  • George Clooney’s Touching Tribute to Wife Amal Clooney at the Golden Globes Puts Men Everywhere to Shame

Women around the world swooned at George Clooney’s remarks for his new bride, Amal Clooney, while accepting his Lifetime Achievement Award at the 72nd Golden Globes ceremony Sunday.

“I had a pretty good year myself and I’m not just referring to the fabulous reviews of The Monuments Men,” said Clooney. “It’s a humbling thing when you find someone to love. Even better when you’ve been waiting your whole life… Amal, whatever alchemy brought us together, I couldn’t be prouder to be your husband.”

Clooney accepted the award from Julianna Margulies and Don Cheadle in the tuxedo he wore for his wedding to the international human rights attorney.

In a hilarious moment among many, hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, commented on the famous couple’s wedding during their opening bit, highlighting Amal’s accomplishments and Clooney’s award.

“Amal is a human-rights lawyer who worked on the Enron case, an advisor to Kofi Annan regarding Syria and was selected for a three-person UN commission investigating rules-of-war violations in the Gaza Strip. So tonight, her husband is getting a lifetime achievement award,” said Fey.

Clooney, 53, has been nominated for a Golden Globe 13 times and has won three other Golden Globes – for his work in 2000’s O Brother, Where Art Thou?, 2005’s Syriana and 2011’s The Descendants.

  • Julianna Margulies ‘Thrilled’ For George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin’s Upcoming Wedding

Julianna Margulies is super happy for her former ER co-star George Clooney and his fiancé, Amal Alamuddin, on their upcoming nuptials.

The 48-year-old Good Wife star shared her excitement for the couple Sunday at a Variety and Women in Film’s Emmys party.

“I’m thrilled!” Margulies told E! News at Gracias Madre in West Hollywood where the party took place. “She’s a great girl.”

Like all of Clooney’s friends, Margulies refused to elaborate on any details she might be privy to on the upcoming Italian wedding.

The 53-year-old actor and Alamuddin‘s most likely scenario for their wedding is an intimate affair at Clooney’s Lake Como getaway home, Villa Oleandra, in Laglio.

“George has always loved Como, he finds it very peaceful and relaxing and now Amal has fallen in love with the area as well,” a source told E! News last week. “They want to start their married life there with the beautiful lake as a backdrop.”

If E!‘s source is to be believed, it’s unlikely Margulies, who will attend tonight’s Emmys with her ninth nomination, will be an invitee at the wedding.

“This is not going to be a huge Hollywood wedding with Julia Roberts and Sandra Bullock flying in to Italy for a week,” said the source. “George and Amal don’t want a media circus with paparazzi helicopters flying overhead and motorbikes chasing after them as they all arrive at the airport in Milan from Los Angeles. They want the wedding to be intimate with quiet but happy and fun dinners and lunches after they’ve said short but meaningful, hand-written vows in front of their loved ones.”

  • Juliana Margulies Live Chats on ‘Good Wife’ Shocker

The Good Wife‘s Juliana Margulies hosted a live chat on Facebook Monday after the craziness resulting from the shocking death of Josh Charles‘ character, Will Gardner, on Sunday’s episode.

Margulies announced her intentions to chat via Facebook at 11 a.m. Monday with a sign that read, “Join me for a Facebook chat in one hour.” Literally thousands of fans posted their questions and shared their shock and grief over the surprising episode.

Margulies told Facebook fans she’s known about plans to kill off Will for more than a year.

“I have known this for close to a year,” said Margulies. “Josh was going to leave at the end of last season, and I was so sad about it. I begged him to stay and then asked the writers if they would be open to writing for him for 15 episodes, and somehow everyone agreed!”

Margulies said she will miss her friend and colleague.

“You can’t imagine how sad we all are to lose Josh, but we have been living with this a lot longer then the audience so it’s not as harsh for us at this moment,” said Margulies. “Josh is one of the best actors I have ever worked with and I will miss him every day. But his death makes the character of Alicia have to move in a different direction and that is very exciting.”

Margulies told fans to enjoy the coming episodes of the show and wait to see what the death will mean to the storyline.

“Thank you so much! The show will miss Will’s character but if you hang in there, I think people will ultimately be happy,” she posted. “It will be a springboard for Alicia to figure out what to do with her life, suddenly everything seems numb and without purpose. She reevaluates everything.”

With the death of Will, the show is likely to have big changes in the future. Margulies confirms those changes.

“I love these writers. They are amazing at keeping us all on our toes and I trust the direction will be the right direction,” she said in response to a question by a Facebook fan. “Aliciia is in for a big change.”

She added in another reply: “Oh boy, it gets pretty sad, but then she will bounce back to warrior mode so keep watching.”

According to Margulies, fans are in for an emotional ride on the next episode.

“I really encourage you to watch this coming Sunday’s episode,” she posted. “You will see what she really thinks about Will. And bring tissues.”
