Chicago Bulls Edge Miami Heat 95-88 In OT

While some teams seem to be in free fall mode, losing at a wild rate, the Chicago Bulls seem to continue to do whatever it takes to win. Their latest challenge was the second-best Miami Heat, who they defeated in overtime.

The Bulls are the one team that continue to give the Miami Heat trouble, and are certainly a team that they do not want to see during the 2014 playoffs. In another intense Sunday afternoon battle, the Chicago Bulls defeated the Heat with a final score of 95-88.

Miami was previously beaten by the Bulls by a total of 20 points on December 5th, and for some reason, they just cannot seem to beat the Bulls. Chicago is not likely to win the NBA championship, but anything could happen once the playoffs start, right?

It is no surprise that these two teams have had troubles with one another in recent years, and they each continue to show their hatred toward each other. An incident occurred during a game last year that resulted in the ejected of veteran Nazr Mohammed when he shoved Lebron James. Yesterday’s game was no different, as James was kicked, and abused again.

Joakim Noah further explained his hatred for the Heat in a post-game interview, and said “Those guys (the Heat), they’ve ended our seasons a lot (twice in three seasons). That’s where the hate comes from. It’s not, ‘Oh, I hate this guy.’ It’s that these guys ended it – I want what they have. I want a championship, and I know to get there one day, we’re going to have to get through those guys. So that’s the hatred.”

The Chicago Bulls are on quite a roll right now, but due to the significant injuries that they have faced this season, particularly Derrick Rose, they struggled during much of the earlier part of the season. They have relied on other players since, and are rising toward the top as a force to be reckoned with.

Since the departure of Derrick Rose from the lineup, Joakim Noah has been forced to step up, and has been a major contributor in the past few months. He has given big numbers, continues to work well with his teammates, and was even one of the biggest stars for the Eastern Conference in the 2014 NBA All-Star Game.

The Chicago Bulls have been giving their best effort in multiple games lately, but always seem to perform at another level when it comes time to play Lebron James and the Miami Heat. The Heat are currently stuck at second place, but if the Pacers continue to lose, they may be able to claim the top spot before the playoffs start.

On the other hand, the Bulls are 35-28, and in fourth place in the conference, which would have them matched up against the Washington Wizards if the playoffs were to start right now.

  • Joakim Noah Leads Bulls In Overtime Win Over Heat

Joakim Noah scored 20 points, 7 assists, and 5 blocks for the Chicago Bulls in Sunday’s game versus Miami Heat. Noah filled up his team’s stats and led them through an overtime victory with a final score of 95-88.

The Miami Heat are the two-time defending champions and have eliminated the Bulls twice during the last three seasons, making Sunday’s game a special treat for the center. Noah is on his seventh year in the league and has just made the All-Star team for the second consecutive year.

Noah says his hate for the Heat isn’t personal, and stems more from wanting what the other team has: “I want a championship,” he says, and he knows that to get there, his team has to beat the Heat first. “I want everyone who wears a Bulls jersey to work. We’re going for one thing. That’s the championship,” he says with conviction.

Noah took the reins with the absence of Derrick Rose, who is sitting out the season to recover from his knee surgery. Rose was the team’s dominant scorer, and without him, the Bulls have had to win games by playing good defense, something that Noah says they work on every day.

“Defense is all about repetition, having trust in your teammates,” he says. He gives credit to the Bulls’ coach Tom Thibodeau for his drilling in the defensive aspect of the game.

The Bulls have a lot of strong opponents to face in the coming weeks, including the Houston Rockets, San Antonio Spurs, Portland Trail Blazers, Indiana Pacers, and Oklahoma City Thunder. Noah keeps his eye on the prize—the championship. “One day, I want to party in Chicago and I want to see what that feels like.”

Shooting guard Jimmy Butler, who scored 16 points during the game and guarded the Heat’s star player LeBron James, was all praises for his teammate, saying that Noah was a great leader who “puts the team on his back every night.”

  • Joakim Noah’s Performance Helps The Bulls Dominate The NY Knicks

On a team that has had its ups and downs over the course of the 2013-2014 season, Joakim Noah continues to deliver with big time performances. The New York Knicks have now lost now lost six games in a row after being crushed by the Bulls.

As a center for the Chicago Bulls, he was elected to the 2014 NBA All-Star Game, and on a team where he was joined by stars such as Lebron James, Kyrie Irving, Carmelo Anthony and others, Joakim Noah was able to execute one of the best performances on the court.

The Knicks continue to struggle, and a bit of a surprise came from the Chicago Bulls who have also had troubles following the season-ending injury to their star guard Derrick Rose. The Bulls defeated the Knicks on Sunday afternoon with a final score of 109-90.

Noah’s performance was one of the best by anyone all season, achieving a triple-double with a tally of 13 points, 12 rebounds, and a stunningly high number of assists-14. He also had two blocks and two steals. However, he wasn’t the only one with a big game, and in fact, Chicago had seven different players score in double figures yesterday.

