Alexis Bledel: Rory Gilmore’s Ex Logan Huntzberger to Return to “Gilmore Girls” Revival

Alexis Bledel and Lauren Graham haven’t pretended for one minute that they’re not over the moon excited about the revival of Gilmore Girls for its four-episode run on Netflix. Now Alexis Bledel is even more excited. She just recently learned that The Good Wife actor Matt Czuchry has signed on for the return, too. That means Rory Gilmore’s ex-boyfriend Logan Huntzberger is headed back to Stars Hollow.

Matt Czuchry’s character dated Alexis Bledel’s character after she returned to Stars Hollow from Yale. His return to the show will no doubt add some significant drama, because Logan proposed to Rory in the Gilmore Girls season finale, and she turned him down.

Creator Amy Sherman-Palladino indicated last week that Matt Czuchry might not be the only one of Alexis Bledel’s character’s exes to appear in the revival.

“Our plan is to get as many of [Rory’s] lovely men back as possible. We’re still dealing with who’s going to be in it,” she said. “We definitely want to see them. And we have storylines planned. I just need someone to tell me they’re going to show up.”

In addition to Alexis Bledel and Lauren Graham, the Gilmore Girls revival will also include Scott Patterson as Lorelai’s partner Luke, Keiko Agena as Rory’s best mate Lane Kim, Kelly Bishop as Emily Gilmore, and Sean Gunn as Kirk Gleason. Fans are hoping Melissa McCarthy will return to her role as Sookie St. James, but a recent tweet she shared indicates she has yet to be asked.

Were you a fan of Alexis Bledel and Matt Czuchry playing opposite one another on Gilmore Girls? Are you excited he’s returning along with so many of the original gang?

“Gilmore Girls” Returning: Netflix to Air Four New 90-Minute Episodes, Featuring Lauren Graham as Lorelai and Alexis Bledel as Rory

Gilmore Girls fans, rejoice. Lorelai and Rory are headed back to the small screen, thanks to Netflix. Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, and even more of the original Gilmore Girls cast will star in four 90-minute episodes to air on Netflix.

Wrapping in 2007, Gilmore Girls fans have never fully recovered from the loss of their weekly dose of the fast-talking mother-daughter pair whose antics and strife kept viewers completely enamored.

Originally on the WB before it moved to the CW for its final season, Gilmore Girls producer and series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino left before the show ended. She once admitted that the show didn’t wrap the way she had envisioned it. Instead she famously planned the show’s ending with four unrevealed words, but never had the chance to conclude Gilmore Girls on her own terms.

Some might fear this short, four-series reboot might ruin the legacy of Gilmore Girls. Those fans are told not to be concerned. Amy Sherman-Palladino promises there is no need to worry.

It is believed that production on the Netflix reboot of Gilmore Girls is set to start some time early in 2016. There’s been no word thus far on when the series will air.

One rumor surrounding the reboot that will no doubt be disappointing to diehard fans is that Melissa McCarthy, who played Sookie St. James on Gilmore Girls, isn’t likely to return.

Were you a Gilmore Girls fan? Are you excited beyond belief to see Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel reprise their roles as Lorelai and Rory Gilmore for this upcoming Netflix reboot?

  • Lauren Graham, ‘Gilmore Girls’ Cast Mates Remember Edward Hermann

Lauren Graham was among members of the Gilmore Girls cast who fondly remembered actor Edward Hermann following his passing on December 31st from brain cancer. Hermann played the role of Richard Gilmore on the long-running TV show.

Lauren Graham–who presently stars in the TV drama Parenthood–played the role of Lorelai Gilmore, Edward Hermann’s on-screen daughter.

“My friend Ed Herrmann was the kindest, classiest, most talented man. It was an honor and a joy to know him, a devastating blow to lose him,” she said.

Kelly Bishop played Richard’s wife Emily Gilmore for all seven seasons of the small-town drama. She released a statement to the media about the loss of her on-screen husband.

“We, the Gilmore Girls family, are so terribly sad and somewhat stunned,” Bishop said in the statement. “We only learned about his illness a week or so ago. I got a call from [Edward’s wife] Star Monday night asking if I wanted to come to the hospital to say good-bye. I went yesterday and was able to give Ed love from Lauren [Graham], Alexis [Bledel] and Amy [Sherman-Palladino]… I have so many fond memories of our time together on Gilmore Girls and since, mainly via email. I think everyone who knew or worked with Ed found him to be absolutely delightful… Everything looks a little dim, as if the lights went down.”

Keiko Agena, who played Rory Gilmore’s (Lauren Graham’s on-screen daughter, played by Alexis Bledel) best friend Lane Kim, tweeted her condolences when learning of Edward Hermann’s death.

Herrmann is survived by is wife of 22 years Star Hayner, two daughters Ryan and Emma, and stepson Rory. He is also survived by his cast mates from the Gilmore Girls–Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Kelly Bishop, and more.
