  • Peta Murgatroyd Sports Engagement Bling, Said “Yes” to Maksim Chmerkovskiy

Peta Murgatroyd is sporting some sparkly engagement bling these days–at least since this weekend, anyway. That’s when former fellow Dancing With the Stars pro dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy proposed to her in Miami. Peta Murgatroyd said yes.

Maks shared word of their engagement via Instagram. Someone captured the moment he proposed to Peta.

“She said ‘yes’ ?” he captioned it.

Peta Murgatroyd shared an Instagram post, too, captioning it, “I said yes!!!!!! ? You have my heart forever my love. Love always wins @maksimc.”

“I’m in love with you and I will be in love with you for the rest of my life,” Maks said to her during the proposal.

On Sunday, Petra Murgatroyd and Maksim Chmerksovskiy were out for a stroll in Miami, and her engagement bling was sparkling in the warm Florida sunshine.

Following their engagement the night before, as well as their performance in Miami, Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd celebrated their engagement with Maks’s brother, Val Chmerkovskiy.

  • Candace Cameron Bure Shares Sneak Peek at “Fuller House” Home

Candace Cameron Bure is proof positive you can always go home. That’s what she’s doing in the Netflix Full House reboot, Fuller House. Reprising her role as DJ Tanner, Candace Cameron Bure has been excited for every step along the way to the upcoming series. That’s why she was thrilled to share a sneak peek of her childhood (read: Full House) home via social media.

If the photo she shared doesn’t transport everyone back to the 1980s and 1990s, then nothing will.

They are building the Full House house on the Warner Brother's back lot! Welcome to my childhood home 🤗

Posted by Candace Cameron Bure on Wednesday, October 28, 2015

In Fuller House, DJ Tanner is a veterinarian and widowed mom of three. She’ll have plenty of help to help her raise her family, however. Best friend Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber) and sister Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin) are her reinforcements. In addition to Candace Cameron Bure, Bob Saget, Dave Coulier, Lori Loughlin, Scott Weinger, Blake and Dylan Tuomy-Wilhoit, and John Stamos will all make regular appearances on the show. John Stamos is also executive producing the show. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen won’t be returning for the reboot. They opted out of reprising the role of Michelle Tanner.

Candace Cameron Bure and Jodie Sweetin–in their roles as the Tanner sisters–will have some incredibly handsome love interests at some point during the show. Val Chmerkovskiy and Maksim Chmerkovskiy–both of Dancing With the Stars fame–will guest star on the show.

Are you as excited as Candace Cameron Bure to see the Tanner home in its creation on the Warner Brothers lot?

  • Karina Smirnoff and Fiance Jason Adelman Split Up

Karina Smirnoff and her fiance Jason Adelman have called it quits. It was only a couple of months ago when the couple announced their plans to marry.

E! News reports that Adelman proposed to Karina Smirnoff back in January. He gave her a Martin Katz emerald cut diamond ring that weighed in at just under five carats. The cost of such a piece of jewelry runs between $100,000 and $300,000.

Karina Smirnoff is best known for her Dancing With the Stars roles as pro dancer and dancing coach. Last season she competed in unison with UFC fighter Randy Couture, but the pair was eliminated during their third week of competition. She isn’t participating in season 20 of the show.

Former Dancing With the Stars pro Maksim Chmerovskiy was once engaged to Karina Smirnoff. Their engagement lasted about a year. She was also engaged to baseball star Brad Penny. That means this is the third broken engagement for Karina Smirnoff. What’s that all about?

Smirnoff hasn’t spoken out about her broken engagement. She appeared on The Heidi & Frank Show–a radio show–on Wednesday, but didn’t mention the split.

She captioned her post, “Had so much fun on @HeidiandFrank just now! What an amazing fun show! @frankArmy @HeidiHamilton @955KLOS #werejustnotthatintoyou.”

TMZ reports that Jason Adelman claims he broke his engagement with Karina Smirnoff because the two have “different family values.”

A rep for Karina Smirnoff reportedly told TMZ that Adelman’s comments are “disrespectful and insulting to the entire dance community” and it’s “nothing less than an attempted smear campaign from a malicious person.”

Regardless of the why or the how, it sounds like Karina Smirnoff and Jason Adelman are no longer engaged. Hopefully the two will go on to find love elsewhere if they couldn’t make their relationship with one another work.

  • Val Chmerkovskiy Excited About ‘DWTS’ Season 19

Val Chmerkovskiy is back and excited about the 19th season of Dancing With the Stars. The brother of longtime DWTS pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Val is paired this season with Pretty Little Liars star Janel Parrish.

Val recently spoke with Time magazine about Janel and their season 19 competition.

