narrowly avoided another wardrobe malfunction–this one was a near nip slip–at a Vanity Fair Oscars party. Hubby Adam Levine was a gentleman, and covered his wife from the camera’s eyes as she readjusted her fashion tape.

“Thanks babe, haha #vanityfair,” she captioned the following Instagram shot.

Probably Behati Prinsloo wishes she had thought to put on a pair of undies or perhaps some boy shorts underneath her skirt at the Tommy Hilfiger opening this week, but models take modesty with a grain of salt. They are used to being pinned together and taped up by strangers as they prepare for runway work and fashion shoots. A flyaway skirt likely caused her little cause for concern.

How do you suppose Adam Levine feels about his wife baring her behind for so many bystanders to see? Since Behati Prinsloo is also a Victoria’s Secret Angel, he’s no doubt used to her body being on display. And as long as it’s him she comes home to, the singer is no doubt filled with a sense of pride. After all, how many people have wives who look like Adam Levine’s?

  • Marilyn Monroe Film Finds Lead Actress

Marilyn Monroe was such an iconic, legendary figure that it’s difficult to imagine finding another actress to portray her in a believable way. Mira Sorvino, Michelle Williams, and Catherine Hicks have all played the charming superstar, but now a new movie based on the book Marilyn Monroe: The Untold Story is set to air on Lifetime, and the lead actress was announced this week.

Kelli Garner, who starred on the brief series Pan Am, has taken on the role of Monroe for the four-part mini-series. Susan Sarandon is set to play Monroe’s mother Gladys, but it’s not clear how far into the starlet’s past the series will delve.

“Marilyn is both the personification of sex, whose first marriage ironically collapses because of her frigidity, and a fragile artist who seeks the approval and protection of men. But after tumultuous marriages with Joe DiMaggio and Arthur Miller, she realizes she has the strength to stand on her own. She becomes the face and voice of an era, yet wants most of all to be someone’s mother and someone’s little girl. She’s the Marilyn you haven’t seen before, the artist who, by masking the truth with an image, gives her greatest performance,” Lifetime said in a statement.

Garner’s film credits include Lars And The Real Girl, The Aviator, and the upcoming Horns, starring Daniel Radcliffe. Lifetime will air the mini-series sometime next year.

  • Susan Sarandon to Portray Marilyn Monroe’s Mentally Ill Mother in Lifetime Miniseries

Susan Sarandon will be channeling Marilyn Monroe‘s mentally ill mother in an upcoming Lifetime miniseries.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Sarandon has signed to play the troubled star’s mother in Marilyn — Lifetime’s four-hour miniseries based on J. Randy Taraborrelli’s New York Times bestseller, The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe, which is considered the most definitive Monroe biography. The miniseries will depict “what the iconic superstar succeeded in hiding from an all-too-invasive world.”

Marilyn is both the personification of sex, whose first marriage ironically collapses because of her frigidity, and a fragile artist who seeks the approval and protection of men. But after tumultuous marriages with Joe DiMaggio and Arthur Miller, she realizes she has the strength to stand on her own. She becomes the Face and Voice of an era, yet wants most of all to be someone’s mother and someone’s little girl. She’s the Marilyn you haven’t seen before, the artist who, by masking the truth with an image, gives her greatest performance,” said Lifetime’s official release on the miniseries.

Sarandon will play Gladys Mortenson, a mentally ill and devout Christian Scientist, who pleaded with her daughter to give up drugs and return to her faith.

Mortenson is described by the Hollywood Reporter as “a diagnosed paranoid schizophrenic, who is the product of a mother who committed suicide as a result of her own mental illness, and a father who died of syphilitic insanity. Frequently delusional, sometimes violent, Gladys sexually adventurous in her youth but taught her daughter that sex should be avoided at all costs. Deeply devoted to Christian Science, she urges Marilyn to reject her reliance on drugs and that her salvation will be achieved by returning to the tenets of the faith.”

Stephen Kronish wrote the screenplay for Marilyn and will be directed by Laurie Collyer. The role of Marilyn Monroe has not been cast yet, and the miniseries is expected to premiere in 2015.

  • Ariana Grande Responds To Negative Comments

On Sunday, June 1, Ariana Grande took to her personal Twitter and Instagram accounts to pay tribute to the late Marilyn Monroe (June 1, 1926-August 5, 1962).

