  • Lourdes Leon: Madonna’s Daughter One of the Faces of New Stella McCartney Campaign

Lourdes Leon, singer Madonna’s daughter, is one of the faces of a new Stella McCartney campaign.

Having sought out new faces for her Pop perfume campaign, Stella McCartney chose Lourdes Leon as one of a handful of new models. This marks the first time the 19-year-old has put herself in the media spotlight.

“I have a lot of people judging my every move,” Leon–who goes by Lola–says in an interview with Vogue. “It’s important for me to not let it rule my life.”

The Pop perfume campaign promotes “self-acceptance and positive mutual support,” and in a world where body shaming is way too common, the feel of the campaign appealed to Lourdes Leon.

“I go through this struggle myself, [where] women’s bodies have been made so public that everyone feels like they need to comment,” she says.

When asked what she thinks about the campaign’s be-true-to-yourself message of creativity and individuality, she says, “I love when someone doesn’t pretend to be someone they are not.”

Lourdes Leon may one day follow in Madonna’s footsteps. She is honing her singing and dancing skills at the University of Michigan.

In the meantime, she steps gingerly into the spotlight her mom wholeheartedly embraces.

This Stella McCartney campaign might become the first of many for Lourdes Leon.

Do you expect she will one day follow her famous mom onto the concert stage or might she stick with modeling instead?

  • Rocco Ritchie: Is Madonna Losing Custody of Her Son?

Rocco Ritchie remains in London with his father, Guy Ritchie, as the custody battle between his dad and Madonna is close to reaching a resolution.

People magazine reports Guy Ritchie expects the custody war will soon be won–with him as the victor.

At a New York Supreme Court hearing held Wednesday, Rocco Ritchie’s court-appointed attorney and the judge agreed that the teenager will remain in London with his father as they work at settling the dispute outside of court.

Rocco Ritchie left Madonna’s tour in December, and has been living with Guy Ritchie, attending school in London, since then–even though a judge ordered him returned to New York by January.

People reports that Guy Ritchie and Madonna were close to an agreement regarding Rocco Ritchie on Wednesday, but it all fell apart just hours ahead of the hearing.

A source tells the publication Madonna “is trying desperately to protect her son.”

Rocco Ritchie’s court-appointed attorney says the 15-year-old is “stressed out.”

“Of course Rocco is stressed out. In the few months he has been in the U.K., even though he has just been enrolled, Rocco has missed months of schooling,” the source alleges. “[He] has been photographed by paparazzi smoking suspicious cigarettes multiple times, has broken his wrist, shaved his head and been without supervision for days at a time…Madonna sees the damage that’s being done to Rocco, who has so much potential, which by his father’s influence is now being wasted and destroyed due to lack of guidance from [Ritchie].”

    Rocco Ritchie’s dad doesn’t like Madonna’s “old-fashioned” child-rearing philosophy.

“He wants Rocco to have the confidence he lacked growing up and thinks Madonna’s stern parental style is counterproductive,” a Ritchie source says. “The welfare of Rocco is Guy’s priority.”

Should Rocco Ritchie be allowed to remain with Guy Ritchie in London, or should he be returned immediately to Madonna in New York?

What do you expect the court will decide?

  • Rocco Ritchie Rejects Mom Madonna, Refuses To Spend Time With Her For The Holidays

Rocco Ritchie, the 15-year-old son of pop queen Madonna and British director Guy Ritchie, reportedly refused to return home to New York, and stayed with his dad’s family in London instead.

An insider told TMZ that Guy, 47, and Madonna, 57, have had a “volatile” relationship in the last several years, and most of it was caused by their son Rocco.

The Material Girl is said to be too strict a disciplinarian to Rocco, and it does not sit well with the teenager.

In addition, the “Like A Virgin” singer often shares “humiliating” photos of her son, and one even showed Rocco wearing pigtails.

So during Rocco’s visit with his father, Guy Ritchie may have “stoked the coals”, which worked in his favor.

As a result, Rocco Ritchie now refuses to return to his mom and siblings for the holidays.

The pop diva, who was in the middle of a world tour, then headed over to the Manhattan Supreme Court in order to demand Guy to send Rocco Ritchie back to New York City.

