  • Jodie Sweetin Pleases Judges With Nostalgic “Full House” Opening On “Dancing With The Stars”

Jodie Sweetin Pleases Judges With Nostalgic “Full House” Opening On “Dancing With The Stars”

Jodie Sweetin grew up in front of our eyes on the hit sitcom Full House, and like many child stars, she had her share of problems with drug and alcohol abuse during her teen years. Now that she’s back on television with Netflix’s Fuller House, she wants to prove to everyone that she’s taking her career comeback seriously and wants to make everyone proud.

The actress certainly did that with her premiere on Dancing With The Stars, filming an opening with dance partner Keo Motsepe that mirrors the opening credits on Full House before breaking into a tango that earned good scores from the judges.

Although Sweetin has had acting roles outside of Full House, it’s been a little bit since she had such a large audience, and she admitted in a pre-recorded segment on DWTS that she was nervous because she wanted to do her best.

“I’m worried about what other people think. When I was a kid I didn’t care if I looked stupid. Now as an adult I have this fear,” she told Motsepe.

Sweetin did impress the judges, who had only a couple of things to say in the way of constructive criticism.

“It got a bit hectic on occasions and you were doing strange things with your head…but you came out and you gave it some welly,” said Len Goodman.

Now that she’s fully immersed in the DWTS world, Jodie Sweetin says she knows she’ll be nervous every week because she understands what to expect. However, she’s getting a ton of support from her television family, who took to social media on Monday night to cheer her on.

“I’m not afraid to put myself out there and share my emotions with the world. Every day I’m working on facing my fears and becoming a better person. I feel great about how things went tonight, but that doesn’t mean I have any less fear about next week. I think I’ll be nervous every show,” Jodie told People.

Jodie Sweetin: “Fuller House” Wants Everyone to Vote for Her on “Dancing With the Stars”

Jodie Sweetin has danced since she was a little girl. She occasionally showed off her skills as Stephanie Tanner on Full House. Earlier this evening, the Fuller House Twitter account posted great shots of Jodie Sweetin with her pro partner Keo Motsepe.

Keo Motsepe’s post was retweeted, too.

Just a few minutes ago, Jodie Sweetin and Keo Motsepe performed. Fuller House wants to make sure everyone knows how to vote for their girl.

It’s plain to see that Jodie Sweetin and Keo Motsepe will be known throughout this 22nd season of Dancing With the Stars as Team MoSweet.

How do you think they did? Don’t you love how Fuller House is standing by Jodie Sweeting through every step she dances on the ballroom floor–and behind the scenes, too?

  • Jodie Sweetin To Star In New Docu-Comedy ‘Hollywood Darlings’ With Childhood Friends

American actress Jodie Sweetin will reunite with her Hollywood childhood friends, Beverley Mitchell and Christine Lakin in a new TV series entitled Hollywood Darlings, which is expected to premiere in 2017.

Sweetin, 34, whose Fuller House from Netflix has been approved for a second season, will star in the docu-comedy, which aims to showcase the real-life fun that the three friends go through every day.

According to a report, a docu-comedy is a series wherein scenes are edited to make them funny rather than dramatic.

Starting their careers at an early age, Sweetin was popular in the TV series Full House, while Mitchell, 35, gained fame for playing Lucy Camden in 7th Heaven. Lakin, 37, on the other hand, was notable for her role as Alicia Lambert in Step by Step.

Hollywood Darlings is a half-hour pop show that will follow the real-life roles of the three friends as they take on the challenges of becoming “moms, wives, and businesswomen.”

“Anyone who was a TV fan in the ‘90s grew up with Jodie, Christine and Beverley –aspiring to be their best friends, wanting to dress like them and using their popular catchphrases,” said Paul Adler, Pop’s senior vice president of original programing and development.

In addition, Adler said that the show will allow the viewers and fans to get a glimpse of the lives of the three former child stars and find out how entertaining and relatable their routines are.

“Yay! I love these ladies, and we’re going to have so much fun!” said Jodie Sweetin in an Instagram post.

According to another report by E! Online, viewers of the upcoming TV show should expect some celebrity cameos by virtue of their close friendships with the main characters of the show

The upcoming series will be produced by Objective Productions USA and All3Media America.

