  • J.Lo’s Demands Get Her Dropped From Cricket Gig

J.Lo’s Demands Get Her Dropped From Cricket Gig

Jennifer Lopez is a big draw for any event. So big, that she can demand the staff at events do just about anything to please her. Unfortunately, there comes a point at which demands become too big to fulfill.

The New York Post is reporting that Lopez lost out on a potentially huge gig due to outrageous demands. The singer was reportedly in talks to headline the opening ceremony of India’s Premier League cricket tournament.

The paper’s unnamed sources stated that Lopez was asking for a private plane and hotel rooms for “an army of stylists, assistants, and a personal chef.” The event’s organizers balked at the demands, and Lopez will not be singing at the popular sporting event. The post quotes one source as saying the singer’s demands were “outrageous” and that she “effectively priced herself out of the event.”

Lopez recently appeared as a 2011 host on the Fox karaoke competition American Idol and starred alongside Jason Statham in the movie Parker, which was released in January. The singer is currently working on a new album that is due out this summer.

  • Ben Affleck Cuts Down on Work to Avoid Unwanted Attention

Ben Affleck, once upon a time, was fodder for the blood-thirsty tabloid press. During his days as Jennifer Lopez’s main squeeze, the “Reindeer Games” actor couldn’t take two steps without running into either a paparazzo armed with a camera or a newspaper with his face plastered across the front of it. Of course, dating someone as famous as Lopez comes with its far share of consequences. Unfortunately for Affleck, all of that attention caused a good deal of stress.

Following their break-up, the “Phantoms” alumni decided to make some changes to his personal life. In order to keep himself out of the spotlight, Affleck cut down on his busy work schedule, got married to Jennifer Garner, had kids, and, for the most part, dropped out of sight. Additionally, his focus within the industry began to shift from acting to directing; both the 2007 thriller “Gone Baby Gone” and the 2010 heist flick “The Town” received positive reviews, much more so than anything Affleck had accomplished as an actor.

“It feels like being in a soap opera that you were unwittingly cast in and you have no choice about it. I get to watch my life like everyone else and think. ‘I can’t believe they did that’. And, for whatever reason, you become less special for movie audiences,” he once said in an interview. “It cheapens the brand if you want to look at it in a really crass sense. But I figure it has to go away at some point. Eventually someone will come along and have a sex tape or someone will play grab-ass with some kids and I’ll be off page one.”

Nowadays, the only time you see paparazzi photos of Affleck is during family outings. When he’s not spending time at home or working on one Hollywood project or another, he’s trying to raise awareness for the Eastern Congo Initiative, which is devoted to lowering child mortality rates.

“I’ve finally learnt how to say, ‘No comment’,” he said in regards to avoiding — and dealing — unwanted press. “To appear in the tabloids is a real learning curve and a steep one at that. You had better learn quick or you get burnt.”

  • Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Lopez Discuss Paparazzi in $ellebrity

Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Lopez, Sarah Jessica Parker, Salma Hayek, and Elton John, among others, discuss the living hell that is the paparazzi in photographer/director Kevin Mazur’s upcoming documentary “$ellebrity”. The film, which debuted at South by Southwest last March, gives audiences a chance to hear just how agitating, annoying, and downright frustrating life can be when you’re dealing with opportunistic tabloid reporters and go-for-broke photographers who make their living capturing every single detail of celebrity life.

In addition to the actors and musicians listed above, the documentary also allows Sheryl Crow, Rosanna Arquette, and Marc Anthony to share their respective tales, the latter of whom discusses the helicopters that circled overhead during his wedding to Jennifer Lopez. Crow, meanwhile, explains how the tabloid coverage affected her life during her breakup with Lance Armstrong and her struggle with breast cancer.

In order to prepare the world for the film’s upcoming release, which, as of this writing, does not have a date here in the States, a brand new trailer featuring some intriguing future has been unleashed upon the public. If you’ve got a few minutes to spare, take a look at the clip embedded below. Although you may not agree with everything these individuals have to say on the subject, the effect such coverage has on the lives of celebrities is hard to ignore.