“I’m directing the child to be returned to New York,” Madonna said.

Meanwhile, an attorney representing Ritchie told reporters that Rocco “expressed very clearly” that he does not want to return home with his mom.

However, Justice Lewis Kaplan ruled that Rocco Ritchie should first see his mother before deciding on which parent he wishes to be with.

Despite his son’s decision to spend the holidays away from her, Madonna still sent her son a sweet Instagram post: “Merry X-mas to the Sun-shine of my Life!”

  • Rocco Ritchie–Did Dad Guy Ritchie Drive Wedge Between Son and Mom Madonna?

Rocco Ritchie is at the center of a heated custody dispute that may, in fact, be the result of a long-term feud between parents Guy Ritchie and Madonna.

TMZ reports things have been volatile between Madonna and Guy for years, and when Rocco Ritchie went to visit his dad in London this last time, Guy used it as an opportunity to drive a wedge between mother and son.

A judge ordered Rocco to return to New York before school begins again following Christmas break. He will then deal with legal proceedings in the U.S.

Eric Buckley serves Rocco Ritchie’s counsel in London.

“He has expressed very clearly that he does not want to return to New York,” he said last week.

Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Deborah Kaplan said if Rocco Ritchie wants to live in London with his dad, he first needs to return to New York first to make it official.

“I’m directing the child to be returned to New York. If he wants to stay with his father, he must return to his mother,” Kaplan told Madonna during a court hearing earlier this week.

A hearing took place on December 23, after Rocco Ritchie retained his own legal counsel in London. The lawyer was–at that time–holding Rocco’s passport for safe keeping. The London court, however, sided with the New York court, deeming Rocco must return to New York, where he’ll get his own court-appointed attorney.

“The parties should be doing this in New York instead of initiating it in England,” Kaplan added.

Hello! reports that as of Christmas Day, Rocco Ritchie hadn’t returned to the U.S. He spent Christmas with his dad in London.

Do you think there is really a problem between Rocco Ritchie and the Material Girl? Or has Guy Ritchie used typical 15-year-old discontent to his advantage, and fueled it into a more serious issue?

Will Rocco Ritchie return to the U.S. or will Madonna wind up going to London to retrieve him?

  • Rocco Ritchie Subject of Custody Battle Between Madonna and Guy Ritchie

Rocco Ritchie is the 15-year-old son of singer Madonna and her ex-husband Guy Ritchie. He is also the subject of a custody battle between the two.

Not wanting to live in New York with Madonna any longer, Rocco Ritchie wants to live in London with his dad. A judge ordered Rocco to return to New York before school begins again following Christmas break. He will then deal with legal proceedings in the U.S.

Eric Buckley is Rocco Ritchie’s lawyer.

“He has expressed very clearly that he does not want to return to New York,” he said.

Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Deborah Kaplan said if Rocco wants to live in London, he first needs to return to New York first to make it official.

“I’m directing the child to be returned to New York. If he wants to stay with his father, he must return to his mother,” Kaplan told Madonna during a court hearing earlier this week.

The Wednesday hearing took place after Rocco Ritchie retained his own legal counsel in London. That lawyer is presently holding Rocco’s passport for safe keeping. The London court, however, sided with the New York court, deeming Rocco must return to New York, where he’ll get his own court-appointed attorney.

“The parties should be doing this in New York instead of initiating it in England,” Kaplan added.

Rocco Ritchie is just one of Madonna’s four children. He has one younger brother from his parents’ marriage and two half-sisters.

Do you expect Rocco Ritchie will be allowed to live with his dad in London, or will he have to stay with Madonna in New York instead?

  • Idris Elba Is Opening for Madonna in Berlin

No, it’s not James Bond or a The Wire prequel. You might not know that apart from his acting chops, Elba moonlights as a DJ – and he’s putting that talent to work for a pretty huge act.

  • Jessica Chastain Spanks the Material Girl

Jessica Chastain Spanks the Material Girl

Jessica Chastain was invited up on stage to dance with Madonna during her concert in Prague on Saturday. The Material Girl’s Rebel Heart Tour has thus far grossed approximately $50 million.

