LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Brings Brick Building Action To Retailers Today

Earlier this year, Warner Bros. and Traveler’s Tales announced that it was finally bringing Marvel to the LEGO universe with LEGO Marvel Super Heroes. Since then, a number of previews and trailers have confirmed that it will be the most complete Marvel game to date with over 100 heroes to choose from. Now you, the player, can finally take all these classic heroes out for a spin.

Warner Bros. Games announced that LEGO Marvel Super Heroes is now available at North American retailers for the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U, 3DS, PS Vita and PC. The game will also be coming to the PS4 and Xbox One on November 15 and 22 respectively.

“We are excited to finally bring LEGO gamers and Marvel fans the action-packed game they have all been waiting for with LEGO Marvel Super Heroes,” said Tom Stone, Managing Director, TT Games Publishing. “LEGO Marvel delivers an original story told in classic LEGO humor and with more than 100 playable characters, the game also includes an impressive roster featuring some of the most iconic fan favorites, such as the Hulk and Spider-Man, spanning the entire Marvel Universe, including Stan Lee!”

Marvel fans will be happy to know that LEGO Marvel Super Heroes not only features all their favorite heroes, but the most iconic locations from the Marvel universe as well. Some of the areas players will explore include Stark Tower, the Daily Bugle, the Baxter Building, the X-Mansion, Asgard, Doctor Doom’s Castle and more.

As for the story, players can expect something along the lines of what they saw in The Avengers but amplified to include the entire Marvel universe. Also, Loki appears to only be a bit player this time around as Galactus returns as the central antagonist.

“The collaboration with LEGO and TT Games, an uninhibited creative process, has resulted into an outstanding execution that will delight children and adults alike,” said Andreea Enache-Thune, Senior Vice President, Games & Digital Distribution, Marvel Entertainment. “LEGO Marvel Super Heroes reaffirms our commitment to quality. With every game build and every trailer that brought us closer to the finish line, our enthusiasm has grown exponentially and to say that we are excited to see this game come to life is an understatement.”

So, how much is this game going to cost? Well, that’s the funny part as LEGO Marvel Super Heroes may have the strangest pricing of any game I’ve ever seen. LEGO Marvel Super Heroes will cost $50 on Xbox 360 and PS3, $40 on Wii U, 3DS and PS Vita, $30 on PC and $60 on PS4 and Xbox One. Given that LEGO games generally cost $50 on current gen platforms, it’s kind of surprising to see them raise the price to $60 on next-gen platforms. With the extra month of development time, there may be more content in those versions, but I doubt it.

  • LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Trailer Teases Baddies

Gamescom is in full swing and gamers are awash with new video game details. Warner Bros. and TT Games have now released the latest trailer for LEGO Marvel Super Heroes.

As seen previously, players will take on the role of Avengers members, X-men, the Fantastic Four, Stan Lee, and practically any Marvel hero in the publisher’s history. Today’s new look at the game highlights the many Marvel villains that will be scheming to create Dr. Doom’s Doomray of Doom out of “Cosmic Bricks.”

Dr. Doom, Doc Ock, Magneto, Silver Surfer, Loki, and other villains are all included in the game. Galactus himself is shown at the end of the video, a callback to the first LEGO Marvel Super Heroes teaser.

  • Lego Marvel Super Heroes Previewed at Comic-Con, Features Playable Stan Lee

Though Lego’s most recent Lego video game announcement involves a game version of the upcoming The Lego Movie, the next Lego game fans are really waiting for is Lego Marvel Super Heroes.

The last look Marvel and Lego fans got at the game was back in June, when a trailer showed off most of the current Avengers movie lineup in the game. This past week, fans at San Diego Comic-Con got another look at the title.

Comics legend Stan Lee, fresh off his meeting with the Comic-Con Mech, was a part of the panel. He revealed the latest trailer for Marvel Super Heroes, which features some of the larger characters in the Marvel universe, including Hulk, Thing, Juggernaut, Blob, and Colossus.

