  • Alicia Keys Remembers That Time John Mayer Showed Her Love At the Grammys

Alicia Keys has certainly had her fair share of amazing Grammy memories considering the 15 Grammys she has won thus far, but she says one particular memory involving John Mayer sticks with her.

In 2002, the 34-year-old songstress picked up five Grammy Awards for her debut album Songs in A Minor. Even though that was certainly a memorable year, she says her favorite Grammy memory involves John Mayer from 2005.

“John Mayer was up for Daughters and I was up for If I Ain’t Got You, and John Mayer won,” the singer told CBS This Morning about the show in 2005, when both stars were nominated for Song of the Year.

“I loved that song Daughters, and I remember he got up on stage and he said … either onstage or backstage, but the point was that he felt that I should’ve won that award,” said Keys.

Mayer went so far in his conviction that she should share the award that took apart his Grammy award and gave Keys the top half, keeping only the bottom half with his name on it.

“So as far as I’m concerned, I won that!” Keys told CBS of the award that now sits on her shelf at home along with her other Grammy Awards.

On Monday, Keys announced the top four categories on CBS This Morning for 2016’s show. Taylor Swift garnered seven nominations, while Kendrick Lamar picked up 11 nominations.

On Friday, Keys joined Ciara, Martina McBride, Paul Rudd, Hillary Scott, Jussie Smollett and Hailee Steinfeld to present Billboard’s 2015 Women in Music awards at a gala in New York City.

  • Giada de Laurentiis: Who is Her New Mystery Man? Is It Bobby Flay?

Giada de Laurentiis admitted during a conversation with Wendy Williams on The Wendy Williams Show Wednesday that there is a new man in her life. That’s all she admitted, however. Now speculation is running far and wide as to whom this mystery man might be. Bobby Flay, of course, is in the running.

When Williams brought up Bobby Flay, Giada de Laurentiis joked she’s been romantically linked to “anybody I laid eyes on even crossing the street.” Andy Cohen raised the same topic when Giada visited him on Watch What Happens Live! He said fans would love to see her linked because of their “great chemistry.”

“We do get together on Food Network Star,” Giada de Laurentiis said of Bobby Flay. “Well, we’re very good friends. We’ve worked for many years together, but I don’t think that’s ever going to happen because I’m smarter than that.”

    Ouch?

While Andy Cohen let the subject go, Wendy Williams was far more persistent.

“Are you in love?” she asked Giada de Laurentiis.

    “God!” De Laurentiis replied.

That didn’t answer the question, though, did it?

As recently as January, Giada has been linked to both Bobby Flay–who was in the process of his own divorce from Law & Order: SVU actress Stephanie March. She was also rumored to be dating singer John Mayer.

“That was a double whammy. That came out a long, long time ago, and then it came resurfaced again. I met John Mayer for like 30 seconds maybe like 10 years ago, and all of a sudden we slept together and had an affair and only God knows what,” she said.

Giada de Laurentiis will eventually tire of playing coy with interviewers and divulge the identity of this new–or not so new–man.

Do you think after the dust settles she will admit it is, in fact, Bobby Flay?

  • Katy Perry, John Mayer Officially Back On Again, Held Hands At Allison Williams’ Wedding

Katy Perry and John Mayer are back on again.

According to People magazine, a source told the magazine that the on-again, off-again couple are “definitely back together.”

Katy Perry, 30, and her 37-year-old rocker attended the wedding of Girls star Allison Williams’ in Saratoga, Wyoming, on Saturday. The couple reportedly did not hide the fact that they were reunited and let the PDA flow.

“John and Katy looked happy,” the source told People. “They held hands and sat next to each other during the wedding ceremony.”

The musicians, who split in February of 2014, fueled rumors of reconciliation when they stepped out for a double date with Williams and her then-fiancé Ricky Van Veen at the Chateau Marmont in January.