Shortly after she was pulled from the audience, Jessica Chastain danced to the reggae-flavored song “Unapologetic Bitch” from Madonna’s “Rebel Heart” album. After getting down to the music for a minute or so, Chastain impulsively spanked Madonna, who was crawling on her hands and knees in front of her.

Just like Taylor Swift, Madonna has been known lately for inviting A-listers up on to the stage during her concerts for an impromptu dance party. It’s likely this is planned well ahead of time.

Jessica Chastain was in Prague, where she’s filming The Zookeeper’s Wife. The film is based on the diaries of Antonina Zabinksi, in the book by Diane Ackerman.

This wasn’t Jessica Chastain’s first time meeting Madonna. Back in 2011, Madonna presented her with the Gucci Award for Women in Cinema in Venice at the Venice Film Festival.

Jessica Chastain isn’t the first A-lister Madonna has brought up on stage recently either. Katy Perry, Anderson Cooper, and Amy Schumer have all graced her stage of late.

None other than Jessica Chastain, however, can lay claim to having spanked the Material Girl.

  • Janet Jackson Makes History With Seventh Number One Album, “Unbreakable”

Janet Jackson has made history with her seventh album, “Unbreakable,” hitting the number one spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart. She is only the third act to have number one albums in each of the last four decades.

Only Barbra Streisand and Madonna are ahead of Janet Jackson in this number one albums’ race.

“Unbreakable” is Janet Jackson’s first album since “Discipline” was released in 2008. It is her eleventh studio album.

Check out the following statistics Billboard shares about Janet Jackson’s latest album.

The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA).

The new Oct. 24-dated chart (where Jackson is No. 1) will be posted in full to Billboard’s Web sites on Tuesday, Oct. 13.

Unbreakable — which was released on Oct. 2 — arrives atop the chart with 116,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending Oct. 8, according to Nielsen Music. Of that sum, the set sold 109,000 in pure album sales.

Unbreakable is Jackson’s first studio album since 2008’s Discipline, which also debuted at No. 1. Jackson previously led the list with All For You (2001), The Velvet Rope (1997), janet. (1993), Janet Jackson’s Rhythm Nation 1814 (1989) and Control (1986).

Barbra Streisand and Janet Jackson arein rare company: along with Bruce Springsteen, the three performers are the only acts with No. 1 albums in the last four decades: ’10s, ’00s, ‘90s and ’80s.

Unbreakable is also Jackson’s first independently distributed album, and it was released on her own Rhythm Nation label through BMG. The set also starts at No. 1 on the Independent Albums chart.

  • Madonna: Age Questions Are Sexist; Cooking Questions Are Not

Madonna is still the reigning Queen of Pop, even though she’s getting stiff competition in that arena. At 56 years of age, she shows no sign of stopping, but don’t ask her about her age.

“To me it’s a sexist thing to ask why I keep going,” Madonna told Entertainment Weekly. “No one said to Picasso when he was 80, ‘why are you painting?’”

Why does Madonna think asking her that is sexist?

“Because he’s a man and nobody asked him that,” Madonna insists. “But because I’m a woman, people ask me. Does anyone ask Mick Jagger why he keeps going on tour?”

Well, yes. They ask Mick Jagger that. But Madonna apparently has never read that.

She does, however, have a lot to say about how she manages to stay is such great shape for her tours. Madonna says she eats a lot.

“I eat anything I can get my hands on,” Madonna said. “I have to keep eating so I have energy. I eat food, you know normal food. Omelettes for breakfast. Healthy lunches, and things like that, but I’m also supplementing that with power shakes in those energy bars.”

How does a megastar like Madonna manage to eat well when she stays so busy?

“I have a woman who follows me around. I called her the food police. ‘Are you eating? Did you drink enough water?’”

Does Madonna cook for herself? That’s not a sexist question, honest.

“Cooking is not one of my talents, I’m sorry to say,” Madonna reveals. “Everyone asked me that, including my 14-year-old son Rocco, who is absolutely not satisfied with all of my accomplishments. He just wants me to cook for him. I’m like, ‘OK, I’ll get to that. I promise you, when this tour is over with, I’m going to cook for you.’”

  • Christian Audigier: Ed Hardy Designer Dies of Blood Disease

Christian Audigier, the French designer known for creating the Ed Hardy brand of clothing, has died of a rare blood disease at the age of 57.