“Janel is one of those kids who grew up having a natural flair for performance,” Val told them. “She did singing and acting, but musical theater was the thing she really loved to do. She took some dance classes to complement that. She knows how to move and has some stage presence and she kept up with it, so she has been introduced to dancing before, but has never worked on ballroom dancing in her life.”

Val Chmerokovskiy is well aware that their combined resumes may indicate to fans and audience members that their performances should be stellar, and recognizes that it would behoove them as a dancing pair to exceed those expectations.

“I am humbled by the fact that people have a lot of expectations for her and myself. I want to surpass those expectations,” he says. When asked if he thinks he and Janel have it in them to take home the Mirror Ball Trophy this year, he diplomatically replies: “I think everybody on the show should think that way about their partners and their opportunities.”

“I’m not obsessing about the result as much as the process. I want to make this season great for her,” he also added.

NorthJersey.com asked Val Chmerkovskiy if he’s sad he’ll be the only Chmerkovskiy on DWTS this season.

“I’m ecstatic about that,” Val laughed. “Finally, he’ll stop hogging the spotlight.”

But, in all seriousness, the younger Chmerkovskiy recognizes a special time has ended if they are never “DWTS” pros together again.

“I’m definitely going to miss being able to share such a platform with him,” he said. “We’re constantly together, so it’s not something where I’m never going to see him again. But in terms of the blessing that was both of us being on the show, for our family, that was a huge privilege — for our grandparents, for our parents, for our friends. To be able to make it to this level in the profession is one thing, but to be able to do it with your brother is something that happens very rarely. I don’t take that for granted. I really appreciated that. But all good things come to an end.”

Even after just one night’s performance thus far for season 19 of Dancing With the Stars, Val Chmerkovskiy has already pegged a frontrunner.

“Alfonso Ribeiro is a great performer and I’m sure he’s going to be a highlight,” said Chmerkovskiy.

Are you a Val Chmerkovskiy fan? Will you be cheering him and his partner Janel Parrish on during Dancing With the Stars’ 19th season?

  • Val Chmerkovskiy Talks About Maks and Meryl

Dancing With the Stars heartthrob Val Chmerkovskiy basically confirmed what everyone who watched the show suspected: that his brother Maksim has feelings for his partner Meryl Davis, and she is smitten, too.

Fans of the show watched Maks and Meryl, who won the competition, form a connection with each other from the very beginning of the season. Chmerkovskiy admitted he had a crush on the Olympic ice dancer at the start, and the chemistry between the two only got steamier with each dance.

Rumors swirled that the pair were romantically involved, but the duo always played coy whenever asked. Val, however, spilled the beans about their feelings for each other.

“He loves her probably more than I’ve seen him love another woman,” he revealed in an interview with US Magazine. “He loves and adores her, but it’s like a King Kong type of relationship. She’s precious. He’s gentle with her because he wants to see her shine and he won’t want to hurt her. He’s willing to calm down for her because she’s the last person he wants to see cry and the last person he wants to hurt.”

Maks is known for being the “bad boy” of the show, but judges and dancers alike were all amazed at how the petite athlete essentially brought him to his knees. Many commented on how Davis is the only partner who has ever brought out the soft side of Chmerkovskiy.

This isn’t the first female on the show the Ukrainian-born dancer has fallen for. Word on the street was that Chmerkovskiy and his former partner and current DWTS host Erin Andrews were an item, and he was previously engaged to fellow show dancer Karina Smirnoff, although the relationship ended.

Will Davis and Chmerkovskiy become an official couple? We will have to wait and see, but according to Val, they will be in each others’ lives for a long time.

“He definitely loves her, and I know she loves him back,” Val continued. “We as a family love her, too. We love Meryl, but I don’t know if they were meant for each other or just meant to be in each other’s lives for this moment, or for many moments, definitely, as it’s a friendship they’ll keep for a very long time.”

  • Dancing With the Stars: Week 6 Recap

Dancing With the Stars: Week 6 Recap

Dancing With the Stars ended week 6 of its 18th season with a broken rib, some tears, and a judge named Redfoo. The LMFAO member and youngest son of Motown’s own Barry Gordy, Jr. was guest host for the week 6 competition.

The week started with NeNe Leakes talking up her relationship with dance pro Tony Dovolani.

“Tony and I have been through so much,” she said. “This week is definitely a chance for us to be a stronger unit.”

Cue the drama music and welcome on board the garbage mongers who thrive on the crap far more than on the dancing competition.

It was Danica McKellar who broke her rib this week. Even though the pair scored all nines from the judges for their rendition of Whitney’s Houston’s I Wanna Dance With Somebody—a broken rib is almost a guarantee that a mirror ball isn’t in Winnie Cooper’s future. The pain associated with this kind of injury is bad enough when one simply sits around to heal, but when breathing is excruciatingly painful, a dancer is in peril. Or at least her competitive skills are.

