  • Katy Perry Shares How She Learned to Love Herself After Painful Breakups

Katy Perry has been proactive in dealing with the emotional aftermath following her divorce from Russell Brand in 2012 and her breakup with John Mayer in February.

Instead of pining away and lingering in the post-breakup blues, Perry got out of the doldrums by working on her inner-self through therapy sessions. She has walked away from those sessions with a renewed outlook about herself and future relationships.

“What I’ve learned is that if you don’t have the foundation of self-love first, you really have nowhere to pull love from to give it away,” the 29-year-old singer told Harper’s Bazaar in an interview for its October issue.

“I had to learn about taking care of myself before I could take care of others. I want to mommy everyone. I want to take care of them. I want to save them, and I forget myself in the meantime. I learned that through therapy,” she said.

Perry said she also learned that if she can’t find someone who will love her for her strengths and business savvy, it’s just not worth it. According to the magazine, the powerhouse entertainer has sold more than 13 million albums and 72 million digital singles.

“A lot of times I’ve ended up with people who have been intimidated by me, unfortunately. They say they’re not, but it comes out in the long run. They’re threatened, or there’s resentment because they don’t know how to handle it,” she said. “I’m looking for someone who’s inspired and could be inspiring with me.”

While she possesses a positive outlook for a future love interest, Perry revealed that she’s not really into the whole dating scene.

“Well I’m not really on the street,” she says. “It’s usually just friends of friends. We have a lot of dinner parties. I’m definitely not on Tinder, even though I joke about it.”

  • Jennifer Lawrence, Miley Cyrus Set Guinness World Records

Although Jennifer Lawrence is presently in the news for her leaked nude photos, she has set a different kind of world record as well–at least according to Guinness World Records. The site and book that lauds everyone from actors and singers to the woman with the world’s longest fingernails has awarded the 2015 Guinness World Record for highest-grossing action heroine to the Hunger Games star for her work in that franchise as the ever-popular Katniss Everdeen. The franchise itself has grossed more than $1.52 billion internationally, which definitely plays a huge role in Lawrence achieving her fame.

The actual book, The 2015 Guinness Book of World Records, is set to hit bookstores and online booksellers on September 11th, and names The Hunger Games: Catching Fire as the highest-grossing post-apocalyptic movie–having earned more than $854 million worldwide.

While giving credit where credit is due, Jennifer Lawrence isn’t the only one among the Hollywood set to receive accolades in the book. ‘Wrecking Ball’ singer Miley Cyrus made her way into the records as well. Following her televised twerking debut at the 2103 VMAs, she became the most searched-for pop star on the internet. That might also have something to do with Miley frequently posting half-nude photos of herself–don’t you think? This Instagram clip is just one example of why Miley Cyrus’s internet popularity has far outlived her initial twerk.

Certainly other celebrities have made their way into the book that comes out next week as well. Shakira will soon be lauded for receiving the most ‘likes’ on Facebook. This is no doubt due in part to her stint on The Voice as a fun and funny–not to mention exceedingly talented and very sexy–persona and coach on the singing competition show. Katy Perry makes the grade by having the most Twitter followers in the world–an impressive 56 million, and the film The Wolf of Wall Street even gets its own world record award this year. It makes the grade for having the ‘most expletives in a movie: the characters curse 687 times, or an average of 3.81 swear words per minute.’

Congratulations are no doubt in order for Jennifer Lawrence, Miley Cyrus, and the rest of the 2015 recipients of Guinness World Record awards. And while this recognition does absolutely nothing to further their careers or their popularity, perhaps one day they can show their grandkids that they made it into the often-entertaining and sometimes rather bizarre collection of records.

Will you be checking out Jennifer Lawrence and her fellow record-setters when The 2015 Guinness Book of World Records is released this coming Thursday?

  • Katy Perry Talks Education And ‘Make Roar Happen’

Katy Perry is an accomplished singer with a successful career.

However, many fans may not know the road she traveled to chase her dreams.

At the age of 15, the Teenage Dream singer actually dropped out of high school. Although she earned her GED, she recently admitted she regrets not finishing school and furthering her education.