  • Jodie Sweetin Joins Beverley Mitchell, Christine Lakin in “Hollywood Dreams”

Jodie Sweetin is one busy lady. In addition to starring in Fuller House, the actress has signed on to Pop’s new unscripted docu-comedy, Hollywood Dreams. Fans of the 1990s will think they’ve gone back in time. In addition to Jodie Sweetin, Hollywood Dreams will also star Beverley Mitchell of 7th Heaven fame and Christine Lakin of Step by Step.

“Our childhood characters prepared us for the roles of our lives… literally. There really aren’t words to describe the way we grew up and the bond we share, so we decided that we wanted to give a glimpse into our unique sisterhood,” Jodie Sweetin, Christine Lakin and Beverley Mitchell said in a joint statement. “Our fans have always been at the heart of it all, and we love that we have found a home on Pop. We’re so excited to go on this journey and take people inside our lives post-childhood fame.”

Hollywood Dreams is about “three lifelong friends who grew up together in ‘the business,’ became household names and now take on even bigger roles as moms, wives and businesswomen.”

Paul Adler is the senior vice president of original programming and development at Pop. He issued a statement about the upcoming series, as well as about Jodie Sweetin, Christine Lakin, and Beverley Mitchell.

“Anyone who was a TV fan in the 90s grew up with Jodie, Christine and Beverley–aspiring to be their best friends, wanting to dress like them and using their popular catchphrases,” the statement reads. “Hollywood Darlings provides an amazing opportunity for viewers to reignite their fandom for this now grown-up trio whose lives are as entertaining as they are relatable.”

Jodie Sweetin recently learned that Fuller House has been renewed for a second season. She’s going to be one very busy lady when production starts for Hollywood Dreams. No premiere date for the show has yet been announced.

Were you a Full House, 7th Heaven, or Step by Step fan in the 1990s? It might be fun to watch Jodie Sweetin, Beverley Mitchell, and Christine Lakin in their new, grownup roles.

  • Paige VanZant To Put On Her Dancing Shoes for ‘DWTS’

Paige VanZant, a UFC strawweight, will be trading her fighting gear for a dress and dancing shoes as she joins the cast of Dancing with the Stars for Season 22.

VanZant, 21, joins other celebrities and sports stars, including Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown, Fuller House star Jodie Sweetin and Super Bowl champion Von Miller, lined up to compete for the coveted Mirror Ball Trophy.

According to Fox Sports, VanZant is the first UFC fighter to join the series as an active competitor. UFC Hall of Famers Chuck Liddell and Randy Couture appeared on the show, but didn’t compete.

It seems as if VanZant will be a natural on the show, considering she danced competitively throughout her childhood before she became a star for mixed martial arts fighting.

“I hope so,” VanZant said in a telephone interview from New York. “I hope I’m able to channel some of that and do well.”

VanZant is ranked seventh in the women’s 115-pound division and made her promotional debut in November 2014.

The next few months will be busy ones for VanZant. She is expected to continue training for her return to the Octagon later this year while competing on the show.

VanZant says she is targeting UFC 200 for her next fight but she’ll look to knock out a Dancing with the Stars championship first.

Season 22 premiers March 21 on ABC.

  • Jodie Sweetin Gets Shamed By Miley Cryus With Raunchy Instagram Post

Fuller House member Jodie Sweetin has responded to the controversy caused by the racy throwback photo of herself that was recently posted by singer Miley Cyrus on her Instagram page. The actress says she has no time to focus on negative issues.

“I don’t pay attention to negative stuff,” the actress told E! “I have so much good stuff going on in my life right now that I try not to pay attention,” Sweetin said, apparently choosing not to let the controversial Instagram post affect her.

On March 4, Cyrus posted throwback photos of a young Sweetin straddling a tattooed guy whose face was photoshopped with a blurry pic of her Fuller House co-star Dave Coulier. The Instagram post captioned, “Current Mood #fullerhouse only you freaks take this as shaming! To me it looks like Stephanie is having a f—ing g– ol time!” has earned over 142,000 likes.

A source told HollywoodLife.com that the “Wrecking Ball” singer “didn’t mean to cause any harm” with her Instagram post.