Had she still been alive, Monroe would have been celebrating her 88th birthday, and Grande wanted to take the time to honor her spirit.

Grande posted a black and white photo of Marilyn blowing out a birthday candle and captioned it by saying: “happy birthday marilyn #misunderstood #beautiful #innocentrebel.”

After viewing her posts, several fans posted negative comments about Grande encouraging young girls to admire someone who was as troubled as Monroe.

Nickelodeon’s Sam and Cat star then responded to the backlash by posting an explanation on Twitter, that has since been deleted.

“So much hate for celebrating Marilyn’s spirit on her birthday,” Grande wrote. “I adore her work and have compassion for her inner sadness that she covered up on a daily basis that a—–es like you made her feel in the first place!! Judging her for her wildly rumored personal life (which is truly no one else’s business) is only a distraction from her talent, beauty, comedic genius and effervescent spirit…”

“We should only and always focus on the beautiful things… because what we focus on expands….. which is why I feel for the people who focus on hate… because that’s all you have to give,’ Grande continued. “And I truly do feel sorry for you because when you’ve been dead for 50 some odd years… nobody will be wishing you a happy birthday.”

  • Alicia Silverstone Reminisces at ‘Clueless’ Reunion

There was a Clueless reunion Tuesday and it was, like, totally awesome.

Alicia Silverstone, 37, and her Clueless costars, Stacey Dash and Elisa Donovan, were reunited Tuesday, May 6, at the Nokia Theater for an L.A. Film Festival screening of the 1995 hit comedy that defined a generation and coined expressions like “as if” and “my bad.”

Joined by creator/director Amy Heckerling, the trio took to the stage for a Q&A session as diehard fans in the audience were “going wild.”

“I am so lucky that they were all out there at the time. I saw the ‘Cryin’ video for Aerosmith and when Alicia gave the finger, I said, ‘There’s my girl,” said Heckerling, referring to Silverstone’s appearances in Aerosmith music videos prior to Clueless. “We met and I just loved her immediately.”

Silverstone, 37, told the devoted fans that playing Cher was “wonderful” and “so much fun.”

“I thought I was channeling Marilyn Monroe and Lucille Ball,” said Silverstone. “And obviously that wasn’t the case. But I just felt like that! Especially when I pushed [Elton] off [of me at a house party],” she continued. “Those were the things that I found lovely.”

Heckerling said 47-year-old Dash was perfect to play Cher’s BFF Dionne.

“I wanted somebody that seemed like she was royalty and she can easily be government,” said the Look Who’s Talking director.

“We had so much fun,” gushed Dash. “[Heckerling] had such a clear vision and she was able to translate it to us perfectly.”

Heckerling told the audience each day on-set was a blast.

“It was a fun group. I don’t like getting up and going to work, but in this case, I was so happy every day.”

Donovan, who played meanie Amber in the film, remembered being young and carefree.

“Just as everyone said, it was such a magical experience,” said the 43-year-old actress. “That was my first movie. So to have such an extraordinary group of people, and to have everybody be young, and have so much fun, it was amazing.”

According to a source who attended the Q&A session, “It didn’t look like any time had passed. They all gelled so well together and looked like they could have stepped right back into those roles.”

Needless to say, the question of a possible sequel came up during the Q&A.

‘I’m game to whatever [director Amy Heckerling] has in store,’ said Silverstone. ‘I think that time has passed, though. I don’t even know what Cher would be up to these days.”

  • Kate Upton Channels Marilyn On The Red Carpet

Kate Upton wowed on the red carpet recently for the premiere of her film “The Other Woman”, drawing comparisons to Marilyn Monroe in a white strapless Christian Siriano gown and nude heels.

The Sports Illustrated model has earned good reviews for her foray into film; the movie also stars Leslie Mann and Cameron Diaz, and the women bonded on set as they do in the movie.

“I was on set with Cameron Diaz and Leslie Mann and they were the most inspirational and amazing women I had the honor to work with,” Upton said. “They were really helpful in my experience with the movie, and I really appreciated all of their advice and all of their encouragement throughout the movie set.”

The film focuses on a love triangle between married Mann and Diaz, who discover the man they both love isn’t who they thought. When they find out he’s also cheating with Upton’s character, the stakes get higher and all three women conspire to bring him down, bonding with one another in the process.