Michele Elyzabeth is Audigier’s longtime publicist. She confirmed his passing in a statement.

“I just heard the news and I am truly devastated. Christian was an incredibly brilliant man. He will be missed,” she said.

Diagnosed with MDS (Myelodysplastic Syndrome) back in January, Christian Audigier was admitted to an L.A. hospital recently in a comatose state. He reportedly woke up from the coma prior to passing away. MDS is the same disease Good Morning America co-host Robin Roberts suffered from. She received a bone marrow transplant from her sister in her efforts to beat the disease.

Christian Audigier created the Ed Hardy label in the early 2000s. Made even more popular by celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Ashton Kutcher, Nicole Richie, and Madonna, the popular trucker hats, t-shirts, swimsuits, dresses, and more were hugely popular.

“My demo is tabloid magazine,” Audigier said in a 2009 interview with GQ. “I am different from the other designer. Because what they say they hate, I love. They say they hate it but they always looking at it.”

Christian Audigier sold the Ed Hardy line to Iconix Brand Group in 2011 for more than $60 million.

The brand slipped in popularity almost as quickly as it soared. Kate Gosselin’s ex-husband Jon Gosselin has been mercilessly targeted in the tabloids in recent years for still wearing Ed Hardy t-shirts.

It’s sad that Christian Audigier has lost his battle with MDS. Sadly, not everyone is being respectful in light of his passing.

Surely more information about Christian Audigier’s passing and any funeral plans will be shared with the media in the coming days.

Her latest endeavor is a new music video for her single High off My Love.

The video has a definite S&M vibe about it, which Paris Hilton says was inspired by the sexy book and film.

“I always love Madonna’s Justify My Love, so I did the video with that in mind. Also I like 50 Shades of Grey, so it’s a mixture of both… It’s so good, it’s so gorgeous,” she gushed about the music video to British edition of OK! magazine.

“It [Paris’ music video] has an S&M vibe, outfits, just a bunch of male models making out, like, sexual,” said the magazine about the video.

Paris Hilton, 34, who is currently single, wanted the song and video to capture the feelings that falling in love inspires.

“I was in Miami writing the song and I wanted it to be about love and how it makes you feel alive, high, good and amazing,” she smiled.

“So that’s why I came up with the track, and I wanted to do something different to my other videos.”

Paris Hilton has dated Benji Madden and Jared Leto, among others, in the past. She most recently broke up from 23-year-old model last July. However, that hasn’t kept her from reflecting on love and to keep optimistic about her love life in the future.

While Paris continues to enjoy the single life, her 31-year-old sister Nicky Hilton is busy planning her wedding to James Rothschild. Paris will serve as her sister’s maid of honor and has said she’s busy dreaming up a special bachelorette party.

  • Rita Ora And Madonna Reunite In Secret Music Video

Good news for Rita Ora fans. The singer has reportedly filmed a secret music video with the “Material Girl” herself, Madonna.

The “Vogue” songstress and the 24-year-old Ora were said to have developed a friendship after meeting at different showbiz events. An insider even commented there was a “real connection” there that went beyond the normal business-related relationships.

Ora was one of the few people who came to 56-year-old music superstar’s defense after the incident with Drake and the two became closer after that.

During a performance at Coachella, Madonna pulled Drake into a passionate French kiss that was typical of the “Like a Virgin” star. But Drake appeared to be disgusted by the kiss, and was seen making a face and wiping his mouth afterwards.

The singer received a not so small amount of ridicule after the incident.

But Ora came to Madonna’s defense, posting a steamy 90’s photo of the pop legend on Instagram that showed off her athletic body in pasties and a sheer leotard.

“Thank you for fighting all these ageist battles, and paving a way, that just maybe one day, all of us ‘Younger’ Artists won’t have too in the future,” Ora’s message said.

And it seemed that Madonna was appreciative of the gesture as well.

A music video with an icon like Madonna might just be the extra push the “I Will Never Let You Down” hit maker needs to make it big in the US.

“It’s an incredible coup for Rita to do a vid with Madonna and shows how big she is becoming in the States,” a source close to the singer said.

