  • Kellie Pickler Says Her Reality Show ‘Will Be Light And Positive,’ Sets Boundaries From The Start

Country music songstress Kellie Pickler is no stranger to reality shows as she herself was a product of reality shows American Idol and a winner in Dancing With The Stars. So when she was offered a reality show of her own, she already had a pretty good idea of how she wants it to be.

“We want to keep it light and positive,” Pickler said during an interview with The Associated Press at the set of her new reality show I Love Kellie Pickler. “There’s enough darkness out in the world. And there’s enough negativity on television.”

The 13-episode docu-series, premiering at 10 p.m. Eastern on Thursday, is produced by Ryan Seacrest and will revolve mainly on her marriage to songwriter-producer Kyle Jacobs.

Pickler wants to welcome her fans to their Nashville home but without the drama people are used to seeing in shows like the Keeping Up With The Kardashians. Fans will get to feel her easygoing and light personality in the series.

Even though they are doing a reality show, the country singer admitted she knew she hadsto set boundaries. “You definitely have to set boundaries from the start with anything you do,” she said of I Love Kellie Pickler. “And keep things sacred for you and your marriage.”

The docu-series follows the everyday life of the couple, who has been married for five years now. “People know what we do in front of the curtain,” the American Idol alum said. “They know what we do onstage or what he does in the studio. This is about who we are when we clock out.” What is Pickler like behind the cameras?

The country singer shares her talent and time to thousands of brothers and sisters in the army when she is not performing onstage. In fact, she has entertained 38,000 active troop members on nine overseas tours and more than a hundred events with the USO.

Pickler said that sharing her time is not enough to show her gratitude toward these soldiers who serve and protect the country.

  • Kellie Pickler Lands ‘Drama-Free, Family Friendly’ Reality Show

Kellie Pickler has landed her own reality show.

The country singer is not new to reality television. She began her career on American Idol and soon found herself showing off her dancing skills in Dancing With the Stars. So, it’s not surprising that Pickler would agree to a new CMT reality show about her marriage to songwriter-producer Kyle Jacobs.

What may be surprising is the show, I Love Kellie Pickler, is being touted as a drama-free, family friendly romp.

“You definitely have to set boundaries from the start with anything you do,” Pickler said of her new show. ”And keep things sacred for you and your marriage.”

Produced by Ryan Seacrest, the 13-episode series will premiere this Thursday at 10 p.m.

Unlike many other reality shows — anything Kardashian comes to mind — the series will not feature a designer lifestyle, nor will it feature the raucous, drunken carousing of CMT’s signature reality show, Party Down South.

Instead, Kellie Pickler and her husband, will offer fans a peek at their wholesome, family-oreinted lifestyle.

“We want to keep it light and positive,” Pickler told The Associated Press. “There’s enough darkness out in the world. And there’s enough negativity on television.”

“There’s no drama crazy,” Jacobs concurred, who has been married to Pickler for five years.

“No,” Pickler said. “Definitely not. There are no cat fights. We don’t have cats. … He’s allergic.”

The series follows the couple through a busy summer touring season, taking trips with friends and renewing their vows.

“People know what we do in front of the curtain,” Kellie Pickler said. “They know what we do onstage or what he does in the studio. This is about who we are when we clock out.”

  • Kellie Pickler: Here’s A Preview Of Her Daytime Presence

Kellie Pickler is going to be co-hosting a daytime talk show with Faith Hill. The show is said to be about lifestyle topics, including cooking, gardening, home design, etc.

It doesn’t yet have a title, but it will reportedly be syndicated.

In case you can’t wait to get a taste of Pickler’s presence on daytime talk show television, you can watch her appearance on the Rachael Ray Show. Pickler appeared Wednesday.

Here’s a clip in which she talks about American Idol, which she appeared on ten years ago. “I’m like an antique idol,” she says.

And here she is talking about her experience on Dancing with the Stars and where she keeps her trophy:

Do you think she can carry a show as a co-host? What should it be called?

