  • Carrie Underwood Saves Lives Of Her Baby, Dogs

Carrie Underwood had a few moments of sheer panic on Saturday when she realized that on a hot summer day her dogs had inadvertently locked both themselves and her four-month-old son inside her car.

Fortunately the country singer wasted no time doing what she knew had to be done. She smashed the glass on one of the windows on her vehicle so she could unlock the door and save both Isaiah and her dogs from the sweltering heat.

Carrie Underwood shared word of her ordeal via social media.

Lady Antebellum singer Hillary Scott sympathized with Carrie Underwood.

Carrie Underwood and husband Mike Fisher welcomed baby Isaiah back in February.

Kudos to Carrie Underwood for breaking her car window to get to her baby and dogs right away. Each year in the U.S. both children and pets die because they are left too long in a hot vehicle.

  • Reba McEntire to Return to CMT Awards Stage for First Time in Ten Years

Reba McEntire is returning to the CMT Awards stage on Wednesday night for the first time in ten years. She and Darius Rucker were just announced as additions to the night’s performance lineup.

A whole slew of country music greats will both perform and present during the evening, but not many have the longevity and popularity in the country music world as that of Reba McEntire.

The 2015 CMT Awards will take place at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. Erin Andrews of Fox Sports and Dancing With the Stars fame, along with Pitch Perfect 2’s Brittany Snow will serve as co-hosts for the event.

In addition to Reba McEntire and Darius Rucker–he will perform outside the arena–other acts at Wednesday night’s CMT Awards include Carrie Underwood, Jason Aldean, Florida Georgia Line, Luke Bryan, Keith Urban, and Sam Hunt. Lady Antebellum take the stage, too, alongside DJ-producer Zedd for a very special country-EDM mashup.

CMT Awards presenters include Arnold Schwarzenegger (not a name many associate with country music–but ok), Billy Ray Cyrus, Cole Swindell, David Spade, and Hunter Hayes.

Carrie Underwood is leader of the CMT Awards pack, with five nominations.

It’s uncertain what Reba McEntire will sing, but it’s also quite likely that fans don’t care. Just seeing her perform on the CMT Awards stage is more than enough–for those in the audience as well as viewers at home.

Will you tune in to the CMT Awards on Wednesday evening at 9:00 p.m. ET to see Reba McEntire and a big lineup of other country music performers, nominees, and award recipients?

  • Savannah Guthrie Returns to ‘Today’ after 3-Month Maternity Leave Looking Fabulous

Savannah Guthrie returned to the Today show Monday after a three month maternity leave and she looks great.

The 42-year-old mother returned 12 weeks after she and husband Mike Feldman welcomed their little baby girl, Vale.

“It’s so great to be back here, just to see everybody and all of our friends here behind the scenes,” said Guthrie. “I’m used to that three a.m. alarm, but it sounds more like a baby crying.”

Guthrie indulged fans and co-hosts alike with some home videos she and Feldman shot of their little family.

The adorable montage shows all of the big moments of the past few months, including an emotional Guthrie heading to the hospital to give birth and the couple holding their baby for the first time.

“When I lay my eyes on her, I’m just like ‘There you are!’” Guthrie gushed.

The clips of the the baby, who apparently “looks a lot like Mike,” include every little new parent faux-pas.

“They don’t send you home with a little manual on what to do” said Guthrie before the video shows the couple trying to install their daughter’s car seat.

“This first month or so I really checked out. It just felt really important for to focus on her and family,” said Guthrie.

Like every mother before her, Guthrie‘s first morning back to work was “bittersweet.” Having to leave her little one at home for the first time was hard because the time she has shared with Vale was “so precious and magical.”

“I definitely don’t want to paint a completely rosy picture. It’s hard. You get very, very exhausted. I’m terrified to come back to a job where I have to speak for a living because I honestly have a really hard time right now putting basic sentences together,” she said before adding “Matt [Lauer] will be so gracious about that.”

The final tear-invoking moment of the video shows Guthrie waking up her daughter before her first day back, whispering into her precious girl’s ear, “I’m going to work.”

It was a sweet return for the new mom, with well-wishes coming from a slew of celebrities, including Josh Lucas, Debra Messing, Keri Russell, Rita Wilson, Glenn Close, Russell Brand, Seth Rogen, Jill Martin, Minnie Driver, Lady Antebellum, Chelsea Handler, Emmy Rossum, Clive Davis and B.J. Novak.