And Ora was so excited that she even “changed her schedule to be able to do the filming in an instant.”

This isn’t the first time that the two have worked together. The British singer has also been tapped to be the face of Material Girl, Madonna and daughter Lourdes’ clothing line.

  • Katy Perry, Madonna, Gaga Photo Nearly Breaks The Internet

Katy Perry, Madonna, and Lady Gaga all appeared at the Met Gala on Monday and posed for a photo together despite the event’s rules about cell phones. Today, the photo is making its way around the web as fans try to decipher the caption.

Perry posted the pic to her Instagram account, writing, “Dropping our single tomorrow”. The photo didn’t quite break the internet, but hopeful fans who have been waiting for just such an announcement took to social media to talk it out. Unfortunately for them, it appears Perry was just being facetious. However, the photo itself is still being held up as a history-making moment as fans of all three women celebrate an image of such huge stars spending time together.

There have been rumors of a feud between all three women in recent months, with some saying Madonna and Gaga had a beef over the song “Born This Way” and its similarity to “Express Yourself”. Earlier this year, word got around that Perry and Gaga had some issue after one of Perry’s tweets was said to be about Gaga’s song “Alejandro”. All three have spoken out against the stories, saying that people like to make up drama between women where there is none.

Perry, Gaga and Madonna have all been rumored to have ongoing feuds with one another, and Perry has also been implicated in a feud with Taylor Swift after a Rolling Stone interview in which Swift talked about another artist who tried to hire her backup dancers away from her.

“For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not. She would come up to me at awards shows and say something and walk away, and I would think, ‘Are we friends, or did she just give me the harshest insult of my life?’” Then last year, the other star crossed a line. “She did something so horrible. I was like, ‘Oh, we’re just straight-up enemies.’ And it wasn’t even about a guy! It had to do with business. She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour. She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me. And I’m surprisingly non-confrontational – you would not believe how much I hate conflict. So now I have to avoid her. It’s awkward, and I don’t like it.”

Swift later said that she wouldn’t give the media any more fuel and refuses to talk about Katy Perry when asked.

  • Kelly Ripa Lauds Dr. Frederic Brandt at His Memorial

Kelly Ripa sang the praises of her dear friend, Dr. Frederic Brandt, at his memorial service at Lincoln Center in New York City on Thursday. Surrounded by more than 3,000 white orchids, she took the stage to pay tribute to the late cosmetic surgeon, who took his life on April 5th in his Coconut Grove, Florida home. He was 65.

The last of 11 speakers at the memorial, Kelly Ripa told the crowd how sad she was to be speaking of her friend in this manner.

“This is the saddest thing that I never thought I would have to do,” she said. “When I look out into this room I see so many beautiful faces and I realized that Fred is all around us. He is with all of us now.”

In addition to Kelly Ripa, Dr. Frederic Brandt treated celebrities including Madonna, Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, Stephanie Seymour, and Joy Behar. The View co-host spoke with People magazine about the late doctor.

“He was so much fun,” she said. “We used to talk about Bette Davis all the time.”

“He was just a great person, a great friend,” Kelly Ripa said on Live! With Kelly and Michael. “He will be missed. I cannot tell you how much I will miss him. I’ll miss him every day of my life.”

Ripa shared a funny story about Frederic Brandt at the memorial, too.

She talked about suffering a break-out when she was scheduled to shoot a TV commercial. She called the doctor, who came to her rescue but made sure she knew he was on a very tight schedule and a solution had to be found very quickly so he could get back to his office.

“Then a group of male models disrobed and oiled up and suddenly Fred and I are ordering lunch,” she said. “We sat there with the door cracked open giggling like children. We laughed so much that day.”

“That is what I will remember the most about him: his laughter, his unabashed joy, his sense of humor, his kindness, his selflessness,” she said. “He gave us everything he had and there will never be another Fred Brandt.”

Kelly Ripa lost a dear friend with the untimely death of Dr. Brandt. Hopefully speaking such wonderful words about him at his memorial service will help her start to heal.

  • Charlize Theron Addresses Possible Marriage to ‘Hot’ Boyfriend Sean Penn, Gushing ‘Like A 16-Year-Old’

Charlize Theron is in love with Sean Penn and she doesn’t care who knows it.