  • Faith Hill Headed to Daytime TV With Kellie PIckler

Faith Hill and Kellie Pickler are headed to daytime TV, where they’ll co-host a show on lifestyle topics. It sounds like a cross between Martha Stewart and country music.

RELATED: Here’s a Preview of Kellie Pickler’s Daytime Presence.

In reality, that’s not so far off the mark.

The syndicated series–as yet untitled–will reportedly focus on topics including cooking, home design and gardening. Faith Hill will also serve as executive producer for the show.

Excited about working with Kellie Pickler, Faith Hill recently lauded her new partner in crime.

“This is a woman of so many talents,” she said. “Kellie is smart, compassionate, funny, quick-witted and has a heart for service – the work she’s done with the USO and our service men and women is no secret. She possesses the ability to reach far beyond the camera and into the hearts of people, allowing you to feel immediately connected to her. There was no question in my mind that she should be a big part of this show.”

Kellie Pickler has done TV before. She was discovered on American Idol, won a season of Dancing With the Stars, and guest hosted on shows including The Chew and The View. She and hubby Kyle Jacobs will star in a new reality show starting next month, called I Love Kellie Pickler.

Faith Hill’s last project was a Las Vegas residency alongside hubby Tim McGraw.

Will you tune in to watch Faith Hill and Kellie Pickler on daytime TV? What do these country stars have over Martha Stewart?

Personality, for one. Where Martha Stewart is rather monotone and dry, Faith Hill and Kellie Pickler will no doubt be boisterous and hilarious.

It’s uncertain when the country ladies will debut their show, as it’s still in its infancy. It will be filmed in Faith Hill’s hometown of Nashville, so perhaps fans will get a tour of her home.

Even those not into cooking and gardening can hope for a glimpse of Tim McGraw.

  • Faith Hill, Kellie Pickler To Team Up For New Nashville-Based Daytime Talk Show

Country music icon Faith Hill is taking her superstar status to another industry — daytime television.

Not only is Hill hosting the program, but she is also said to be working as its executive producer. She has personally handpicked fellow country artist Kellie Pickler to be her co-host on the show.

Sources say that while the series has yet to be named, it’s been reported that it will tackle popular lifestyle topics such as cooking, entertaining, gardening, and home design among others.

Based in Hill’s hometown of Nashville, Tennessee, the show was also described to feature “an informative, southern-inspired and fun-filled celebration of everyday living and activities,” according to one of its press releases. OWN executive and former Oprah executive producer Lisa Erspamer is also said to work with Hill in creating the show.

The 48-year-old “Mississippi Girl” singer reportedly selected 29-year-old Pickler for various reasons. Apart from the fact they are represented by the same agency, Hill has nothing but great things to say about the American Idol alum.

“This is a woman of so many talents,” Hill says of Pickler, who has her share of accomplishments including a gold country record, numerous country music chart toppers, and a championship in the 16th season of Dancing with the Stars.

Hill adds, “She possesses the ability to reach far beyond the camera and into the hearts of people, allowing you to feel immediately connected to her.” Pickler is an active supporter of charitable institutions and has lent her time and efforts to numerous fundraising causes. She is especially fond of children’s charities including the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee and the Kiss for a Cause Foundation for orphaned and abandoned children. She has also participated in USO tours.

Kellie Pickler isn’t new to the small screen. Apart from her appearances in various competition shows, she will also star in her own reality series, I Love Kelly Pickler with husband Kyle Jacobs. The series is set to premiere in November.

  • Kellie Pickler, Faith Hill Team Up for New Daytime Show

Kellie Pickler, Faith Hill Team Up for New Daytime Show

Kellie Pickler wants to give you lifestyle tips.

The singer is teaming up with another country star, Faith Hill, to launch a new daytime talk show. Hill will produce the yet-to-be-titled series, and Pickler will co-host with another yet-to-be-named star.

According to Billboard, the show will focus on cooking, home design, and gardening.

