  • Teresa Giudice Shows Off Lavish Lifestyle Before Sentencing

A sentencing is not exactly a life event that many people throw parties for, but Teresa Giudice and her husband went against the flow and hit the club last weekend for hers. The star of reality show The Real Housewives of New Jersey and her husband Joe Giudice recently hosted a “Stay Strong” party on the weekend before their October 2 sentencing at Pure Lounge in Parsippany, New Jersey.

According to RadarOnline.com, the Giudices partied with friends and family, looking as if they had no worries ahead. They reportedly joked around and ate cake to celebrate the couple’s last days of freedom. Teresa’s sentencing on Thursday has her facing up to 27 months in prison for mail and wire fraud, bankruptcy fraud and failure to pay taxes, but this didn’t seem to dampen anyone’s spirits at the party.

The Giudice party might not look good for Teresa in terms of her legal issues. RadarOnline.com reported that Teresa’s lawyers have already reprimanded their client for agreeing to sport a $2,000 Valentino bag on a recent episode of The Real Housewives of New Jersey.

“After reading the report of Teresa carrying such a high priced designer bag, her lawyers were furious. It just looks bad after coming out of her bankruptcy drama. Teresa told her attorneys that the producers asked her to carry the designer handbag, and she felt obligated to do so, but they were still mad and told her to keep quiet,” said an insider.

The source further revealed that Teresa’s reality fame is hurting her. “All of her bad behavior is caught on camera, and there is a chance the judge or prosecutors could use that against her,” the source said.

Because of this, Teresa’s lawyers have placed a gag order on her, banning her from posting on social media until after her sentencing. On September 23, Teresa announced on her Bravo blog that she would be keeping mum for a while but would update her fans as soon as she could.

  • Teresa Giudice Feels “Numb” About Possible Jail Time

Last Sunday’s episode of the Real Housewives of New Jersey was a heartbreaking peek into how the Giudice family is handling possible jail time for both Teresa Giudice and her husband, Joe Guidice.

The reality TV star was in tears as she talked about her decision to plead guilty to fraud and conspiracy in her bankruptcy case. “I’m feeling numb,” Giudice said “I can’t believe this is my life.”

“Today I took responsibility for a series of mistakes I made several years ago … I express remorse … I am heartbroken this is affecting my family, especially my four young daughters who mean more to me than anything in this world,” said Giudice in a statement as read by her lawyer.

The Giudice’s 13-year-old daughter, Gia was also in tears, saying she knows what her parents were going through. “I obviously know what’s going on,” she said. “I’m old enough to understand.”

Their sentencing was initially scheduled on September 23 but their lawyers requested for a postponement to October 2 to allow them more time to prepare their briefs.

An insider said that their lawyers hope to reduce the couple’s jail time, if not avoid time completely.  “There was nothing unusual in Teresa’s lawyers asking for the sentencing date to be pushed back two weeks. The lawyers are in the final stages of preparing their sentencing brief, and just needed some additional time to gather more facts. It’s about giving Joe and Teresa the chance of getting no jail time, and probation in the case,” said the source.

Radar Online reported that the source further said: “Teresa has been telling friends she doesn’t think there is any way the judge will send her to prison because she is a mother of four girls. Teresa is planning on saying she just went along with whatever her husband Joe gave her to sign, and never paid attention to the details.”

Meanwhile, TMZ reported that the couple has listed their New Jersey mansion for sale for $3.99M. Purchased in 2002, the property was expanded and extensively renovated by the couple and was reportedly worth $1.2M in 2012.
