  • Demi Lovato Performs “Stone Cold” on “SNL” Amidst Tracy Morgan’s Return, Larry David’s Bernie Sanders

Demi Lovato wowed fans in the SNL audience this weekend with her performance of “Stone Cold.” Just one of seven songs the “Cool for the Summer” singer co-wrote for her new album, “Confident,” Demi Lovato was a hot topic come Sunday morning for her Saturday Night Live appearance.

“The reaction has been incredible,” Lovato said in an interview with Vanity Fair on Sunday. “I’m just honored I was able to convey the emotion of the song.”

Demi Lovato appears in the November issue of Vanity Fair both nude and sans any makeup. She is a big promoter of a healthy body image, and serves as a great example to women of all ages.

This weekend’s episode of SNL was a very special one. In addition to Demi Lovato’s performances, Tracy Morgan served as the night’s host. Appearing on the show for the first time since his limo was involved in a fatal accident en route from Delaware to New York 16 months ago, the comic thrilled not only those in the audience, but everyone on stage as well.

If you missed the show this weekend, you not only missed Tracy Morgan and Demi Lovato, but also missed a hilarious Bernie Sanders impression done by Larry David.

Did you catch this weekend’s episode of Saturday Night Live? What was your favorite part of the show? Was it Demi Lovato’s performances? How about Tracy Morgan’s triumphant return? Even Bernie Sanders found Larry David’s impersonation hilarious.

  • Larry David Acted Crazy To Get Out of Vietnam

Larry David, the man who made neurosis and seemingly unremarkable problems into a career, recently spoke with Howard Stern about how he managed to get out of going to Vietnam in the 1960s.

Part of Larry David’s plan initially involved joining the Reserves.

“I wasn’t gonna [go to Vietnam] under any circumstances. I signed up for the Reserves, some of my friends were signing up, so I thought, ‘I’ll sign up, too.’ At that time, they weren’t really using a lot of reservists in Vietnam.”

Larry David insists that being in the Reserves, although it was not hte jungles of Vietnam, was still tough for a kid like him.

“The Reserves — that was no day at the beach either. First of all, I had to go to Basic Training — I was in Petroleum Storage, by the way — they had classes in Petroleum Storage. It was intense, it was like 100º temperature.”

“I cried the first night there. I was in the Army, it was dangerous. They would wake you up at 4:45 A.M. and come into the room and scream. And you’re trying to sleep. There’s a weapon, there’s a rifle you have to fire. I had never even fired a BB gun. I was the lowest grade, a Marksman.”

Even though he was not in active duty, being in the Reserves cramped Larry David’s style, including his hairstyle.

“You also have to go to meetings once a month. At that point, we all had the Jew-fro. I would have to wear a wig to go to the meeting. The whole unit did. I would go into Brooklyn and stay with my parents. I wold spend all Saturday and Sunday at Floyd Bennett field in a freezing airplane hangar.”

Eventually, Larry David says, he found a way to get out of the military altogether. He used a ruse that would’ve made for a lively Seinfeld episode.

“Then I heard about this psychiatrist who was writing people letters to get people out of the Reserves. I had been there for two years, and in the summer you had to go to Summer Camp for two weeks, sleep in a tent, the whole thing. It wasn’t me.”

“I got the name of the psychiatrist who was supposedly writing these letters, and I went to see the psychiatrist. I borrowed $350. I went to see the psychiatrist, and the psychiatrist is talking to me, and I’m trying to act a little crazy. It seems like he was looking for me to be a little crazy, so I said, “Okay, I’ll be a little crazy.” I have other problems, and I told him that. Then he wrote me this letter, and I read that letter, and according to the letter I’m stark raving mad and I can’t be in the military.”

But getting that letter in his hands was the easy part. Getting it to his superiors in the Reserves was where his real acting came in.

“Now I had to take this letter the next weekend the next weekend that we met. I had to hand it to my commanding officer. Now mind you, I know all these people. I have to act the letter now. This is only a minth later. I was fine a month ago.”

“I have to walk into the hangar. I sort of isolated myself from everybody. My eyes are darting around. People are saying Hello to me. AndI see people nudging each other and pointing at me going, ‘What’s going on with him?’”

“I went up to one of the sergeants and said, ‘I gotta talk to the Major.” I take the letter, hand it to the Major, and I sit down across the desk. He starts talking to me. I am knee-deep in this performance. I am living this part. And I go, ‘Uh … sometimes … I just have these thoughts …’ — just crazy stuff. After five minutes, this guy goes, ‘Can you drive home?’ I said, ‘Yeah, yeah .. I can drive … I’m a good driver.” It was like Rainman.”

    “So I got out.”

  • Jennifer Lawrence, 24, Has Crush On 67-Year-Old Larry David

In her recent interview with Vanity Fair, Jennifer Lawrence admitted that she had a crush on Curb Your Enthusiasm actor Larry David. Lawrence, 24, made comments about her love for David, 67, in the magazine interview, which were then read to David at the recent New Yorker Festival.

