  • Audrina Patridge Confesses To “The Hills” Being Fake

Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt recently revealed that many of the scenes on the reality television show The Hills were fake. Now, Audrina Patridge, one of their fellow co-stars, has confirmed their confession.

“In the beginning, a lot of it was real. As it went on, it was very manipulated and guided and you’re kinda put in these scenarios where you would show up and you didn’t know what you were in for until you were there, and you wanted to run out but they lock the door on you,” Patridge said while being interviewed by E! News’ Giuliana Rancic and Ali Fedotowsky.

Patridge even went on to give a specific example, involving Kristin Cavallari, where the producers wouldn’t allow them to leave an event until they had a fight.

“I actually had to leave early for another event, we were there for about three hours and they were like, ‘You can’t leave until you and Kristin get into a fight.’ So I’m like, ‘Oh my God, Kristin!’ Kristin’s like, ‘Let’s do it.’ I’m like, ‘OK, c’mon.’ It was about Justin [Bobby] and we did it and we got to leave. So, little things like that,” Patridge continued.

Cavallari, who had also been part of the cast of Laguna Beach, which preceded The Hills, backed up Patridge’s story and said that she knew what she was getting herself into when she agreed to be on The Hills.

“Laguna Beach, they really just manipulated situations and put us in situations that we normally wouldn’t have been in, or we’d have to film something that maybe happened a month ago or hasn’t happened yet—stuff like that,” Cavallari said. “When I decided to join The Hills, I knew exactly what I was getting into, I knew exactly the character they wanted me to be, so I said, ‘Listen, I’m game. What do you want me to do?’”

Despite the semi-scripted scenes, Patridge said that she doesn’t have any regrets, and would do it all over again. “It was a show and we had fun,” she said. “You want to be interesting and cause drama because that’s what people want to see. At the end of the day, I don’t think I would do anything different.”

  • Kristin Cavallari Says “The Hills” Was All Fake

Anybody with at least a little bit of sense can probably tell that 99.9 percent of reality TV is fake or at least embellished to some degree, and if you’ve ever taken a look at the MTV show “The Hills,” then you probably know that most of the drama on that show was fake too.

But hey, it’s always nice to have the details behind the fake stuff, right? And today, one of “The Hills” stars Kristin Cavallari gave us some of those details.

“I had fake relationships, fake fights,” said the California native in an interview with Bethenny Frankel. Cavallari also said that her relationship on the show with Brody Jenner was completely made up.

“He was on my show, I dated Brody when I was 18 right after “Laguna Beach” actually, and that’s it. And then on the show “The Hills,” they had us dating a few episodes. They pretended like him and [his real girlfriend] Jayde broke up and I was dating Brody.”

“Then Jade and I got in a huge fight because she saw us out at the club, which wasn’t real at all. They were together the entire time.”

If you caught “The Hills” season finale back in 2010, then you saw the show pull back the curtains in the final scene. After a long and teary goodbye between Cavallari and Jenner, the camera panned upwards, only to reveal they were standing on a Hollywood set, not the actual streets of Los Angeles like the show wanted you to believe.

However, Cavallari’s admission on the “Bethenny” show let fans know just how deep the phony storylines ran. “If we were out at lunch or something, they would text us what to say so that if you were there at the restaurant you wouldn’t see what they were doing. So we would look at our phones and go ‘blah, blah, blah, I can’t believe he said this, blah, blah , blah’ and then we would look to our phones.”

  • Lauren Conrad Gets Engaged To Boyfriend William Tell

Lauren Conrad is officially a bride-to-be! The MTV star posted the news this weekend on her website, LaurenConrad.com, announcing that she and her boyfriend of almost two years, William Tell, are now engaged. The author included a picture of her new diamond, a large, several carat, round rock.

The 27-year-old designer and bestselling author first rose to fame when she appeared on the MTV reality series, Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County, while in high school. Laguna Beach later spawned The Hills, Conrad’s own show, which also aired on MTV.

After appearing on the famous music network for nearly six years, Conrad became a fashion designer, designing a line of apparel, shoes, and accessories to be sold exclusively at Kohl’s. She also published her first novel, L.A. Candy, in June of 2009; it hit the New York Times bestseller list immediately, and encouraged the young author to pen seven more young adult novels since the release of her first.

Tell, 33, is a law student at USC as well as musician and Cali native, just like his fiancée. He and Conrad began dating in early 2012 (Valentine’s Day, to be exact) and recently moved in together in Conrad’s apartment in L.A.

Conrad was, surprisingly, the first to break the news; she posted on her blog on Sunday, “I am very excited to share with you guys that William and I got engaged over the weekend. I am beyond thrilled! Get ready for lots more wedding content here on LaurenConrad.com as we begin the planning process.”

After receiving so much feedback, Conrad later added, “William and I are overwhelmed by all of your warm wishes. Thank you so much for sharing in this special moment.”

Conrad has made headlines in recent years for her choices in suitors; she previously dated actor Kyle Howard, as well as Kardashian brother Brody Jenner. During Laguna Beach and The Hills, Conrad was involved with costars Stephen Colletti and Jason Wahler; interestingly enough, Wahler got married just last weekend to girlfriend Ashley Stack.

No date for a wedding has yet been released.

  • Lauren Conrad Is Engaged To William Tell

Popular television star and novelist, Lauren Conrad, has announced her engagement to William Tell. The twenty-seven-year-old shared the exciting news on her personal blog.

“I am very excited to share with you guys that William and I got engaged over the weekend. I am beyond thrilled! Get ready for lots more wedding content here on LaurenConrad.com as we begin the planning process,” Lauren wrote.

Lauren Conrad went on to thank her fans for their support during this special time in her life.

“William and I are overwhelmed by all of your warm wishes. Thank you so much for sharing in this special moment.” Lauren added.

Ironically, Lauren Conrad had taken to Twitter back in August to offer tips to those recently engaged about how to honor bridesmaids.

The couple first met each other on Valentine’s Day in 2012 through an encounter arranged by friends. Lauren recently spoke about their relationship through Instagram.

“Just looked at the calendar and realized it was a year and half ago today that I met this guy… And I sure am glad I did,” Lauren wrote. Though the actress spent lots of time hiding from the cameras during her days starring on the Hills and Laguna Beach she has already adapted to a quieter life. She recently spoke about this quieter life with Us Weekly.

“We spend a lot of weekends [at my family’s house] hanging out by the pool and doing nothing,” Lauren shared with the magazine.

William fits with the family, which is always a good sign.

“My family loves him, so they love when we come to visit,” Lauren told Us.
