  • Johnny Depp Got “Dark” For His Portrayal Of Donald Trump

Johnny Depp surprised fans of Funny Or Die when he appeared in one of their videos recently as Donald Trump, a pretty fair stretch from the characters he usually portrays. But, as director Jeremy Konner says, he had to go to some dark depths to pull it off, so Depp was actually the perfect choice.

The faux biopic, The Art Of The Deal, was all about finding and tapping into Trump’s ability to be a bratty bully, according to Johnny Depp.

“I approached Donald Trump as what you kind of see in him when you really watch him. There’s a pretense. There’s something created about him in the sense of bullydom. But what he is, I believe, is a brat,” Depp said.

Trump has been making waves since day one of his campaign for the presidency with his views on immigrants, women, and America in general, prompting protesters to show up at his rallies. Violence has erupted more than once, and many are worried about the potential for more acts of violence as the campaign wears on.

“He’s Depp, so when he comes into a role, he fully embodies it. He brought a darkness that I don’t think we would have gotten if Adam Sandler had played him. There was some real, meaty, dark depths in there,” director Jeremy Konner told Entertainment Weekly. “There was a little bit of Whitey Bulger sticking out at points, a little bit of Hunter S. Thompson sticking out at times. At the very end, when he had to talk like a kid and they switch places, he went full Ed Wood. It was a potpourri of Depp.”

Depp reportedly used his own hair and makeup team to get him Trumped up, and the entire process–including prosthetics for his face–took two to four hours to complete.

  • Johnny Depp Describes GOP Frontrunner Donald Trump As A ‘Brat’

Actor Johnny Depp described Republican frontrunner Donald Trump as a “brat” while delivering a speech at Arizona State University on Saturday.

Depp spoke with Arizona State’s Origins Project founder Lawrence Krauss about “humanity in madness” before sharing his opinion of the famous Republican candidate.

“It’s not just about being a rich kid or anything like that. I approached Donald Trump as what you kind of see in him when you really watch him,” Depp began.

“There’s a pretense. There’s something created about him in the sense of bullydom. But what he is, I believe, is a brat,” the actor quipped to the audience’s cheers.

Johnny Depp Takes a Dig at Donald Trump Before an Audience of Students

Depp, who portrayed the business tycoon in a Funny or Die biopic based on Trump’s book, The Art of the Deal, went on to mimic Trump’s way of speaking: “Also the absurdity of where his sentences might travel. … Reagan back in the day, ‘Mr. Gorbachev, tear down that wall!’ Donald Trump, ‘I’m going to build a wall.”

“I’m going to build a wall. A fabulous wall. Sensational. Sensational. And all of my billions are not going to have to pay for it. Because you know why? Mexico is going to pay for it,’” Johnny Depp said in his best Trump voice.

Johnny Depp Plays Trump in ‘Funny or Die’ Skit

The actor was referring to a Trump’s previous statement about building a wall along the Mexico-US border – funded by the Mexican government – to solve the illegal immigration problem.

Johnny Depp is one of the many celebrities who have criticized Trump for his controversial remarks on Muslims, immigration, and terrorism. Just recently, the billionaire was compared to the German dictator, Adolf Hitler after asking voters to raise their right hands as a sign of their support to him, which reminded people of the Nazi “Heil Hitler” salute.

  • Johnny Depp Plays Donald Trump in Secretly Filmed “Funny or Die” Spoof

Johnny Depp is unrecognizable as Donald Trump in a new hour-long spoof secretly filmed by the “Funny or Die” people. Based on Trump’s book, Art of the Deal, the short film was released on Wednesday.

“Funny or Die” co-founder Adam McKay and editor-in-chief Owen Burke kept the filming of the spoof under wraps until just after the New Hampshire primaries on Tuesday.

“The plan was to move really fast because we thought Trump would go away, as least as a presidential candidate,” Burke said in a recent interview. “When he bizarrely didn’t go away, we had a little more time. But that meant keeping the secret for longer.”

“We had a few people sign non-disclosures,” Burke admitted. “But mostly we just begged people not to say anything.”

“It was a crazy, completely nuts idea that somehow we pulled off,” McKay said.