“Miley didn’t mean to cause any harm with her Jodie Sweetin post, she was just having a bit of fun,” explained the source. “She sexualizes everything, and she wasn’t poking fun at Jodie’s drug use or anything like that. Miley’s actually been watching the new Fuller House, so that’s what made her think of it. She didn’t feel it was inappropriate. She actually felt that Jodie was showing off her sexier side in the pics being normally so wholesome in the show.”

Jodie Sweetin previously chronicled her struggles with drug and alcohol abuse and her journey to sobriety in her 2009 memoir, UnSweetined. She said that she considers her on-screen family from Full House a real family since she has known them for 30 years now, and they have supported her during her struggles.

  • Jodie Sweetin And Miley Cyrus Respond To That Raunchy Photo

Jodie Sweetin and Miley Cyrus have both responded to the backlash that ensued when Cyrus posted a photo of Sweetin from several years ago, which shows her partying with friends and straddling a man’s lap.

The original post was captioned “Current mood: Fuller House” and showed Jodie sitting on an unidentified man’s lap at what appears to be a party. Sweetin has been open about her past drug use during her wilder days, but is now five years sober and is married with children. After Cyrus shared the photo on Instagram, fans took to social media to condemn the post, saying it was cruel; now, Sweetin and Cyrus have both responded, with Sweetin saying she doesn’t pay attention to negative things anymore.

“I don’t pay attention to negative stuff. I have so much good stuff going on in my life right now that I try not to pay attention,” Sweetin told E! News.

The Fuller House star does have a lot of good things going on these days; not only does she have a successful reboot on Netflix (that just got picked up for a second season), she’ll also appear on the upcoming season of Dancing With The Stars.

Miley Cyrus, meanwhile, came back to Instagram to defend her post, saying she simply thought Sweetin looked like she was having a good time in the photos.

“Only you freaks take this as shaming! To me it looks like Stephanie is having a f**king gay ol time!”

Fuller House has earned quite a fanbase of loyal followers eager to feed their nostalgia, and while the show hasn’t gotten the best critical reviews, fans seem very happy with it. Most of the original cast returned for the reboot, which follows DJ (Candace Cameron Bure) as she navigates life as a single mom following the death of her husband.

  • “Fuller House” Cast Supports Jodie Sweetin’s “Dancing With the Stars” Gig

The Fuller House cast is behind Jodie Sweetin as she prepares to compete on the upcoming season of Dancing With the Stars. Sweetin recently reprised her role as Stephanie Tanner on the Full House reboot.

“I think so many people know me as Stephanie and as that character, which is amazing and there’s been incredible support for it,” Sweetin said in an interview with People magazine on Tuesday. “But now I get to show people who I am and also, I kind of get to find out stuff about myself.”

Jodie Sweetin isn’t the first of her Fuller House cast mates to compete on Dancing With the Stars. Candace Cameron Bure, who plays DJ Tanner, competed on season 18 of Dancing With the Stars, alongside Mark Ballas. She can’t wait to see her Fuller House co-star compete.

“I am so ready; I am more than ready,” she told E! News when Sweetin confirmed she was competing. “I am just there. I will try not to take over for her because I might nudge myself back onto that dance floor.”

Jodie Sweetin has met her dance partner, Keo Motsepe, and thinks they are a good match. The Fuller House star will compete against Good Morning America’s Ginger Zee, The O.C.’s Mischa Barton, Denver Broncos linebacker (and recent Super Bowl MVP) Von Miller, TV news personality Geraldo Rivera, The Facts of Life and The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kim Fields, UFC Fighter Paige VanZant, Boyz II Men’s Wanya Morris, former NFL quarterback Doug Flutie, America’s Next Top Model winner Nyle DiMarco, Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown and actress (and ex-wife of current GOP hopeful Donald Trump) Marla Maples.

It will be fun to watch Jodie Sweetin compete on season 22 of Dancing With the Stars. It will be fun to see if her Fuller House cast mates show up in the audience from time to time, too.

The new season of DWTS premieres on March 21.

  • Jodie Sweetin Fans Ripping Miley Cyrus For Posting Racy Photos Of Stephanie Tanner’s Drug And Alcohol Abuse Days

Jodie Sweetin is a far cry from the wholesome Stephanie Tanner in pics posted by Miley Cyrus over the weekend.

