  • Jennifer Lawrence: Haircut Gets Some Attention

Jennifer Lawrence was tapped to introduce former president Bill Clinton at the GLAAD Media Awards this weekend, and though she stumbled over her lines at the event, her haircut was what everyone focused on.

Lawrence, who hasn’t been seen much since her big Oscar win, has been busy filming the sequel to the highly successful film “The Hunger Games”, a role which required her to take her hair several shades darker than the honey-washed color we’re used to seeing. Now she’s back to those golden tresses and has chopped her locks to a shoulder-grazing length that flatters her heart-shaped face.

The 22-year old actress was excited to share a stage with Clinton but says she’s out of her element when it comes to speaking in public.

“Making movies is where I belong. I shouldn’t be heard just talking. So, when I’m doing movies, I’m really happy. That’s where I’m comfortable, that’s my home. When you put me on a red carpet or on a stage, I turn into chihuahua Jennifer,” she said.

After a now-famous trip up the stairs to accept her Academy Award, Lawrence endeared herself to people everywhere with her self-deprecating wit and silly sense of humor; now she can add herself to the list of young stars with the power to start a trend, because if today’s news is any indication, it looks like girls will be lining up to copy that hairstyle.

  • Jennifer Lawrence Gets Starstruck And It’s Adorable

Jennifer Lawrence has been the darling of critics, moviegoers, and Hollywood veterans for a while now; it’s a heady combination of talent, looks, wit, and self-deprecation that has attracted everyone like bees to pollen, and now that the awards season has come to a close, she’s proven her funny personality wasn’t just a fluke put on for a talk show.

Though she landed herself in a bit of hot water after her Golden Globes acceptance speech, the whole incident was quickly cleared up and the “Silver Linings Playbook” star went back to charming the pants off everyone who came into contact with her. And though some think her cavalier attitude towards the celebrity life is put on, she seems to have proven that she can be funny and humble at the same time–take a look at her Oscars spill if you need more proof.

While it seems easy for Lawrence to shrug off the sudden fame she found after starring in the widely acclaimed “Winter’s Bone”, she does still get starstruck, and Jack Nicholson was the culprit. The legendary actor came up to her during a backstage interview last night and succeeded in making her blush, turning an epic night into an even bigger epic night.

  • “SNL” Mocks Lance Armstrong, Manti Te’o

“Saturday Night Live” hasn’t been in its best form for years, but many agree that Jennifer Lawrence’s appearance this past Saturday breathed a bit of life into the classic show.

In her monologue, Lawrence took on her fellow Oscar nominees, her “I beat Meryl” comment during her Golden Globes acceptance speech, and the fact that Tommy Lee Jones was a stony-faced grump during the comedic stylings of “SNL” alums Kristin Wiig and Will Ferrell at the awards show.

The episode also mocked Lance Armstrong for the “sort of but not really” confession he gave during his interview with Oprah Winfrey regarding doping, and took on the Manti Te’o “fake girlfriend” story that’s swept the nation over the past week.

  • Jennifer Lawrence, Anne Hathaway Responsible for Top Twitter Moments from the Golden Globes

With the declaration “I beat Meryl,” Louisville, KY native Jennifer Lawrence accepted the Golden Globe for Best Actress (Comedy). That speech also put her over the top in another way, as she is also responsible for the most-tweeted about moment of last night’s ceremony.

According to Twitter, the highest spike in tweets-per-minute during the awards occurred when Lawrence won her Globe. That spike hit 19,886 TPM.

“Harvey [Weinstein], thank you for killing whoever you had to kill to get me up here today,” said Lawrence during her acceptance speech.

Coming in a close second (19,695 TPM) for most-buzzed about moment was Anne Hathaway, as she was accepting her award for Best Supporting Actress (Comedy/Musical) for her role in Les Miserables.

And in third was former President Bill Clinton, who received a standing ovation as he appeared on stage to introduce Steven Spielberg’s epic Lincoln for consideration. That generated 18,290 TPM.