Johnny Depp–as Donald Trump–recites several one-liners that are not all that off track based on some of the strange things Trump likes to say.

“By day, it’s me against the city,” Johnny Depp says using his Trump-like mannerisms. “By night, it’s me and the city.”

“This is the opposite of a mistake! This is a good stake,” Depp, as Trump, declares.

Donald Trump has yet to react to the spoof. Do you expect he will like the fact that he was played by Johnny Depp?

When you see it, see if you wouldn’t know it’s Johnny Depp had you not already been told.

  • Jaimie Alexander, Amber Heard Experience Teleprompter Fail at Golden Globes

Jaimie Alexander, star NBC’s Blindspot. and Amber Heard, wife of actor Johnny Depp, suffered an embarrassing teleprompter fail while serving as presenters at Sunday’s Golden Globes.

According to a report from Entertainment Tonight, it’s uncertain if Jaimie Alexander and Amber Heard didn’t like the jokes that were written for them on the teleprompter, or if it was moving too slow for on stage conversation to flow naturally.

Jaimie Alexander and Amber Heard took the stage to announce and present the award for Best Actor in a Limited TV Series or Movie. By this point in the evening–following several awkward moments and many bad jokes–people started wondering if the Golden Globes was aired sans any rehearsals at all.

As the two actresses stood on stage, saying nothing, Jaimie Alexander finally asked, “Are we supposed to say something?”

After naming the category’s nominees, it appeared Alexander didn’t want to read what was on the teleprompter.

“Who types this [bleep]?” she asked, appearing perturbed.

Oscar Isaac was eventually (it seemed like several minutes, but in truth was only seconds–embarrassment for those on stage made it feel longer) named the winner of the Golden Globe, for his role in Show Me A Hero. His dignified acceptance speech helped everyone forget those awkward moments Jaimie Alexander and Amber Heard experienced (or caused?) on stage.

Not everyone thought the presentation was a disaster.

ET’s Nancy O’Dell spoke with Jaimie Alexander on the red carpet ahead of the Golden Globes. She was far more personable than she was on stage, answering questions about planning her wedding to Peter Facinelli.

“We’re moving slow because we’re both extremely busy right now, but we’re coming up with some really fun ideas that involve a bit of a stunt,” she said.

Did you catch Jaimie Alexander and Amber Heard on stage Sunday night at the Golden Globes? What do you think happened?

  • Lily-Rose Depp: Dad Johnny Depp Knew All About Her Sexuality Ahead of Revelation

Lily-Rose Depp recently joined the Self Evident Project, which celebrates people of a variety of sexual orientations, including lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer or questioning, and intersex. Dad Johnny Depp says her revelation wasn’t news to him, as she confides in him frequently.

“She’s got thousands of followers on social media, and they were all taken completely by surprise,” Johnny Depp said in a recent interview with the Daily Mail. “But not me. I already knew because she tells me everything–she’s not afraid to say anything to me. We’re super-tight and I’m very proud of our relationship.”

The actor says his daughter is very mature for her age–and intelligent, too.

“Lily’s really together–she’s a sharp kid and one of the smartest human beings I have ever met,” he says.

Dad is always available for advice, however, should Lily-Rose need any.

“Whatever she is doing, if she needs any advice, I’m there for her,” the Black Mass star says. “Kids are going to make their own decisions, but I guess that the only thing you can do as a parent is to offer support. And I do.”

Lily-Rose Depp has already caught the acting bug. She has played several roles already at just 16. She has her mom, Vanessa Paradis’ talent for modeling, too. Karl Lagerfeld and Chanel have featured her in high-profile ads.

“She’s been snatched up by Karl Lagerfeld–which is a coincidence, as he spotted her mother when she was the same age, too–and when I see her with make-up and all that stuff, it’s really disturbing, because she’s a very beautiful girl, and it’s all happening so fast,” her famous father says.

It’s abundantly clear that Lily-Rose Depp makes her dad proud–for her successes in the acting and modeling field, and for revealing her sexuality–something many teens fear.

With the support of a dad who allows her to be herself, it’s obvious she will continue to shine.