Miley Cyrus posted the pics to Instagram with the caption “Current Mood #fullerhouse”

The pics show Jodie Sweetin straddling a shady-looking dude during her younger drug and alcohol abusing days.

Miley Cyrus may have got a laugh or two from the photos, but Jodie Sweetin likely didn’t find them very funny.

I mean, no one who is a former abuser wants to have those days shoved back in their face. Especially in the midst of a career comeback, which Jodie Sweetin is definitely experiencing.

    Current Mood #fullerhouse

A photo posted by Miley Cyrus (@mileycyrus) on

Jodie Sweetin hasn’t said anything about the post publicly yet, but sources have already tried to come to Miley’s defense.

One source reportedly said, “Miley didn’t mean to cause any harm with her Jodie Sweetin post, she was just having a bit of fun. She sexualizes everything, and she wasn’t poking fun at Jodie’s drug use or anything like that. Miley’s actually been watching the new Fuller House, so that’s what made her think of it.”

The source added, “She didn’t feel it was inappropriate. She actually felt that Jodie was showing off her sexier side in the pics being normally so wholesome in the show.”

The source went on to added, “She would never poke fun at someone’s addiction problems or substance abuse.”

However, despite the defense, Miley Cyrus has ticked off a lot of people.

One comment said, “What happened to your antibully stance?”

Another said, “You’re jealous of her light. Truly sad.”

Yet another said, “Is Miley for real? You want to try to embarrass someone on mistakes they’ve made in their past? LOLOLOL pot, meet kettle.”

What do you think about Miley posting those pics of a younger and wilder Jodie Sweetin?

  • “Fuller House” Star Candace Cameron Bure Gets Into The Wrestling Ring

Fuller House has kept fans entertained over the past couple of weeks since it debuted on Netflix, and its stars are having a field day with everything that’s being thrown at them, including having to learn wrestling moves.

Candace Cameron Bure, who plays DJ on the reboot of the classic show, spoke in an interview recently about what it was like to get into the wrestling ring for an episode, where she refused to let a stunt woman step in and have all the fun. Fans in the live studio audience were shocked that she was doing all the moves, but Bure says it wasn’t that big a deal.

“I’m not an athlete and I’m not a gymnast, but I’ve always loved any type of sport and fitness and I love running Tough Mudder or Spartan races and anything that’s strength…They were all nervous that I wouldn’t do it and they didn’t want me to get hurt. I’m like, “Listen, I know I can do it.” All the producers watched the first cut and they couldn’t believe that I was doing it. It was so much fun; I had a blast,” Bure said.

Candace says she had a couple of days to practice, then filmed the scene on the third day, so there wasn’t a lot of time to prepare. She still nailed the moves, however, and shared photos of the day with her Instagram fans.

Fuller House was recently picked up for a second season, much to the delight of fans, but it’s still unclear whether the Olsen twins will make an appearance. There have been several rumors floating around regarding their absence from the first season–John Stamos says they declined to come back with all the other original actors because they haven’t been on camera in a long time–but a new rumor has started online about Bob Saget talking up Ashley Olsen at a recent movie premiere.

The stars are already getting their first taste of what it’s like to star on a hit show in the age of digital and social media; both Bure and co-star Jodie Sweetin have been in the headlines quite a bit in recent weeks after Christian groups went after them for their wardrobe and non-family friendly behavior on the show, and Miley Cyrus decided to share old photos of Sweetin over the weekend which show her in her party days, straddling a man’s lap in revealing clothing.

  • Jodie Sweetin: Miley Cyrus Posts Raunchy Photos of “Fuller House’s” Stephanie Tanner

Jodie Sweetin appears online in a rather compromising position, thanks to “Wrecking Ball” singer Miley Cyrus. The former Hannah Montana star posted the pic in recent days of Fuller House’s Stephanie Tanner straddling a man, during her drinking and drugging days.

The raunchy picture of Jodie Sweetin has caused a bit of an upset among Miley Cyrus fans, who firmly believe she shouldn’t have posted the shot.

