  • Christina Hendricks On Being Spit On As A Goth

Christina Hendricks has become one of the biggest sex symbols of our generation, and in the role of Joan Harris on Mad Men, she’s become one of television’s biggest stars. But the actress says things weren’t always so great for her, and in high school she was bullied.

“We had a locker bay, and every time I went down there to get books out of my locker people would sit on top and spit at me. So I had to have my locker moved because I couldn’t go in there…I felt scared in high school. It was like Lord of the Flies. There was always some kid getting pummeled and people cheering,” she said.

Hendricks says that one of the ways she dealt with the ridicule and negative attention was to become goth, which her mother warned her against, saying she would push people away.

“I don’t want those people to be my friends. I’m never going to be friends with the people who beat up a kid while everyone is cheering them on. I hate them,’” Hendricks told her mother.

It’s extremely hard to believe now that anyone would bully Hendricks, but the difficult high school years often play a part in the future of the most talented artists. Being in a creative field such as acting, she says, helped her get past it.

Hendricks opened up recently about a near-miss when it came to starring on Mad Men, saying her former talent agency dropped her for wanting to take a role on a show they didn’t think would make it.

“I had been on several shows that were meant to be the big ones, that would go on forever…and they didn’t….why not do the one you’re in love with and take a chance on that?” she said.

  • Christina Hendricks On Philip Seymour Hoffman

Christina Hendricks, who plays flashy redhead secretary Joan on Mad Men, has not always had it easy. Even the stars that you would think must have always had it made, sometimes had to struggle to get where they are.

Hendricks said in an interview with The Guardian that she absolutely hated high school and that she was bullied.

“We had a locker bay, and every time I went down there to get books out of my locker people would sit on top and spit at me. So I had to have my locker moved because I couldn’t go in there… I felt scared in high school. It was like Lord of the Flies. There was always some kid getting pummelled and people cheering.”

Therefore, Christina Hendricks did what many kids, who didn’t quite fit in, did back then. She went goth.

She admitted to dyeing her hair black and shaving the back. She even admitted wearing lots of black and those knee-high Doc Marten boots that were widely coveted, but narrowly afforded.

I bet some of those kids who bullied Christina Hendricks are looking back in regret now. Of course, her parents tried to discourage her choice of attire and hairstyle, but they were unsuccessful.

“My parents would say, ‘You’re just alienating everyone. You’ll never make any friends looking like that.’ And I would say, ‘I don’t want those people to be my friends. I’m never going to be friends with the people who beat up a kid while everyone is cheering them on. I hate them,’” Christina Hendricks said of such conversations with her parents.

When asked if she was surprised about God’s Pocket co-star Philip Seymour Hoffman‘s death in February from mixed drug intoxication, Christina Hendricks said,

“I mean, I was because he’d seemed so great… um… and, you know, we’d just been at Sundance with him the week before and he seemed fantastic. I knew he’d had problems in the past but I really did think it was in the past. I was so surprised.”

It must have been hard for Christina Hendricks to watch the premiere of God’s Pocket knowing that Hoffman, who played her husband in the movie, was no longer alive. It’s just hard to see the image and hear the voice of someone that has passed.

“I was saying to my husband [the actor Geoffrey Arend] that sometimes when you have a friend who passes, it feels very, very final,” Christina Hendricks said. “But something about Philip… I keep thinking I’m going to see him again. I guess, when I watch the film now, I feel like it’s a celebration of him. I feel lucky to have gotten to work with him. I feel grateful and I feel sad.”

Good luck to Christina Hendricks on her fifth straight year to be nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama! Maybe this year’s the year!

  • Christina Hendricks Gets The Last Laugh

If Christina Hendricks had listened to her former agency, Mad Men may not have had the character of Joan as we know her today.

Apparently these misguided souls believed that if Hendricks took the role, she’d be committing career suicide!

“[They said], ‘It’s a period piece, it’s never going to go anywhere. We need you to make money and this isn’t going to make money.’”

Hendricks recounted the conflict during her interview with British news organization The Guardian.

Both the 39-year-old actress and her manager loved the part and saw the potential in the show.