Upton’s mother, Shelley, raved about her daughter’s success recently, saying how proud she is of how well Upton is handling the pressure that comes with fame.

“She really is just so enthusiastic about everything. And when she’s excited about something, she gives it her best,” said Upton. “I just am so proud about how she has handled all the pressure that goes along with all the successes that are amazing as well. She seems to take it in stride and doesn’t seem to be inhibited at all.”

  • Marilyn Monroe X-Rays Sell For $25,600

Marilyn Monroe was one of the most photographed women of our time before her death in 1962, but surprisingly, it wasn’t a rare photo of her lovely face that fetched nearly $26,000 at auction recently; it was a photo of her skull.

That’s right, a batch of medical records belonging to the bombshell sold for $25,600 at a Julien’s auction, and they included X-rays of her face as well as entries from her psychoanalyst from their sessions. The records detail an ectopic pregnancy Monroe suffered when she was married to Arthur Miller, a dissolving chin implant, and a hairline fracture on her nose, which she said she received after a fall.

While many might be opposed to owning such personal items, Julien’s executive director Martin Nolan says that they are a piece of history and, because the records predate any laws against public viewing, it’s perfectly legal to sell them.

“Keep in mind, this is pop-culture history,” Nolan said. “[Marilyn’s] date back to the 1950s. Today there are laws preventing the release of such information, but this is prior to that law. Even though X-rays are not tangible like a musical instrument or clothing, it’s part of the story of Marilyn that people are buying. There is such a demand for her worldwide even though it is 50 years since she passed away. Honestly, I could have an auction every day for Marilyn Monroe and the items would be sought after.”

Monroe has been in the headlines quite a bit lately; it was announced earlier this month that she’ll be the newest face of Chanel No. 5, and will appear in never-before-seen footage for the scent’s ads.

  • Marilyn Monroe Is The Newest Face Of Chanel No. 5

Marilyn Monroe had one of the most recognizable faces in the world at the time of her death in 1962, and over the decades she has only gotten more famous. As an icon of the era, it’s almost difficult these days to equate her with an actual person who did the everyday things we do, like dab on perfume. That’s exactly what Chanel is counting on for their new ad campaign, however, and they’re banking on a very famous clip from an interview in which Monroe said that the scent was the only thing she wore to bed.

The luxury brand will be premiering the campaign this month and has released new photos and a video compilation of the star in conjunction with it. Captivating audio of an interview in which she describes being asked what she wears to bed accompanies never-before-seen footage of Monroe, which is sure to enthrall any fan.

“You know, they ask you questions. Just an example: What do you wear to bed?” Do you wear a pyjama top? The bottoms of the pyjamas? Or a nightgown?” she told Georges Belmont, then editor-in-chief of Marie Claire. “So I said Chanel No.5. Because it’s the truth.”

Monroe still holds the world’s attention, even 51 years after her death; in October of this year it was announced that several of the star’s X-rays were going up for auction, as well as previously unreleased medical records. Martin Nolan, the director of Julien’s auction house, said that the medical items were part of a history that fans would pay dearly to own.

“Keep in mind, this is pop-culture history,” Nolan said “[Marilyn’s] date back to the 1950s.

  • Marilyn Monroe’s Facial X-Rays Up For Sale

Marilyn Monroe’s Facial X-Rays Up For Sale

Marilyn Monroe had something more than sex appeal, more than talent, more than an intriguing personality. It was indefinable, a spark that shone on camera to garner so many fans that, even more than half a century after her death, we still want more.

Now, the news that a set of X-rays have come to light will lead to an auction, where fans will pay upwards of $20,000 for the privilege of owning them, as well as a batch of medical records from various years. According to auction house Julien’s, the lot includes an X-ray of Monroe’s nose showing a possible slight hairline fracture after she said she suffered a fall. Some Monroe historians say that it’s in the same spot where the actress had a rhinoplasty early in her career.

Other items in the medical records of note include a cartilage implant in her chin–which she complained about as having a “deformity” at one point–and an ectopic pregnancy when she was married to Arthur Miller. And while this very personal information being auctioned off might seem just wrong to some, executive director of Julien’s Martin Nolan says that the medical records predate any laws preventing them from being seen by the public.