Lee also revealed that he himself will be a playable character in the game. Lee was also a playable character in last year’s video game version of The Amazing Spider-Man, complete with web-slinging superpowers.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Trailer Features Loki And The Avengers

Since it was announced earlier this year, fans have been eagerly awaiting new details on LEGO Marvel Super Heroes. Who’s the villain? Who can we play as? The latest trailer answers these questions and more.

It was revealed this morning that Loki will be one of the central villains in LEGO Marvel Super Heroes. It looks like The Avengers and other Marvel teams will be assembling to take on the threat posed by Thor’s brother.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes will be out later this year for Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U, Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo DS, PS Vita and PC.

  • LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Teaser Trailer Released, Villain Teased

With the wild success of the LEGO Batman and LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes video games, it was only a matter of time before Marvel weighed in with its own LEGO video game. Back in January Marvel announced its competing game, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, and provided a glimpse of what players can expect.

Today, Marvel and LEGO released the first teaser trailer for Marvel Super Heroes. It shows fan-favorite Marvel heroes such as Spider-Man, Thor, Wolverine, the Hulk, Black Widow, Captain America, Deadpool and Iron Man. In addition to the Avengers lineup, the game’s creators have announced that the title will feature over 100 different playable characters from Marvel comics. The trailer also teases Galactus as the main villain of the title, meaning Marvel is placing the stakes pretty high for its LEGO-ized super heroes.

  • Get Your First Look At LEGO Marvel Super Heroes

Traveller’s Tales’ LEGO games are some of the most fun I’ve had in a long time. The titles capture a pure essence of fun that many games have abandoned as they relentlessly march towards boring realism. The latest LEGO game from the studio – LEGO Marvel Super Heroes – gets its first game trailer today… kind of.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes is the cover story on this month’s Game Informer, and as such, the game will be receiving plenty of coverage over the course of the month. This may be the first LEGO game to be on the cover, and for good reason, there’s a lot of hope riding on this one. Marvel is huge today thanks to The Avengers film and a LEGO game based on the Marvel universe must be just as epic. Is Traveller’s Tales up to the task? The latest trailer can answer that question:

I’m a huge fan of LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes, and LEGO Marvel Super Heroes seems to be capturing that same kind of magic. I’ve never been a huge Marvel fan, but I can’t not play this one. It’s just so charming to see The Avengers in LEGO minifig form, including Hulk.

Now the only question that remains is whether or not a game intended for children can capture the essence of Deadpool. If not, we at least still have High Moon’s gory and hilarious Deadpool game coming out later this year.

  • LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Game Announced

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Game Announced

LEGO Batman 2 marked a turning point for the LEGO video games. It featured open-world gameplay and fully-voiced super hero characters. Now, it appears DC super heroes won’t be the only ones to get the LEGO treatment.

Warner Bros., Marvel, TT Games and LEGO today announced that LEGO Marvel Super Heroes will be coming out this fall for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U, Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation Vita, and PC. It will be the first time Marvel super heroes have been depicted in LEGO video games.

“We’re very excited to bring a myriad of classic Marvel characters to life in LEGO form for some fun, family-friendly gameplay in LEGO Marvel Super Heroes,” said Tom Stone, managing director, of TT Games. “Players will brave the ultimate mission to save the world as they explore famous landmarks in LEGO New York and take the adventure beyond Earth to iconic locations in the Marvel Universe.”

Not much about the story has been revealed, but Marvel did tease that the “original storyline” will feature Nick Fury as he “calls upon Iron Man, the Hulk, Thor, Spider-Man, Wolverine and other heroes spanning the Marvel Universe to save Earth from such threats as the vengeance of Loki and the hunger of Galactus, Devourer of the Worlds.”

“Fans of both LEGO and Marvel have wanted this game for years, and we’re addressing that demand with more Marvel Universe characters than ever in a console game,” said TQ Jefferson, vice president of Games Production at Marvel. “If you’re a fan of Spider-Man, the Avengers, Fantastic Four, X-Men, Guardians of the Galaxy or scores of other Marvel characters, this is the game for you.”

Over 100 different characters from Marvel comics will be playable in the game, including Deadpool.