When Hendricks refused to pass up a role she felt was right for her, the agency ended up dropping her.

Said Hendricks, “I had been on several shows that were meant to be the big ones, that would go on forever…and they didn’t.”

The actress then thought to herself, “why not do the one you’re in love with and take a chance on that?”

Hendricks followed her heart right into a memorable role as the character Joan Holloway, everyone’s favorite red-haired bombshell.

One can’t help but wonder what her former agency, the ones so convinced Hendricks was making a mistake, had to say for themselves after the fact?

She’s spent several seasons on an award-winning show and came away one of the biggest standouts, creating a memorable character in the process.

Odds are her former bosses are some place choking on crow feathers with a side of humble pie.

It just goes to show that sometimes the very people charged with guiding your career are the last people you should be listening to.

Hendricks listened to her heart and her desire for happiness and it seems to be leading her places.

Mad Men enters its final season in 2015.

As for Hendricks, she recently starred in the movie God’s Pocket, opposite the late Philip Seymour Hoffman. It’s directed by her Mad Men co-star John Slattery.

  • Neve Campbell Signs With Paradigm, Talks Motherhood

Neve Campbell has signed with Paradigm, a leading entertainment talent agency, which guides the careers of actors, musical artists, directors, writers and producers.

The Scream actress has had a successful career, especially in the horror genre.

Before the success of the Scream Franchise, Campbell had her first big break in the Fox drama Party of Five, followed by the 1996 teen horror classic, The Craft.

Next came the starring role in the Wes Craven Scream franchise, playing Sidney Prescott in Scream, Scream 2, Scream 3 and Scream 4.

Campbell, who gave birth to son Caspian in 2012, said her Party of Five gig prepared her well for motherhood.

“Our parents were dead [on the series],” she said. “Party of Five was good for family values. In that sense, it taught me a few things.”

According to Campbell, being a mother is one of the most beautiful accomplishments of her life.

“There’s so much that’s so beautiful,” she said. “Waking up to him every morning with that smile and innocence and creative energy is beautiful.”

She will soon star with Milo Ventimiglia and William H. Macy in Walter.

  • Christina Hendricks Pushes For Family-Friendly Work Policies, Campaigns To End ‘Mad Men’ Era

On Monday, Mad Men star Christina Hendricks spoke at the White House Summit on Working Families where she shared her views on current policies for women in the workplace.

According to reports, the United States is the only developed nation that does not require paid leave for new mothers. “Only three countries in the world report that they don’t offer paid maternity leave – three – and the United States is one of them,” Obama said.

Hendricks plays a single mom named Joan in the 1960’s drama Mad Men.

In her brief speech, she said “When President Obama discusses the issues facing working families, equal pay for women, affordable child care, to name a few, he often says that current policies seem to be from the Mad Men era.”

She also said that in this century, “the only place for a story like Joan’s should be on TV.”

Vice President Joe Biden opened the summit by discussing the importance of family time. “Not all of us have the kind of flexibility that I have,” he said.

On Sunday, Obama’s adviser Valerie Jarrett said that the President is attempting to start a national conversation in order to explore the issue. Jarrett, however, acknowledged that cost is an issue for any federal program, but said that the Obama administration wants to give middle-class families paid leave without raising taxes. “But we also know what a good investment in our workforce it would be if they had paid leave, and that investment will pay great returns,” she said.

Based on the 1993 Family Medical Leave Act, employers are only required to provide unpaid leave to employees who have family or medical emergencies.

Obama advised Congress to pass legislation that would require employers to facilitate pregnant employees while they work. He also called for federal agencies to make their work arrangements more flexible.

  • Linda Cardellini, New Scooby-Doo Film

Linda Cardellini has had a lot on her acting plate: from Sylvia, neighbor of Don Draper on AMC’s Mad Men, to her role on New Girl, the 38-year old American actress has been busy. However, she is hoping to get back into comic acting soon.

“Yeah, I would love to do some comedy again,” she said. “It’s been a while; it would be fun to do something comedic, but at the same time it depends on the role. I loved Bridesmaids. Kristen Wiig is amazing and hilarious, and I thought [directer] Paul [Feig] did an amazing job.”