“Keep in mind, this is pop-culture history,” Nolan said “[Marilyn’s] date back to the 1950s.

Indeed, the desire to have a genuine piece of Marilyn’s history is so strong that it has led to thievery; this past May, photos, display cases, and mannequins were stolen from an exhibit in Prague.

  • Marilyn Monroe Photos Stolen Before Exhibition

Photos of Marilyn Monroe which were supposed to go on exhibit at Prague Castle have been stolen, along with display cases and mannequins that were also to be included in the event.

The items were collected by Italian museum creators last year in tribute to the 50th anniversary of Monroe’s death and included the star’s shoes, clothing, and diaries. Those in charge of the exhibition have not decided whether they will go on with the Prague show; it’s scheduled to move on to Tokyo soon, however.

Monroe was one of the most photographed women in the world at the height of her fame; several pictures of her taken by friend and makeup artist Allan Snyder were auctioned off last year for a pretty penny. The movie star and beauty icon still holds our fascination, even decades after her death, and the PR firm handling the exhibition hopes to catch whoever nabbed the items so that they may be shared with the world.

  • Marilyn Monroe: Death Still Has Us Wondering After 50 Years

Marilyn Monroe’s death has fascinated and saddened us in equal amounts over the past 50 years, partly because she was the world’s greatest sex symbol/enigma and partly because of the odd circumstances surrounding her demise. Rumors have swirled around Hollywood that she was murdered–perhaps to keep something incriminating about JFK from getting out–and even one of the investigators involved in the case was under the belief that if her body was exhumed, those suspicions could be confirmed.

Although she enjoyed various relationships over the years–and a few marriages–the one that captured the whole world’s attention was the suspected tryst between the movie star and the president. It’s been speculated upon and dissected by many, but the secrets surrounding Monroe’s death and JFK’s involvement in it likely went to the grave with both of them.

In tapes released several years ago by Monroe’s psychiatrist, Dr. Ralph Greenson, Monroe sounds anything but suicidal; yet her death was deemed self-inflicted after it was discovered that she had a massive amount of barbiturates in her system. When her body was found and examined, no needle marks were found to suggest she had been injected with the drugs, yet the coroner discovered that the pills had entered her system through her large intestine, leading investigator John Miner to believe she had been given an enema which contained the drugs after being dosed with something strong enough to knock her unconscious. Several key points–including the fact that there was no glass of water in the room for Monroe to have washed down all those pills–led him to believe there was foul play involved. Indeed, her maid, Eunice Murray, was a key suspect after she gave an odd testimony as to what happened the night Monroe died and then later changed her story several times; for some reason, she was allowed to leave the country and was never pursued as a possible suspect.

Miner believes that Greenson destroyed the tapes after allowing him access to them during the investigation, because he didn’t want Monroe’s last words to fall into the wrong hands. He was adamant about protecting his client’s privacy, Miner says. If that’s true, it could be that the one thing which could give us answers about how she died is gone forever. And according to Miner, Monroe was not a person who was looking to end her life. She did, however, talk about her maid and how she wanted to get rid of her.

“Doctor, I want you to help me get rid of Murray,” she said. “I can’t flat out fire her. Next thing would be a book ‘Secrets of Marilyn Monroe by Her Housekeeper.’ She’d make a fortune spilling what she knows and she knows too damn much.”

  • Marilyn Monroe’s Never-Before-Seen Photos To Be Auctioned

Legend of the silver screen and global icon Marilyn Monroe has managed to remain a mystery to almost everyone since her death in 1962, despite the fact that she was one of the most photographed women in the world at the height of her fame. Having spent much of her childhood in foster homes, she would later become fiercely private about her personal life, which seemed at odds with her love of the camera.

For years, fans have cherished the many still photos of Marilyn because of the sense of familiarity they impart with the star, and now there are brand new pictures to add to that list.

Make-up artist Allan “Whitey” Snyder was a good friend of Marilyn’s; the two had a working relationship for almost 20 years, and in that time he took many photos of her, several of which have never been seen. Reportedly, he would do photo shoots with her to calm her down when she was feeling nervous. Snyder died in 1994, but his estate has only just gone up for auction, and the pictures are included.

Martin Nolan of Julien’s Auction House gave the Today Show a glimpse of some of the photos that will be included in the auction, which begins on March 31st.