As previously reported by WebProNews, Katy and John broke up twice this year —in March 2015 after a January reconciliation. In July, the two reunited and were even spotted together at A Grateful Dead concert but called it quits later that month. Following their brief breakup, Mayer and Perry were together once again in August, reports said.

“They’re spending a lot of time at his house talking over their feelings and trying to see if they can make it work,” a source said at the time.

Attended by close friends and family, Allison Williams wed Rickey Van Veen, which was officiated by Tom Hanks and where Mayer serenaded the newlyweds.

Other guests were Williams’ father, Brian Williams, Lena Dunham, Zosia Mamet, Jemima Kirke, Bruce Springsteen, Andy Cohen and Bee Shaffer.

Word is Katy Perry and John Mayer flew in in separate planes but were inseparable during the nuptials. Do you think Perry and Mayer can make it work?

  • Katy Perry Reunites With Boyfriend John Mayer For Wedding Ceremony

John Mayer and Katy Perry are back together after splitting up in July. Mayer and Perry were seen holding hands at Allison Williams’ wedding in Saratoga, Wyoming, Saturday.

According to onlookers, the on/off couple was very sweet as they sat next to each other. “John and Katy looked happy,” the source revealed to People.

The two hitmakers broke up twice this year. They broke up in March 2015 after they reconciled in January.

In July, the two reunited and were even spotted together at A Grateful Dead concert but called it quits later that month. Following their brief breakup, Mayer and Perry were together once again in August, reports said.

At the time, a source revealed: “They’re spending a lot of time at his house talking over their feelings and trying to see if they can make it work.”

Mayer sang at the Girls star nuptial to Ricky Van Veen. Close friends and family attended the intimate, private ceremony in Wyoming.

Perry looked gorgeous and classy in her long petal designed gown. Mayer looked very polished in his suit, tie and shirt. “They held hands and sat next to each other during the wedding ceremony,” the onlooker said. The couple arrived in separate planes.

source revealed the details of the wedding: “The wedding is being kept so secret that guests are being asked to fly to Denver, where they will be picked up and taken to the location, which is thought to be somewhere in Wyoming.” The guests are flying together for Emmy’s on Sunday, continued the insider.

Tom Hanks officiated the wedding ceremony. Other guests were Williams’ father, Lena Dunham, Zosia Mamet, Jemima Kirke, Bruce Springsteen, Andy Cohen and Bee Shaffer.

  • Katy Perry And John Mayer Are On Again? Couple Spotted At Grateful Dead Concert

The “Firework” pop star, Katy Perry, was seen together with John Mayer over the Fourth of July weekend.

The Grateful Dead’s “Fare Thee Well ” concert held in Chicago, saw Perry, 30, and Meyer, 37, rekindling their relationship.

The two were spotted cozying up to one another at the concert. This started the rumors that they are actually back on.

Perry and Mayer’s on-again, off-again relationship “ended” last March when she released an official statement announcing their breakup.

Sources were insisting that the relationship was “over for good”. Mayer was even heard telling his friends that there was a “lack of emotional interest on his end.”

Despite claiming that he “feel out of love with Perry”, fans are elated to see that Perry and Mayer may have possibly rekindled their relationship.

The first rumors of their rekindled romance after they broke up last year was when they were spotted at a friend’s house in LA together.

Following that, Mayer was seen comforting Perry after her half-time performance at the 2015 Super Bowl.

Perry and Mayer “never stopped talking and being friendly while they were broken up,” said a source close to Perry. “They are really excited about being together right now and spending as much time as possible.”

While neither Perry nor Mayer has commented on the rumors, it appears that they are indeed back on yet again. But is it for good?

Perry posted a photo about the concert on her Instagram account. Although the post did not mention Mayer or the status of their relationship, it was captioned with a short but meaningful word: “grateful”

    grateful.

  • Katy Perry Spotted At Disneyland With Her Ex

Katy Perry was reportedly spotted at Disneyland last week with her ex, John Mayer, and now rumors are flying that the duo are not only back together, but they’re also working on songs together.