Paul Feig previously directed Cardellini in the television series Freaks and Geeks back in 1999-2000 when she played Lindsay Weir.

Cardellini may soon get her wish to return to the comedy world with the announcement that Warner Bros. is in the early stages of making a new live action Scooby-Doo film. Although no cast has been announced, Cardellini could possibly get the chance to reprise her role as Velma Dinkley.

In the 2002 film, Scooby-Doo, and the unsuccessful 2004 sequel, Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed, Freddie Prince, Jr., Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Matthew Lillard joined Cardellini to reprise the classic roles from the Hannah-Barbera daytime cartoon that was premiered in 1969.

The story focuses on a Great Dane dog who can speak in broken English and who helps a team of teenagers solve mysteries and uncover criminals dressed as creatures and monsters in various conspiracies and supernatural events.

The character of Scooby-Doo, named after syllables from Frank Sinatra’s song, “Strangers in the Night,” was originally voiced by Don Messick and the recently deceased Casey Kasem was the voice of Norville “Shaggy” Rogers until 1997, then again from 2002 to 2006.

According to Deadline.com, Warner Bros. will be “starting from scratch” on this new adventure with director Randall Green and original producer of the 2002 and 2004 films, Charles Roven.

But if Scooby-Doo doesn’t work out for Cardellini, she has already been signed on to play Meg, the youngest of four siblings, in a new yet-to-be-named original Netflix thriller from Damages creators Todd A. Kessler, Daniel Zelman, and Glenn Kessler.

  • Amy Poehler: Jon Hamm Said “Get Your Sh*t Together”

If you’re pregnant and hysterical, don’t count on Jon Hamm to offer you a shoulder to cry on.

Amy Poehler, who was out promoting her new memoir called Yes Please, told a funny story relating to the Mad Men star while on a panel at BookCon in New York City on May 31. The SNL alum recalled a hilarious tale about how Jon Hamm told her to get her sh*t together during his first time hosting Saturday Night Live in 2008.

Poehler said that she was very pregnant with her first child. It was a Friday when she and Hamm were rehearsing a parody sketch of Mad Men. She called her doctor’s office to check in and was told by the receptionist that her doctor had passed away.

“I was due the next day,” Poehler said. “So it’s my first kid, I’m in a Mad Men outfit, I turn to everybody and I hysterically start crying, and a really pregnant woman crying is terrifying. So, juicy tears just like squirting out of my eyes. And it was like the punch line to a joke, it’s like, my doctor just died and I’m due tomorrow.”

“And Jon Hamm, who I am just getting to know, comes over and puts his hands on my shoulder and is like, ‘This is a really important show for me. I’m gonna need you to get your shit together.’ And I laughed so hard, I probably peed myself. I believe that going through crying to laughing adds like five years to your life.”

Yes Please is Poehler’s first memoir. The book will not be available until October 28, 2014. The memoir will obviously focus on Poehler’s life, including her divorce to actor Will Arnett and their two sons. However, the Parks and Recreation star is not about to dish out all the personal details of her private life, “I don’t really talk about it because I have a real respect for my ex-husband and the father of my children, and I also don’t like people knowing my shit.”

  • Alexis Bledel’s Fiancé Opens Up About Their Love

In a world where every hook-up, engagement and wedding is ‘news’, it’s rare to find a Hollywood couple that keeps their relationship on the down low. However, Mad Men‘s Vincent Kartheiser and his fiancé, Alexis Bledel, have been very hush-hush about their love.

Finally, we have some word from Vincent Kartheiser about his relationship with his fiancé.

According to Vulture, Kartheiser met the Gilmore Girls actress two years ago when she guest-starred as his character’s mistress on Mad Men. Currently he lives in Los Angeles but has been staying in Brooklyn with the 32-year old actress.

Kartheiser, 34, says they didn’t start dating until after season five wrapped.

“We were completely professional,” Kartheiser said. “We never saw each other out. We never—it was nothing, it was just work.”

Several of his costars including Jon Hamm, and Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner, spoke out on their behalf.

“I did know he liked her from a very early point,” Hamm said. “I was a supporter of that union.”