  • Amber Heard Says Johnny Depp Split Rumors Nothing But “Horrible Misrepresentation” of Their Lives

Amber Heard and Johnny Depp have been followed by split rumors since shortly after they wed. During a recent interview that appears in the December issue of Marie Claire, Amber Heard says she and Depp are doing just fine.

“I try not to react to the horrible misrepresentation of our lives, but it is strange, and hard,” she says.

It was less than a year ago–in February of 2014–when Amber Heard and Johnny Depp got married. The couple practically disappeared from view until September, when they surfaced at the Venice Film Festival.

“They’re adorable together,” a source tells E! News, adding that Amber Heard and Johnny Depp looked very much in love in the theater, where his film Black Mass was screening. The two shared lots of PDA. The source adds that despite split rumors, things have long been fine with the couple.

“They’ve always been together,” the source shares. “They travel for work then come home. They live together and are very much in love, despite what’s being said about breakup rumors.”

Amber Heard even reportedly enjoys being a stepmother to Johnny Depp’s two children–Lily-Rose Depp and Jack John Christopher Depp III.

“[It is] an honor and the greatest, most surprising gift I have ever received in my life,” she says of the relatively new role. “I feel new flavors that I didn’t know existed. New colors that I didn’t know existed have been added to my life. I’m so happy.”

Prior to marrying Johnny Depp, Amber Heard was involved in a long term relationship with another woman. She doesn’t want to talk about that these days, however.

Amber Heard spoke about her sexuality with the The Times this past summer, however.

“I don’t want to have to deny my sexuality in order to be me. But I don’t want to have to be defined by it,” she said. “I’m fundamentally opposed to trying to edit myself to be palatable or popular. I don’t give a f–k. I fight, but I shouldn’t have to.”

Apparently Amber Heard and Johnny Depp aren’t fighting. Per her latest interview, the two are just fine.

Do you see Amber Heard and Johnny Depp’s marriage lasting? Are you among those who have questioned it from the start?

  • Johnny Depp Says He Was Nearly Fired From Disney Film Due To Character’s Sexuality

Johnny Depp Says He Was Nearly Fired From Disney Film Due To Character’s Sexuality

Johnny Depp recently revealed that he was nearly fired from the first Pirates Of The Caribbean film because the studio execs were unsure about where he was taking the character of Jack Sparrow.

Depp says word got back to him that his job was in jeopardy because some of the people involved with the film didn’t get his portrayal of Sparrow and wondered if he was gay.

“It trickled back to me somehow that, ‘Goddammit, Johnny Depp’s ruining the film! What is that thing? Is it drunk, is it gay? When they asked if it was gay, I said: ‘Didn’t you know all my characters are gay?’” Johnny Depp said.

Johnny said in 2013 that he likes to delve into every character he plays, and that often means exploring where their sexuality goes.

“I’m very happy to explore all possibilities of a character and really, you know, dive into the role. They couldn’t understand what I was doing. You know? To the point where Disney wanted to — wanted to fire me. They didn’t understand the character. They were actually contemplating subtitling the film,” Depp told Metro.

Johnny Depp went on to star in several installments in the film’s franchise, so it looks like the execs figured out what he was trying to accomplish. These days, he’s garnering Oscar talk for his portrayal of notorious crime lord Whitey Bulger in the film Black Mass, but he says he’s not interested in getting awards.

“I don’t want to win one of those things ever, you know. I don’t want to have to talk. They gave me one of those things, like a nomination, two or three times. A nomination is plenty,” Johnny Depp said at the London Film Festival.

Johnny and his wife Amber Heard made waves earlier this year when they visited Australia and brought their dog along illegally, prompting Agriculture Minister Barnaby Joyce to threaten the animals with euthanization if they weren’t removed from the country within 48 hours. Heard, who was actually the one to bring the dogs in, faced ten years in prison for the dog smuggling incident.

  • Amber Heard Gives Cops The Middle Finger In ‘Overhaulin’ Prank

A very angry Amber Heard will be seen in a new episode of Overhaulin’ as her husband Johnny Depp and her father teamed up to prank the actress.

Heard was made to believe her car 1968 Mustang was stolen so she reported the incident to the police. The 29-year-old actress got impatient as one of the cops got starstruck with the blonde beauty and started to take photos.

