  • Demi Lovato Takes Tumble On Stage at Jingle Ball Concert, Makes “Confident” Quick Fix

Demi Lovato is “Confident,” but even that didn’t help her on Friday evening when she took a tumble on stage during Z100 iHeartRadio’s Jingle Ball in New York City. That confidence did, however, allow her to brush herself off with nothing more than a shrug and continue with her performance.

It was near the end of Demi Lovato’s 20-minute set when she tripped over a mic stand that the mishap took place. The cameras captured every second of the situation during the live-streamed concert.

The singer took to Twitter to dish about her spill after the show.

Earlier on Friday, Demi Lovato was honored at the Billboard’s Women in Music luncheon in New York City. She received the inaugural “Rulebreaker” Award, which fits the “Cool for the Summer” singer perfectly.

“It’s not intentional and that’s what’s awesome–people see it,” she said as she accepted her award. “I’m excited to show people you can be yourself and people will appreciate it.”

Demi Lovato has long been honest with herself as well as with her fans. She opened up about her treatment for addiction and an eating disorder, and she has been vocal about loving oneself regardless of body type or size.

This kind of honesty is why Demi Lovato can fall on stage and not cringe from embarrassment–even if it happens in front of a multitude of fans. She knows she’s human, and human beings slip up every now and then.

Kudos to Demi Lovato on her award and on picking herself up and brushing herself off–both literally and figuratively. She sets a fine example for young women everywhere.

  • Charli XCX Wows Saturday Night Live Audience

Charli XCX may have given her all at New York City’s Jingle Ball on Friday night, but that in no way lessened her performance one night later on Saturday Night Live. The audience was wowed by her performances of both ‘Boom Clap‘ and ‘Break the Rules.’ This was the singer’s SNL debut, but likely won’t be her only stint as the show’s musical guest.

On December 16, Charlie XCX’s new album ‘Sucker’ is set for release. This is her sophomore album, on which both of the aforementioned songs are featured. Charli was awarded the Hitmaker honor just a couple of days ago at Billboard’s Women in Music event.

“To be recognized for my work as a songwriter is really incredible because that’s something i care about so much. … It’s been fabulous and f—ing wild. Every single woman in this room is so incredible,” she said when accepting the award.

Charli XCX’s new album was initially scheduled for October, however, the success of ‘Boom Clap’ made Neon Gold and Atlantic Records decide to wait a bit longer–no doubt capitalizing on the single’s enormous success.

NPR says it’s been Charlie XCX’s year, noting that not only is she a stellar performer–as seen by last night’s musical guest spot on SNL–she is also a highly acclaimed song writer as well.

“She’s particularly known for her collaborations–writing and appearing in Icona Pop’s ‘I Love It,’ and she’s already looking ahead, with some co-written songs scheduled to appear on the new Gwen Stefani record. But Charli XCX’s second album, ‘Sucker,’ comes out Tuesday, and her name is the only one on it. It’s a boisterous punk-pop mix, full of snark and rebellion,” they report.

Did you catch Charli XCX on Saturday Night Live this weekend? Will you be picking up a copy of ‘Sucker’ when it comes out on Tuesday?

Last night at the Jingle Ball concert for New York’s Z100 radio station, Robin Thicke reminisced about the jaw-dropping VMA moment.

During his set, Thicke thanked everyone who supported the concert then continuted by giving a little shoutout to Cyrus who was also performing at the Jingle Ball.

“I wonder who Miley Cyrus is going to twerk on tonight?” he said into his golden microphone with a big smirk plastered across his face. “I don’t know who,” he continued looking back towards his band.

  • Selena Gomez Drops The Mic, F-bomb On Stage

Selena Gomez reportedly had some trouble during her performance at KIIS FM’s annual Jingle Ball event on Friday, where she dropped the mic and stormed off stage amid a cloud of obscenities.

21-year old Gomez may or may not have been using a backing track during the show when the audio malfunctioned, and a source said it appeared she was lip synching.

“She for sure said ‘what the f–k,’ … You could hear it crystal clear,” the source said. “She was messing around with her ear piece from the first song so you knew something wasn’t right.”

The former girlfriend of Justin Bieber apologized to the crowd for the technical difficulties and promised them a few more songs, but after “Come And Get It”, she stormed off the stage.

“Sorry, the sound isn’t working!” Gomez reportedly told the crowd. “Are you guys having a good night? I promise, a lot cooler people are gonna come out tonight. Is it okay if I perform two more songs and you guys can get to it?”

An audience member told Us Weekly that Gomez was clearly upset during “Come And Get It”.

“She was pissed doing the next song and she said two more songs,” the source said. “[She] didn’t do the last one.”