  • Kate Upton Stars in New Lady Antebellum Video

After recently celebrating her 22nd birthday in Chicago with Detroit Tigers boyfriend Justin Verlander, model and actress Kate Upton appears in the new Lady Antebellum music video, “Bartender,” which also features Arrested Development and Veep star Tony Hale.

The American country music group, originally formed in Nashville, Tennessee, consists of Hillary Scott (lead vocals), Charles Kelley (lead vocals) and Dave Haywood (background vocals, guitar, piano, mandolin). At the 54th Grammy Awards, Lady Antebellum took home the award for “Best Country Album” after winning five awards at the 53rd Grammy Awards.

Earlier this week, the threesome promised Twitter fans a premiere of the video on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. on the Today Show and followed through right on time.

In the video, Upton, one of the stars from the film The Other Woman, slams down drinks as quickly as Hale can make them, resulting in a form of boxing match between Upton and her girlfriends and Hale mixing drinks with as much flourish as he can while the members of the band cheer him on, wiping the sweat from his brow. In the end, Upton and her friends cheer as they defeat Hale and he is left kneeling on an empty soundstage, apparently confused.

Well, it’s not Shakespeare, but it’s entertaining and fun and Hale’s neck tattoo is certainly interesting … and large.

The video, shot with sparse set pieces moving in and out to create the illusion of four different locations, was directed by Shane Drake and shot in Los Angeles in May.

Upton seemed to have fun shooting the video and posted about it on Twitter.

“Bartender” is the first single from Lady Antebellum’s fifth studio album which will be released later this year.

  • Stevie Nicks: The Gypsy You May Not Know

Lately we’ve brought you a few different bits of news about Stevie Nicks. First of all, she performed on the AMAs with Lady Antebellum, bringing a little bit of class to the self-congratulatory proceedings of that event. Also, she will be touring with the “classic” (not original) lineup of Fleetwood Mac, along with friend Christine McVie.

Stevie Nicks has been a household word ever since the Fleetwood Mac album in 1975. Of course, she had an album with then-boyfriend Lindsey Buckingham before that. But there is more to the “Welsh witch” than most people may know.

For example, Stevie Nicks and Prince have a musical connection. Stevie Nicks once called up Prince and told him that she was writing as song that she wrote while listening to “Little Red Corvette”, and that she was going to give him 50% of it. That song became “Stand Back” and was a hit.

Then Prince called her up and wanted to do a song with her. He sent her a demo instrumental to write lyrics to. Nicks was so intimidated by the song that she sent it back and told him she couldn’t do it. That song ended up becoming “Purple Rain”.

Stevie Nicks has soft spot for and does a lot to help wounded American soldiers. Back before it became vogue to do so, she would visit Walter Reed Hospital and give out hundreds of free iPod Nano players loaded with music, sitting with soldiers, listening to their stories.

Stevie Nicks had a really bad addiction to cocaine. But she checked herself into the Betty Ford Clinic and kicked her addiction. She once said in an interview:

“I saw how [Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix] went down, and a part of me wanted to go down with them…but then another part of me thought, I would be very sad if some 25-year-old lady rock and roll singer ten years from now said, ‘I wish Stevie Nicks would have thought about it a little more.’ That’s kind of what stopped me and made me really look at the world through clear eyes.”

Nicks is now 65, clean and sober, about to start a tour with the band she helped put on the map in the U.S.

  • Lady Antebellum And Stevie Nicks Perform At 2014 ACM Awards

The 2014 Academy of Country Music Awards yielded some fantastic performances on Sunday from esteemed country artists such as Blake Shelton, Sheryl Crow, and Rascal Flatts. However, it was the duet between country music group Lady Antebellum and legendary vocalist Stevie Nicks that rocked the show.

The three-time ACM Vocal Group of the Year and “The Reigning Queen of Rock and Roll” performed Lady Antebellum’s current hit song, Golden, followed by the classic Rhiannon by Fleetwood Mac.

The two artists have performed together in the past; they appeared on the television show CMT Crossroads on Country Music Television or CMT, in which Lady Antebellum and Nicks joined forces on such Fleetwood Mac hits as Landslide, Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around, as well as Lady A’s Love Don’t Live Here Anymore and Need You Now.

The 65-year-old legend sang Lady Antebellum’s praises earlier this week, saying that Golden is the group’s Landslide because it’s just that spectacular”. Lady A singer Charles Kelley had nothing but good things to say about Nicks as well. In an interview with Yahoo! Music, Kelley said that Nicks is “incredibly humble” and that she patiently rehearsed with them for hours until they “got it just right”.