“I’m sorry about this,” one of cops says to Depp of his associate who is busy taking pictures instead of helping them. “He gets really starstruck. We met Jean-Claude Van Damme one time, and we had to, like, get a restraining order.”

Heard gave the officer the middle finger when he tried to take a picture of her but the officer who apologized for the other officer’s behalf is now posing for a snapshot saying “Officer Douglas, if you’re gonna (take photos), just come over. Let’s get one for the newsletter.”

The actress gets really angry as the police do not seem to take their jobs seriously.

“Get my car back!” Heard says to the cop. Officer Douglas, the cop who takes the photos, asks for a selfie but the actress totally loses her patience and declines.

Heard’s car had been stolen more than once in the past. When the police officers revealed she is on Overhaulin’ Heard was surprised, especially when her father appeared. Heard’s embarrassed face after the revelation is epic.

Heard says the car means so much to her as she bought the car with every dime she had. What surprised the actress the most is seeing her ’68 Mustang overhauled and looking brand-new in its cherry red paint job, and the one who retouched the car incidentally, is “Officer Douglas.”

  • Amber Heard Victim of Hubby Johnny Depp’s Prank

Amber Heard is the proud owner of a 1968 Ford Mustang. She spent just about every cent she had to buy the car when she first moved to L.A.

Husband Johnny Depp gets the very best of Amber Heard in an upcoming episode of Overhaulin’ when he pranks her into believing her beloved baby has been stolen.

In the episode, Heard is seen becoming enraged with an “officer” as he snaps photos of her with his cell phone.

“Get my car back!” she insists.

“I bought it as kind of a drivable piece of junk, a beautiful piece of junk,” Amber Heard recalls in one of the clips promoting the show. “The car cost me every dime I had.”

Custom car designer Chip Foose is in the process of turning Heard’s car into a retro beauty.

When Amber Heard finally realized what was going on, she said, “I’m overwhelmed! I can’t believe it,” adding, “I don’t let anyone touch my car!”

The Overhaulin’ team, led by Foose, winds up turning Amber Heard’s car into a masterpiece, reducing her to tears.

“I’m sorry,” she says, laughing and crying at the same time. “I can’t believe it! Oh my God, thank you so much!”

Even though Amber Heard is no doubt thrilled with her car’s makeover, she’s still likely a bit peeved at Johnny Depp for pranking her.

Should Johnny Depp fear Amber Heard in the coming days? After all, Halloween is this weekend.

  • Johnny Depp: No Interest in Oscars, “Black Mass” Might Earn Him One

Johnny Depp presently stars on the big screen as Boston mobster Whitey Bulger in Black Mass. Buzz about the film indicates Depp could be an Oscar contender for his role–and the film could earn some, too. For most actors this would be a source of great excitement and pride.

Not so much for Johnny Depp.

“I don’t want to win one of those things ever, you know,” he said in a recent interview at the London Film Festival, where Black Mass was opening.

“I don’t want to have to talk,” he added.

“They gave me one of those things, like a nomination, two or three times,” Johnny Depp says. “A nomination is plenty.”

Given three prior Oscar nods for Finding Neverland, Sweeney Todd, and the first Pirates of the Caribbean film, the actor is clearly satisfied.

A bit disgruntled over talk of his role in Black Mass being his big comeback, Johnny Depp laughs.

“What did I come back from? The dead?” he asks. “I haven’t done anything different in this than I have in any other film.”

He does, however, explain his real feelings about the Oscars.

“The idea of winning means that you’re in competition with someone and I’m not in competition with anybody,” he says. “I just stick to my guns and do what I want to do. Sometimes people don’t like it but that’s alright.”

Like it or not, Johnny Depp just might find himself a viable Oscar contender for his role as Whitey Bulger.

Have you seen Black Mass? Have you seen the transformation the actor underwent to go from Johnny Depp to Whitey Bulger?

    It’s a work of art.

Black Mass starring Johnny Depp opens in the U.K. in late November. It is currently playing in theaters nationwide in the U.S.