  • Howard Stern Says He’ll Never Be Like J-Lo

Howard Stern Says He’ll Never Be Like J-Lo

Radio jock Howard Stern may have recently promised to change his deviant behavior while he’s acting as judge for “America’s Got Talent“, but that didn’t stop him from bashing fellow reality show judges Jennifer Lopez and Britney Spears recently.

Stern says his goal during the upcoming season of the talent show is to give real, honest opinions on the performances, because to do otherwise would be doing a disservice to the participants, and that’s exactly what other judges do.

“I don’t understand what she’s doing there,” Stern said about Lopez. “If I sit in a beautiful dress and just tell them they’re wonderful, they’re not going to get anywhere.”

Regarding Britney, who’s been tapped to judge “The X-Factor” for its upcoming season, Stern said, “I think it’s a wonderful decision. Britney still thinks the earth is flat. I don’t anticipate great opinions from her. I think she’s gonna sit there like J.Lo, ‘Oh, you’re wonderful, you’re terrific. You think I can get a perfume endorsement out of this?’…I’ll tune in to see what kind of train wreck she is.”

Though Stern insists he understands that “America’s Got Talent” is a family show and doesn’t require his usual salty antics, it will be interesting to see if he actually tones down the harshness, especially since a group called the Parents TV Council has called for advertisers for the show to bow out in light of his reputation.

TV watchdog group says trusting Howard Stern to behave on America’s Got Talent is like “trusting North Korea”. http://t.co/Jtwc4h2B(image) 19 hours ago via web ·  Reply ·  Retweet ·  Favorite · powered by @socialditto

  • Casper Smart: Is he Too Young for Jennifer Lopez?

Jennifer Lopez decided to take her new man, 24-year-old back-up dancing Caspar Smart, with her to the set of American idol while a session was being taped.

At the age of 43, Lopez is old enough to be Smart’s mother. She defended their age difference by saying, “I don’t feel older, and I don’t feel like I look it, either, so I am just acting the same way I have always acted.”

Smart warmly greeted Lopez’s fellow judges Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler — and was the brunt of a good-natured joke from host Ryan Seacrest, who pointed out Smart chatting with two pals in the audience during a commercial break.

“Which of these three guys is Jennifer’s boyfriend?” Seacrest said “Or is it the one who’s shorter than Ryan Seacrest?” Smart was visibly embarrassed as Lopez doubled over in laughter while the audience cheered.

The embarrassment soon wore off and Lopez gazed at her new beau adoringly as they conversed with big smiles.

The couple has been dating for five months and were rumored to have wedding plans after Roberto Cavalli sent out a phony tweet. The tweet claimed Cavalli was designing a wedding dress for thrice-divorced Lopez, who split from Marc Anthony last July. A rep for Cavalli later explained the Twitter account had been hacked.

Smart and Lopez send sweet tweets to each other.

Lopez said that Casper is, “Adorable. But you already see that. He really is [sweet]. He’s a good egg. I don’t want to talk about it too much. It’s my private thing.”

  • J-Lo, Darren Aronofsky Team Up For Non-Bizarre Kohl’s Ad

In 2010, Darren Aronofsky directed one of the best films of the year – Black Swan. It won Natalie Portman an Oscar and was itself nominated for best picture. And it was deserving of all its acclaim in book, even if you take out some of Mila Kunis’ more erotic scenes…

Anyway, that was simply said in order to get the point across that Aronofsky has some experience with putting dance on the screen. In all honesty though, calling Black Swan a dance film is like calling Silence of the Lambs a movie about entomology.

However dance-centric you classify Black Swan, the point is that Aronofsky’s new project deals with the fun side of dance as opposed to the finger-peeling, schizophrenic side of it. According to MediaBistro, Aronofsky is the director behind the newest Kohl’s ad featuring Jennifer Lopez. You see, J-Lo has a clothing line at Kohl’s, and she’s appeared in numerous commercials for the brand over the past year or so. This time, she’s got the music in her.

    Check it out below:

Pretty hard to tell it has the Aronofsky touch, isn’t it? I guess everyone just needs a paycheck now and again.

The last time we saw Aronofsky at work with advertisements, he was the brain behind a series of anti-meth ads that definitely bear his mark:

What do you think? Can you spot the Aronofsky in that J-Lo ad? Are you, like me, waiting for someone to remix that ad with the Requiem fior a Dream music? Let us know in the comments.