Nicks is due to go on a North American tour with Fleetwood Mac that will feature keyboardist Christine McVie, who joined the band in 1970 and retired in 1998. She rejoined the group early this year and also performed on stage with Fleetwood Mac in London’s O2 Arena in September of last year.

Lady Antebellum is currently on tour around the United States, and has already performed at various cities including San Diego, California, and Phoenix, Arizona. They are scheduled to appear in Evansville, Indiana on April 10 and Atlanta, Georgia on April 11. A complete list of their tour dates can be seen on the official Lady Antebellum website.

  • Lady Antebellum Selects “Compass” as New Single

County music supergroup, Lady Antebellum has been soaring with the May release of their album, “Golden.” And what’s even more exciting is that the Capitol Nashville group recently announced their newest single as, “Compass.”

“Sometimes in this amazing music industry that we live, breathe, and work in, a song comes into your life that you can’t ignore,” said Hillary Scott of Lady A.

Scott spoke with Billboard and went on to discuss the excitement that wells with “Compass.”

“From the minute we first heard it, we believed in the message and the overall feel of the song. We knew we could put our own little overall spin on it. We had to have the fans hear it – immediately. So, we got creative, sat together with our team and our label, and told them that this song is where we are right now, as a band and personally. We wanted it out, so thankfully, everyone worked with us and are excited about it too, ” said Scott.

YouTube users and Lady A fans sure are exciting about the recent announcement. One user said, “Love it!! Another great song form Lady A!!”

  • Stevie Nicks & Lady Antebellum Collaborate For CMT Series

Stevie Nicks & Lady Antebellum Collaborate For CMT Series

Country and classic rock fans alike are about to see the duet(s) of the century when a new CMT Crossroads episode airs in September, featuring the collaborations of Stevie Nicks and Lady Antebellum.

Nicks, front woman for the decades-famous band, Fleetwood Mac, is a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, as well as a winner of multiple Grammy awards; she won five with Fleetwood and eight as a solo artist. Stevie also penned many of the group’s most famous songs, such as “Landslide,” “Dreams,” and “Rhiannon,” as well as her own hit, “Edge of Seventeen.”

Lady Antebellum, a relatively new country music trio, has experienced a whirlwind of extreme success in their short career; they have won “Vocal Group of the Year” three times in a row, as well as the all-genre-encompassing awards, “Record of the Year,” and “Song of the Year.” (Including the latter two accolades, they have accumulated a total of seven Grammys.) The group has also had seven No. 1 hits on the music charts, five platinum singles, and sold more than 11 million albums throughout the world.

Discussing the upcoming feature, Nicks reported that she listened repeatedly to the country group’s albums for three months. Talking about their new song, “Golden,” Nicks admitted that she was in tears just thirty seconds into it, saying, ‘[It’s] their “Landslide.”‘ Charles Kelley then responded with, “Now we might cry.”

Stevie said that she has been known for her hoggish attitude toward her song “Edge of Seventeen,” ‘because it was so personal.’ However, she shared it with Lady A, stating, “I’m proud to share it with Lady Antebellum, because they’re good enough to do it.” To Rolling Stone, Nicks also quoted, “These songs are amazing. These songs make you feel like you’re in love.”

For their part, Lady Antebellum lauded their predecessor at the show taping with multiple tributes to the 65-year-old: Charles Kelley, one-third of Lady A, gave his best impersonation of Nicks’ famous onstage spin. He also began a song by shouting, “Stevie F*****g Nicks!”

The ten-song set will open with five Lady A hits, including “Need You Now,” “Golden,” and “Love Don’t Live Here Anymore.” After singing some of the country trio’s anthems, the foursome will then perform both Nicks’ solo and Fleetwood Mac ballads, such as “Edge of Seventeen,” “Rhiannon,” “Landslide,” and “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around.”

Both Lady Antebellum and Stevie Nicks (Fleetwood Mac) will be touring this Fall; Lady Antebellum in the U.S., and Fleetwood Mac in Europe and Australia – they just finished a sold-out American tour.

The hour-long episode of Crossroads, which will also include commentary and interviews with the stars, was filmed in January in Los Angeles, and has been abuzz in the media ever since. You can catch the episode premiere on CMT on Friday, September 13 at 10:00 p.m.