“I’m in love with him, and I have been for a really long time,” Lawrence was quoted as saying by New Yorker Editor David Remnick during his interview with David at the 15th annual New Yorker Festival on Saturday, October 11.

“Smart kid. It’s a shame that I’m about 40 years older than she is,” responded David, evidently flattered by the declaration of love from Lawrence.

Remnick then read the rest of Lawrence’s comments about the co-creator of Seinfeld, which said, “I worship Woody Allen, but I don’t feel it below the belt the way I do for Larry David.”

David seemingly joked about what Lawrence said. “Maybe she’s referring to her knees. I don’t think I could do it. On one hand it’s very flattering and on another hand, it’s kind of a shame—in terms of timing. I’d have fun watching the reality show of it though,” he said.

Apparently a big fan of older comedians, Lawrence’s interview in the November issue of Vanity Fair was not entirely a laughing matter as it allowed her to seriously address the controversy surrounding her stolen nude photos that were leaked online by hackers. “I was just so afraid. I didn’t know how this would affect my career,” Lawrence told contributing editor Sam Kashner about her feelings when the news first broke.

Lawrence met with Kashner for the interview a few weeks before the first batch of her nude photos were leaked online, but the editor reportedly reached out to her again after that in order to give her “a chance to have the last word” about the controversy.

  • ‘Seinfeld’ Reunion: Will They Do A Super Bowl Commercial?

Fans of the TV show ‘Seinfeld’ could be in for a treat. On Jan. 6, comedian Jerry Seinfeld revealed that he was doing a “big, huge, gigantic” project that he co-wrote with Larry David. About a week later he was spotted at Tom’s Diner in Manhattan with former cast member Jason Alexander. Tom’s Diner was the Seinfeld crew’s meeting place on the show.  So, is this a sign of a reunion?

    (image)

In a Thursday interview with Boomer & Carton on WFAN radio, Jerry Seinfeld hinted at a reunion of the cast of  ‘Seinfeld’. He said that he and his old crew had gotten together to film a one-off scene of some kind, a short film a bit longer than 60 seconds in duration. Seinfeld also said that the mystery project was scheduled to air “very soon”. In the interview, Seinfeld was asked if the film was a  promotion for Sunday’s game or for his popular web series “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.” The comedian gave a typical “Seinfeld answer” — “It’s not. But “It’s not-not” either of those things, he responded.

“I gave you more now than I’ve given anyone,” said Seinfeld. “I told you what it isn’t. And then I also told you that it isn’t not that, either.”

Sounds like a Super Bowl commercial. Could it be?

On Friday, Seinfeld’s publicist Tom Kearney was also being mysterious about the project. Kearney quickly dismissed the idea that the short film was a commercial but did confirm that the public would know soon.

This reunion is not the first for the cast since the show ended its run in 1998. Seinfeld, Jason Alexander, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Michael Richards last appeared together in one episode of Larry David’s ‘Curb your Enthusiasm’ in 2009.

Ok, so we don’t really know what they’re up to but whatever it is will likely be entertaining and funny.

Yada yada yada, still sounds like a Super Bowl commercial.

  • Seinfeld Reunion Will Happen Soon, Very Soon

Jerry Seinfeld, Jason Alexander and Larry David walk into a diner, not just any diner, but the now landmark NYC Tom’s Diner which served as the framework for Monk’s on the Seinfeld show. A picture is taken of Seinfeld and Alexander walking towards Tom’s and is tweeted for the whole world to see. That, along with Seinfeld discussing a “secret project” during a Reddit AMA and an interview on the WFAN sports radio show Boomer & Carton are steering hopeful fans in the direction that they will get to see George, Jerry, Elaine and Kramer back in action.

Boomer and Carton pressed the comedian on what he was doing with Alexander and David. Were the old friends simply getting coffee like Jerry and George did on the show every week? Was it part of Seinfeld’s web show Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee? Were they planning some other future project? Although the radio hosts did not get all the juicy details, Seinfeld coyly confirmed that there was some sort of Seinfeld reunion in the works.

Seinfeld told Boomer and Carton, “It’s a secret project. I gave you more now than I’ve given anyone. I told you what it isn’t, and then I also told you that it isn’t not that either.” What? Okay, here’s what we do know. Seinfeld described the secret project as a “one and done” experience, that we will get to see it very soon, it’s not a commercial for the Super Bowl and it may even have already been filmed. So fans everywhere can certainly get excited but expectations should be kept in check as the project could be any number of things.

#seinfeldreunion quickly became a popular trend on Twitter:

  • “Seinfeld” Reunion: The Cast Is Back Together For A New Project

After having a popular sitcom for many years that is still a beloved treasure to many people, the cast will be getting back together and having a Seinfeld reunion.

The cast members of Seinfeld have all gone their separate ways since the end of the show in 1998, but as a group of people that worked together for nine seasons, they have continued to remain close friends.

It still has not been revealed what the new project will be about, but rumors started swirling around after Jerry Seinfeld and Jason Alexander were seen outside of Tom’s Restaurant, along with Larry David.