In an interview for a cover story for Esquire magazine, 39-year-old Charlize Theron addressed naysayers who thought the couple had nothing in common back when they began dating in January 2014.

“We’ve been friends for 20 years. He was married, I was in a long-term relationship, our spouses—not regularly, but we were in each other’s lives. I think our friendship stemmed from mutual respect—more on my end, because I really didn’t have a body of work 20 years ago, but my love and passion for making films—that was our common ground,” Theron said.

“And also, Sean liked to have conversations outside of just making movies. That’s sometimes hard to find among friends here, and that’s where our friendship really blossomed. A lot of people want to tell you the answer to solving all of Africa’s problems from what they’ve seen on CNN. Sean is not that guy. When he started working in Haiti and I started working on the AIDS front in South Africa, we spent a lot of time talking about those worlds,” said Charlize Theron.

Not only was Charlize Theron surprised at her unexpected luck to find the man of her dreams, she said Sean Penn was just as surprised to fall for her.

“I think that for both of us there was never a moment where we thought that this—what we have today—would ever even be a possibility. Ever, ever, ever. I think we’re both finding ourselves at this moment in our lives kind of shocked. Both of us,” CharlizeTheron said. “Just when you think you know how things are supposed to go down, life just kicks you in the ass and guess what? You don’t have a clue.

“It is nice to be in something where the friendship came first. I’ve never had that,” said Charlize Theron, who dated musician Stephan Jenkins from 1997 to 2001 and actor Stuart Townsend from 2001 to 2010.

Charlize added that basing a relationship on friendship brings an additional dimension to the relationship.

“There’s a weight to the relationship already that I don’t think you have when you just meet somebody and enter a relationship,” Charlize Theron said. “There’s a foundation of 20 years that the two of us have shared with each other in all these different ways that is really the foundation of something that has brought a lot of beautiful things into my life. We get so stuck in wanting to predict the future that we forget the moment that we’re in. And the moment that we’re in is just really good. It’s really good, really nice.”

On everyone’s mind these days is the question of whether Sean Penn will pop the question to Charlize Theron anytime soon.

“The marriage thing is always so strange to me. I love the possibility of anything, but I’m really enjoying myself and the everyday moment and how that coincides with my son and my life and my friends. I’m a very, very, very lucky girl. Very lucky. He’s hot. He is hot,” Charlize Theron said. “How do you say that in an interview? You’re a 40-year-old woman sounding like a 16-year-old. There’s something beautiful about that, but you lack the articulation of really saying what it’s like when somebody walks into your life and makes you see something that you really never thought you’d be able to see. If somebody had said to me, ‘This is what it will be,’ I would’ve said, ‘F–k off.’ As you can see, it makes me smile.”

Sean Penn was previously married to Madonna and Robin Wright.

What do you think of Charlize Theron and her words about Sean Penn? Will their relationship stand the test of time?

  • Kelly Ripa Grief Stricken Over Death of Dr. Fredric Brandt

Kelly Ripa Grief Stricken Over Death of Dr. Fredric Brandt

Kelly Ripa appeared grief stricken on Live! With Kelly and Michael on Tuesday.

“He was such a great man… he was just a great person, a great friend, he will be missed–I cannot tell you how much I will miss him. I will miss him every day of my life,” she said while on the air.

Cosmetic surgeon Dr Fredric Brandt was found dead by suicide inside his Miami mansion on Sunday. Kelly Ripa had long been among his celebrity clients–and dear friends.

“If you love someone tell them every day that you love them because you don’t know if you will have that opportunity….It’s sad. Oh my gosh, he was just the best. He would sing to you while he put Botox in your face–any song you wanted. He could sing anything at a moment’s notice,” she said.

On Monday, Kelly Ripa tweeted her heartache upon learning that Dr. Brandt had died over the weekend.

Kelly’s husband, Mark Consuelos, retweeted sentiments about the plastic surgeon’s passing.

In addition to Kelly Ripa, some of Dr. Frederic Brandt’s other celebrity clients included Madonna and Joy Behar. There were, of course, numerous others.

Her favorite song is somewhat obvious. Madonna said, “My all-time favorite Madonna song is ‘Bitch, I’m Madonna’—naturally.”