Katy, who has been busy with her Prismatic tour, has been hanging out with John in a low-key vibe recently whenever she has time off, according to a source at People.

“They have spent time together, but it doesn’t seem like they are back in a serious relationship. It seems they only see each other whenever it’s convenient. They have spent time in L.A. when Katy has had a break from her tour. They hang out at Katy’s house and have had a dinner date at Sunset Tower,” the source said.

It doesn’t sound like the “Dark Horse” singer has too much free time, however; Perry’s best friend, songwriter Bonnie McKee, said recently that her friend hadn’t even started working on her next album yet despite her manager’s promises that it would be released in 2016.

“You know, Katy’s still been on tour and everything. She hasn’t gone in to start the new album yet. Hopefully! I’d love to be working with her again. I can’t wait to see what she does next actually, but nothing on the horizon just yet,” McKee said.

While it’s not clear what’s going on with Katy and John, rumors have been flying that she’s about to release a song that bashes Taylor Swift. The women have made several headlines over the years with their supposed “feud”, although neither of them has come right out and said they didn’t like the other; in fact, they were very friendly with each other at awards shows over the years. However, Swift said in a recent interview that a fellow singer stabbed her in the back by trying to hire her backup dancers away from her, and many assumed she was talking about Perry. Now, Swift declines to go down that path in interviews.

“I’m not giving them anything to write about. I’m not walking up the street with boys, I’m not stumbling out of clubs drunk. But I’m never going to talk about her in my interview. It’s not going to happen,” Swift said of Katy Perry.

  • Katy Perry Opens Up About Split With Ex-Husband Russell Brand and Romance With John Mayer

Katy Perry has opened up about ex-husband Russell Brand — well, sort of — and her relationship with John Mayer — well, sort of.

In an interview with Sydney’s Daily Telegraph, Katy Perry said that she doesn’t allow heartbreak to define her or dictate how she lives her life.

Although she did mention Brand in the interview, Katy Perry said he’s not her favorite topic, the two have never spoken since they split and prefers to express her feelings creatively.

“[Ex-husband Russell Brand] hasn’t spoken to me since he texted me saying he was filing for divorce. I don’t want to talk about him – my songs will say what I need to say,” she said.

Katy Perry said that instead of wallowing over the 2012 divorce, she chose to distract herself by indulging what she calls her “little fearless invincibility streak.”

“I’m one of those people that likes to be fearless,” she told the Daily Telegraph. “I don’t like to live in fear because that traps you and your voices. Fear is a control tactic in the world that is negative and depressing and I don’t want to be associated with it.”

Katy Perry, who recently rekindled with John Mayer, said she has “absolutely not” been turned off of the idea of falling in love again.

“I’m excited by whatever it brings. I’m excited by my own evolution,” she says. “I don’t want to end up bittersweet.”

She has realized, however, that relationships are not easy, particularly in high-profile relationships.

“I always thought you could have a relationship and success. For a modern woman it’s important to be supported and that there is equality in every aspect. It’s not two halves that make a whole, it’s two wholes that make a whole,” Katy Perry said.

Although her past relationship with John Mayer was strained because of her busy lifestyle, Katy Perry said getting back together again will not keep her from pursuing her dreams.

“I’ve always been ambitious since I was 9 years old,” said Katy Perry. “That was never going to change. I’ve always stuck to my guns. If I’m going to continue to be who I was born to be and, if there is no accepting of me, you aren’t allowed to be a part of me.”

  • Calvin Harris: Is He Taylor Swift’s New Love?

Calvin Harris and Taylor Swift have been spotted together again, prompting many to wonder if the two are dating. Harris and the ‘Style’ singer attended a Kenny Chesney concert together in Nashville on Thursday night, and Calvin Harris was among those cheering loudly when Taylor Swift was invited up on stage to sing with the country star.

On Wednesday, Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris were spotted together (and wearing matching outfits no less) at a Whole Foods store. Taylor attended one of Calvin’s concerts earlier in March in Las Vegas. It was after that concert that Calvin Harris told Capital FM that she “looks lovely” but is not his “type.”