According to Yahoo! Celebrity, the 29-year-old singer opened up about her views on the importance of education. “I’m kind of bummed at this stage that I didn’t have a great education because I could really use that these days,” she said.

The “Roar” singer went on to share a few details about her childhood. She explained how her education was often interrupted due to her parents’ hectic schedules. They spent a lot of their time traveling to start new churches, which would often interfere with her academic progress.

“I was being pulled out of school even in the middle of school and sometimes being home-schooled,” Perry said. “Sometimes we were sent to these really half-Christian, half-education, I-don’t-know-what-they-were schools.”

However, she did mention on teacher in particular who made an impact on her life. Perry recounted how her vocal teacher Agatha Danoff played a major role in the development of her craft.

“There was a teacher named Agatha Danoff who was my vocal teacher and music teacher at the Music Academy of the West. It was very fancy and I didn’t come from any money … and she always used to give me a break on my lessons,” she recalled. “I owe her a lot of credit and I appreciate that she looked out for me when I didn’t have enough money to pay.”

Teachers like Danoff are motivating factors for Perry’s “Make Roar Happen” campaign. “She believed in me, so this is how I could pay it forward from that one experience,” Perry explained.

  • Katy Perry Bemoans Her Childhood Education, Campaigns For Teachers

Katy Perry wishes the education she received as a child would have better prepared her for life. Instead of letting it get her down, the Firework singer has decided to use her international pop star status to promote educational opportunities across America.

In a recent interview with Yahoo! about her “Make Roar Happen” campaign, which raises money for teachers through DonorsChoose.org, the Roar singer said she wished her “really half-Christian, half-education, I-don’t-know-what-they-were schools” had prepared her better.

“I’m kind of bummed at this stage that I didn’t have a great education because I could really use that these days,” she said.

“Make Roar Happen” is a $1 million campaign to raise funds to purchase school supplies for “thousands” of classrooms in cities where Perry’s Prismatic World Tour stops.

Perry said her travels on tour allow her to further her own education.

“I’ve learned to educate myself at this stage and how to continue my education at any age,” she said. “I’m going on 30, and I’m still very thirsty for information. On tour, we go to different museums and get to soak up all kinds of different cultural experiences.”

While Perry wasn’t exactly poor growing up, her family couldn’t always afford the little extras like singing lessons. The Prism singer gave a shoutout to one of her own teachers who made the extra effort to help the budding singer. It was the generosity of her teacher that inspired Perry to undertake the “Make Roar Happen” campaign.

“There was a teacher named Agatha Danoff who was my vocal teacher and music teacher at the Music Academy of the West,” she said. “It was very fancy and I didn’t come from any money … and she always used to give me a break on my lessons. I owe her a lot of credit and I appreciate that she looked out for me when I didn’t have enough money to pay. She believed in me, so this is how I could pay it forward from that one experience.”

The singer has another cause that is dear to her heart — Special Olympics. Perry said she recently performed at the White House for the 46th anniversary of the Special Olympics and was moved, honored and filled with a sense of purpose by the opportunity.

“It was an incredible honor and a learning experience,” she said. “I was very moved by one girl in particular who came up to me and was telling me that she wanted to be seen not for her obstacle, but she wanted to be seen as a mother that she is, a daughter that she is, a sister – all these other things that she is, not just because she has an obstacle in her life. It was very touching to me … I felt a sense of purpose and I don’t always feel that way.”

  • Katy Perry Says She Did Not Have A Great Education In Her Younger Years

Global pop superstar Katy Perry has sold out tours and penned songs that topped the charts, but she still has one small regret that she wishes she could change. Perry recently told Yahoo! that she wished she had had a better education when she was younger. She said, “I’m kind of bummed at this stage that I didn’t have a great education because I could really use that these days.”

Perry grew up with pastor parents who constantly moved her from place to place, wherever they were starting churches. She said that she had been either home-schooled or was often pulled out from schools she described as “half-Christian, half-education, I-don’t-know-what-they-were schools.”

The Prism singer will turn 30 this October, but she still tries to take every opportunity to learn about new things and increase her general knowledge. While on tour, she often visits museums and tries to immerse in local cultural experiences at each location. “I’ve learned to educate myself at this stage and how to continue my education at any age,” she said. “I’m going on 30 and I’m still very thirsty for information.”