I bet you didn’t know that Madonna is dying to go on a date with Drake!

“The lifelong ambition I still want to fulfill is to go on a dream date with Drake—and only kiss him,” Madonna confessed.

However, she’d probably settle for 79-year-old French actor Alain Delon.

Madonna said, “The last time I was starstruck was when Alain Delon called me while I was in Copenhagen during my last tour. I was trying to get him to do an onstage cameo during a small show in Paris. I was shaking because I love him so much! I never met the dude and only knew him from movies.”

She added, “He was my ridiculous teenage crush.”

    Give it to me Paris…….. @legrandjournal #rebelheart

So fun to know some facts about Madonna before her 2015 tour kicks off! Will you be going to one of her shows?

  • Madonna: One of My Earliest ‘Shocking Moments’ Was a Total Mistake

Madonna has seen her share of shocking moments in her career. Perhaps it’s more accurate to say that Madonna has been the source of shocking moments throughout her career.

Sometimes, people think that Madonna intentionally sets out to shock and offend people. They figure that is her stock in trade. And when she tries to do something normal, like adopt children, she is pilloried by people who think she is unfit.

Howard Stern recently asked Madonna about all the flak she has caught from the Catholic Church for her videos, performances, and other activities that they deem offensive.

“I don’t care about the Pope — don’t get me wrong; it’s not that I don’t care about the Pope [as a person] — I don’t care if the Vatican thinks I’m ‘Catholic material’ or not. That’s cool with me. But I find it really strange that people gave me a really hard time for adopting children. I’ve certainly wanted to crawl into a hole, and that was one of those moments.”

Especially since Howard Stern is also generally thought of as trading in shock — he is one of the original “shock jocks” — the two talked about how odd it is that anything they do would shock anyone anymore. As Madonna pointed out:

“I think that thinking for yourself and having a strong opinion and going against the grain is shocking to most people. We live in a very Puritanical country. Killing is ok, but …”

She then told a story that turned the whole Madonna Mythology on its ear. One of her earliest “shocking moments” was when she performed “Like a Virgin” live at the very first MTV Video Music Awards. She rolled around on the stage, and her elegant dress came up, showing the audience — live and televised — her backside. Everyone figured that was Madonna, doing anything to shock people.

That incident has been pointed to as an early harbinger of misbehavior to come for Madonna’s entire career. But Madonna tells the story differently.

“When I did Like a Virgin, when I performed it live for the first time, my shoe fell off on stage. I had come down the wedding cake and my shoe fell off, and I thought, ‘Oh shit, I can’t dance in one shoe… How am I gonna play this out?’ So I just dove for it, and my dress went up, and my butt was showing.

:Now, everyone’s showing their butt now. Back then, no one saw anyone’s butt. And I didn’t know my skirt was up. So I proceeded to sing the song laying down on the ground. I was just like making the best of the situation — which is what I do; like when I got yanked off the stage by my cape the other day. I’m hard-wired to just keep going.

“After I got offstage during that performance, my manager was white as a ghost. He looked at me and he said, ‘Do you know what you just did?’

“I said, ‘Yeah, I sang a song, and I lost my shoe onstage.’

“He said, ‘No, your butt was showing for the entire song. Your career is over.’

“I felt really bad, but I didn’t do it on purpose. I mean, I wasn’t that apologetic. I was just like, ‘Fuck it. I made a mistake.’

“But when you’re told your career is over decade after decade, year after year, at this point, it’s just noise. People just like to give me shit.”

  • Madonna: Gays Doing Well; Time for Women

When Madonna recently gave an exclusive interview to Out! Magazine, she said something that has ignited a bit of controversy.

While Madonna is very proud of her background and involvement in the gay community, she contrasts the advances in rights for gays and African-Americans with those of women.

“Gay rights are way more advanced than women’s rights. People are a lot more open-minded to the gay community than they are to women, period. It’s moved along for the gay community, for the African-American community, but women are still just trading on their ass. To me, the last great frontier is women.”

“Women are still the most marginalized group,” she says. “They’re still the group that people won’t let change.” To be a successful woman, she asserts, “you must fit into this box: You must behave this way, dress this way.”