Cyrus posted the pictures on her Instagram account, and captioned them as follows.

    “Current Mood #fullerhouse,” she wrote.

A photo posted by Miley Cyrus (@mileycyrus) on

A source tells HollywoodLife.com that Miley Cyrus didn’t mean to cause Jodie Sweetin any harm.

Really? She certainly didn’t post the pic because she believed it was flattering to Jodie Sweetin.

“Miley didn’t mean to cause any harm with her Jodie Sweetin post, she was just having a bit of fun,” the source explains.

The source also adds that Miley Cyrus didn’t expect the backlash she has received since posting the Jodie Sweetin shots on Thursday.

Is Miley Cyrus completely stupid? What actress would want a photo from her days battling substance abuse posted on the internet–especially at the same time her new TV show premieres?

It definitely sounds like Miley was up to no good when she shared these pictures of Jodie Sweetin. How do you suppose Liam Hemsworth feels about his alleged fiancee’s complete lack of empathy?

  • Stephanie Tanner: Jodie Sweetin’s Character Shares Intimate Emotional Turmoil in Episode Five of “Fuller House”

Stephanie Tanner, the character played by actress Jodie Sweetin in the Netflix reboot Fuller House, shares a very profound disappointment with her sister in the fifth episode of the new show.

TVLine.com shared the spoiler in recent days.

Stephanie Tanner is the only one of Fuller House’s three leading ladies without children. Both DJ Tanner (played by Candace Cameron Bure) and Kimmy Gibbler (played by Andrea Barber) are moms.

Stephanie Tanner is more of a free spirit. She sings, goes on dates, and lives a less settled life than her roommates.

Fuller House series creator Jeff Franklin and executive producer Robert Boyett explain the story behind Stephanie Tanner’s turmoil.

“First of all, I didn’t want Stephanie to have children,” Franklin tells TVLine.com. “I wanted one of the three to not have kids. The backstory I created for her was that she’s a free spirit, traveling the world. She’s into her career and into having fun, and I thought this would be a really interesting aspect to that character–and touching. I love the way that scene played between the two girls. I thought they knocked it out of the park.”

The scene Franklin is referring to is the one in season five when Stephanie Tanner tells sister DJ she can’t have kids. She and DJ Tanner share an intimate conversation that packs an emotional punch. Candace Cameron Bure and Jodie Sweetin are exceptional in this poignant moment on screen.

The notion of Stephanie Tanner pursuing motherhood via other options hasn’t yet been ruled out.

“That may be something that’s referenced again in the series,” Robert Boyett tells TVLine.

Does this turmoil Stephanie Tanner faces in episode five of Fuller House come as a shock to you? Did you expect she, like DJ Tanner and Kimmy Gibbler, would one day bring her kids to Fuller House as well?

  • Andrea Barber: “Fuller House” Star Talks “Gibbler Gallop”

Andrea Barber reprises her role as Kimmy Gibbler in the Netflix reboot of the 1990s hit show Full HouseFuller House. She and her cast mates are no doubt thrilled to learn–only days after the season one premiere–that Fuller House has already been renewed for a second season.

In a recent interview with TV Guide, Andrea Barber and two of her Fuller House cast mates–Candace Cameron Bure and Jodie Sweetin–were asked what is the strangest thing they’ve ever had to do when filming Fuller House.

All eyes turned to Andrea Barber, who no doubt did the most embarrassing thing on screen–so embarrassing, in fact, that Candace Cameron Bure and Jodie Sweetin didn’t even relive what they may or may not have done.

Andrea Barber–in her role as Kimmy Gibbler–performed a dance move called the “Gibbler Gallop.”

As you can well imagine, it doesn’t get much more embarrassing than that.

The “Gibbler Gallop” is all over Twitter, with some people making fun of it and others wanting a tutorial.

While Andrea Barber’s “Gibbler Gallop” might be embarrassing, there are indeed other moments in Fuller House that will leave viewers asking, “What?”

Have you tuned in to Fuller House on Netflix? What might you deem the most embarrassing moment?

Not everyone is convinced this reboot should have happened. Some, in fact, find the entire show embarrassing.