Either Taylor Swift turned out to be his type or Calvin Harris changed what he perceives his “type” to be, because it’s pretty clear these two have been spending quite a bit of time together.

It was only a little over a month ago when Calvin Harris and model Aarika Wolf parted ways. And Taylor Swift hasn’t dated anyone since that fateful New Years Eve split from One Direction’s Harry Styles back in 2013. In the past, however, she had a string of bad romances, including pairings with Jake Gyllenhaal, Joe Jonas, Conor Kennedy, Taylor Lautner, and John Mayer.

Last year while promoting her album 1989, Taylor Swift told E! News she hadn’t given up on dating, but was being “very protective” of her happiness.

“I found a place in my life that feels really great and I’m not willing to compromise that for just anyone, and so, you can paraphrase that all you want into something very extreme, but they make what I say extreme no matter what I say. I’m really happy about the fact that being single doesn’t feel like being alone,” the ‘Blank Space’ singer said. “I have love in my life, I just don’t have a relationship, and that feels really natural right now.”

“I’m not going to compromise the happiness and independence that I’ve found for just anybody. The idea of a date gives me a partial panic attack!” she added. “It includes 40 paparazzi cameras shooting through windows at us, and that’s not relaxing or alluring for me. That makes me want to crawl under the couch and hide! But I’m fine! I have two cats. That’s all I need.”

“It would take an astonishing human for me to even consider getting back into a relationship. It would take something really, really, really, really different—a kind of a one-in-a-million person for me to face all that. I don’t have any kid of idea who I’d want to be with, because I don’t have any pieces missing from my life right now. I’m not looking for anything to complete,” Taylor Swift said. “I think that’s a nice place to be.”

Do you think Calvin Harris–known best for hits including ‘Feel So Close,’ might be that one-in-a-million person for Taylor Swift?

It would no doubt shock her fans to see her settle down into a good relationship.

  • Katy Perry and John Mayer Reportedly Break Up — Again

Katy Perry and John Mayer have reportedly broken up again just two months after rekindling their romance.

According to Radar Online, the on-again, off-again couple have called it quits once again.

Multiple sources for the media outlet have said the reconciliation between Katy Perry and John Mayer was nothing more of a convenience thing than anything else.

“Katy and John reconnected once she had a break in her Prismatic World Tour. So, for those few months they had a great time, pretending that it would last — and of course it didn’t,” the source said.

Katy Perry and John Mayer split the first time February 2014, after Perry reportedly caught him cheating.

This time around, the pressures of their respective careers apparently prevented Katy Perry, 30, and John Mayer from having a lasting relationship.

“The reason they have split in the past is because Katy gets busy. John can’t handle the lack of attention, and she can’t handle the trust issues she has when she’s so far away,” the source said. “So they’ve learned that it’s better to just take a break when they can’t be in the same place.”

It’s also reported that jealousy rears its ugly head in the 37-year-old John Mayer.

“The fact that he does not have anything major going on with his career is really starting to take a toll on their relationship,” the source said. “Katy is at an all-time high. She is starting to give in to what everyone around her is saying, that maybe she is too good for him.”

Radar is also reporting that Katy Perry may already be moving on and was seen hanging out with Mumford and Sons banjoist Winston Marshall in Berlin on Saturday.

  • Katy Perry Re-Ignites Romance With John Mayer, Invites Lenny Kravitz to Superbowl Stage

Katy Perry is having a very good start to 2015.

Not only are Perry, 30, and John Mayer, 37, officially a couple once again, she also is preparing to wow the world, along with Lenny Kravitz, at this year’s Superbowl halftime show.

Nearly a year after breaking up, the Firework singer and Mayer stunned A-list stars when they made a dramatic entrance together on Thursday at Hollywood hot spot the Tower Bar, according to Page Six.

Katy Perry and John Mayer walked in together, arm in arm, and the whole room literally fell silent,” an insider told the newspaper, which reported that the couple frequented the restaurant on a regular basis when they were previously dating.

