  • Miranda Lambert Joins Ashley Monroe on Nashville Stage to Sing “The Blade”

Miranda Lambert joined good friend Ashley Monroe on stage in Nashville, Tennessee this weekend to sing “The Blade” from Monroe’s new album of the same name. Ashley Monroe is the singer both Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert promoted together in the days following their divorce announcement this past summer.

Ashley Monroe thrilled her audience when she brought Miranda Lambert out on stage.

“I just released a record this year called “The Blade” and we’re gonna do that song,” Monroe announced after engaging in some chatter with her band. “And I’m gonna have the special guest vocalist that sang on the record with me sing it the first time live really ever. So, here’s little Miss Miranda Lambert.”

The crowd responded with deafening applause.

Miranda Lambert and Ashley Monroe made up two-thirds of the country band Pistol Annies. They, along with Angaleena Presley, have even dropped hints recently about a possible reunion. The ladies reunited recently, during Miranda Lambert’s Roadside Bars and Pink Guitars Tour to perform a couple of songs.

Miranda Lambert has lots more time for performing now that she’s a single lady once again. Do you think she’ll consider combining a reunion with the Pistol Annies with her solo career? And let’s not forget she’s going in tour with Kenny Chesney in 2016.

Miranda Lambert is soon to be one very busy woman.

How’s she ever going to meet a man if she works all the time?

  • Sofia Vergara Calls Reese Witherspoon “My Little Pony,” Lauds Her as She Receives American Cinematheque Award

Sofia Vergara calls Reese Witherspoon “My Little Pony.” It’s a term of endearment she came up with for her Hot Pursuit costar while filming.

On Friday night, Sofia Vergara lauded her costar as she received the American Cinematheque Award.

Reese Witherspoon thanked her family at the event. She called husband Jim Toth “my biggest fan and my greatest champion and without whom I would never have scaled a mountain or started a new company or parented three amazing kids.”

“Speaking of my amazing children—Ava and Deacon are here. Hopefully Tennessee is asleep. He never sleeps—I just want to thank you for all the times you had to say goodbye to your mom while she packed to go on a location or for missing your school trips or special days because you were on some location in some far flung area in Georgia or Louisiana or London or wherever and for understanding that I love my job, that it feeds my soul to be creative and how I hope one day it may feed your soul too and that you’ll teach your children to be hardworking and creative and for knowing in your heart that no matter where I am in the world you are always with me,” she said. “I love you more than you will ever know.”

Sofia Vergara lightened the moment while recalling the promotion of Hot Pursuit on Spanish TV.

“She was so gracious that she even spoke in Spanish on live TV with a very weird accent but at least she was trying,” Vergara said of Reese Witherspoon. “It was embarrassing to me.”

“She has the best skin and the biggest butt of any white woman in Hollywood. You know, it’s true—you have said it to me, too!” Sofia Vergara added.

In addition to the Modern Family star, Reese Witherspoon was lauded by Kate Hudson, Matthew McConaughey, Laura Dern, Diane Ladd, and more. Kenny Chesney dedicated his hit “Wild Child” to Witherspoon.

It no doubt meant a great deal to Reese Witherspoon to receive this award, and even more to have her family and close friends like Sofia Vergara present as part of the celebration.

  • Miranda Lambert to Receive Star on Nashville’s Music City Walk of Fame

Miranda Lambert has had an event-filled summer, and while not all of those events have been good ones–like her divorce from Blake Shelton–this latest one has filled her with a sense of honor and pride.

Alongside the legendary Johnny Cash, songwriter Steve Cropper, and Gaylord President and CEO E.W. “Bud” Wendell, Miranda Lambert will soon have a star on Nashville’s Music City Walk of Fame.

The five-time CMA and six-time ACM Female Vocalist of the Year shared her excitement in a statement to the media.

“Thank you so much to the City of Nashville and Music City Walk of Fame for this honor and privilege,” Miranda Lambert says in the press release. “I am proud to join a heritage of other female inductees, such as Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, Trisha Yearwood, Reba McEntire, Emmylou Harris and Martina McBride. This is a milestone moment that I will cherish forever. I want to congratulate my fellow inductees, Steve Cropper, E.W. ‘Bud’ Wendell and the legendary Johnny Cash–just saying his name alongside mine, takes my breath away.”

Miranda Lambert’s fans can go to the free event, scheduled for October 6th at 2:00 p.m. Lambert, along with Steve Cropper and Bud Wendell, will attend the event.

On the heels of her divorce from The Voice coach Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert’s summer has been somewhat salvaged by this, and one other tidbit of exciting news. In addition to her star on the Music City Walk of Fame, Miranda Lambert is set to go on tour with Kenny Chesney in 2016. This is the first time the two will have toured together since 2009.

Congratulations are certainly in order as Miranda Lambert ends her summer with this run of exciting, career-affirming news.

  • Calvin Harris: Is He Taylor Swift’s New Love?

Calvin Harris and Taylor Swift have been spotted together again, prompting many to wonder if the two are dating. Harris and the ‘Style’ singer attended a Kenny Chesney concert together in Nashville on Thursday night, and Calvin Harris was among those cheering loudly when Taylor Swift was invited up on stage to sing with the country star.

On Wednesday, Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris were spotted together (and wearing matching outfits no less) at a Whole Foods store. Taylor attended one of Calvin’s concerts earlier in March in Las Vegas. It was after that concert that Calvin Harris told Capital FM that she “looks lovely” but is not his “type.”

Either Taylor Swift turned out to be his type or Calvin Harris changed what he perceives his “type” to be, because it’s pretty clear these two have been spending quite a bit of time together.