  • Carly Rae Jepsen Shares “Fuller House’ Theme Song With Ryan Seacrest

Carly Rae Jepsen is the voice behind the theme song, “Everywhere You Look,” on the Full House reboot, Fuller House, During a visit with Ryan Seacrest earlier this week, the Canadian singer shared her version.

Performed by Jesse Frederick during the opening of the episodes of Full House, Carly Rae Jepsen gives the song a new feel on Fuller House.

Ryan Seacrest was taken aback when he found out just how many verses there are to the song.

“I didn’t know the song had so many lyrics,” Seacrest admitted, as Carly Rae Jepsen read some of the lesser-known verses from her phone.

Unfortunately, some people feel Carly Rae Jepsen singing the Fuller House theme song is the only thing worth tuning in to the Netflix series for.

Have you checked out Fuller House, starring Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin, Kimmy Gibbler, John Stamos, Lori Loughlin, Bob Saget, Dave Coulier, and more? Were you a fan of the original show back in the 1990s?

What’s your take on the reboot? Might Carly Rae Jepsen truly be the best thing it has going for it after all?

  • Jodie Sweetin to Put On Her Dancing Shoes For ‘Dancing With the Stars’

Jodie Sweetin is ready to slip on her dancing shoes to join the cast of Season 22 of Dancing With the Stars.

There has been much media speculation that Sweetin would join the cast, but the news was made official on Wednesday during her appearance on Good Morning America.

Sweetin will be partnered with professional dancer Keo Mostepe.

Sweetin has turned down requests to appear on DWTS in the past because of scheduling conflicts. A self-declared huge fan of the show, Sweetin said she is very excited to hit the dance floor.

“I’ve always loved to dance, and Stephanie was a dancer on the show, and I danced growing up,” she said. “I have some experience. I have some rhythm.”

In February, Sweetin told E! News that appearing on Dancing With the Stars would be “really fun,” but declined to share whether she was joining the cast.

“I love dance and I think it would be really fun,” she said.

This is the second Fuller House star to appear on the dance competition. Costar Candace Cameron Bure previously appeared on DWTS and couldn’t stop talking about Sweetin and her new dance adventure.

“I am so ready; I am more than ready,” Cameron Bure told E! News. “I am just there. I will try not to take over for her because I might nudge myself back onto that dance floor.”

Sweetin has previewed a few dance sequences in Netflix’s sequel series Fuller House. Maks Chmerkovskiy and Val Chmerkovskiy of DWTS both appeared in an episode of the sitcom.

Sweetin told the GMA anchors her time with Val on Fuller House inspired her to commit to Season 22 of DWTS.

Who thinks Jodie Sweetin has a chance of winning the coveted Mirrorball Trophy?

  • Jodie Sweetin Confirms She’s Competing on “Dancing With the Stars”

Jodie Sweetin, who has reprised her role as Stephanie Tanner on the Netflix series Fuller House, confirmed on Wednesday she’ll compete on the upcoming season of Dancing With the Stars.

It was on Good Morning America that Jodie Sweetin shared her exciting news about season 22 of Dancing With the Stars.

There was some speculation earlier this month that Sweetin might join the upcoming DWTS cast, but nothing was confirmed at that time.

She told E! News competing would be “really fun.”

“I’ve always loved to dance, and Stephanie was a dancer on the show, and I danced growing up,” she said at the time. “I have some experience. I have some rhythm.”

Jodie Sweetin showed off her dancing talent as Stephanie Tanner in Full House.

Now that Jodie Sweetin has confirmed she’ll compete on season 22 of Dancing With the Stars, the next big question is about her dance pro partner. Jodie has been paired with pro dancer Keo Mostepe. He was paired with Chaka Khan during season 21.

Sweetin’s Fuller House co-star Candace Cameron Bure competed on season 18 of Dancing With the Stars, alongside Mark Ballas. They wound up in third place that season. Bure, who has reprised her role as DJ Tanner, can’t wait to see Jodie Sweetin compete.

“I am so ready; I am more than ready,” she says. “I am just there. I will try not to take over for her because I might nudge myself back onto that dance floor.”

Good Morning America will announce the rest of the season 22 Dancing With the Stars cast next week.

Will you cheer for Jodie Sweetin when season 22 of Dancing With the Stars premieres on March 21 on ABC?