“Even Dimitri Dimitrov — Hollywood’s most famous maitre d’, who has seen everything — and Sunset Tower owner Jeff Klein both stopped mid-sentence when John and Katy arrived, as if they wanted to announce to everyone in Hollywood they are back together,” said the source.

It was a busy night at the Tower Bar, according to Page Six. Director and producer Lee Daniels was having dinner at a nearby table with Naomi Campbell. At another table were American Sniper director Clint Eastwood, with a table of powerful Hollywood producers. Liz Goldwyn was spotted with Dita Von Teese, and Kid Cudi was dining with Bryan Greenberg and Jamie Chung.

Meanwhile, on Saturday, Perry announced via Twitter that Kravitz will join Perry on stage during next month’s Pepsi Super Bowl XLIX Halftime Show.

  • Katherine Heigl Threatened Husband Josh Kelley That She’d Date John Mayer to Get Him to Commit

Katherine Heigl recently revealed some interesting facts about how she snagged her husband, singer Josh Kelley.

The State of Affairs actress told Meredith Vieira on her show that she once threatened to date John Mayer in order to get her husband to commit.

“Around the same time I met Josh, I also met John Mayer,” said Heigl. “John Mayer and I are from neighboring towns and knew some of the same people. My Josh had gone off on tour and was playing hard to get. So I didn’t know — are we a thing? Are we a couple?”

The 35-year-old actress said that she was also spending time with Mayer. Heigl said the relationship with Mayer was completely platonic, but that didn’t keep the sneaky girl from letting Kelley think there might be more to it in order to get his attention.

“So, we were just hanging out a little bit but I completely used John to get Josh to commit,” Heigl admitted.

“These musicians, they are competitive and jealous of each other,” Heigl said. “[So] over the phone, because he was on tour, I was like, ‘Josh, I’ve got to be honest. I just want to know where we stand because if not, I might try to pursue something with John.’”

She told Vieira that she finally confessed her ruse to Kelley a few years later.

“[I confessed] probably a year into our marriage. I was like, ‘You got played!’” she said.

All’s well that ends well, however. Heigl and Kelley did marry in December 2009, four years after meeting in 2005 when she played his love interest in his Only You music video. They are the parents of daughters Naleigh, five, and Adalaide, two.

  • Taylor Swift Not Interested in Dating

Taylor Swift sizzles on the November cover of British Vogue, and no doubt catches the eye of every man who lays eyes on the magazine–but the ‘Shake It Off‘ singer isn’t interested in dating any of them–at least not right now.

“Dating or finding someone is the last thing on my mind,” she says within its pages. “I can’t picture how it could work with the way my life is. I don’t know how a guy is supposed to walk next to his girlfriend when there are 20 men with cameras, and he can’t protect his girlfriend because that’s the life she chose.”

Swift doesn’t stop there either. In fact, she insists that not only isn’t she seeking a relationship, but is actively avoiding one.

“I just don’t see how it could work, so I don’t think about it, and I kind of run from it when it presents itself,” she said. “I don’t think any guy really… They think that they would want to get to know me, and maybe date me, but I don’t think they want what comes with it.”

Taylor Swift hasn’t had the greatest luck when it comes to dating. Things with Harry Styles, Jake Gyllenhaal, and John Mayer all turned sour rather quickly.

Dating–or its avoidance–isn’t the only thing the singer dishes about in British Vogue. She also talks about her new album–1989–which features all-pop tracks instead of her usual country genre.

“This time around I’ve chosen the brave and bold way of going about things,” she says in her magazine interview. “Because with this album I’ve completely changed the sound of everything I’ve done until now. So it’s interesting to not be afraid of that. You know, I don’t want to hurt people’s feelings, I don’t want to betray Nashville, whatever, but essentially it comes down to challenging yourself as an artist.”