Looks like Kellie Pickler could be your next Martha Stewart.

“I got to see firsthand how women live on Pinterest,” says Lisa Erspamer who is co-producing the show with Hill. “They’re looking at recipes and home design and all those types of things that make up a home and help you have a good quality of life. I felt like that type of show was really missing in daytime television.”

“Kellie is as real as anybody could ever be.”

This new show isn’t the only one Pickler has on the horizon. Her new reality show with husband Kyle Jacobs, I Love Kellie Pickler, premieres next month.

“This is a woman of so many talents,” Faith Hill said of Kellie Pickler. “Kellie is smart, compassionate, funny, quick-witted and has a heart for service … She possesses the ability to reach far beyond the camera and into the hearts of people, allowing you to feel immediately connected to her.”

  • ‘American Idol’ Ending With Season 15, Did ‘The Voice’ Cause Its Demise?

American Idol is coming to an end following its 15th season, which is scheduled to begin in January. Do you suppose The Voice played a role in its demise? The singing competition show was the first of its kind, and was initially met with a huge viewership. After NBC introduced The Voice, however, the ratings plummeted.

Us Weekly reports that Fox made the announcement Monday morning, May 11th, about American Idol’s cancellation.

American Idol will begin its 15th–and final–season this January on FOX,” the network wrote in a statement. “A season-long celebratory event, American Idol XV will feature host Ryan Seacrest and judges Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick, Jr., as they search for the final Idol superstar and pay tribute to the past 14 seasons of amazingly talented contestants and the millions of fans who tweeted, texted and championed their Idols.”

American Idol will have graced the airwaves and scoured through countless prospective star singers for 13 years when it ends its run. The only constant figure throughout its entire reign is Ryan Seacrest. During the show’s first season, he introduced judges Paula Abdul, Simon Cowell, and Randy Jackson. That trio went on to work with Kara DioGuardi, Ellen DeGeneres, Lopez, Steven Tyler, Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj, Urban, and Connick, Jr. The trio of Lopez, Urban, and Connick, Jr. has been in place since 2014’s 13th season of American Idol.

Some major talent has come from American Idol throughout the years. Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Clay Aiken, Jennifer Hudson, and Kellie Pickler all competed on or won American Idol.

Are you disappointed to hear American Idol is coming to an end with its 15th season? Do you think The Voice , with judges Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, Pharrell Wiliams, and Christina Aguilera is a better quality program? Might it have contributed to American Idol calling it quits?

  • Kellie Pickler and Hubby Cast in CMT Reality Show

Kellie Pickler and her husband Kyle Jacobs have been cast in an upcoming CMT reality show called I Love Kellie Pickler. Produced by Ryan Seacrest, the show will follow the lives of the former American Idol star and her songwriter husband. It is set to premiere in September.

Brian Philips is the CMT president. He says the network has long wanted to do a show with and about Kellie Pickler.

The ‘Red High Heels’ singer “has always been the object of our desire for a show,” he says. “She emanates a natural charisma; she entertains wherever she goes.”

Kellie Pickler says that I Love Kellie Pickler won’t focus on her music career, but rather her life with her husband.

“Most people that are familiar with me kind of know what I do,” she says. “This is more what goes on behind the curtain, not just in music but personally. We want to keep it upbeat, light and comical.”

Kellie Pickler and Kyle Jacobs announced their new show on Thursday at the The Times Center in New York City. She described the show as being akin to a southern I Love Lucy.

Do you suppose Ryan Seacrest ever imagined when Kellie Pickler was a contestant on American Idol that he would one day produce her show on CMT?

Will you tune in to catch Kellie Pickler’s reality show when it airs on CMT this coming fall?

  • Kellie Pickler Talks New Album And Idols

Kellie Pickler has been working hard on her newest album and when she wasn’t in the studio recording songs, she was performing them for large crowds.

Pickler recently talked about her new album and the dedication it takes to get one released in a timely manner.