  • Ashley Olsen, Sister Mary-Kate: How is Their Absence Explained in First, Subsequent Episodes of “Fuller House?”

Ashley Olsen and twin sister Mary-Kate–often referred to as the Olsen twins–are the only original Full House cast members who didn’t sign on to the reboot, Fuller House. Now that the series has premiered via Netflix, those who don’t subscribe are curious how the absence of Michelle Tanner–played by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen–is explained in the first episode.

E! News reports Michelle Tanner is sort of an afterthought in the first episode of Fuller House. In fact, the first reference lasts about 13 seconds, and appears to throw major shade at Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.

In the scene, Stephanie Tanner (played by Jodie Sweetin) asks her dad, Danny Tanner, (played by Bob Saget), where Michelle is.

“Well, Michelle sends her love, but she’s busy in New York running her fashion empire,” he says.

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, of course, run their own fashion empire in New York City.

Following the remark, the entire Fuller House cast–John Stamos, Lori Loughlin, Candace Cameron-Bure, Dave Coulier, Jodie Sweetin, Andrea Barber, and more–stare directly at the camera for what feels like an eternity.

Fast forward several more episodes. Yes, that’s right. The topic of Michelle Tanner doesn’t come up again until episode seven. Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber) and her daughter Ramona (played by Soni Nicole Bringas) return home from a NYC shopping trip. As they are preparing for Ramona’s birthday party, D.J. Tanner (Candace Cameron Bure) asks them how the trip went.

“Amazing,” Ramona says. “I got my first designer dress for the party. It’s an Elizabeth and James by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.”

“At these prices, no wonder they don’t need to act anymore,” Kimmy Gibbler says.

If that’s not shade directed squarely into the faces of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, then nothing is.

The final reference comes in the final episode of season one. It takes place as follows, in a phone call to Michelle Tanner.

Stephanie Tanner: “Oh, let’s call Michelle”

D.J. Tanner: “It’s five in the morning in New York.”

    Stephanie: “Ah, perfect. Aw, voicemail.”

Kimmy Gibbler: “Why you not come to my wedding? You’re in big trouble mister.”

    D.J.: “No way, Jose!”

    Stephanie: “Awww, nuts.”

    All: “You got it dude!”

At that is all the coverage Michelle Tanner–once played by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen–get in Fuller House.

Is the message here that Fuller House will be just fine even without Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen?

Fans will have to wait for the ratings to see about that.

  • Stephanie Tanner, Jodie Sweetin’s “Fuller House” Character, Romances San Francisco Giants Right Fielder in Episode 10

Stephanie Tanner is back. Jodie Sweetin has reprised her Full House role for the show’s Netflix reboot Fuller House. Now living in her childhood home alongside sister D.J. Tanner (played by Candace Cameron Bure) and D.J.’s best friend Kimmy Gibbler (played by Andrea Barber), Stephanie Tanner is single, so she loves going out on dates.

Romper.com reports that in season 10, Stephanie Tanner lands a date with San Francisco Giants right fielder Hunter Pence. It seems Pence gets Stephanie a gig singing at his baseball game, as well as tickets for the family to see the game and hear Stephanie Tanner sing.

In real life, Hunter Pence is engaged. He proposed to girlfriend Alexis Cozombolidis at Disney World in December.

In real life, Stephanie Tanner–well, the actor who plays her–is engaged, too. Jodie Sweetin and Justin Hodak announced their engagement last month.

Hodak shared a very romantic Instagram post in honor of Jodie Sweetin’s recent birthday.

“To my one and only @jodiesweetin. I love you more than anything. Happy Birthday. May we grow together for many more to come,” he captioned it.

  • Jodie Sweetin, Candace Cameron Bure, and Andrea Barber Talk About Their Kids’ Awareness of Moms as “Full House,” “Fuller House” Stars

Jodie Sweetin, Candace Cameron Bure, and Andrea Barber all all excited for today’s premiere of Fuller House on Netflix. The ladies have been friends for almost 30 years–friendships that started with the premiere of Full House.