So guys, if you had any notion of dating Taylor Swift any time soon, it doesn’t sound like you stand a chance. And actually, if you listen to the rumors of her splits from Harry Styles, Jake Gyllenhaal, and John Mayer–it doesn’t really sound like she’s an easy woman to date.

Taylor Swift is adamant that she is ‘Never Ever Getting Back Together’ with Harry Styles. Maybe the other guys feel okay about that, too?

  • Katy Perry Shares How She Learned to Love Herself After Painful Breakups

Katy Perry has been proactive in dealing with the emotional aftermath following her divorce from Russell Brand in 2012 and her breakup with John Mayer in February.

Instead of pining away and lingering in the post-breakup blues, Perry got out of the doldrums by working on her inner-self through therapy sessions. She has walked away from those sessions with a renewed outlook about herself and future relationships.

“What I’ve learned is that if you don’t have the foundation of self-love first, you really have nowhere to pull love from to give it away,” the 29-year-old singer told Harper’s Bazaar in an interview for its October issue.

“I had to learn about taking care of myself before I could take care of others. I want to mommy everyone. I want to take care of them. I want to save them, and I forget myself in the meantime. I learned that through therapy,” she said.

Perry said she also learned that if she can’t find someone who will love her for her strengths and business savvy, it’s just not worth it. According to the magazine, the powerhouse entertainer has sold more than 13 million albums and 72 million digital singles.

“A lot of times I’ve ended up with people who have been intimidated by me, unfortunately. They say they’re not, but it comes out in the long run. They’re threatened, or there’s resentment because they don’t know how to handle it,” she said. “I’m looking for someone who’s inspired and could be inspiring with me.”

While she possesses a positive outlook for a future love interest, Perry revealed that she’s not really into the whole dating scene.

“Well I’m not really on the street,” she says. “It’s usually just friends of friends. We have a lot of dinner parties. I’m definitely not on Tinder, even though I joke about it.”

  • Katy Perry Opens Up About What She Learned From Divorce

Divorce is never easy for anyone, and Katy Perry is no different. In a recent interview for her August cover issue of Rolling Stone, Perry shared a few lessons she learned from her divorce from Russell Brand in 2011.

“Now I know—first and foremost, self-love, and then give love away,” she said. “Back then it was mostly just me giving love away. I went through my ‘return of Saturn,’ is what they call it. It’s this kind of astrological thing they talk about, when the planet Saturn comes to teach you lessons, and either you reject them or accept them. And I accepted those lessons that I needed to learn. And if you reject them, it’s your midlife crisis that comes around at 50.”

The Roar singer has had her share of celebrity romances — from long-term relationships with John Mayer and Brand to fleeting hook-ups with Josh Groban and Robert Pattinson — and knows what it can be like to try to nuture a relationship in the public eye. Even so, Perry says it is unlikely she would date anyone who wasn’t famous.

“I’ve done that before,” she said “It’s not that they have to be famous, although there’s a level of understanding when they’re in the same business, you know?”

The 29-year-old said she believes only a famous person could really understand what it means to live in the spotlight.

“They understand what it means when you’re tired from a show or the tour’s exhausting you or if an interview went wrong—they know all the ins and outs, so you can just walk in to the house with a certain face and they understand, you know? said Perry. “Rather than, like, having to explain everything and that takes two, three hours.”

  • John Mayer Launching Reality TV Show?

John Mayer Launching Reality TV Show?

Reality TV is all the rage, and it doesn’t look like it will be going away anytime soon. Survivor has been running for 28 seasons. The Bachelor has 18 seasons. And America’s Got Talent has nine. But The Real World has them all beat at 29 seasons.

Reality TV works well as an investment for television, because the expenses are so much lower. It is appealing even to smaller production companies, who can afford to grab a niche topic — such as a family who makes duck calls, or a toothless fellow who chases turtles — and develop it into a goldmine. You can even watch people stand around bidding on forfeited storage units or pawning their belongings.