  • “Black Mass” Did NOT Give Benedict Cumberbatch Politics Fever

Black Mass provided two deep roles for two very deep actors.

Of course, there was incredible transformation of Johnny Depp in the dark role of James “Whitey” Bulger for Black Mass.

Depp had to endure hours in the makeup chair to achieve his menacing look for Black Mass, which included a white receding hairline wig and contact lenses.

Benedict Cumberbatch, who plays Whitey’s brother, William “Billy” Bulger, didn’t have a huge physical transformation, but he did have to study up on American politics for Black Mass. He didn’t, however, come away with a taste for the whole racket.

He said, “This role didn’t give me a taste of politics.”

He added, “American politics is a whole different thing. I had to do quite a bit of learning what a state senate and a president of a state senate actually does and what it means.”

That doesn’t mean Benedict Cumberbatch didn’t enjoy working on Black Mass.

In fact, he rather enjoyed the location. He said, “It gave me a taste for Boston, though. It’s an amazing place. I had a great time doing this and prepping for it.”

Now, why wouldn’t Benedict Cumberbatch gain a love for American politics after filming Black Mass in Boston? I mean, come on. It’s ever so attractive right now, right?

What do you think about the transformation of Benedict Cumberbatch and Johnny Depp for Black Mass?

  • Amber Heard, Johnny Depp Share Gift of Hearing in Brazil

Amber Heard and Johnny Depp traveled to Brazil last week so he could perform with his band, Hollywood Vampires, at Rock in Rio. The band includes rock and roll icons Alice Cooper and Aerosmith’s Joe Perry. While there, Depp and Heard wanted to leave the people there with a very special gift.

Partnering with the Starkey Hearing Foundation, Johnny Depp and Amber Heard provided hearing aids to hundreds of people suffering from hearing loss. Amber Heard was reduced to tears during one very special moment.

“The reaction somebody has when they hear for the first time, in this case, you see it light up–changes their whole face,” she told the Associated Press. “Just to be a small part of that for one moment, to watch someone’s life change in front of you, it’s moving to say the least.”

Even Johnny Depp was deeply moved by the appreciation these folks had for the gift of hearing.

“If you pass something over to someone that they haven’t had ever before, it’s very moving,” the Black Mass star shared. “This sweet little girl, I turned the volume up and I just sort of made a noise–ba-ba-ba-ba-ba–and she went, ‘Yes! Escuchar, I can hear!’”

Kudos to Amber Heard and Johnny Depp for partnering with the Starkey Hearing Foundation to provide the gift of hearing to so many who never would have been able to afford hearing aids on their own.

These two celebrities set fine examples for others in Hollywood. May they follow in Heard and Depp’s footsteps and share a bit of their fame and fortune with those less fortunate–either in this country or abroad.

  • Whitey Bulger Wanted Nothing To Do With Black Mass Film

Whitey Bulger is in prison and will never get out. Famed Boston gangster James “Whitey” Bulger is currently serving two life sentences for conspiracy, racketeering, extortion and the murders of 11 people. But out of sight certainly doesn’t mean out of mind.

In the new film Black Mass, actor Johnny Depp portrays Bulger, a fact that some former Bulger associates are keen on, but some are not. Depp famously expressed interest in the human side of the murdering gangster, saying of his preparation for the role,

“The first thing for me was to understand him first and foremost as a human being,”

“Anybody and everybody, especially the families of his victims, could say ‘He’s just an evil person.’ I don’t believe that exists. People have their humanity, everything they’ve carried with them since they were children. There’s a side of James Bulger who is not just that man who was in that business.”

Depp says he wanted to talk to Bulger himself, but was turned down.

“I made an attempt to contact Mr. Bulger only out of respect. It’s his life, and I’m playing him onscreen,” Depp says. Apparently Bulger did not like the book about him that the film was built on.

“I’m sure he’s not enthusiastic about any of the books – which I understand,” Depp said of Bulger. “I never expected him to meet with me.”

Bulger’s defense attorney Hank Brennan is not even enthusiastic about Depp’s portrayal of Bulger.