However, it is not all about the main star, and Noah humbly said “It’s really all my teammates. It’s really all my teammates.” While the stats of All-Star Joakim Noah are often talked about in terms of scoring and rebounds, he also worked well with his teammates in yesterday’s game, and helped others in on the action such as Kirk Hinrich, Jimmy Butler and Taj Gibson.

The Knicks seem to be getting worse, and Carmelo Anthony examines his place on the team, the Bulls have won 9 of their last 10 games. After another crushing loss, it has hard to know where the Knicks will go from here, and what the future will hold for Carmelo Anthony, who is essentially running the team at this point.

In a a desperate attempt to somehow improve, the Knicks picked up two free agents for 10-day contracts recently with Shannon Brown and Earl Clark.

Joakim Noah continues to be a dominant force in the Eastern Conference, and as a member of the Chicago Bulls. The Bulls are now 33-26, which puts them at fourth place in the Eastern Conference, behind the Pacers, Heat, and Raptors.

  • Joakim Noah Fined For Verbal Abuse Of Officials Following His Ejection

It is not the first time that Joakim Noah has been in trouble with the NBA, and it is unlikely to be the last, but he was ejected from another game, and fined for what happened afterward.

Noah was ejected from the previous game between the Bulls and the Sacramento Kings, which took place in Sacramento on Monday night. The Bulls have had a disappointing season, and Joakim Noah let his temper get the best of him, and it cost him.

He was called for a foul that he felt that he didn’t deserve, and became extremely vocal about it, resulting in his ejection. In addition, Joakim Noah has received a hefty fine of $15,000 from the NBA.

He is a center for the Chicago Bulls, a team that has struggled since the loss of their star point guard Derrick Rose. The play that resulted in Joakim Noah’s rejection came when Marcus Thornton of the Kings launched a three-pointer from the left corner, and Noah was called for a foul as he battled with DeMarcus Cousins for rebounding position.

The replays immediately concluded that the foul was wrongly called, and Noah erupted with frustration and confusion, as did most of his teammates on the bench, although he let himself get a bit too vocal.

Joakim Noah later admitted that his beahvior was wrong in an interview when he said that was disappointed, and apologized to the refs. He also said “I think I was just frustrated with the game. I was frustrated with the call, but it doesn’t give me the right to do what I did. I deserve to get ejected, and it was just a bad decision on my part.’’

He was seen pointing his finger directly at one referee, and shouting profanities at his face. After that, he proceeded to point and scream at the other referees, and his teammate Carlos Boozer, along with an official, were forced remove him from the court, and direct him toward the locker room.

Sacramento went on to easily win the game 99-70, and held the Bulls to only 13 points in the 4th quarter. Noah was ejected at the 7:40 mark in the third quarter, and the Bulls were unable to find a way to win, even when playing the worst team in the western conference.

The loss puts the Chicago Bulls at 6th place in their conference with a record of 23-24. Despite Joakim Noah’s ejection and fine, he was still able to play in their next game against the Phoenix Suns.

  • Derrick Rose Is Out For The Season, Another Knee Injury

Well, Derrick Rose just can’t seem to stay in the game. He missed all of last season due to a knee injury, then came back this season, and injured his other knee. The recent injury occurred in Portland against the Portland Trailblazers on Saturday night.

There were recent reports that Derrick Rose had been injured, but it was hard to determine how serious the injury was until now. While his coach and teammates were all hoping for the best, but with his history, it was hard to think too positively on the situation.

Derrick Rose is one of the star players, and the point guard for the Chicago Bulls. It is easy to tell how much of a difference he makes on the team, after missing most of last season, and causing the Bulls to make the playoffs, but struggled greatly without him.

It was announced today that Derrick Rose would be out for the rest of the season, a fear that has teammates, coach, and many fans around the country had after witnessing him going down on Saturday.

He will miss the remaining games in the 2013-2014 season, after completing a successful surgery on Monday morning to repair the torn medial meniscus in his right knee. The team is certainly different without him, and he will be missed by each of his teammates.

Luol Deng spoke about his injury, and is excited for the day when he is able to return when saying “It’s not going to change anything. He’s still going to be Derrick. He still is going to work hard and come back even better. I really believe that he was better coming back from that ACL. It’s unfortunate that it happened. I have no doubt he’s going to come back and play great.”

The NBA suffered a great loss when he got injured and was forced to have reconstructive surgery on his left knee last season. In Saturday’s game, he was injured during the third quarter, and this time it is his right knee that has been hurt.

With Derrick Rose out for another season, the Chicago Bulls will have to count on their other star players such as Luol Deng, Joakim Noah, and Carlos Boozer to get the job done. Chicago is currently 6-6, putting them in second place in the Central division behind the Indiana Pacers.

Hopefully after another season of recovery, Derrick Rose will finally be able to make it back to the NBA, and have an impact on the Bulls’ 2014-2015 season.