“I’m working on my fifth album. I’m in the whole songwriting and song-picking process. We’re in the very early stages of working on it,” Pickler said. “It’s always great to have new music out — to freshen up the set list, and it’s exciting for the country fans. They are always eager to have new music.”

“It’s interesting that when you’re working on an album, you pretty much live with it for the year that you’re working on it. Then you send it off for the copies to be made, and the artwork to be produced and distributed. That takes months. So you’ve lived with the album for almost a year before anyone hears it. Then, by the time it comes out, you’re ready for the next one, because you’re sung it a million times — but not for anyone outside of your circle,” she added.

Kellie is just as excited to perform her music live as she is to release her album.

It wasn’t very long ago that Kellie was in the crowd watching and listening to some of her favorite singers. She strives to move the crowds she performs in front of the same way she was moved by her idols.

Kellie has even got to meet a few of her idols, including Dolly Parton.

“I’m a big sucker for the classics, and I love me some Dolly Parton. I definitely enjoyed meeting her. She is such a wonderful asset to country music and the music business in general. She’s done it all, and is someone you could learn a lot from. Reba McEntire is amazing, too. I’ve been lucky to meet her several times,” she said.

Now that Kellie has been chosen as the Nashville representative for the Starwood Preferred Guest’s Hear The Music, See The World Concert Series, she will be spending a lot more time in Nashville and will likely meet more of her idols.

  • Kellie Pickler Sings A Song For Cats

Kellie Pickler is a self-described crazy cat woman and now she is singing or meowing a song for cats. Pickler is taking a break from her current tour to spend some time raising money for the Food Bank of New York City.

Pickler is asking New Yorkers or anyone visiting the city to stop by a mobile recording studio to record their own version of the Meow Mix theme song. For every person who records the song in the studio, 100 meals will be donated to the Food Bank.

“For those that might need a little encouragement – those that I need to drag into the studio – if they need a little help, I’ll jump in and sing it with them,” Pickler said. “It’s not a really difficult song to learn. There’s one lyric: ‘Meow.’ So you just say that a bunch, and make it your own.”

Pickler said that she has always loved cats and she is happy to combine her love for cats with a good cause.

Shortly after finishing American Idol, Pickler adopted a cat from an animal shelter and had planned to give him a forever home. Unfortunately, her husband had an allergic reaction to the cat and she had to find him a new home.

“It was the husband or the cat,” Pickler said. “But luckily we have a great home for Pickles. He’s actually with friends in North Carolina. He’s on a farm, and he is happy. He’s like Garfield, but a farm cat. But it’s really hard. I can’t see pictures of him or I’ll start crying, and then my husband feels bad.”

“I am that crazy cat lady,” she continued. “If my husband was not allergic to cats, we’d probably have a houseful of cats.”

Although Pickler can’t have a cat, she still loves animals and does own a few dogs. She said she has a habit of rescuing other animals as well.

“I’ve rescued several animals,” she said. “My husband never knows when my bus pulls up at the house if a critter’s gonna come crawling off the bus and have to stay with us till we find a home for it. But I’m notorious for trying to find homes for stray dogs or cats or whatever. We’ve taken raccoons, snakes – everything you can think of.”

Pickler said that she hopes animal lovers will be anxious to record the song and that everyone will be willing to have a little fun and raise some money for the charity.

  • Kellie Pickler Teams Up With Meow Mix For Charity

Kellie Pickler has made an interesting partnership in New York City. She has partnered with Meow Mix cat food to support a charity drive for people in New York City who go hungry.

Kellie Pickler will be joining the Meow Mix mobile sound booth on August 13th-16th in an effort to help cat parents appreciate and take advantage of the time they spend feeding their cats.

How, do you ask, will they do that? Well, cat parents will have a chance to step into the sound booth and record a remix of the famous Meow Mix jingle on their own, with their cat(s), or a lucky few will record it with Kellie Pickler.