Weiner also commented on the couple, adding, “I told Vinnie that they would be great together. I was like, ‘Don’t blow it!’”

Weiner told the show’s writers that the two would get married.

“Honestly, they’re a really good match,” Weiner said. “They’re both very down to earth, with a sense of responsibility and strong family ties. And they’ve been acting since before they can remember, which makes for a very special personality. It’s not just that I thought they would look cute together.”

But, he said, with a laugh, “Even with all of Alexis‘s amazing qualities, I think that if she had not been such a good actress, he would not have been interested.”

The two were engaged in March 2013 after dating for several months.

  • Alexis Bledel: More Details Emerge On Her Relationship With Vincent Kartheiser

Alexis Bledel: More Details Emerge On Her Relationship With Vincent Kartheiser

Alexis Bledel and Vincent Kartheiser met on the set of Mad Men in 2012 and the rest is history. Well, the rest would be history if the two would ever talk about their relationship. They apparently don’t like to talk about it much. Fans of the power couple want to know more and that may have forced Kartheiser’s hand in a recent interview.

Speaking to Vulture, Kartheiser gave fans a little tease of what it was like when he was first started working with Bledel. The two were filming quite a few love scenes together, but the sparks weren’t flying at that point. In his own words, they kept it professional at first – “We were completely professional. We never saw each other out. We never—it was nothing, it was just work.”

Despite their professionalism, the cast and crew saw sparks where there were apparently none before. Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner says that he gave Kartheiser a little nudge in the right direction, but won’t take credit for the two hooking up:

“Honestly, they’re a really good match. They’re both very down to earth, with a sense of responsibility and strong family ties. And they’ve been acting since before they can remember, which makes for a very special personality. It’s not just that I thought they would look cute together.”

Despite the small tidbits coming from Kartheiser and the crew of Mad Men, Bledel herself has been very mum on her relationship with Kartheiser. She’s definitely not the kind of personality to sing from the hilltops about her relationship with her official Twitter account being all but abandoned. Her last tweet was made on July 4 last year and her Instagram account hasn’t been updated since January. Her Facebook fan page is also woefully outdated. You could make the argument that she’s just busy, but it might also be that she just doesn’t like the spotlight outside of her roles in television and film.

Even so, she can’t keep all the details of her relationship hidden. Back in March of last year, Us Weekly revealed that Bledel and Kartheiser had gotten engaged. The two haven’t announced a formal wedding date, however, and probably won’t to avoid the unwanted attention it would receive. After all, celebrities are people too.

Fans can catch Bledel and Kartheiser together in the final season of Mad Men currently airing on AMC. The second episode airs tonight at 10 p.m. EST.

  • Christina Hendricks: No Kids for ‘Mad Men’ Star and Hubby

Christina Hendricks says she and her husband Geoffrey Arend don’t want any children. Married since 2009 to the Body of Proof star, Hendricks covers the May issue of Health magazine and explains their feelings within its pages.

“We’ve decided that we are not really interested in having children,” the Mad Men star said in the interview with Health. “It seems like it’s expected that you’d want to have kids.”

“It’s just very normal for people to say, ‘Well, when you guys have kids…’ And then when I say, ‘Actually I don’t think we’re going to do that,’ people will say, ‘Oh, you say that now…’” Hendricks shares. “It doesn’t bother me, though. And, you know, there’s a small chance I could change my mind.”

Christina Hendricks says she’s busy at the moment playing ‘Mom’ to the couple’s new puppy.

“We got a puppy, and that’s my idea of starting a family,” Hendricks said during her interview. “People say, ‘Oh, that’s practice for parenting,’ but if it’s practice for anything it’s to be a mom to another puppy.”

Hendricks returned to TV this past Sunday when the final season of Mad Men premiered. She will soon appear on the big screen as well. She is set to star in How to Catch a Monster opposite Ryan Gosling and in A Book of Common Prayer with Allison Janney.

Christina Hendricks is also well known for her voluptuous curves that are sometimes called ‘traffic stopping.’ She explained to Conan O’Brien on Monday evening that one guy who was staring far more intently at her than at the road hit the curb and flew off his bicycle recently. There was no denying she is used to having guys stare.