Candace Cameron Bure had to ramp up her sexy this week, and that isn’t something that comes easily to the devout Christian.

“Being the sexy girl isn’t inherently me, but I’ve played the sexy girl on TV before,” she said. “So I’m just gonna think of it as another character.”

She did a good job of it, too, as she and Mark Ballas danced to Icona Pop’s I Love It.

James Maslow and Peta Murgatroyd were spot on with their quickstep to Grease’s The One That I Want. Redfoo “loved” it and judge Carrie Ann Inaba called James a “leading man.”

Meryl Davis and Maksim Chmerkovskiy started with week with typical Maks drama (should he and NeNe Leakes maybe do their own Dancing With the Stars spinoff?) over a Julianne Hough comment.

“Phoning in? Did somebody really call me out on phoning in?”

His and Meryl’s tango earned them a perfect score, however, so Maks got to smile. Gloat?

Drew Carey and Cheryl Burke performed a respectable tango, but as anyone with dance prowess knows, ‘respectable’ isn’t good in the dance world.

Charlie White and Sharna Burgess turned up Charlie’s hip action and pleased the judges to no end.

Amy Purdy and Derek Hough were so good their dance prompted a marriage proposal from Bruno Tonioli.

    Spoiler Alert:

Drew Carey and Cheryl Burke went home this week.

Who are these stars? Does anyone honestly know where some of these so-called celebrities got their claim to fame? Maybe for season 19 Dancing With the Stars should be renamed Dancing to the Drama.

Do you think the show is more soap opera than dance competition–at least during some episodes?

  • Maksim Chmerkovskiy Dances Jive With Danica McKellar On DWTS

This past Monday on ABC’s hit dancing/reality show Dancing With The Stars, the star contestants did something that has never been done in the history of the nine-year-old show: they switched pro-dancing partners in what has been branded “The Switch-up.” The pairings for “The Switch-up” were chosen by the show’s online Twitter community, and one of the Twitter-created pairings placed Danica McKellar with “bad boy of the ballroom” Maksim (Maks) Chmerkovskiy.

The new switch-up was particularly interesting for McKellar, as her temporary new partner (Maksim Chmerkovskiy) was the older sibling of her current pro-dance partner Val (Valentin) Chmerkovskiy. For this week’s Dancing With The Stars, McKellar and Chmerkovskiy danced a Jive to “Love Me Right” by The Swag Geeks and Brook Penning. The couple performed their Jive with a 50’s theme with a juke box as a centerpiece and included two back-up dancers (a Dancing With The Stars troupe member and pro-dancer Lindsay Arnold) for select sections of their performance.

Not many people noticed, but during the start of their dance performance, there was a slight issue with the music; however, McKellar pressed onward during the performance. McKellar’s “switch-up” partner Maks commended his partner on the way she handled the tiny mishap which mainly went unnoticed.

McKellar and Chmerkovskiy’s Jive routine was comprised of various swing-based content, including the following sections:

    • Precise pointed-toe Jive flicks
    • Clean under-arm turns (first chorus)
    • Sugar pushes with whip (second chorus), more commonly seen in West Coast Swing.

Towards the conclusion of the Jive routine, McKellar runs up and hugs Val, who she will be paired back with for the remaining shows of the season.

Even though McKellar and Chmerkovskiy presented a well-performed Jive for us, the comments from the judging panel are what really gave the dancers some attention. During the judges’ critique of McKellar and Chmerkovskiy’s Jive, guest judge Julianne Hough lashed out at Maks with the following comment:

“I’m going to say this, because I am the brutal Julianne that I am. I almost felt that: Maks, I’m sorry, hun, you’re Mark this year. I felt that it was like this week could get past, so that you can get back with Meryl again.”

The Mark who Hough was referring to was other pro-dancer Mark Ballas, who Hough previously slammed last year during her first guest-judge appearance on the show. According to The Examiner, the “majority of viewers agree that the comments were not very constructive and Hough was way too personal in her feedback.”

Next week, McKellar will return with previous Chmerkovskiy sibling Val, and Maksim will return to Olympic skater Meryl Davis on Dancing With The Stars as they dance to their favorite Disney tunes. .

Kate Upton is Back on the Market

Christmas just came a little early for single men around the world. Kate Upton and professional dancer Maksim Chmerkovsky have reportedly broken up. Several sources told Us Weekly that after six months, the two have made an amicable split. The 21 year old Upton has been romantically linked to several different celebrities, including New York Jets quarter back Mark Sanchez and Detroit Tigers ace Justin Verlander.