For each remix recorded, Meow Mix will donate 100 meals to Food Bank for New York City. Kellie Pickler and Meow Mix are hoping to reach their 100,000 meal goal.

“Being a cat lover and previous cat parent myself, I am really looking forward to my turn of remixing the iconic Meow Mix jingle in the sound booth,” said Kellie Pickler.

She continued, “And, I hope we have a lot of other cat lovers and parents join us in this campaign because the more recordings, the more meals Meow Mix will donate to the Food Bank For New York City.”

Margarette Purvis, President and CEO of Food Bank For New York City, said of Kellie Pickler’s and Meow Mix’s efforts, “Today, nearly one in three New Yorkers struggles to afford food. That certainly means there is nothing left over to feed beloved pets, often forcing families to abandon them. We are very grateful to Meow Mix for their camaraderie and generosity so that we may provide an added layer of support to New Yorkers in need and keep these families together.”

Such a great cause for Kellie Pickler to be a part of! She is one busy and thoughtful girl.

  • Kellie Pickler To Join Amy Grant As Athena Warrior

Kellie Pickler is joining Amy Grant as an Athena Warrior for breast cancer awareness.

The American Idol alum is set to participate in Athena Water’s “Eat. Drink. Party Pink.” event in Nashville on September 30th.

The event is held in order to raise awareness about the debilitating disease.

Kellie Pickler and Amy Grant will lend their voices and powerful lyrics to the Athena Warriors event, which will kick off Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Kellie Pickler is no stranger to the effects of cancer on a family.

She said, “Breast cancer really hit close to home for me when my ‘big sis,’ Summer, was diagnosed at such an early age,”

Kellie Pickler continued, “I’m happy to say she is now cancer-free. But so many other women continue to have to fight this disease, and even more may not know they need to be aware of earlier detection than previously thought. That’s why I’m excited to be an Athena Warrior… I want to help raise awareness so we can find a cure.”

Amy Grant is also quite excited to be joining Kellie Pickler in raising Breast Cancer awareness.

She said, “I am happy to serve as an Athena Warrior again this year and donate proceeds from this song to the American Cancer Society,”

Grant continued, “We all know someone who has suffered from this terrible disease, and I encourage everyone to do what they can to help raise awareness and funds for research.”

Sounds like a great night for a great cause! Kellie Pickler is not new to supporting a good cause. The country music starlet joined the “Every Moment Counts” campaign and spent her Christmas in Afghanistan last year to perform for US troops.

Kellie Pickler said of her experience, “The USO tours and programs I’ve been a part of have definitely been the highlight of my career, so I’m honored to join the USO in helping to raise awareness about the many precious moments that our troops and their families sacrifice due to their commitment and service to our country,”

Good luck to Kellie Pickler and the rest of the Athena Warriors. Hopefully this event will be successful in raising awareness of breast cancer.

  • Kellie Pickler Talks Music Inspirations And Marriage

Kellie Pickler recently opened up about the singers who inspired her to pursue a career in music. She said that she became a fan of country music at a young age and never stopped listening to it or wanting to become a singer.

She grew up listening to a wide range of country music artists, and said that several of them helped shape her into the singer she is today. Two singers who had the biggest influence on her as a singer are Tammy Wynette and Loretta Lynn.

“She is one of the reasons I fell in love with country music,” she said of Tammy Wynette. “I have sat on my bus and YouTubed videos of her singing. I just close my eyes and I feel like she’s right there with me, singing. I’m hanging on to every word. And I love that she just stood there and sang her songs.”

Pickler also talked about Loretta Lynn and how she admired her ability to capture an audience.

“We did a show a few years ago with Loretta Lynn in Canada … She stood there, behind that microphone, and just sang hit after hit, and everyone was hanging on every note, every lyric,” she said. “She didn’t need people swinging from the rafters to get their attention. She had the power of a great country song.”

Pickler went on to say how important her music is to her, but insisted that her family comes first and is also a huge inspiration for her and motivates her to do her best at all times.