In all, Twitter reports 4.2 million total Golden Globes-related tweets in the past 24 hours, and 3.6 when you just count the red carpet and the actual show.

You can check out the top three Twitter moments from last night below:

We’re pretty sure Tommy Lee Jones was unimpressed with all of it.

  • Most Desirable Woman: Kim K Gets Dropped

Most Desirable Woman: Kim K Gets Dropped

There are many factors to take into consideration when compiling a list of the most desirable women in Hollywood, and if one of them is overexposure, you can bet it won’t be in that person’s favor.

An AskMen poll released today has Jennifer Lawrence in the top spot for the title, which doesn’t come as much of a surprise; the “Hunger Games” star has proven herself to be easygoing, charming, funny, and approachable during interviews and appearances on talk shows. She’s wildly attractive and yet still attainable, the girl-next-door who could be your hilarious best friend at the same time she’s stealing your heart.

Coming in at number two is the “Sexiest Woman Alive“, Mila Kunis, who attained that achievement earlier this year according to Esquire Magazine. Kate Upton, Rihanna, and Emma Stone round out the top five.

But one name was suspiciously absent from the top ten, or even the top twenty, this year: Kim Kardashian. She’s been a mainstay on lists like these for a while now after proving she’s not afraid to flaunt her assets, and being business-savvy doesn’t hurt, either. But Kim K. took a big hit this year, dropping from the number 8 spot on last year’s list to number 98 out of 99. Ouch.

  • Jennifer Lawrence Shows Off Pipes In New Film

Jennifer Lawrence, self-deprecating though she may be, is a young woman of many talents. While she says all she can really do is act and shoot a bow and arrow–which she learned to do for “The Hunger Games”–we think she’s selling herself short.

The actress displays some mad singing skills in the trailer for the film “House At The End Of The Street”, accompanied only by the guitar she’s strumming and some creepy imagery. The song is “All You’ve Gotta Do Is Fall In Love With Me”, a cover of a Benji Hughes tune.

The film’s music supervisor, Steve Lindsey, said Lawrence was extremely nervous to try out singing but rose to the occasion beautifully.

“Even [though] she was nervous, her humor about the situation shined through with her begging for us to ‘Photoshop’ her voice,” he said.

Check out her talents for yourself. The film opens this Friday.

  • The Glass Castle Movie Is On The Way, May Star Jennifer Lawrence

Jeannette Walls’ 2005 memoir The Glass Castle has sold several million copies and stayed on the New York Time Bestseller list for over 250 weeks. It’s already achieved instant-classic status, and has been read by countless teenagers in schools across the country. And now, her story may finally see the silver screen.

Deadline reports that Lionsgate studios has just acquired the rights to the film, and talks are currently taking place to have Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence hop into the leading role.

Back in 2005, Paramount Pictures seized the rights to the film through a deal with Brad Pitt’s production company Plan B. The deal moved the company from Warner Bros to Paramount, and an adaptation of The Glass Castle was one of the first projects mentioned as in development. Obviously, it never worked out as it’s 2012 and still no Glass Castle movie, but it appears that now it’s on its way to being made.

Gil Netter is attached to produce. His résumé includes The Blind Side, Water For Elephants, Marley & Me, and BASEketball. Marti Noxon is set to write the screenplay – you know her from Fright Night, I Am Number Four, and some episodes of Mad Men and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Jeannette Walls’ memoir is a hard-hitter, as she discusses growing up in a poor, dysfunctional family living in the mountains of West Virginia.

Jennifer Lawrence, fresh off starring in one of the biggest films in recent memory, has already made her name in playing a role similar to this. 2010’s Winter’s Bone (based on a novel as well) has her playing a young girl weeding through the drug-ridden population of a small Ozark Mountain town in search of her missing father.

What do you think? Have you read The Glass Castle? Would you be excited about a film adaptation? Let us know in the comments.