Hendricks also talked with Conan about the rumor about her possibly joining the cast of Game of Thrones. She assured the host that there was no truth behind the rumor–but admits she may have inadvertently started it herself.

While there may not be any children in Christina Hendricks’ future, her life will certainly be a full one. Kudos to her and her husband for making a conscientious decision and for not making any excuses for not wanting to have kids. Not everyone is cut out for parenthood and some simply don’t want to change their lifestyles. For whichever reason they have chosen, good for them for realizing what they believe works best in their lives.

  • Neve Campbell To Play Animated Princess

Neve Campbell To Play Animated Princess

Neve Campbell will be bringing her voice talents to the animated film Bremen Town Musicians, a re-imagining of the Grimm’s fairy tale.

The actress hasn’t done a feature for the big screen since 2011’s Scream 4, but this time around she’ll be playing a very different character than what we’ve seen from her before; a princess trapped in a life she doesn’t want, engaged to be married to a duke who loves himself more than anyone else. The Russian folktale will be retold as a romantic comedy, and will also star Alan Cumming and Jeffrey Wright.

Campbell, who was a professional ballet dancer for several years before her acting career took off, recently spoke about being a new mom and her latest projects in an interview at an American Ballet Theatre event.

Campbell has made headlines this week after a surprise appearance on Sunday’s Mad Men premiere, in which she played a recent widow who happens to be seated next to the ever-charismatic Don Draper on a plane. The characters bond somewhat during the flight, and she ends up propositioning Don before they leave each other’s company…only to be turned down. It wasn’t her look that turned him off, however, that much we’re sure of; with her dark eyes and hair, she’s definitely his type.

“I had fun with wardrobe,” she said. “I was able to express what felt good and what felt right. [Showrunner] Matt [Weiner] is so detail-oriented that he chooses the hairstyles and makeup for every character. So when I got to the hair-and-makeup trailer, there was a picture of a woman in an old article from the ’60s, and that was the hairstyle that we were doing. That was really interesting, because normally you have some room for a voice in this. But at the same time, there’s a reason why the show has done so well, and a big part of that is obviously how specific and detail-oriented [Matt] is in what he does.”

Campbell has been sworn to secrecy by showrunner Matthew Weiner regarding what will happen during the show’s final season, so fans aren’t sure whether her role will be a recurring one. However, judging from the reaction she got on Twitter this week, it looks like she has plenty of supporters.

  • Neve Campbell Makes Memorable Appearance on Mad Men

When we think of the hit AMC drama Mad Men, we usually don’t think of the show as an opportunity for veteran television actors to reinvent themselves. However, Harry Hamlin of L.A. Law fame has been wickedly hilarious as his turn as an advertising executive at Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce. Also Linda Cardellini, Freaks and Geeks and ER, played Don’s mistress last season, and ultimately broke his heart and helped to shatter his daughter’s innocence.

On Sunday, we also saw Dan Byrd who plays Travis on Cougar Town, as a naive businessman with a new set of ideals that seem to work better on paper than they do in the real world. But perhaps the biggest, and most pleasant surprise, was seeing Neve Campbell as the sexy, alluring widow seated next to Don Draper on the airplane ride back to New York after an up and down visit with his ready-to-breakout actress wife Megan.

Campbell has more or less been out of the spotlight since her salad days of the 1990s when she starred in the weepy television drama Party of Five, ran her way out of trouble in the horror parody franchise Scream, and fought evil witches in the cult hit The Craft. Her appearance towards the end of the Season 7 premiere may have only been five minutes of screen time, but the impact was felt by fans of the show not only on a nostalgic level, but in a way that could ultimately have an impact on the fate of our anti-hero Don Draper.

The 40-year-old actress spoke about her character’s deep back story in an interview with The Daily Beast, “Considering what she’s experienced in the past year with losing her husband, and then living in the generation she does, finding herself living as a widow, there was a lot to play with as an actress. And the fact that her husband was an alcoholic and that she watched him spiral downward, I thought about that history and what that would do to me, and what kind of person that would make me.”