So when celebrity musician John Mayer said he had an idea for a reality TV show, it wasn’t much of a stretch for someone to sit up and take notice. Launching a reality show with a celebrity name already attached is bound to be a winning proposition. And, as an added bonus, Mayer wants another celebrity to host it.

Mayer told Us Weekly that he wants to do a show called My Funny Friend. The idea is that everyone has a friend that they think is so funny that they should be a comedian Well, My Funny Friend gives your funny friend the chance to make that dream come true.

“Everyone thinks they have a buddy who’s so hysterical, he or she should be in comedy,” says Mayer. “People nominate their friends, and they go through a series of evaluations to determine if they’re actually funny or not.”

Mayer even knows who he wants to host the show. He has named Anthony Bourdain, whose acerbic wit is a hit on his travel and food programs, to be the face and voice of the effort.

If the America’s Got Talent show can be used as a comparison, only one comedian has ever even been a runner-up in that competition.

  • John Mayer Wants To Create A Comedy Reality Show

John Mayer is well known for crooning love songs and dating Hollywood starlets, but now he’s looking to add reality TV to the mix? Us Weekly reveals this week that John Mayer, a confessed lover of reality television, has the perfect new show, and he really wants it to be made.

The concept? A reality competition show called “My Funny Friend.” John gives Us Weekly the details: “Everyone thinks they have a buddy who’s so hysterical, he or she should be in comedy. People nominate their friends, and they go through a series of evaluations to determine if they’re actually funny or not.”

John thinks his show has potential due to its “human-interest angle.” “Think how much joy there is in seeing a friend happy!’” Mayer says. John may be forgetting the other side of the coin, here: what about those deemed unfunny? “It’s one thing watching someone sing badly, but it’s another thing someone being told that they’re sense of humour is a load of crap. It’s a bit personal,” Heat World says, who thinks the show would be “awful.”

Awful or not, John’s really gunning for it to happen, and even wants Anthony Bourdain to host. John admits he’s somewhat obsessed with reality television, and doesn’t think anyone should feel ashamed for watching shows like The Bachelor. “I don’t even feel like it’s my fault for liking it,” he says. “It’s not a guilty pleasure. It’s designed to be a pleasure.”

Perhaps John should just stick to the music; his folk-rock cover of Beyonce’s “XO” has gone viral in the last week. The cover, which he did on a whim while on tour in Australia, has been officially recorded and released and is already No. 13 on this week’s Billboard charts (Beyonce’s version peaked at No. 45). Listen to the cover below:

Mayer’s last successful single was “Who You Love,” which he recorded with now ex-girlfriend Katy Perry. Although the split is still fresh for both of them, there seems to be no hard feelings, as we’ve previously reported. “I have a lot of respect for [John] still, and I know it goes both ways,” she said. “There’s no bad blood, but I’m sure there will be inspired songs.”

  • Katy Perry Opens Up About John Mayer Split

Earlier this year, Katy Perry separated from her on-again-off-again boyfriend John Mayer.

During a recent interview with Chelsea Handler, for the July issue of Cosmopolitan magazine, the pop superstar finally opened up about the split and revealed there are no hard feelings.

“Sometimes you have to go through all this sh*t to get your grips on life. You have to go through the mud in order to find that peaceful place,” Perry told Handler.

Katy explained that she doesn’t harbor any resentment for John and still respects him and his music. “I know it sounds really hippie sh*t, but I’m living in the now and not fantasizing about the future or [being] torn up about the past. I’m super Eckhart Tolle. I have a lot of respect for [John] still, and I know it goes both ways,” she said. “There’s no bad blood, but I’m sure there will be inspired songs.”

Perry was previously married to Russell Brand, but their marriage ended in 2012, after only 14 months. Although, she has had to failed relationships in two years, Katy still remains hopeful that she will find the right guy for her; a guy that will love her for who she is. “I guess I happen to be attracted to high-frequency men,” she joked.

“I like when I can really be myself, wear less makeup, have off-color humor right off the bat,” she revealed. “When I can scare them with the truth and they’re not scared. I think when I’m myself is when I’m probably the most attractive to someone else.”