“My husband Kyle changed my life,” she says. “He is my sanctuary and my safe place to come to. We write together and we work together some and he brings out the best in me … He makes me a better person and a better artist.”

Do you think Kellie Pickler’s music is similar to Tammy Wynette’s or Loretta Lynn’s?

  • Kellie Pickler Inspired by Tammy Wynette, Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton–and Her Husband

Kellie Pickler, who turned 28 this weekend, draws her inspiration from country greats like Tammy Wynette, Loretta Lynn, and Dolly Parton. A recent report says the former American Idol contestant was shaped by these women in country music.

“She is one of the reasons I fell in love with country music,” Pickler says of Tammy Wynette. “I have sat on my bus and YouTubed videos of her singing. I just close my eyes and I feel like she’s right there with me, singing. I’m hanging on to every word. And I love that she just stood there and sang her songs.”

“We did a show a few years ago with Loretta Lynn in Canada … She stood there, behind that microphone, and just sang hit after hit, and everyone was hanging on every note, every lyric,” Kellie adds. “She didn’t need people swinging from the rafters to get their attention. She had the power of a great country song.”

Dolly Parton has long been an inspiration for Kellie Pickler and she got to meet her for the very first time just months after her elimination from American Idol. Dolly rounds out Kellie’s list of great country women, however she admits she gains inspiration from Hank Williams, too. She also cites the late Patsy Cline, fellow American Idol alumni Katharine McPhee and Mandisa, and her family as well. In fact she credits her family even more than these country legends.

“My husband Kyle changed my life,” she says. “He is my sanctuary and my safe place to come to. We write together and we work together some and he brings out the best in me … He makes me a better person and a better artist.”

Here’s an Instagram photo of Kellie and hubby Kyle Jacobs celebrating her birthday.

Kellie Pickler broke on to the music scene back in 2006 when she placed sixth on season 5 of American Idol. From there she signed a recording contract with 19 Recordings/BNA Records and the rest, as they say, is history.

Pickler has long been vocal about her faith, so it’s clear that although she cites these country greats as tops on her list of musical inspiration, and her family as even more important, everyone who knows anything about the country artist knows that she holds her Lord and savior highest of all. She has said many times that she’d be nowhere without her strong religious beliefs.

  • Kellie Pickler Will Headline Summer Music Festival Near Grand Rapids, MI

Kellie Pickler may not have released an album since 2013, but she’s out and about and on the move nonetheless.

The 27-year-old country music star will headline the two-day Summer Music Festival at Berlin Raceway near Grand Rapids, MI on August 16.

Pickler will join hip-hop artist and Detroit native Mike Posner in headlining the event. Other performers include Brothers Osborne, Adrian Butler, Jake Miller, and Austin Webb.

Pickler is currently traveling the country with her The Woman I Am tour and promoting the album’s limited edition vinyl LP release.

The limited release will include 1,000 copies featuring original album artwork.

According to Pickler’s website, her next official tour stop is Reno, NV on July 3.

On June 20 Pickler played an afternoon show at Country Jam 2014 in Grand Junction, CO. On June 21 she played at the Grizzly Rose in Denver.

On June 24 Pickler put on a free acoustic concert at Nervous Nellie’s waterfront restaurant in Fort Myers Beach, FL.

Besides promoting The Woman I Am, which she says is a nod to her classic country music heroes Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, and Tammy Wynette, Pickler is raising money to fight cancer, working on her fifth studio album, and squeezing in time with husband Kyle Jacobs.

Pickler married Jacobs, a fellow country music singer and songwriter, in January 2011. According to a recent post on Instagram, Jacobs and the couple’s two dogs are holding down the fort in Nashville while Pickler travels:

“I’m on the road & my hubby is in Nashville with our babies… He just sent me this pic from the studio… #PixieAndPeanut :)”

  • Kellie Pickler Plans New Album, Helps Fight Cancer

Kellie Pickler is mixing business with pleasure, again, as she teams up with her songwriter and producer husband Kyle Jacobs to create her fifth album.