The restaurant was used on the the Seinfeld set for Monk’s Cafe, which was a frequented location for Jerry, George, Elaine, and Kramer.

People started talking about a possible Seinfeld reunion immediately, and now the news has been officially confirmed, although a small amount of details about the project have been released. Some people thought that it could be for a Super Bowl commercial or for Seinfeld’s web series.

Both of those rumors have been shut down, although fans have not learned much else yet. In a recent interview where he denied that the Seinfeld reunion would be either of those things, Jerry Seinfeld said “But, it is not not those things, either. It’s a secret project. I gave you more now than I’ve given anyone. I told you what it isn’t, and then I also told you that it isn’t not that either.”

He said that it was a film project, and that other Seinfeld cast members were involved, adding that Jason Alexander will be playing George. The project has been described as “one-and-done,” and Jerry promises that fans will be able to see it “very, very soon.”

Larry David, who was the creator and executive producer of Seinfeld, is also set to have a part in the upcoming Seinfeld reunion, although he will not be seen on camera. Since leaving Seinfeld, David has enjoyed great success with his HBO show Curb Your Enthusiasm.

As fans wait in anticipation, the Seinfeld reunion is getting closer, and the big fans are likely to be creating a ton of buzz with this news. What does everyone think the reunion will consist of?

  • Larry David Joins Twitter At The Behest Of Charity Bribers

Former Seinfeld and current Curb Your Enthusiasm funnyman Larry David has cautiously waded into the brackish waters of social networking. Late Monday, the writer, actor, and producer sent out his first dispatch to the Twitterverse.

    And it’s a demand.

“I was told by Charity Bribes that if I Tweeted they’d give 10K to the NRDC….Pay up!” he said a few hours ago.

It’s really David. The account has been verified by Twitter and his assistant told the Washington Post that yes, it’s really him. So, why is David now on Twitter and what’s he going on about – bribes and such?

I was told by Charity Bribes that if I Tweeted they’d give 10k to the NRDC…Pay up! 19 hours ago via web ·  Reply ·  Retweet ·  Favorite · powered by @socialditto

You have to go back to early April to figure this one out. Back then, we told you about a startup called “Charity Bribes.” Their goal was simple – to crowdsource the bribing of celebrities for a good cause. It’s pretty simple. People go online and pledge any amount of money to see a celeb complete a particular activity. What celeb and what activity is determined via voting on the site. The most popular idea has a month to garner donation pledges.

If the celeb ends up completing the bribe, all of that pledged money goes to a pre-selected charity. If they don’t act on the wishes of the masses, no money goes anywhere.

The first bribe offered up by the site was to Larry David. It was simple – all the bribers wanted him to do was to join Twitter.
And although he didn’t quite join within the (first)30-day session, the pledged money will still end up at the National Resources Defense Council.

    From the Charity Bribes blog:

Thank you to all the bribers for your generous contributions. The total amount of $10,163 will soon be donated to the NRDC. We’ll keep you updated. And, of course, thanks to Larry David for taking the bribe and making our track-record of extortion a perfect 1-for-1.

Back in April, I told you that I thought Charity Bribes was a terrific concept. The only problem was gaining enough press to make other celebrities (future bribe targets) take notice. Now that David has accepted to bribe, the service will hopefully raise even more money for various charities in the future. Let’s also hope that David keeps up with the Twitter thing.

Next up – Conan O’brien. If he interviews a guest on this show wearing an eye patch and a turtleneck, Austism Speaks will get some donations.

  • Charity Bribes Prompts Celebs to Join Twitter

A new website called Charity Bribes take donations for various charities while at the same time goading celebrities into doing “wacky” things, like joining Twitter. The site takes “bribes” from users, which are in turn tied to various charities. Said funds are then used to attempt to talk famous people into doing whatever, and all the money raised is then donated to its corresponding cause.

The concept was created by ad copywriters Chris Baker and William Spencer, and the process is fairly simple:

Join the bribe by pledging money.
If the bribe actually works, funds go to charity. If not, no one is charged.

So, like Kickstarter, if the bribing project fails, none of the patrons are charged. Once the initial bribe funds are collected, the “dare” is presented to a celebrity, who in turn have 30 days to follow through. And, the celebs aren’t supposed to know what’s even going on really at the point of the bribing, with the site’s creators assuming that they have no access to the internet. Users are also encouraged to submit potential bribes for the future:

Apparently, 716 people want to hear Garth Brooks belt out a cover of Sapients’ “My Grind is Tech,” to better acknowledge their stake in The Parkinson Center of Oregon. The present bribe is to try to get Larry David to join Twitter, and has already raised over $7K to benefit the National Resources Defense Council.

Baker and Spencer explain that 5% of the donation proceeds will be applied to operating and accounting costs, which seems legit, and in the FAQ section of the site, the question of “why?” is addressed:

This is a fun way to try to get a celebrity to do something we would appreciate. Something funny, odd, or interesting. Something awesome. More importantly, it raises money for worthy causes and helps make the world a little bit better.

What do you think about Charity Bribes?