Despite Perry’s feeling that she lacked a solid educational base, she maintains that good teachers helped her push to achieve success. She spoke about her vocal teacher Agatha Danoff, who taught Perry while she attended the Music Academy of the West, which she could hardly afford. “I owe her a lot of credit and I appreciate that she looked out for me when I didn’t have enough money to pay,” Perry said of Danoff, who used to give her breaks on lessons when she needed them.

Perry is currently promoting her fundraising campaign “Make Roar Happen,” which aims to benefit teachers through donations at DonorsChoose.org. Her project target of $1 million is set to fund school supplies for classrooms in the cities at which her Prismatic World Tour stops.

  • Katy Perry: Church Upbringing Ruined Her Education

Katy Perry is successful by most measures. She is certainly a celebrity. She has hit songs, She has money and recognition.

But Katy Perry carries a concern that she is not very well educated, or at least not as well as she’d like to be.

“I’m kind of bummed at this stage that I didn’t have a great education because I could really use that these days,” she told Yahoo.

It turns out that Perry dropped out of high school during her freshman year. If this is what dropping out gets you, she’s not exactly a poster child for dropout prevention. But that’s not how she sees it.

“I’ve learned to educate myself at this stage and how to continue my education at any age,” she said. “I’m going on 30 and I’m still very thirsty for information. On tour, we go to different museums and get to soak up all kinds of different cultural experiences.”

So why did Katy end up coming up short in the education department when she was younger? A lot of it had to do with her parents’ work as church-planting pastors. They moved around a lot, and it took a toll on Katy’s schooling.

“I was being pulled out of school even in the middle of school and sometimes being home-schooled. Sometimes we were sent to these really half-Christian, half-education, I-don’t-know-what-they-were schools,” she explained.

Sometimes home-schooling is a good alternative for kids who just can’t do well in the schools where they live. But a lot of religious folks are pulling their kids form schools to get them away from what they see as harmful influences. They feel they can educate their children just as well from home. In fact, 91 percent of homeschooled students had parents who said that a concern about the environment of other schools was an important reason for homeschooling their child.

Vyckie Garrison, a former evangelical who home-schooled her own kids, explains how she sees this rising phenomenon.

“There is an atmosphere of real terror among some evangelicals. They are horrified by the fact that Obama is president, and they see the New Atheist movement as a vocal, in-your-face threat. Plus, they are obsessed with the End Times, and believe that the Apocalypse could happen any day now… They see a demon on every corner.

“We home-schooled because we wanted to protect our children from what we viewed as the total secularization of America. We listened to people like Rush Limbaugh, who told us that America was in the clutches of evil liberal feminist atheists.”

But there has been a cost of this home-schooling fervor. Parents often refuse to report information that could be used to get good statistical data on the success of home-schooling. But anecdotally, there are plenty of stories like Katy Perry’s to suggest that home-schooled kids are getting the short end of the education stick.

“It was a real struggle to do the basics,” Garrison says. “So it didn’t take long for my kids to fall far behind. One of my daughters could not read at 11 years old.”

  • Katy Perry On Relationships: Dating Non-Famous Guys, And Love Lessons Learned

Katy Perry has definitely had her fair share of highly publicized relationships.

The Prism singer, who was briefly married to comedian-actor Russell Brand, also dated John Mayer. Several media outlets have also linked the “Roar” singer to Josh Groban and her longtime friend actor Robert Pattinson.

Although most of the her public relationships haven’t been fairy tales, she admits she doesn’t believe non-famous guys are for her either. During an interview with Rolling Stone, the 29-year-old singer shared her perspective of love and relationships.

Perry also explained the benefits of being in a relationship with someone who understands the ins and outs of the entertainment industry as opposed to someone who doesn’t.

“I’ve done that before,” she said. “It’s not that they have to be famous, although there’s a level of understanding when they’re in the same business, you know?”

She went on to share a few examples of the understanding she would probably with a significant other in the entertainment industry.

