  • John Mayer, Katy Perry Relationship Getting Serious

John Mayer may seem like a serial heartbreaker from all the headlines bearing his name in recent years, but it seems like he might be settling down with Katy Perry now that the two have reconciled.

The couple are having some serious dates, including showing up to watch President Obama’s inauguration on Monday and attending the Inaugural Concert over the weekend, where Perry performed.

“They are seriously in love and exclusive,” a “source” told Us Weekly.

Mayer, who has formerly romanced fellow musicians Jessica Simpson and Taylor Swift, has at least one song written about him and his scandalous ways. Swift, who infamously documents her love life in her music, allegedly wrote “Dear John” about their relationship. Mayer has said he was hurt by the song, but Swift rolls her eyes at that.

“I take these songs and these people who inspire these songs on a case-by-case basis,” she told The Daily Beast. “If there were someone who was a good person, I’m not going to write something bad about them. But if they handle a situation in a way that really messed up my life for a while, that’s what I’m going to write about.”

Perry was most recently linked to comedian Russell Brand, but the couple went through a painful divorce in 2011.

  • Taylor Swift Doesn’t Want To Know What John Mayer Thinks

Taylor Swift has a pretty big reputation for taking her broken hearts (yes, plural) and turning them into super successful country-pop songs that the world will hear, but she says it’s hard for her to find out what certain people think about her.

When doing an interview for Glamour Magazine, Swift quickly shut down the interviewer’s segueway into how her ex, John Mayer, felt about her song “Dear John”, saying she doesn’t want to know what he thinks about her or the song.

“I know it wasn’t good, so I don’t want to know,” she said. “I put a high priority on staying happy, and I know what I can’t handle.” Besides, she said, she never discloses who her songs are about, so how does he even know he was the target?

Presumably because there are things in it that apply to him, and he’s feeling guilty. But Mayer has publicly spoken out against the song, saying he felt “humiliated” after he heard it and that he didn’t deserve it. Swift says she purposely stays away from reading, seeing, or hearing things about herself when it comes to hurt feelings, because she can only take so much.

“It’s not that I’m this egomaniac and I don’t want to hear anything negative,” she said. “Because I do keep myself in check. But I’ve never developed that thick a skin…If you go too far down the rabbit hole of what people think about you, it can change everything about who you are.”

The young singer has already left a long trail of boys who have done her wrong in the form of lyrics, and says that’s her way of coping rather than a mode of revenge. But when asked about her current beau, Conor Kennedy, Swift quickly closes up.

“I don’t talk about my personal life in great detail,” Swift said. “I write about it in my songs, and I feel like you can share enough about your life in your music to let people know what you’re going through.”

John Mayer: Singer’s New Hair Stops The Presses

John Mayer, the mellow-music crooner we all love to hate, chopped his hair off recently after splitting up with pop-tart Katy Perry, and the internet is blowing up.

Apparently, Mayer’s fans were of the opinion that his former long, curly locks made him look like a homeless person and are rejoicing that he’s made a change. Others think he changes his appearance too much (“like a girl”, to use the parlance of one tweeter). Tough luck, John. You can’t please everyone all the time.

  • Mayer Humiliated by Taylor Swift’s Song Dear John

John Mayer, the singer/songwriter who once referred to his penis as a racist, has decided to publicly discuss former flame Taylor Swift’s song “Dear John”. The tune, which showed up on Swift’s 2010 album “Speak Now”, has been a staple of her live sets for a while now. According to Mayer, he didn’t deserve to have issues from their relationship addressed in such a manner.

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Mayer said, “It made me feel terrible. Because I didn’t deserve it. I’m pretty good at taking accountability now, and I never did anything to deserve that. It was a really lousy thing for her to do.”

Mayer also stated that he wasn’t unaware of Swift’s feelings until he’d heard the song, which, he claims, caught him completely off-guard. However, when asked about the line “Don’t you think I was too young to be messed with?”, Mayer decided not to expound on the subject.

“I mean, how would you feel if, at the lowest you’ve ever been, someone kicked you even lower?” he said of the Swift’s tune, which he described as “cheap songwriting”. The last time I checked, a few people felt the same way about Mayer’s output, as well.

If all of this back and forth wasn’t uncomfortable enough, the duo apparently ran into one another at the Sunset Tower Hotel’s bar. According to Page Six, “Taylor very visibly — in front of the entire restaurant — demanded to be moved to the other side. The bar’s usually an oasis of calm and privacy for celebrities and power players, but this was drama central.”

In addition to Swift, the musician has been linked to such starlets as Jessica Simpson, Cameron Diaz, and Jennifer Anniston.