Madonna backs up her assertions of marginalization with her own tales of treatment as producer of her own records.

“People are always saying, ‘So he’s the producer,’ or ‘Who produced it?’ and I have to say, ‘I did. I co-produced that with Diplo. I co-produced that with Kanye.’ Whatever — everything is a co-production. I’m the one who stays in the studio throughout, from beginning to end — all of these people come and go.”

This is a battle that Madonna has been fighting all her career. She has dragged the categorization of women into the light and blazed a path for artists who follow her, like Lady Gaga. But she is not done evangelizing on the topic.

“You’re still categorized — you’re still either a virgin or a whore. If you’re a certain age, you’re not allowed to express your sexuality, be single, or date younger men.” She points out that her own proclivity for dating younger men, even a succession of them, is seen as somehow unseemly. But, she points out that such behavior in “a man would never be questioned or criticized.”

  • Madonna: ‘I Don’t Have a Lot of Celebrity Friends’

Madonna is one of the most successful musicians ever. Three hundred million albums sold. In the Pantheon of Top Musicians, there are the Beatles, Elvis, Michael Jackson, and Madonna. These are the highest-selling artists of all time.

You would think that Madonna would have tons of celebrity friends. But, as she explained to Howard Stern recently, it doesn’t always work that way.

“I get to meet everyone, but they don’t necessarily become friends. Celebrities are really weird around other celebrities. They’re actually quite shy. I don’t have a lot of celebrity friends. Everybody is busy working. And, celebrities hooking up with celebrities is pretty rare.”

Celebrity and awards are not really the highest priority for Madonna anymore.

“When it comes to getting into the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame, I’m somewhere in the middle. I know it’s an honor, but I don’t really care about awards and things. I care about how I live my life, how I treat people, and if I raise good children.”

When asked if someone with her wealth and schedule actually hires people to raise her kids, Madonna almost got offended.

“It’s true I do have help, but they don’t raise my kids. They don’t teach them morals. They’re not stand-ins.”

Since Madonna’s own mother died when Madonna was only six years old, raising her children is a very important matter to her. How she manages to do that without the benefit of having watched her own mother was another question.

“I think you just learn as you go. I try to be the mother that I didn’t have. I tried to be all those things that I wanted. I tried to be nurturing. I tried to be their friend. I tried to be there for them. Sometimes I make mistakes. Sometimes things don’t go the way I planned. I ask my sister for her advice, because she was raised by my grandmother, and she is a good mother.”

  • Madonna: ‘Gay Men Understood Me, But Wanted No Sex!’

Madonna recently gave an exclusive interview to Out! Magazine in which she spoke a lot about the influence gay men have had on her life.

When Madonna was in middles school, her ballet teacher, Christopher Flynn, was the first person she knew that caused her to feel “conscious of understanding that there was such a thing as gay,” she says.

“It wasn’t called that then. I just came to understand that he was attracted to men.” Flynn was a huge influence on Madonna.

“He would bring me to museums. He also brought me to the first gay disco in Detroit, Menjo’s.”

In fact, it was her own brother’s behavior around her ballet teacher, as opposed to other girls, that clued Madonna in that she actually lived closer to that part of America than she thought.

“It wasn’t something I could articulate; it was just something instinctual that I noticed,” Madonna said. “My brother always had a lot of girls around him that seemed like they were madly in love with him, but he didn’t seem like he was madly in love with them. And then I saw him interacting with my ballet teacher, and in my mind I unconsciously went, ‘Oh, I get it.’ I didn’t ask my brother if he was gay. I didn’t even know there was a phrase ‘gay.’ I just understood that they were different. There was some silent, unspoken understanding that they had a connection.”

Eventually, Madonna identified so much with New York’s gay community that she felt out of place in the rest of the world, particularly among heterosexual men.

“I felt kind of left out,” she says. “I didn’t feel like straight men understood me. They just wanted to have sex with me. Gay men understood me, and I felt comfortable around them. There was only that one problem, which is that they didn’t want to have sex with me! So…conundrum! I was like, ‘How am I ever going to get a date? Maybe if I cut my hair and I lose a lot of weight, someone will mistake me for a guy and ask me out.’ ”