Don Draper is clearly a man who has hit rock bottom in his life: he was kicked out of his own company, his marriage is on the rocks, his daughter caught him cheating with his mistress, his alcoholism is out of control, and he can never really escape the horrid memories of his childhood. However, Don always appears to maintain his composure (unless he’s blackout drunk). Campbell’s character seemed to bring out Draper’s vulnerability, he opened up to her in a way that we haven’t really seen on the show.

Campbell agrees, “Don’s suddenly in a very vulnerable place in his life where everything has fallen apart, and since she’s so open and vulnerable in sharing her story, I think it gives him more room to share. Also, her story is something he can relate to, and hear, and he might realize that the effect my character’s husband had on her might echo the damage he’s causing his own family.”

Whether or not we will enjoy more of Campbell on the final season of Mad Men remains to be seen. Matt Weiner, the showrunner of the drama, is notoriously secretive and Campbell is not allowed to say if she will be back.

  • Christina Hendricks Won’t Be Joining “Game Of Thrones”

Christina Hendricks may be best known for her role as Joan Harris on the AMC hit Mad Men, but she has a pretty varied resume; the 38-year old also starred in the Joss Whedon vehicle Firefly and in the Ryan Gosling film Drive, as well as on various television shows. One show she won’t be joining, however, is Game Of Thrones, despite rumors to the contrary.

Hendricks told Conan last week that the rumor got started because she simply answered an interview question of “What show would be fun to do?” with “Game of Thrones”, mostly because of the period costumes because, as she admits, she’s never even seen the show.

“I thought it would be fun to get into that whole time period and the crazy costumes, and the next thing I know, everyone was like, “Christina wants to do Game of Thrones!” she said.

Hendricks made headlines this week with an interview she did for Health Magazine in which she says she and her husband don’t want to have children. The actress says people seem shocked when they ask about it and she admits she’s not interested.

“We’ve decided that we are not really interested in having children,” she said. “It seems like it’s expected that you’d want to have kids. It’s just very normal for people to say, ‘Well, when you guys have kids…’ And then when I say, ‘Actually I don’t think we’re going to do that,’ people will say, ‘Oh, you say that now…’. It doesn’t bother me, though. And, you know, there’s a small chance I could change my mind.”

Hendricks has several projects lined up, including How To Catch A Monster–which will reunite her with Ryan Gosling–and Disney’s The Pirate Fairy, to which she lends her voice talents.

  • Neve Campbell Talks About “Mad Men” Makeover

Neve Campbell surprised Mad Men fans on Sunday night with an appearance on Don Draper’s plane, and the surprise was a good one.

The Scream star played a sexy passenger on the flight who happens to be seated next to our favorite womanizer, and the role was one we haven’t seen her play before: bold, flirtatious, and seductive. For Campbell, who got her start on the Fox hit Party of Five in the ’90s before moving on to Wes Craven’s horror trilogy and a little film that involved full frontal Kevin Bacon, the chance to play a worldly woman in the late ’60s was made all the easier by the wardrobe.

But at the same time, there’s a reason why the show has done so well, and a big part of that is obviously how specific and detail-oriented [Matt] is in what he does

The final season of the show–which premiered on Sunday–is of course kept tightly under wraps, so Campbell can’t speak about whether she’ll be seen again on the show, but judging from the reaction on Twitter, fans are hoping she’ll be a regular.

“When you’re given a threat by Matt Weiner, it’s not that tough to keep a secret,” she said. “They’re very good at keeping things top secret on the show. When I first got to set and was in the hair-and-makeup trailer, someone said, “Oh, Matt Weiner’s coming down to talk to you,” and the hair-and-makeup people said, “Oh, he’s coming to give you the super-secrecy speech.” I said, “What’s that?” They’re like, “You’ll see.” And he did. He came down and gave me a big speech about the importance of keeping things hush on the show, and keeping things entertaining and fresh for the audience, which I completely respect, and how much they need people to not say a word. And then I had to sign a waiver as well. That’s how it goes.”

  • True Blood Prepares To Air Final Season This June, Debuts Trailer

True Blood Prepares To Air Final Season This June, Debuts Trailer

Several shows have been coming to an end in the past year, and True Blood is another show that will be added to the list. In order to get fans excited for the show’s final season, HBO has released its first promo.

