  • Jennette McCurdy “Uncomfortable” In Minimal Makeup For “Between”

Jennette McCurdy is definitely excited that her Netflix show, Between, has been picked up for another season.

On Tuesday, Jennette McCurdy announced the good news via a Twitter post.

Jennette McCurdy later said of the news, “I’m thrilled to be continuing on with a second season of Between. Working with Netflix, City, and the entire cast and crew has been such an enjoyable experience and I can’t wait for more.”

Well, if Jennette McCurdy is preparing for another season, it’s a good thing she likes her role. And with that role comes a very different makeup routine than she had during her days on iCarly.

Jennette McCurdy revealed that she wasn’t too happy with the makeup she had to wear as a kid on the Nickelodeon show.

She said, “It’s funny, because growing up acting, I hated all the makeup they put on me — I was a tomboy and that foundation always felt so caked-on.”

She added, “But for this character [on Between], they wanted my hair slicked back, so every day it was in a pony that wasn’t even brushed. We’re talking minimal. And then I had the grown-out bangs, which would flop about, and they became known as the ‘little seagull wings’ on set.”

That being said, Jennette McCurdy admitted that she feels a little uncomfortable being in front of the camera without a mask of makeup.

Jennette McCurdy said, “I find it easier to act when I feel comfortable with how I look with the makeup on. It’s such a vulnerable thing to have cameras in your face and a crew around watching you all day. Yeah, it can be uncomfortable, but I least I know my blemishes are covered. That’s a great feeling.”

What do you think of Jennette McCurdy’s show, Between? Do you think she looks better in a more natural look or do you prefer her made-up face on her earlier shows?

Jennette McCurdy: Netlfix Orders Season Two of ‘Between’

Jennette McCurdy has made her mark in the Netflix world. No longer known only for her roles on iCarly and Sam & Cat, she’s gone way beyond Nickelodeon now.

McCurdy stars in the Netflix drama Between.

Between is the story of a small town in which everyone over the age of 21 loses their life to a mysterious illness. Those 21 and under work to figure out a peaceful means of living–and surviving.

The drama debuted simultaneously on Netflix and City–the Canadian TV network that developed the one-hour drama.

Netflix has just announced that they’ve ordered a second season of the dystopian drama. Jennette McCurdy is thrilled.

“I’m thrilled to be continuing on with a second season of Between,” she said in a statement. “Working with Netflix, City, and the entire cast and crew has been such an enjoyable experience and I can’t wait for more.”

Jennette McCurdy shared the good news with her Twitter followers.

When Jennette McCurdy first landed the lead in Between, some wondered how playing a role like this one might be perceived by her Nickelodeon fans.

“I feel Believe is really perfect,” she said. ‘A lot of the kids that watched iCarly and Sam & Cat are getting older. This fits the bill. Already my more intense fans are very excited and eagerly awaiting the series.”

Have you checked out any episodes of the first season of Between? If so, you’re no doubt thrilled that Netflix has ordered a second season.

  • Jennette McCurdy Will Become Your New Netflix Obsession in Dark, Edgy ‘Between’

Jennette McCurdy isn’t at all what you might expect in the new Netflix series Between. In fact, she could easily become your new Netflix obsession in the dark, edgy series.

The Sam & Cat star has ditched her silly ways and taken on a very adult role. In Between, Jennette McCurdy plays the minister’s pregnant daughter in a town where a deadly virus kills off anyone over the age of 22.

This is the first series to stream weekly on Netflix, with Jennette McCurdy coming to you in fresh new episodes every Thursday evening at 8:00 p.m.

“I’m a huge Netflix fan and when they told me about this show, I was excited because I could see how character-driven it could really be,” Jennette McCurdy says. “It really has a voice of its own and to me, that’s great television.”

Jennette McCurdy recently dished about Miley Cyrus, when asked about her recent shocking style choices in Paper magazine.

“I applaud Miley [Cyrus] in a lot of ways. I think that…she seems like, you know I don’t know her personally, but I’ve met her at a few events and she’s always very kind, and she seems like she’s really happy with what she’s doing. And I think that’s amazing,” Jennette McCurdy said.

