  • Castlevania: Lords Of Shadow 2 Dev Diary Discusses Dracula’s Origins

Gamers increasingly want to know what’s going on behind the scenes of their favorite games. While the development diary may have once been on an extra disc for a special edition, publishers are now releasing them before the game comes out to drum up excitement. Now Konami is jumping on the dev diary bandwagon for its latest Castlevania title.

Konami and MercurySteam released the first dev diary for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 today. This particular dev diary focuses on what the team wants to do with the character of Dracula in this game. Since players will be playing as Dracula this time around, the team wanted to make players empathize with him while still holding him at arm’s length.

If you want to check out Lords of Shadow 2 for yourself, the demo is currently available as a bonus for purchasing Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate HD on PSN or XBLA. If you’re a fan of the franchise, you’ll want to check out Mirror of Fate anyway as it details the events between the first Lords of Shadow and its upcoming sequel.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 launches February 25 for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.

  • Castlevania: Lords Of Shadow 2 Gets A Halloween Trailer

The wonderful thing about gaming is that there are plenty of appropriate games to play during each major holiday. For Independence Day, we have 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand. For Christmas, we have Home Alone for the SNES. For Halloween, take your pick of any Castlevania title. If you don’t have a Castlevania title for today, maybe a trailer for the latest game will tide you over.

The new Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 trailer – simply titled “Dracula’s Vengeance” – gives us more details regarding the story players can expect from the next and final chapter in the Lords of Shadow trilogy. As expected, it’s pretty epic and sets the mood for what is shaping up to be the gothic epic of 2014.

You can try out Lords of Shadow 2 for yourself as the demo is included in the HD remake of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate on the PSN and XBLA.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 will be released on February 25, 2014 for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

  • Castlevania ‘Mirror of Fate’ HD Confirmed For PS3 & 360

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate received mixed, but generally good reviews when it was released for Nintendo 3DS back in March. The game combined some elements of classic Castlevania 2D side-scrollers and the combo-heavy hack-n-slash gameplay of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow. Now, Konami is bringing the mobile game to living room consoles with an HD remake.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate HD will make its way onto the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 as a downloadable title. It will be released on Halloween, October 31. The game features upgraded HD visuals and new features such as leaderboards and a new “Boss Rush” gameplay mode.

Mirror of Fate HD’s release will come just months before the anticipated release of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2. A demo for Lords of Shadow 2 is included with copies of Mirror of Fate.

The story of Mirror of Fate serves as a preamble to the events in Lords of Shadow 2. Players take on the role of several characters, including members of the famed Belmont clan. Each character comes with different powers and move sets that will be required to battle the forces of Dracula.

Konami also announced that the Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Collection will be released this Halloween as well. The bundle comes with Mirror of Fate HD and the original Lords of Shadow. The Reverie and Resurrection DLC contend for Lords of Shadow will also be included in the collection.

  • Castlevania: Lords Of Shadow 2 Looks Ridiculous

During Konami’s pre-E3 show, the publisher gave gamers a more in-depth look at the latest Castlevania title – Lords of Shadow 2.

The developers at Mercury Steam say that Lords of Shadow 2 picks up right where the first game ended. In other words, players will take on the role of Dracula as he attempts to find a cure for his immortality.

Clocking in at six minutes, the E3 2013 trailer doesn’t really reveal all that much about the title. All I can gather from it is that Dracula is sad/angry and that he kills a lot of things. Oh, and his castle turns into a mech, because why not?

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 will launch this winter for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. For PC gamers, Konami will be releasing a PC port of the first title this summer so you can catch up on the admittedly silly story.

In other Konami news, the developer announced today that Kiefer Sutherland will be the new voice of Snake in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.