This isn’t the first time the partners in life have become partners in music; the pair penned songs for Pickler’s 2013 album The Woman I Am.

“I grew up listening to traditional country music,” said Pickler in an interview. “For me, ‘The Woman I Am’ is just a collection of songs I’ve either found or written that just tell us different stories. It’s kind of like audio books, and each song is a different chapter.”

The American Idol alum and former Dancing With the Stars winner has recently teamed up with fellow DWTS participant Valerie Harper to help fight and spread the word about lung cancer.

The Mary Tyler Moore Show vet partnered with the American Lung Association and CVS Caremark to launch Lung Force, a new national movement aimed at educating the public about the disease.

    Watch Pickler in action:

Harper was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2009 and it has spread to her brain, causing the diagnosis to become terminal. Called leptomeningeal carcinomatosis, this cancer lives microscopically where the spinal fluid is.

Pickler feels close to the cause because her grandmother died from the disease. At the event, the singer performed the song “My Angel,” which was written about her late grandmother.

“She was the one that I called mom,” Pickler said in an interview. “She was diagnosed with lung cancer back in 2002 and she died instantly. She died the very next day. I got a little emotional performing a song so personal that I wrote with some friends of mine about my grandmother. Just being in the room here today with lung cancer survivors as well as other people who have lost loved ones from lung cancer, just made it more emotional.”

Pickler hasn’t revealed when she plans on dropping her new album, but fans can catch up with the singer on her tour, which features dates from now until September.

  • Kellie Pickler Performed for Troops on Christmas

Kellie Pickler spent Christmas in Afghanistan performing for U.S. troops stationed there as part of the USO Tour. The men and women at Kandahar Airfield no doubt welcomed the visit, the songs and the laughter the former American Idol contestant and Dancing With the Stars winner shared.

Prior to her Christmas show, Kellie Pickler posed for photos with the men and women at Kandahar Airfield. She visited wounded and sick troops. She saw where the military dogs were trained. And she spoke passionately about the war effort in Afghanistan.

“If I were an Afghan woman, I would hope someone would help me provide a better life for me and my children,” she said.

The country music sweetheart enjoyed some exciting new experiences while visiting Afghanistan, too. She fired a howitzer and she traveled around in Black Hawks and Chinooks, taking in the sights of Afghanistan below.

Kellie left everyone feeling warm during her 9-day visit and she even left a few of the men smitten. By Christmas Day, however, they all knew who Kellie Pickler was and what she does best–sing country music.

“There’s no place I’d rather spend Christmas,” she told them when she finally took the stage.

Kellie Pickler may have been in Afghanistan to serve the troops, but she was also mindful of what she took away from her time there. She shared some information and a photo with her followers via Twitter.

Kudos to Kellie Pickler for spending Christmas Day in Afghanistan. This young singer has the means to have spent Christmas Day anywhere in the world, being waited on hand and foot or entertaining her family members and friends lavishly. Instead she gave of herself to those who deserve some extra Christmas cheer. This was Kellie’s seventh USO tour. She serves as a fine example for performers all over the U.S.

  • Kellie Pickler, In Bob Hope Style, Sings To Troops

One of country music’s most popular singers and American Idol’s finalist Kellie Pickler is giving back to our men overseas.

You had to wonder who would fill those big Bob Hope shoes. A man who dedicated a big part of his life entertaining the troops. From the Bob Hope website: “Bob Hope’s unwavering commitment to the morale of America’s servicemen and women is entertainment history, indeed, world history. Many say ‘legend.’ For nearly six decades, be the country at war or at peace, Bob, with a band of Hollywood gypsies, traveled the globe to entertain our service men and women.”

Pickler appears to have made it her mission to spread a little Christmas cheer to the men and women in the military and in doing so, has a great start to filling those shoes.

