Leslie Mann, Cameron Diaz, Kate Upton Stun on ‘The Other Woman’ Red Carpet

Leslie Mann, Cameron Diaz, and Kate Upton wore distinctly different yet equally stunning gowns to the Los Angeles premiere of The Other Woman Monday night.

The premiere for the romantic comedy, which hits theaters Friday, was held at the historical Regency Village Theatre in Westwood.

Mann was said to have “stole the show” in a two-piece floor-length bright fuchsia and orange Monique Lhuillier ensemble and matching Oscar Tiye strappy sandal heels.

Diaz chose basic black in the form of a short, strapless Stella McCartney gown with a plunging neckline. She added interest with a pair of Manolo Blahnik beaded ankle wrap heels.

Former Sports Illustrated model Upton went with short and strapless too. Her gray Dolce & Gabbana minidress featured silvery flower appliques that matched her shiny silver Giuseppe Zanotti pumps.

In The Other Woman the three strike up a comical and rather unlikely friendship after discovering they’re all sleeping with the same man. They end up conspiring against the unsuspecting philanderer who is played by Game of Thrones star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.

“It’s a story about female friendship. Three women become friends and don’t fight over a lying, cheating man. They realize it’s not worth it. Instead, they come to each other’s rescue and help one another through heartbreak,” Diaz said of the film.

The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) originally gave The Other Woman an R rating for nudity but downgraded to PG-13 after a ratings appeal.

“I respect what the MPAA stands for,” Diaz, who attended the hearing, said. “We need guidelines, and I appreciate that. But I thought, in this instance, it wasn’t the right ruling for our film.”

Mann’s husband Judd Apatow attended the premiere along with their daughters Maude, 15, and Iris, 11.

A writer and producer known for his work on films such as Knocked Up and The 40-Year-Old Virgin and the hit HBO series Girls, Apatow commented on the ratings appeal and American attitudes toward nudity in movies:

“It’s interesting because there is more violence than sex scenes in PG-13 movies released here, yet overseas, there is not [as much] tolerance for violence as there is with nudity.”

An after party was held at the W Hotel in Westwood.

  • Jessica Biel Hits the Oscars Red Carpet Without Justin Timberlake

Jessica Biel showed up on the Oscars 2014 red carpet without husband Justin Timberlake.

The actress told Ryan Seacrest that Timberlake was “out on tour, busy working,” referring to her husband’s 20/20 Experience tour. Timberlake performed in Boston last Thursday and will be in Ft. Lauderdale Tuesday night.

Biel made several best-dressed lists Sunday night with her floor-length silver Chanel Haute Couture gown, Tiffany jewels, Manolo Blahnik heels, and loose side-swept Veronica Lake-style hair.

Biel and Jamie Foxx presented the Oscar for best original score. The award went to “Let It Go” from Frozen. Other nominees were “Happy” from Despicable Me 2, “The Moon Song” from Her, and “Ordinary Love” from Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom.

Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez composed the music and lyrics for “Let It Go.” Idina Menzel performed it in her role as Queen Elsa. Menzel also performed the song live at the Oscars Sunday evening.

Biel turns 32 today and her plans involve “… jumping on a plane, of course.”

Biel most recently starred alongside Kaya Scodelario in 2013’s The Truth About Emanuel and prior to that was cast opposite Gerard Butler in the romantic comedy Playing for Keeps. She is best known for her role as Mary on the long running series 7th Heaven.

  • Sarah Jessica Parker: Shoes, Bags and Clothes

Sarah Jessica Parker will have a new line of shoes, bags and clothing launching soon at Nordstrom stores and Nordstrom.com. The Sex and the City star’s character Carrie Bradshaw was known for her love of everything haute couture–especially her beloved Manolo Blahnik heels–so how surprising is it that Parker has designed a line of her own? It’s probably not a huge surprise for her fans–but a welcome announcement just the same.

Not all Nordstrom stores will carry the new Sarah Jessica Parker collection, but all pieces will be available online. The collection is set to launch on February 28th.

Parker’s shoes were made in Italy and the premiere line will feature 25 styles. They will range in price from $195 to $500 per pair. It seems her line has been based on Carrie Bradshaw’s taste. Her debut line of handbags will cost between $245 and $375. Her initial clothing debut will include just one piece–a trench coat. It will sell for $495 and is available in either navy blue or natural.

The actress, who is married to Ferris Bueller star Matthew Broderick, is also a busy mom. She tweeted her excitement over her new fashion line launch.

She shared a fun Instagram photo with her fans as well.

While Sarah Jessica Parker is certainly making headlines as a fashion designer, she also made news recently when talking about the prospect of a third Sex and the City film. She says two of her costars are up for a new movie as well.

“A part of me thinks there is one last chapter to tell,” Parker said in an interview with InStyle magazine. “But timing is a peculiar thing. It isn’t a decision that can wait forever. I don’t want to have to wear muumuus!”

Kristin Davis played Charlotte on Sex and the City. She had the following to say about a possible third movie.

“I would want to do it,” she said during an interview with ET. “I’m on record — I’ll be on record again — I feel like it’s the gift that keeps on giving. Our fans are beautiful and loyal and talk to me wherever I go, and in whatever country I’m in, and that means a lot to all of us. So if the situation arose where we had a script and everyone loved it, and the studio wanted to make it, I think that it would be fantastic and I hope it happens but I have no idea if it will happen.”

A third Sex and the City film would no doubt thrill fans. Do you suppose Sarah Jessica Parker could arrange for the characters to wear her new line of shoes, handbags and clothing?