“They understand what it means when you’re tired from a show or the tour’s exhausting you or if an interview went wrong—they know all the ins and outs, so you can just walk in to the house with a certain face and they understand, you know? Rather than, like, having to explain everything and that takes two, three hours.”

Perry also delved a little deeper into the discussion when she touched on some of the personal lessons she’s learned through marriage and divorce. “Now I know—first and foremost, self-love, and then give love away,” she explained. “Back then it was mostly just me giving love away with no self-love. I went through my ‘return of Saturn,’ is what they call it.”

The Teenage Dream singer even gave her opinion of fame. Surprisingly, she has absolutely no desire for it and actually feels it’s “disgusting.”

“Fame is, I think, disgusting,” she shares. “And it’s really hard to separate your public life from your personal life. I only ever just wanted to make music and be on stage and play, and offer up my perception of how I view the world, through the songs that I write. But then there’s a lot of different things that come with it, and I call them trade-offs.”

  • Katy Perry Opens Up About What She Learned From Divorce

Divorce is never easy for anyone, and Katy Perry is no different. In a recent interview for her August cover issue of Rolling Stone, Perry shared a few lessons she learned from her divorce from Russell Brand in 2011.

“Now I know—first and foremost, self-love, and then give love away,” she said. “Back then it was mostly just me giving love away. I went through my ‘return of Saturn,’ is what they call it. It’s this kind of astrological thing they talk about, when the planet Saturn comes to teach you lessons, and either you reject them or accept them. And I accepted those lessons that I needed to learn. And if you reject them, it’s your midlife crisis that comes around at 50.”

The Roar singer has had her share of celebrity romances — from long-term relationships with John Mayer and Brand to fleeting hook-ups with Josh Groban and Robert Pattinson — and knows what it can be like to try to nuture a relationship in the public eye. Even so, Perry says it is unlikely she would date anyone who wasn’t famous.

“I’ve done that before,” she said “It’s not that they have to be famous, although there’s a level of understanding when they’re in the same business, you know?”

The 29-year-old said she believes only a famous person could really understand what it means to live in the spotlight.

“They understand what it means when you’re tired from a show or the tour’s exhausting you or if an interview went wrong—they know all the ins and outs, so you can just walk in to the house with a certain face and they understand, you know? said Perry. “Rather than, like, having to explain everything and that takes two, three hours.”

  • One Death, 20 Overdoses at Mad Decent Block Party

During an outdoor music festival organized by record label Mad Decent in Columbia, Maryland on Friday, one fan died of an apparent drug overdose, and an additional 20 were transported to an area hospital.

Tyler Fox Viscardi, 20, of Raleigh, North Carolina, died after being rushed to the hospital at 9 p.m. EDT after overdosing at the all-day Mad Decent Block Party, the Howard County Police Department said in a statement.

The concert took place at the Merriweather Post Pavillion, roughly 20 miles southwest of Baltimore, and featured pop and dance artists including
Cashmere Cat, Flux Pavilion, Diplo, Sleigh Bells, Wave Racer and Wolfgang Gartner.

Here is the Mad Decent Block Party 2014 Trailer:

Authorities have not yet determined which drugs were in Viscardi’s system at the time of his death, and another 17-year-old from Virginia is presently in critical condition, after suffering another suspected overdose at the concert. Nineteen other concertgoers were hospitalized with suspected drug-related problems.

Police also issued roughly 50 under-age drinking citations during the festival and made three arrests, including one for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

Mad Decent issued a statement on the incident – “We were shocked and saddened when we heard the news from yesterday’s event at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Maryland and our hearts go out to everyone impacted by this right now. We are waiting along with everyone else for more information.”

The next Mad Decent Block Party is scheduled for Friday, August 8 in Philadelphia.

In related Mad Decent news, pop superstar Katy Perry left some people scratching their heads after she was spotted with rapper Riff Raff back in April, and then again with Mad Decent label head Diplo later that month.

Incidentally, video edits of Mr. Raff’s song “Tip Toe Wing In My Jawwdinz” from his new record Neon Icon have become an internet meme:

  • Katy Perry Goes Out For Sushi With Broadway King Neil Patrick Harris

No one can deny that Katy Perry is a musical sensation. So it makes sense that a star of her caliber may be headed towards one of the most defining locations for music in the United States.