  • Jennifer Lawrence Featured On Latest “House At The End Of The Street” Poster

Earlier today the official Facebook account for “House at the End of the Street” updated their timeline with a new poster for the film. The film stars Jennifer Lawrence (The Hunger Games) and Elizabeth Shue (Piranha) as a mother and daughter who move to a new town and find themselves living next door to a house where a young girl murdered her parents. When Lawrence’s character befriends the lone survivor of the tragic events, they learn the nightmare is far from over.

The poster for the film seems to be playing up that Jennifer Lawrence is in the film, which makes total sense. As her latest film, The Hunger Games, was number 1 at the box office for four straight weeks and has grossed over $336 million in the US alone. Check out the poster for yourself below:

    (image)

If you’re unfamiliar with the film, here is the official synopsis for the film:

Seeking a fresh start, newly divorced Sarah (Oscar®-nominee Elisabeth Shue; Leaving Las Vegas, Piranha 3D) and her daughter Elissa (Oscar®-nominee Jennifer Lawrence; The Hunger Games, X-Men: First Class) find the house of their dreams in a small, upscale, rural town. But when startling and unexplainable events begin to happen, Sarah and Elissa learn the town is in the shadows of a chilling secret. Years earlier, in the house next door, a daughter killed her parents in their beds, and disappeared – leaving only a brother, Ryan (Max Thieriot, My Soul to Take), as the sole survivor. Against Sarah’s wishes, Elissa begins a relationship with the reclusive Ryan – and the closer they get, the deeper they’re all pulled into a mystery more dangerous than they ever imagined.

  • Jennifer Lawrence Prepares For Superstardom

Jennifer Lawrence, the 21-year old actress starring in “The Hunger Games“–which officially opens tonight but had midnight showings all around the country last night–is about to go from relative anonymity to superstardom.

Although Lawrence gained quite a bit of recognition for her performance in 2010’s “Winter’s Bone”–a performance which earned her the title of second-youngest actress to be nominated for an Oscar–she hadn’t really broken into the mainstream until “The Hunger Games” trailer began making it’s rounds across the internet. Now things are quite a bit different…and involve paparazzi lurking outside her house, which means she’s really hit the big time.

An unfortunate side effect of becoming so famous so quickly, and at such a young age, is that the media likes to invent drama where there is none. Take, for instance, the “feud” between Lawrence and “Twilight” star Kristen Stewart.

“Things like this tabloid war shouldn’t stress me out, but it’s kind of like being in high school when one friend says you said something bad about your other friend and you know you didn’t say anything. It gives you a knot in your stomach,” said Lawrence in an interview. “I’m afraid that’s what it’s always going to be like.”

The Louisville, Kentucky native said she was aware of the enormous impact the film could have on her career and personal life before she signed on, and weighed the decision carefully.

“I needed three days, I guess, to kiss my personal life away,” she said. “I wanted to iron everything out so that when my life was completely flipped upside-down and different, it was because I thought everything through and was positive about the decision.”

As Katniss Everdeen, Lawrence brings a strength to the role that was demanded by fans of the books, written by Suzanne Collins. The story, set in a dystopian future where teens are forced to compete in a televised battle to the death, takes on not only society’s obsession with “reality” television, but the more serious issues of the wealthy vs. the under classes, as well as the human capacity for violence under certain circumstances.

“The thing I like about this movie, which is different from many others, is Katniss is focused on survival, focused on a revolution and not focused on who is going to be her boyfriend,” Lawrence says.

And perhaps that, if nothing else, lends itself well to the creation of a superstar and role model to young girls everywhere.

  • Jennifer Lawrence Gave Josh Hutcherson a Concussion

Jennifer Lawrence has played a tough chick throughout her young career; In Winter’s Bone she got her butt kicked by her hillybilly relatives and sawed off her dead father’s hand so that her family could collect insurance money, in Burning Plain she accidentally burned her mother and the man she was having an affair with alive after trying to smoke them out of their love shack, and in The Hunger Games she will fight to the death to save her people and start a revolution.

As we reported in a previous article, Lawrence went through intense training to prepare her for the role of Katniss Everdeen. Throughout the process she has become a biological weapon of Lara Croft proportions and unfortunately HG co-star Josh Hutcherson was on the receiving end of her playful death blow.