It was only a little over a month ago when Calvin Harris and model Aarika Wolf parted ways. And Taylor Swift hasn’t dated anyone since that fateful New Years Eve split from One Direction’s Harry Styles back in 2013. In the past, however, she had a string of bad romances, including pairings with Jake Gyllenhaal, Joe Jonas, Conor Kennedy, Taylor Lautner, and John Mayer.

Last year while promoting her album 1989, Taylor Swift told E! News she hadn’t given up on dating, but was being “very protective” of her happiness.

“I found a place in my life that feels really great and I’m not willing to compromise that for just anyone, and so, you can paraphrase that all you want into something very extreme, but they make what I say extreme no matter what I say. I’m really happy about the fact that being single doesn’t feel like being alone,” the ‘Blank Space’ singer said. “I have love in my life, I just don’t have a relationship, and that feels really natural right now.”

“I’m not going to compromise the happiness and independence that I’ve found for just anybody. The idea of a date gives me a partial panic attack!” she added. “It includes 40 paparazzi cameras shooting through windows at us, and that’s not relaxing or alluring for me. That makes me want to crawl under the couch and hide! But I’m fine! I have two cats. That’s all I need.”

“It would take an astonishing human for me to even consider getting back into a relationship. It would take something really, really, really, really different—a kind of a one-in-a-million person for me to face all that. I don’t have any kid of idea who I’d want to be with, because I don’t have any pieces missing from my life right now. I’m not looking for anything to complete,” Taylor Swift said. “I think that’s a nice place to be.”

Do you think Calvin Harris–known best for hits including ‘Feel So Close,’ might be that one-in-a-million person for Taylor Swift?

It would no doubt shock her fans to see her settle down into a good relationship.

  • Kenny Chesney Look-Alike Thrown Out Of Show

They say everyone has a “twin” somewhere in the world; someone who looks, acts, or speaks like someone else. After all, no two snowflakes are just alike, but there must be some that are similar, right?

If that’s the case, country singer Kenny Chesney has found his “twin”, but under rather awkward circumstances.

Chesney fan and schoolteacher Nate Blankenship showed up to a concert in Nashville recently and, because of his resemblance to the star, was stopped by several people and asked to take photos. Whether they thought he was the real Kenny Chesney or just wanted to meet the man who looks so much like him is unknown, but apparently the security team at the venue–LP Field–didn’t appreciate all the hubbub. They quickly escorted him out, saying he was causing a disturbance.

Obviously, Blankenship was upset, and tweeted about the incident right after it happened.

“Just got kicked out of concert because drunk people thought I was actually him. No refund … so mad,” he wrote.

One of the security guards allegedly told him he was acting on orders that came “straight from the top”, and told Blankenship that he had been spotted earlier at the show and they were “tipped off” about him.

Once Chesney found out, he was quick to try and make amends with Blankenship and issued a statement about his lack of knowledge of the incident.

“Being made aware through the media that fan Nathan Blankenship was removed from the Brothers of the Sun Tour show in Nashville on Saturday night, the promoter of the show is contacting Blankenship to resolve the matter,” read a statement from Chesney’s record label to E! News. No one in Chesney’s management or promoter camp was aware that this fan had been escorted from the show until after it had been reported by the media.”

Blankenship also issued a statement, saying he will be getting back the $200 he paid for his ticket in addition to some record company swag. He also used the opportunity to clear up his name, as it’s been reported that he is a Chesney impersonator. He insists that is not the case; that’s just the way he looks.

“I would like to thank my family, friends and the many well wishers who have supported me in the past 24 hours, which has probably been the most hectic day of my life,” Blankenship said in a statement yesterday after hearing that Chesney’s label wanted to make amends.

“I heard from Sony Music and the concert promoters, and they have told they will be refunding the money I paid for my ticket to the concert. In addition, Sony has said they will be sending me several CDs, which I appreciate. I would like to clear up one possible misconception. I am not now, nor have I ever been a Kenny Chesney impersonator and contrary to several reports, I do not sign autographs, pretend to be him for financial gain, or follow him around from concert to concert.”

The most surprising thing about this entire story, for me, is that a concert ticket is two hundred bucks. Maybe I’m getting old, but that seems like a lot of dough to drop on someone who isn’t The Rolling Stones.

  • Kenny Chesney’s Gonna Deliver a YouTube Serenade Tonight

The country music megastar with the allergy to shirt sleeves, Kenny Chesney, is bringing his boot-scootin’ beach bum road show to a lucky 20,000 fans in Wildwood Beach, New Jersey, tonight but if you weren’t able to score a free ticket – yep, tickets were free to this one – fret not. Thanks to YouTube and VEVO, you can tune in online this evening to watch the whole 75-minute show live at home without the perpetual risk of someone spilling beer on you (unless you decide to pour beer on yourself whilst sitting at home on your sofa).

As part of the American Expressed Unstaged series, Chesney’s performance will be melting hearts and faces with songs from his newly released album, “Welcome to the Fish Bowl.” Defying what is a largely accepted practice in rock ‘n roll of never starting on time, the show starts promptly at 8:30PM EST / 5:30PM PST over at http://www.youtube.com/KennyChesneyVEVO. In the meantime, blow your lid off with the promo below:

It’s of note that Chesney’s live-streamed performance will be directed by Jonathan Demme, who won an Academy Award for Best Director on his work with Silence of the Lambs. Yes, THAT Silence of the Lambs. Given that was one of the most psychologically unnerving films ever, you might unwittingly be tuning in to a Hannibal Lector joint.

    Watch out.