The sweet country singer has traveled seven times overseas to entertain our military troops. This Christmas 2013 trip marks her seventh USO Tour, scheduled for nine days – hitting two countries and performing five shows, as well as spending time with troops. The USO tours campaign, “Every Moment Counts.”

“Not every Christmas do you get to fist bump a soldier while dangling your feet off the back of a Chinook flying in Afghanistan. Merry Christmas from the Middle East.” Pickler posted on her Facebook Page.

“The USO tours and programs I’ve been a part of have definitely been the highlight of my career, so I’m honored to join the USO in helping to raise awareness about the many precious moments that our troops and their families sacrifice due to their commitment and service to our country,” Pickler said in a statement. “Every Moment Counts is especially close to my heart because it not only recognizes their personal sacrifices, but gives Americans the opportunity to thank our troops with a special gift of a moment.”

  • Kellie Pickler Does Duet With Fans In Afghanistan

Donning camouflage leggings and sparkling boots, country music singer Kellie Pickler took to the stage in Afghanistan on Christmas day to sing to U.S. troops.

The 27 year old “American Idol” finalist and winner of “Dancing With the Stars” is among America’s favorite current country singers. As troops spend their thirteenth Christmas in Afghanistan, Pickler visited them for the holidays to show her appreciation. While there, she shook hands, handed out gifts, took pictures, and even got a few of the fans involved in the singing while she performed for them:

But blonde bombshells and virgin eggnog in the midst of war aren’t all that struck U.S. soldiers as surreal during their stay. The bases of which the troops are in charge are slowly disintegrating; the U.S. is planning to withdraw them imminently and the chances of spending another Christmas there are reduced – especially if an agreement is signed with the Afghan government. Meanwhile, those who arrived ready for war, found themselves in a far different scenario than anticipated.

While waiting in line for Kellie Pickler on Christmas Eve, Spec. Jeremy Kortuem shared with the Washington Post, “We came here for the war, but we arrived just in time for it to be over.”

Spec. James Pegram also was surprised to arrive in the middle of more commercialization and less combat. “I was expecting more bang-bang and less TGI Fridays,” he admitted, referencing the surrounding fast food establishments, athletic arenas, and miscellaneous shops.

However, for the families of Americans who have lost their lives in the past ten days alone – like the six who perished in the Zabul providence helicopter crash, and for those involved in the U.S. embassy that was hit by rockets on Christmas morning – this deployment likely seems a bit less anticlimactic.

In the midst of such extremes, a country singer did what she could. She arrived to offer American troops a temporary escape from the painful reality of war, and they certainly were grateful. Perhaps not everyone present knew Kellie Picker’s name prior to her scheduled arrival, but they definitely do now.

  • Kellie Pickler Does Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

Kellie Pickler lit up the chilly streets of New York City on Thursday as she sang in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Riding aboard the NHL float replete with a fully functioning ice rink, Kellie didn’t skate, but she did sing and celebrate. Kellie’s new album, The Woman I Am, debuted at Number 4 on the Billboard Top Country Albums Chart, and that’s definitely worthy of a celebration.

The Woman I Am features 12 new Kellie Pickler songs, including A Little Bit Gypsy, which she shared with fans at the parade on Thanksgiving Day. Pickler co-wrote three songs on the album, which was produced by Luke Wooten and Frank Liddell.

If you missed Kellie’s parade performance, you needn’t fret, as she’ll be on TV again December 2nd. She will perform on the CMA Country Christmas special on ABC, singing The Man with the Bag. Her version of that Christmas song is available for purchase now.

Twitter fans loved seeing Kellie Pickler at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Fortunately Kellie Pickler and the rest of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade performers were accompanied by the grand balloons the parade is known for. There was some speculation that the balloons might not go up on Thursday due to a prediction of strong winds. However their show went on–as did Kellie’s. She likely felt like she was soaring high above the clouds with The Elf on the Shelf, Spider-Man and The Wizard of Oz–as she sang for her fans and celebrated what will no doubt become an even bigger hit album for the beloved country singer.