“Johnny Depp might as well have been playing the Mad Hatter all over again as far as James Bulger is concerned,” Brennan says. “Hollywood greed is behind the rush to portray my client, and the movie missed the real scourge created in my client’s case, the real menace to Boston during that time and in other mob cases around the country – the federal government’s complicity in each and every one of those murders with the top echelon informant program.”

“The movie missed the real story and instead made a cartoon mockery out of Jimmy Bulger,” Brennan says.

Dick Lehr, who co-authored Black Mass, begs to differ.

“Yeah, I think Johnny nailed it,” says Lehr. “Johnny didn’t back away from the fact that he’s a monster.”

  • Amber Heard Cries While Helping Needy Brazilians

Amber Heard and her new-ish husband, Johnny Depp, did a little giving back on Thursday while in Brazil.

Johnny Depp and his band, the Hollywood Vampires, were attending the Rock in Rio music festival in Rio de Janeiro when Johnny and Amber Heard decided to do something for the people of the city.

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard partnered with Starkey Hearing Foundation to help distribute hundreds of hearing aids to those locals who couldn’t afford them.

The result of which was clearly a life-changing event for a teary-eyed Amber Heard.

Amber Heard later told AP, “The reaction somebody has when they hear for the first time, in this case, you see it light up — changes their whole face. Just to be a small part of that for one moment, to watch someone’s life change in front of you, it’s moving to say the least.”

Johnny Depp was also deeply moved as he recounted one experience.

He said, “If you pass something over to someone that they haven’t had ever before, it’s very moving. This sweet little girl, I turned the volume up and I just sort of made a noise – ‘ba-ba-ba-ba-ba’ — and she went, ‘Yes! Escuchar, I can hear!’”

This heartwarming story about Amber Heard and Johnny Depp comes on the heels of a much less attractive one.

Recently it was reported that Amber Heard was feeling decidedly less charitable when she ordered Johnny Depp to sell his beloved yacht.

The yacht is dubbed Vajoliroja, which is a combination of the first two letters in the names of Johnny, his ex, Vanessa Paradis, and their two children, Lily Rose and Jack.

An insider said of the situation, “Johnny loved that yacht. But he bought it for Vanessa. And Amber is still jealous of her.”

What do you think of the accusation that Amber Heard is jealous of Vanessa Paradis?

  • Amber Heard Could Go To Jail for Smuggling Pistol

Amber Heard and Johnny Depp have probably gotten more press than they wanted during their time in Australia. The pair went there because Depp is working on Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. The film production company was offered a $20 million tax incentive to shot the fifth installment of the Pirates franchise there.

As you may recall, Amber Heard and Johnny Depp caught some flak for smuggling in their two dogs, Pistol and Boo, against Australian regulations.

Australian Agriculture minister Barnaby Joyce caught some camera time when he said, “There is a process if you want to bring animals: you get the permits, they go into quarantine and then you can have them. If we start letting movie stars even though they’ve been the sexiest man alive twice to come into our nation, then why don’t we just break the laws for everybody? It’s time that Pistol and Boo buggered off back to the United States.”

A Dept. of Agriculture spokesperson in Australia added, “The Department of Agriculture is the Australian Government authority that manages animal imports to protect people’s health as well as animal and plant health. Any animal which is imported without meeting Australia’s import conditions will be ordered into quarantine and will either be exported or euthanized.”

Rather than see their dogs euthanized, Amber Heard and Johnny Depp sent them back home to the U.S. When asked for a comment about the situation, Heard replied, “I have a feeling we’re going to avoid the land Down Under from now on, just as much as we can, thanks to certain politicians there. I don’t know, I guess everybody goes for their 15 minutes, including some government officials.”

Even though the dogs were sent back home, a crime was allegedly committed under Australian law — two crimes, actually: illegal importation and false documentation.

Amber Heard can apply to have a sentence determined in her absence. Australian law does allow for a maximum of 10 years in prison and a $75,000 fine for the illegal importation charge against her, and a maximum one year in prison and $7,500 fine for false documentation.

Jetpets is a company that transports pets internationally. A spokesperson for that company commented about Australia’s lengthy and strident clearance program for pets like Amber Heard’s.