Reprising their roles as Stephanie Tanner, DJ Tanner, and Kimmy Gibbler–Jodie Sweetin, Candace Cameron Bure, and Andrea Barber, respectively, are all moms, too. During a recent interview with People magazine they dished about their kids and their awareness that their moms were Full House stars–and are very soon to be Fuller House stars, too.

“First grade is when they start to develop awareness. At my kids’ school, the kindergarteners are clueless, the first graders are getting smarter, the second graders are like, ‘(Gasp!) You are in Full House!’ And I’m like, ‘I’ve been your room mom for two years now and you’re just now realizing this?’ Same with my kids, they had no interest in watching Full House until about age eight or nine and now they binge watch on all the networks,” Andrea Barber says.

“It’s cute, my kids came home from school the other day and one of their teachers aides was like, ‘I saw your mommy in the news and I saw pictures of you in the news, too’ and so they came out of their class and were like, ‘Mom! We were in the news!’ I was like, ‘Yes I know, it was a picture of all three of us,’” Jodie Sweetin shares. “[My daughter] was like ‘No no, it was just me,’ my little one. ‘Okay it was just you.’ But they get really excited.”

Candace Cameron Bure explains that while her kids are older now–in both junior high and high school–they like Fuller House better than Full House.

“The big benefit is when the teachers figure it out. If that will help my kids get better grades, I’m like, ‘What do you need?’ because we need some A’s in high school,” she says.

Jodie Sweetin, Andrea Barber, and Candace Cameron Bure’s lives are about to change. After today’s premiere of Fuller House, they’ll be officially back in the limelight again.

If their kids don’t realize just how big their moms are, they’ll need only wait a few days for the frenzy to kick in.

Are you excited about Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin, and Andrea Barber heading back to TV?

  • “Fuller House” Premieres on Netflix Later This Week, With Carly Rae Jepsen Singing Theme Song

Fuller House, the long-awaited reboot of Full House, premieres this week on Netflix. Singer Carly Rae Jepsen–fresh on the heels of her Grease: Live appearance–has a big role to play in Fuller House, too. No, Jepsen isn’t acting as a friend or foe of the Tanner girls. Instead she is singing the theme song.

The same theme song that opened each episode of Full House, “Everywhere You Look,” will be opening each episode of Fuller House, too. The big difference will be that in place of Jesse Frederick belting out the tune, Carly Rae Jepsen has that covered instead.

Rolling Stone reports that Carly Rae Jepsen recorded her version of “Everywhere You Look” in 2015, setting aside time from promoting her album “Emotion” in order to do so.

Jepsen said in her Rolling Stone interview that she has wonderful memories of watching Full House, making it all that more special to be singing the Fuller House theme song.

Full House is essentially my childhood. It was my favorite TV show growing up,” she said. “I can remember being on a camping trip with my parents and asking them what time it was, how much further ’til we get there kind of thing, and they said, “Three more Full Houses!” I understand what that means: two-and-a-half hours. So I was offered this and wondering if it could fit into my schedule; I had a lot going on at the time. I remember my team thinking, “I don’t think you’re going to have time to do this.” It was casually mentioned in one of those phone calls, and I said, “What? We have to make time for this! I’ll come in the middle of the night, whatever it is.” When I found out that Butch Walker was part of it too, that sealed the deal for me, because obviously I admire what he’s done and heard such great things that I was dying to get in the room and combine two things I was very curious about.”

Has Carly Rae Jepsen been allowed any special privileges regarding the Fuller House reboot–as in has she seen any of the upcoming episodes?

“No, not yet,” she said. “I’ve seen a poster for it, but I haven’t seen any trailers or things like that. Either way, I feel like there’s an amazing concept already, and I’m looking forward to watching the storylines. I told my girlfriends we’re going to have to have a popcorn night and really enjoy it from start to finish.”

Will you be doing as Carly Rae Jepsen plans when Fuller House premieres on Netflix this Friday, February 26th?

You can bet lots of people–okay, so it will probably be mostly girls–will pop that popcorn and curl up on the couch in anticipation of the Tanner girls–Candace Cameron Bure and Jodie Sweetin (Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen aren’t reprising their role as Michelle Tanner), along with Andrea Barber–in Fuller House form. Of course these people won’t get to listen to themselves sing the Fuller House theme song, the way Carly Rae Jepsen can.