    Broadway.

Last Friday, Vulture made a report about the director and writer of the movie, Clueless, Amy Heckerling. Her biggest project these days is a musical adaptation of the movie for Broadway. She very interested in having the pop singer to play the lead. “Katy Perry has expressed interest, and I love her to death,” she said.

What is a pop star to do when you might be headed to Broadway to act and sing in a major musical? Why go out and have sushi with Neil Patrick Harris, of course!

But afterward you must tweet about the experience. Harris did:

    And so did Perry:

Speaking of #Fancy. Perry’s biggest competition for the role on Broadway may be the creator of the viral music video, Fancy, Iggy Azalea, who happened to make a tribute to Clueless in the video. “It looked like they had more money for the video than I had for the movie,” Heckerling said when she saw it, “But I was extremely flattered and I thought she was amazing. And whoever did the costumes, I don’t know how they did that.”

When asked about casting in the upcoming musical, she said “Maybe Iggy wants to do it!”

The Broadway life may be too big of a commitment for a pop star like Perry. And if there’s anyone who can fill her in on the Broadway lifestyle, it’s the King of Broadway himself, Neil Patrick Harris. Currently he has the lead in a revival of Hedwig and The Angry Inch, for which he won a Tony.

  • Katy Perry Makes It “Roar” in Manhattan

Katy Perry is continuing her efforts in her partnership with Staples to fund classroom projects for teachers around the nation. “Make Roar Happen” has helped many teachers get desperately needed money to fill in the gaps where independent school district funds run thin.

The latest recipients of Katy Perry’s and Staples’ good deeds are in Manhattan where 144 local classroom projects have been funded. The money is provided through Staples’ $1 million donation to Donorschoose.org. The funds will help 103 teachers take care of classroom needs and will impact over 11,000 students in the Manhattan area.

Katy Perry has been a proud and outspoken partner of Staples and is thrilled to help teachers.

She said of the partnership, “I’m glad to partner with Staples on my Prismatic World Tour to raise awareness and funds for DonorsChoose.org, and to remind my fans that a small gesture can have a huge impact on the very basic materials classrooms need for teachers to help students reach their full potential.”

So far, the “Make Roar Happen” initiative has provided $1 million to DonorsChoose.org, which has helped fund more than 450,000 classroom projects for teachers and impacted more than 11 million students across the nation.

Katy Perry isn’t the only one thrilled with the impact that the partnership has created. Alison Corcoran, senior vice president of North American stores and online marketing with Staples, said, “We are so thrilled to have Katy Perry supporting ‘Make Roar Happen’ and look forward to working together with DonorsChoose.org to ensure teachers have the supplies they need. Our recent survey found almost three-quarters of parents with teens agree that teachers in their communities inspire their students so it’s imperative we support these everyday heroes.”

That teachers are severely underfunded is no shock to anyone, but did you know that most teachers spend an average of $408.71 of their own money each year to provide supplies and materials for their classrooms that aren’t provided by the schools? That is surprising.

You too can help Katy Perry “Make Roar Happen” for local teachers. You can give $1 to DonorsChoose.org at nearby Staples stores or online at www.staples.com/makeroarhappen.

    Such a great cause!

  • Katy Perry Teams Up With Staples To Help Classrooms

Katy Perry has always walked a fine line between candy-colored princess and naughty nymph, so it’s not really surprising that she’s still mixing the two in her new Prismatic tour.

The pop star has had us all singing along to “Roar” for months now, and her tour opened to successful reviews. With no shortage of breathtaking stage effects and costume changes, Perry is staying within her comfort zone for a whirlwind world tour, complete with a fireworks show and 3-D projections.

The tour isn’t just about the music and light show, however; Perry has partnered with Staples to help fund DonorsChoose.org, a program that aids teachers get what they need for classrooms on a seriously tight budget.

“I’m glad to partner with Staples on my Prismatic World Tour to raise awareness and funds for DonorsChoose.org, and to remind my fans that a small gesture can have a huge impact on the very basic materials classrooms need for teachers to help students reach their full potential,” said Perry.