“Australian houses have very few diseases (such as rabies) so our live animal import regulations are very strict. There are many tests and vaccines that must be done on certain dates during the seven months by a government vet. Australia require pets to apply for import permits, secure quarantine space and stay in quarantine for 10 days upon arrival in Australia prior to being released in to the community.”

  • Amber Heard Could Face Jail Time And Fine Over Dog Fiasco

Amber Heard was charged this week and must appear in Australian court on September 7th on charges that she and Johnny Depp “smuggled” their two yorkies, Pistol and Boo, into the country.

Amber Heard and Johnny Depp avoided the ten-day quarantine and other stringent laws involving bringing animals into Australia by flying them in on a private plane.

However, the piper must be paid and Amber Heard must answer for their actions. The penalty for smuggling animals is a maximum of 10 years behind bars, and a fine of $75,000.

According to Australia’s agriculture minister, Barnaby Joyce, even movie stars have to obey the laws.

Amber Heard said in an interview last month with an Australian news channel, “I have a feeling we’re going to avoid the land Down Under from now on, just as much as we can, thanks to certain politicians there,” the actress said. “I don’t know, I guess everyone tries to go for their 15 minutes, including some government officials.”

Co-hosts of the news show were a bit put off by Amber Heard’s comments.

“That’s a bit disappointing,” Samantha Armytage said after the interview. “She should be more respectful of our quarantine laws.”

Co-host David Koch concurred, saying, “Hollywood types. They think they’re a bit above the law.”

What do you think of Amber Heard’s flippant attitude toward breaking Australia’s animal smuggling laws?

  • Amber Heard Summoned To Court Over Johnny Depp’s Dogs

Amber Heard has been summoned to court over the debacle involving Johnny Depp’s dogs.

Amber Heard and Johnny Depp were in trouble for ignoring Australia’s strict animal quarantine laws. They were in Australia because Depp is filming the latest Pirates of the Caribbean installment.

At the time, Agriculture Minister Barnaby Joyce said, “It’s time Pistol and Boo buggered off back to the United States.”

Pistol and Boo did indeed bugger off a few days later.

However, a later Senate hearing was told that Johnny Depp and Amber Heard could be sentenced up to 10 years in jail, or they could be forced to pay a fine of up to $265,000 if they were found guilty of illegally importing the dogs.

It continued, “The CDPP’s action follows an incident where a bio-security officer attended a Gold Coast property in April and found two dogs alleged to be illegally imported. Amber Heard was not thrilled at all to be entangled in the fiasco.

  • Johnny Depp Jumps Ship In Bid To Save Marriage To Amber Heard

Looks like Pirates of the Caribbean 5 has hit stormy waters yet again.

Reports say that lead Johnny Depp has walked out of the set and is flying back to the US to try and salvage his marriage to Amber Heard.

A source on the movie’s production team has said the actor is “going back to the States on the first available private charter flight he can get on.”

The 29-year-old Heard left for the US last week with their two Terriers, Pistol and Boo, in a bid to save their lives.

The two dogs were brought in Australia without going through its very strict quarantine laws, a move that didn’t sit well with the country’s Agriculture Minister.

The Sleepy Hollow actor and his wife were given 50 hours to return the dogs or the pets would be seized and euthanized.

The rhum loving captain of the Black Pearl was supposed to bring the dogs back to the US but was discouraged by producers.

But pet fiasco aside, insiders are saying that Depp’s wife of three months also left because she was barred from the set of Pirates as the couple’s fights were starting to affect the movie’s shooting schedule.

A publicist for the Mortdecai actor has spoken out about the reports and said that none of it was true.

“I can’t go into detail on our filming schedules or the movements of individuals but I can tell you that nothing in that report has any relation to reality,” publicist Michael Singer clarified.

“Mr. Depp has been filming on schedule. It’s business as usual with all participants working,” he added.

Well, that’s certainly good news for everyone involved.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is already behind schedule with the unexpected hiatus it took when Depp injured his right hand.

Another break might maroon the franchise altogether.

  • Amber Heard And Johnny Depp’s Marital Problems Still Ongoing

Rumors that Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s marriage are headed for divorce have been swirling around for months now. And if that’s not stressful enough, the couple’s pet dogs might be put down due to Australia’s strict quarantine laws.