Mad Men is also set to end this year, with its seventh season premiering in a couple weeks. After nine years on the year, How I Met Your Mother also came to an end this week, and its finale was received with mixed reactions by its many fans.

True Blood premiered the same season as AMC’s Mad Men, and will be ending with its seventh, and final season, with the beginning of the end set to premiere on June 22, 2014. HBO’s final season of True Blood will contain 10 episodes.

The series is a vampire drama, but has a much more widespread audience than shows such as The Vampire Diaries. The plot involves a telepathic waitress named Sookie Stackhouse who encounters a strange new supernatural world when she meets the mysterious Bill, a southern Louisiana gentleman and vampire.

In addition to the final season of True Blood premiering on June 22, the network announced that will be airing the series premiere of The Leftovers on June 15th, a show that is based on a book by Tom Perrotta. The show is being developed by Damon Lindelof, who many will remember as one of the producers of Lost, and features an ensemble cast that includes Justin Theroux and Liv Tyler.

The first promotional video that has been released for the series opens with a trip through the Bon Temps graveyard, showing numerous headstones, and reminding fans of all of the different people that have died throughout the show.

The sequence ends on a headstone that reads “True Blood, 2008-2014,” in a moment that could trigger some emotion from fans. The series stars Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer, and features an ensemble cast that has helped Alexander Skarsgård become a star in recent years.

Speaking on the final season of the show, Stephen Moyer said last year that “I’m really excited, really sad. It’s just a group of people that I absolutely love and it’s certainly the happiest and warmest set I’ve ever been on, so that’s going to be hard to walk away from.”

Tune into HBO on June 22 at 9 p.m. ET for the first of the final 10 episodes of HBO’s True Blood. Are fans excited for the show to return, or is everyone simply sad that it is almost over?

  • January Jones Plays Prank on Ex-Boyfriend

January Jones Plays Prank on Ex-Boyfriend

During her segment on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon Friday, actress January Jones recounted how she’d pulled a fast one on her high school ex- boyfriend, Sioux Falls, South Dakota Realtor Tony Erickson.

The preemptive April Fool’s prank began on Thursday, when Erickson noticed a few missed calls from a Los Angeles area code at his Hegg ReaItors office. When he’d finally picked up, it was Jones, 36, at the other end, a fellow Roosevelt High School alum. Erickson commented, “This is the last person I thought would be calling me. I hadn’t talked to her in 20 years.”

Jones told him she was flying into Sioux Falls on Friday with the intention of buying some property, and wanted Erickson to meet her at Sioux Falls Regional Airport with some options put together. Erickson compiled some $1 million to $2 million property listings and went to the airport.

“I really didn’t know what to think. It kind of took me off guard,” Erickson said. “So I asked her more what she was looking for. She played along with it well. Obviously, she’s a fantastic actress.”

When Erickson arrived at the airport, he was met by five fellow employees, one of which had paper over her face with an image of Jones on it. Erickson then realized he’d been tricked, and Jones texted him to tell him to tune into her Fallon appearance on Friday. Jones sure enough began describing the prank, adding that “He (Erickson) broke my heart 20 years ago. He deserved it.”

Erickson’s wife Christine, who was in on the prank, said “Nobody deserves it more than he does. He’s sent people from his office on wild goose chases.” Tony Erickson added, “It was pretty funny. She did a great job. But as soon as Jimmy Fallon said my name the first time, I thought that was it. And right away I’m getting texts and Facebook messages, and it’s still pretty crazy.”

January Jones is best known for playing Betty Draper on AMC’s critically acclaimed hit series Mad Men, which will commence its final season on April 13th.

  • January Jones Did A Racy Bathtub Photo Shoot

Just ahead of the season premiere of “Mad Men”, January Jones has done a racy, stunning bathtub photo shoot for The Violet Files, showing off her slender frame in violet bathwater and posing in fur on a couch.

The 36-year old blonde beauty said in the interview that she likes to be mysterious rather than have her personal business all over the media, and the alluring photos add to that persona.