Perry may be a worldwide pop star, but that doesn’t mean she’s got a big ego; during a recent performance while on tour, she accidentally smacked herself in the face with the mic, then called herself out on it with a laugh.

“I just hit myself in the face with my own microphone. f that’s not a humbling move, I don’t know what is.”

  • John Mayer Wants To Create A Comedy Reality Show

John Mayer is well known for crooning love songs and dating Hollywood starlets, but now he’s looking to add reality TV to the mix? Us Weekly reveals this week that John Mayer, a confessed lover of reality television, has the perfect new show, and he really wants it to be made.

The concept? A reality competition show called “My Funny Friend.” John gives Us Weekly the details: “Everyone thinks they have a buddy who’s so hysterical, he or she should be in comedy. People nominate their friends, and they go through a series of evaluations to determine if they’re actually funny or not.”

John thinks his show has potential due to its “human-interest angle.” “Think how much joy there is in seeing a friend happy!’” Mayer says. John may be forgetting the other side of the coin, here: what about those deemed unfunny? “It’s one thing watching someone sing badly, but it’s another thing someone being told that they’re sense of humour is a load of crap. It’s a bit personal,” Heat World says, who thinks the show would be “awful.”

Awful or not, John’s really gunning for it to happen, and even wants Anthony Bourdain to host. John admits he’s somewhat obsessed with reality television, and doesn’t think anyone should feel ashamed for watching shows like The Bachelor. “I don’t even feel like it’s my fault for liking it,” he says. “It’s not a guilty pleasure. It’s designed to be a pleasure.”

Perhaps John should just stick to the music; his folk-rock cover of Beyonce’s “XO” has gone viral in the last week. The cover, which he did on a whim while on tour in Australia, has been officially recorded and released and is already No. 13 on this week’s Billboard charts (Beyonce’s version peaked at No. 45). Listen to the cover below:

Mayer’s last successful single was “Who You Love,” which he recorded with now ex-girlfriend Katy Perry. Although the split is still fresh for both of them, there seems to be no hard feelings, as we’ve previously reported. “I have a lot of respect for [John] still, and I know it goes both ways,” she said. “There’s no bad blood, but I’m sure there will be inspired songs.”

  • Katy Perry Being Sued For Copyright Infringement

Katy Perry is being sued by Christian musicians who are claiming that the hit song “Dark Horse” infringes on their copyright of a 2008 song.

Marcus Gray and Chike Ojukwu of St. Louis as well as Lecrae Moore of Atlanta and Emanuel Lambert of Aldan, Pennsylvania filed the lawsuit on Tuesday.

The lawsuit also names several capitol records members and says that Dark Horse was based on the Christian song Joyful Noise.

Joyful Noise has won awards in the Christian and Gospel music world, but the gospel group who sings it now claims that it has been “irreparably tarnished by its association with the witchcraft, paganism, black magic and Illuminati imagery” of Perry’s song Dark Horse.

The song Dark Horse has caused problems for Perry before. Several months ago, a Change.org petition was created to make the singer remove imagery of a man wearing a pendant bearing the word “Allah” while standing in fire from the Dark Horse music video.

Several people in the Muslim community felt that the imagery was a display of blasphemy. The petition was successful, and the pendant was removed from the video.

Perry has not yet released a statement about the lawsuit. Do you think Dark Horse was based on the Christian song Joyful Noise?

  • Is Katy Perry Scared of Getting Serious with Robert Pattinson?

Is Katy Perry Scared of Getting Serious with Robert Pattinson?

Katy Perry reportedly has lots of apprehension where Robert Pattinson is concerned. Although the two have been friends for quite sometime, a number of sources say that the “Dark Horse” singer is petrified of the possibility of getting hurt again.

According to Cover Media, Perry and the famed Twilight actor have maintained a solid friendship for several years. Pattinson has had an on-again, off-again relationship with his Twilight co-star, Kristen Stewart, while the Perry was married to comedian-actor Russell Brand.

Now, there’s speculation that things are slowly progressing beyond the friend zone. An inside source close to Perry spoke with LOOK about their alleged budding romance. A source explained that the Teenage Dream singer is interested in Pattinson, but afraid being seriously involved.