Hutcherson revealed on the “Late Show with David letterman” on Wednesday that he was goofing around with Lawrence on set and she ended up giving him a mild concussion: “We were just goofing around, and like doing some shadow boxing for fun. She throws this beautiful kick, but it landed right on my temple and literally knocked me to the ground. I was down. I was seeing stars and she was freaking out, crying.”

Apparently Lawrence doesn’t know the power of her own strength.

Hutcherson tried to comfort Lawrence and patted her on the back as the production called in the number 1 neurologist in the state to make sure he was okay.

Hutcherson said he was so dazed that the next day he started giving someone his address from when he was nine.

The young man was in good spirits earlier this week and thinks the entire incident is hilarious.

  • Katniss Everdeen is One Bad Chick

Katniss Everdeen is One Bad Chick

Katniss Everdeen played by Jennifer Lawrence is the heroine of The Hunger Games book series and movies. The film will be released in theaters this Friday. The starlet went through considerable training to prepare her for taking on the role of a huntress, marathon runner, and ultimate warrior.

Ms. Everdeen would make Beatrix from Kill Bill proud as she shows off her badass skills: She is a master of the bow and arrow, she knows how to win over audiences through politicking, she puts her survival first and will kill anyone that threatens her well-being, she supports her family and brings home the bacon, and she is not afraid to get emotional in the process.

Jennifer Lawrence told MTV that she has been on intense training schedules to prepare her for her role. She had a running coach, received stunt training so she could do vaults and wall climbs, and went through several weeks of archery classes. Lawrence exclaimed that her intense training “was rough but fun.” The young actress only has a few more months befor she begins training for the second installment in June.

Bonnie Fuller writes for The Blog and feels Everdeen’s empowered essence comes at a time when “Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum wants to put women back in the kitchen and off contraceptives.” Heck, even Mitt Romney wants to deny women access to free birth control. Thankfully Everdeen shows women that they don’t have to be barefoot and pregnant– they can be great athletes instead.

Lawrence said that she read The Hunger Games in a few days and is drawn to her character’s strength. She explained that Everdeen is a girl who has the world placed on her shoulders and starts a revolution.

  • Breaking Dawn – Part 2 Teaser Trailer Debuts with The Hunger Games on March 23rd

The Breaking Dawn – Part 2 teaser trailer will debut exclusively in theaters with The Hunger Games on March 23rd. The final chapter in the Twilight Saga will be released in theaters on November, 16, 2012.

I have never read the Twilight series but I really enjoyed how dark the last film was. Bella’s gross appearance and morbid delivery will never let me forget Twilight and I applaud Stephenie Meyer for revealing the danger behind pregnancy, even if the example is a bit extreme. The cinematography and soundtrack also enhanced its George Romero feel.

Academy Award winner Bill Condon directed both the first and second part of the two-part finale starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. The project, based on the fourth novel in author Stephenie Meyer’s “Twilight” series, was written by Melissa Rosenberg with Wyck Godfrey, Karen Rosenfelt and Stephenie Meyer producing.

The decision to debut the teaser with the Release of The Hunger Games is a wise one. The Hunger Games is based off of a trilogy written by Suzanne Collins. The movie is about a post-apocalyptic world in the country of Panem (former United States) and is fueled by 16 year old heroine, Katniss Everdeen. Katniss volunteers to take the place of her little sister in the Hunger Games, an annual event where one boy and one girl aged 12 to 18 from each of the 12 districts surrounding the Capitol are selected by lottery to compete in a televised battle in which only one person can survive.

The cast includes rising starlet Jennifer Lawrence (Winter’s Bone), Liam Hemsworth (The Last Song), Josh Hutcherson (Journey to the Center of the Earth, and Wes Bentley (creepy bag guy from American beauty) among others.

I will definitely be going to the theaters on the 23rd to get a taste of the Twilight to come and a scoop of Hemsworth.