“I prefer to remain mysterious and have people make their own judgment calls about me than to always have to explain who I am and what I’m about,” she said.

The actress posted a few of the shots on her Instagram page.

Not one who’s afraid to show some skin, Jones showed up for her interview with Jimmy Fallon on Friday wearing a black jumpsuit with lace cutouts that prevented her from wearing underwear. She kept it classy, however, and didn’t give the audience any accidental peeks.

“Mad Men” is scheduled to return on April 13.

  • Elisabeth Moss Says Marriage To Fred Armisen Was Bad

Sometimes when celebrity couples breakup, no one really knows why, because a lot of famous people do a stellar job of keeping the bitter details of their separation out of the press.

But that’s not the case with Elisabeth Moss and her ex-husband Fred Armisen, as Moss recently sat down with New York magazine to reveal why their marriage didn’t work–and she didn’t pull any punches.

“Looking back, I feel like I was really young, and at the time I didn’t think that I was that young, said Moss. “It was extremely traumatic and awful and horrible. At the same time, it turned out for the best. I’m glad that I’m not there.”

In addition, the Mad Men actress said she’s glad the divorce happened early on in her life and not later, and she’s happy her and Armisen didn’t have any kids.

“I’m glad that it didn’t happen when I was 50,” she said. “I’m glad I didn’t have any kids, and I got that out of the way, hopefully. Like, that’s probably not going to happen again.”

When Armisen–who made a name for himself through Saturday Night Live— split from his wife in 2011, the breakup was extremely public, which was the absolute worst part, said Moss.

And she was always skeptical about relationship stories in the press, she said, but since her divorce she has no faith in them at all and hated the fact the media told so many lies about her. Plus, it really bothered her that so many reports got the details of her divorce all wrong.

“I always knew that the stuff that you read is not true,” stated Moss. “But when I was in the situation and you really, actually read things that you apparently said or did that are 100 percent made up….It’s just strange, simple thing of, that’s your heart they’re talking about, and it just, it sucks.”

The couple, especially Riggio, took to twitter following the ceremony to share their excitement via both posts and pictures.

Riggio is mostly an on-air television and radio personality, but has a few acting credits to her name as well. She just completed Crossroads, and is currently filming Into The Equinox.

Allegra Riggio described the beginning of their relationship, and how they met to US Weekly in an issue last month when saying “Jared and I met at Bar Lubitsch in April 2009. At the time, neither of us could have predicted this day would come. He was suffering through the final throes of a particularly nasty divorce, and I was at my lowest, most miserable moment. I had moved to L.A. for love, and it was not going as planned.”

  • Actor Jon Hamm to Undergo Throat Surgery

Actor Jon Hamm, just snubbed at the 2013 Emmy Awards for lead actor in AMC’s “Mad Men,” is set to undergo throat surgery to remove a polyp on his vocal cords. A representative for the actor stated that it’s a “routine outpatient procedure to remove a single polyp from his throat.”

A vocal cord polyp, or nodule, is a mass of tissue which reduces or obstructs the ability of the vocal folds to create the rapid changes in air pressure that generate human speech. Symptoms include hoarseness, pain when speaking, frequent vocal breaks and reduced vocal range. Vocal cord polyps develop mostly in adult females and children. Those who work in constantly loud environments are most susceptible. It’s not uncommon for singers and actors to have throat surgeries to remove these growths – entertainers including Adele, Mariah Carey and John Mayer have all had similar procedures in the past. Hamm began coughing up blood, prompting him to go for surgery in Boston.

Jon Hamm is best known for his portrayal of chain-smoking adman “Don Draper.” Although the role requires him to smoke, Hamm gave up smoking actual tobacco when he was 24 – on set he smokes herbal cigarettes that don’t contain any tobacco or nicotine.

Hamm’s “Mad Men” performance earned him a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Drama Series in 2008. Hamm has also received eight Emmy nominations for his performance in “Mad Men” and “30 Rock”. The actor has appeared in the movies “The Day the Earth Stood Still” (2008), “Stolen” and “The Town” (2010), and “Sucker Punch” and “Bridesmaids” (2011).