“She’s mad about Rob but is so terrified of getting serious and hurt again,” a source told the British publication. “I think that’s why she’s trying not to get too involved romantically. She’ll also be super cautious of becoming one half of a celebrity couple yet again.”

The source also dished about Pattinson’s interest in taking things further with Perry.”Rob’s behavior makes it clear to anyone who sees him with Katy that he’s interested in taking their friendship further.”

Lately, the two have been seen together quite frequently. Several media outlets have reported that the two have been very close, often rumored to be “hugging and kissing” in public. The insider went on to reveal that the two don’t go a day without talking to each other. Despite their busy schedules, they find a way to communicate either by phone or “via Skype.”

“The chemistry is undeniable. Rob can be surrounded by women but seems only to have eyes for Katy. They’re very close,” the insider added. “From the sound of it they talk every single day, by phone, by Skype, by text.”

Will Katy Perry\ and Robert Pattinson take a chance at love? Only time will tell! Fans will just have to see how it all plays out!

Katy Perry has gotten waxed. No–she hasn’t been waxed. Who would report on Katy getting her legs or armpits or even worse waxed? Katy Perry is now forever enshrined in wax at Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum in Washington, D.C. She’s in the nation’s capital for three months before she makes her way down south to Orlando.

The Roar singer is just the latest addition to the wax museum which sees lots of fans come in for ‘selfies’ with the stars they can sometimes only hope to meet in person. Last night in Washington, D.C., however, the real Katy Perry performed at the Verizon Center in front of a sold out crowd. And to those who couldn’t get tickets–well, Katy’s in town for three months.

The real Katy Perry managed to pose for some fun Washington, D.C. photos while she was in town–some of which she shared with her followers on Instagram.

Here’s Katy pretending she can reach the top of the Washington Monument.

Here she is with Vice President Joe Biden.

And just a few days prior to her wax unveiling and her concert she took this selfie with Hillary Clinton. In fact, she offered to write Hillary’s theme song if she runs for president. She met the former Secretary of State at a book signing in D.C.

Katy Perry shared her political side while in Washington, D.C., telling concert-goers that any one of them could run the country.

“You know what’s so great about America?” she asked the crowd.

“Any one of you can be president now.”

Maybe that could be Katy’s next gig. She could throw her hat in the political arena and see what comes of it. These days–who knows?

She has a while to decide anyway since she’s sticking around D.C. for the next three months. Oh, wait. That’s wax Katy. Have you ever been to Madame Tussaud’s? How much do you suppose wax Katy Perry resembles the real deal?

  • Katy Perry Caught Kissing Robert Pattinson, The Rumors Continue

Rumors are spreading about Katy Perry and Robert Pattinson’s blooming relationship. The two have been linked recently, but both of them denied the romance rumors. They have been friends for years, but have now been spending more time together.

Last week, 28-year-old Pattinson attended the premiere of his movie The Rover in Los Angeles. Perry, 29, also attended the event wearing a black lace and sequin mini dress.

A source reported that Pattinson’s eyes lit up the moment he saw Perry. “They hugged and kissed. He kept kissing her the entire night,” the source revealed.

In an interview with Elle Magazine UK, Perry dispelled the romance rumors by saying, “Okay, so here’s the proof there was never anything going on with me and Robert Pattinson… I fart in front of him.” She also said that one of her rules is that she never farts in front of a man she’s dating. “He’s my bud, I’m like his big sister,” she continued. “The other day, I said, ‘One of the things I’m most proud of is not sleeping with you, Robert.’ And that’s true,” Perry said.

Pattinson has revealed that he is over his ex-girlfriend Kristen Stewart. The pair broke up last year. Perry was there to support Pattinson after the breakup, and sources said that Pattinson was there for Perry when she ended her relationship with ex-husband Russell Brand.

Pattinson, who is from England, now spends more time in Los Angeles. “I’ve really grown to like L.A. and I guess it’s my home at the moment,” he said. Perry also resides in Los Angeles and that may be the reason they are spending more time together. Recently, they were photographed together at the Coachella music festival.

Despite being seen together several times, Pattinson insists that he is single at the moment.

  • Katy Perry Opens Up About John Mayer Split

Earlier this year, Katy Perry separated from her on-again-off-again boyfriend John Mayer.