Reports that Depp’s 4-month-old marriage to Heard is already on the rocks because of their busy schedules, Depp’s drinking and Heard’s partying and friendship with iO Tillett Wright have been making the rounds.

But a close friend of the couple says that the two have “always been together.”

“They travel for work then come home. They live together and are very much in love, despite what’s being said about breakup rumors,” the friend added.

Depp and Heard have also put up a united front to dispel those rumors when they arrived together in Australia last month so Depp can continue shooting the fifth installment of Pirates of the Caribbean.

Depp and the 28-year-old Heard were photographed holding hands and looking happy in Brisbane but sources say that the happy front is just that – a front. The same source says that it’s common to see the Rum Diary co-stars bickering constantly on the set of Depp’s new movie, often on very petty matters.

If those reports are true, then the situation with Australia’s Ministry of Agriculture is sure to put additional pressure on an already strained relationship.

Australia’s Agriculture Minister Barnaby Joyce has given the couple 48-hours to send their pet Yorkshire terriers back to the US or the country will have no option but to deport or euthanize them.

Australia has very strict biosecurity laws that Depp and Heard appear to have bypassed when they brought their dogs with them last month.

“There is a process if you want to bring animals: you get the permits, they go into quarantine and then you can have them,” Joyce said.

  • Amber Heard and Johnny Depp Have Trouble with a Bitch

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard headed to The Gold Coast in Australia last month on a private jet. They are there because Depp is working on Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. The film production company was offered a $20 million tax incentive to shot the fifth installment of the Pirates franchise there.

But now Johnny Depp and Amber Heard may be up a creek. According to Australian authorities, the couple brought their two dogs with them. The mutts are called Pistol and Boo. And the problem is that you can’t bring a pet into Australia without a lengthy process.

Australian Agriculture minister Barnaby Joyce said, “There is a process if you want to bring animals: you get the permits, they go into quarantine and then you can have them.”

According to this chap, Johnny Depp and Amber Heard did not properly clear their dogs. Then came this sexually ambiguous statement:

“If we start letting movie stars even though they’ve been the sexiest man alive twice to come into our nation, then why don’t we just break the laws for everybody?”

    Then came this diplomatic statement:

“It’s time that Pistol and Boo buggered off back to the United States.”

According to a Dept. of Agriculture spokesperson in Australia, getting those two dogs in takes a lot of red tape.

“The Department of Agriculture is the Australian Government authority that manages animal imports to protect people’s health as well as animal and plant health. Any animal which is imported without meeting Australia’s import conditions will be ordered into quarantine and will either be exported or euthanized.”

So, the dogs could be deported, or they could be put down. The rep wouldn’t say which.

“The department is unable to comment on an individual’s imports or personal circumstances, regardless of whether that person is a public figure.”

Jetpets is a company that transports pets internationally. A spokesperson for that company commented about Australia’s lengthy ans strident clearance program for pets.

  • Natalie Portman Is Brushing Up On Her French To Prepare For Role With Johnny Depp’s Daughter Lily Rose

Natalie Portman is refining her French to prepare for a role with Johnny Depp’s daughter Lily Rose.

It’s been more than two decades since Natalie Portman last starred in a French film, but it shouldn’t take her long to prepare for Planetarium. After all, she has been living in Paris since last year after moving there with French hubby, choreographer Benjamin Millepied.

Natalie Portman will star with Lily Rose Depp in Planetarium, which is a 1930’s set drama by French director Rebecca Zlotowski, according to Variety.

The last time Natalie Portman starred in a film by a French director was 1994s Leon, which was directed by Luc Besson.

Planetarium chronicles the story of “two sisters believed to possess the supernatural ability to connect with ghosts.”

Natalie Portman will appear at the Cannes Film Festival opening on the French riviera Wednesday, with her directorial debut of A Tale of Love and Darkness.

Natalie Portman, who was born in Israel, won a best actress Golden Globe and an Academy Award for Best Actress for 2010’s Black Swan, which is where she met Millepied.

The couple were married in 2012 and moved to Paris last November, after Millepied landed a coveted gig with the Paris Opera Ballet.