  • Tokyo Earthquake Doesn’t Cause Much Trouble, Rattles John Mayer

Tokyo earthquakes aren’t all that uncommon. In fact, the entire region is somewhat unstable thanks to the geological makeup of the islands. It’s still unsettling to feel the earth rumble, especially since the wounds from the 2011 Tohoku earthquake still haven’t healed.

Reuters is reporting that Tokyo and surrounding regions was hit by an earthquake early Monday morning. The quake was said to have hit 6.2 magnitude on the Richter scale and had an epicenter 160 km below the ocean. Thankfully, no damage has been reported and everything, including nuclear power plants, are operating smoothly.

Even if it caused no damage, a 6.2 magnitude earthquake is nothing to scoff at. It’s still easily felt and those living in and visiting Tokyo certainly felt it. It’s not uncommon to see celebrities in Japan and singer John Mayer was tweeting about it today. He said it was the biggest he’s ever felt while staying in the country.

A more somber note came from Nintendo of America’s Bill Trinen who says today’s earthquake shared an epicenter with the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923.

For those unaware, the Great Kanto Earthquake was the worst earthquake in Japanese history up until 2011. A total of 105,385 people died with many perishing in the fires that erupted in the aftermath. While Monday’s earthquake was nowhere even close to the one that struck the Kanto region in 1923, it still rattles the nerves to think that something like that could happen again so soon after the events of 2011. After all, Japan is still hurting after an earthquake and tsunami that killed thousands and crippled the nuclear reactor in Fukushima.

While some were worried or reflecting on the past, others found humor:

The last time Tokyo was hit by an earthquake was in December of last year. The earthquake was recorded at 5.5 magnitude so one could surmise that they’re only getting stronger. We can only hope that Tokyo and Japan as a whole gets a break. After what happened in 2011 and the years since, they’ve earned it.

  • Katy Perry Spotted with Producer Diplo

Katy Perry Spotted with Producer Diplo

Pop star Katy Perry has been spotted with Los Angeles-based DJ, music producer, rapper and songwriter Wesley Pentz, a.k.a Diplo. The two were seen at the Amazing Spider-Man 2 after-party at Skylight at Moynihan Station in Manhattan, and were “very affectionate, very lovey-dovey,” a source told People Magazine. The source added that as they left the gathering, “they quickly separated. She didn’t want it to look like they were together, but they were.”

Interestingly, Perry, 29, was recently spotted with rapper and performance artist Riff Raff, also known as Horst Christian Simco. Riff Raff happens to be on the roster of Diplo’s own Mad Decent record label, and has been working with the producer on his oft-delayed record entitled Neon Icon, which is set to be released … sometime.

On Friday night, Perry and Diplo attended a birthday party at 1Oak where he performed. The two had previously been seen together at Coachella, and according to a source, “They were hanging out all (Saturday) night at the Jeremy Scott party – and they hung out all day Sunday at Coachella. They checked out Alesso together.”

Perry might simply be working on some sort of musical collaboration with Diplo, 35, and his Mad Decent underlings, after coming off of an abrupt breakup with John Mayer. Perry had dumped Mayer last month, after he allegedly cheated on her with General Hospital actress Kelly Monaco.

Mayer, who once described Jessica Simpson as being “sexual napalm,” apparently failed to understand the concept of using a burner phone to communicate with his paramours, and was busted and promptly let go. A source revealed that “Katy found texts on his phone. She was devastated and realized he’s a sex fiend who isn’t capable of telling the truth.”

During the early stages of his career, Diplo (named after the dinosaur Diplodocus) produced M.I.A.’s hit Paper Planes, and went on to work with Beyoncé, No Doubt, Justin Bieber, Usher, Snoop Lion and G-Dragon.

Perhaps Perry either took a dip in a swimming pool before letting her hair dye and its intended color dry, or maybe she’s fallen under a deeper influence of the zany-haired rapper Riff Raff.