During a recent interview with Chelsea Handler, for the July issue of Cosmopolitan magazine, the pop superstar finally opened up about the split and revealed there are no hard feelings.

“Sometimes you have to go through all this sh*t to get your grips on life. You have to go through the mud in order to find that peaceful place,” Perry told Handler.

Katy explained that she doesn’t harbor any resentment for John and still respects him and his music. “I know it sounds really hippie sh*t, but I’m living in the now and not fantasizing about the future or [being] torn up about the past. I’m super Eckhart Tolle. I have a lot of respect for [John] still, and I know it goes both ways,” she said. “There’s no bad blood, but I’m sure there will be inspired songs.”

Perry was previously married to Russell Brand, but their marriage ended in 2012, after only 14 months. Although, she has had to failed relationships in two years, Katy still remains hopeful that she will find the right guy for her; a guy that will love her for who she is. “I guess I happen to be attracted to high-frequency men,” she joked.

“I like when I can really be myself, wear less makeup, have off-color humor right off the bat,” she revealed. “When I can scare them with the truth and they’re not scared. I think when I’m myself is when I’m probably the most attractive to someone else.”

  • Katy Perry Stuns In ‘Birthday’ Performance

Katy Perry performed her latest hit Birthday at the Billboard Music Awards Sunday in typical Perry fashion.

The Roar singer held her “Birthday” bash from the Newcastle Metro Radio Arena during the awards ceremony, which happened live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Donning a green-colored do, Perry invited a surprised fan who was celebrating her birthday to join her onstage. Channeling Peter Pan, Perry then flew away from the cake and backup dancers on the arena’s platform, riding a zipline over the audience in a bunch of balloons reminiscent of the Pixar film, Up.

Birthday is the latest single from Perry‘s third studio album PRISM. Debuting at No. 1 when it was released in October, the single moved up four spots to No. 25 on this week’s Hot 100 chart. Other PRISM singles, Roar and Dark Horse — have already hit the No. 1 spot.

Another unlikely performer was Michael Jackson, or rather, a hologram of the King of Pop.

The controversial use of Jackson’s likeness was battled out in court, but a federal judge allowed the Billboard Music Awards to go ahead with its plans to use the hologram during the awards show.

Perry was just one of the many stunning performances at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards. Shakira, Florida Georgia Line, Ariana Grande, 5 Seconds of Summer, and Iggy Azalea each took a turn wowing the audience.

Justin Timberlake beat out Perry to become the 2014 Billboard Music Top Artist. Miley Cyrus, Imagine Dragons and Bruno Mars were the other contenders.

Timberlake’s humor came out backstage when he posted a little celebratory dance:

  • Katy Perry To Perform Alongside Michael Jackson’s Hologram At Billboard Music Awards

Katy Perry is still one of the best pop stars around despite debuting more than 10 years ago. Now she, alongside others, may make history tonight at the Billboard Music Awards.

It’s being reported that a federal judge has allowed the Billboard Music Awards to go ahead with its plans to use a Michael Jackson hologram during the awards show. We don’t know what the hologram will be performing, but it will be the first time the King of Pop has been resurrected using the technology. It won’t be the first time a famous music star has been resurrected though as Coachella had a hologram of Tupac perform back in 2012.

Resurrecting public figures through holograms is still a little weird, but Jackson’s hologram will be in good company during the Billboard Music Awards. Katy Perry, Lorde and Thicke will be performing on site at the MGM Grand Garden Arena while Miley Cyrus will be performing remotely from England. Cyrus is currently touring in the country as part of her Bangerz tour and is currently in the running for the top Hot 100 song with Wrecking Ball.

Barring Cyrus, who is performing remotely, it’s very likely that we’ll see either Perry, Lorde or Thicke performing alongside the Jackson hologram. At Coachella, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg performed alongside hologram Tupac without missing a beat.

While the two haven’t performed together, Lady Gaga has had Japanese virtual pop star Hatsune Miku open her ArtRave shows this summer:

If you want to see Michael Jackson’s hologram and the rest of the Billboard lineup, you can catch the awards show Sunday night at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