Yes, it’s obvious Jennette McCurdy has grown up way, way beyond the silly roles she played on Nickelodeon in both Sam & Cat and iCarly–although she isn’t ruling out an iCarly reunion.

Fans will no doubt be pleasantly surprised–and quite intrigued–when they check her out in what could become their new Netflix obsession.

Will you be checking out Jennette McCurdy in Between?

  • Jennette McCurdy Sounds Off About Miley Cyrus

Jennette McCurdy was in New York City last week, looking stylish and sophisticated as she made the talk show rounds–including The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon. The former Sam & Cat star was so stylish that she was asked during one interview to weigh in on Miley Cyrus. Miley’s recent style–in Paper magazine–involves dyed public hair and not much else–at all.

So what did the former Nickelodeon star have to say? Did she find fault with the former Hannah Montana star’s sense of style?

“I applaud Miley [Cyrus] in a lot of ways. I think that…she seems like, you know I don’t know her personally, but I’ve met her at a few events and she’s always very kind, and she seems like she’s really happy with what she’s doing. And I think that’s amazing,” Jennette McCurdy said.

Jennette McCurdy was in the news not so long ago about what many perceived as a big blowout with her longtime BFF Ariana Grande.

As with many things in the media, McCurdy assured everyone that feud was blown way out of proportion.

A former fan favorite in the hit show iCarly(in fact she chatted with Jimmy Fallon about an iCarly reunion), Jennette McCurdy currently stars in Between.

  • Jennette McCurdy Loses Good Girl Image Going from ‘Sam & Cat’ to ‘Between’

Jennette McCurdy, star of Nickelodeon hits iCarly and Sam & Cat has given up her good girl role for a new show now filming in Toronto for Netflix and City. The Canadian survivalist thriller features Jennette McCurdy in a grown up role–one her Nickelodeon fans might not even recognize.

Called Between, it will debut simultaneously on Netflix and City–the Canadian TV network that developed the one-hour drama.

On Thursday, Jennette McCurdy chatted with The Hollywood Reporter about filming Between.

“I’m going back home next week, and I’ve grown a lot,” she said.

Believe is about a town under siege from a disease–unknown in nature–that has killed everyone, except for those aged 21 and under.

“I’ve had this personal arc,” Jennette McCurdy said. “I come from the set to home, and I feel like I’ve emotionally released myself. It’s a way to get out emotions that you may put on the back burner and put aside to act a certain role to your fans.

In the six-part TV drama, the young people–who are mostly high school students–must decide how to survive as the government quarantines the town.

Singer Ariana Grande’s former costar and BFF isn’t sure she wants her friends and family members to watch her in this latest role.

“In some ways, I don’t want them (friends and family) to watch. It’s very raw. And I’m sure, whether or not I want them to watch, they will watch the show,” she said.

“I feel Believe is really perfect,” she adds. ‘A lot of the kids that watched iCarly and Sam & Cat are getting older. This fits the bill. Already my more intense fans are very excited and eagerly awaiting the series.”

Jennette McCurdy struck a new phase in her independence while filming Believe.

“When I found out I was shooting in Toronto, I was scared to be away from my fans and friends and community for so long,” she explains. “But I also felt excited to be alone and independent. It’s turned out to be more than I could have anticipated. I’ve felt that I’ve made some great friends in Toronto.”

Between is the first Canadian production Netflix has ordered.

You can see Jennette McCurdy in this new series beginning on May 21st.

  • Jennette McCurdy Decidedly NOT Feuding With Ariana Grande

Jennette McCurdy is brushing off rumors of an epic feud with Ariana Grande.

Ariana Grande and Jennette McCurdy obviously had some issues during their time working on their short-lived sitcom Sam & Cat.

However, Jennette McCurdy says that it’s nothing that many people who work together don’t go through.

“I just feel that, you know Ariana and I were and are extremely close and very like-minded in a lot of different ways and then, sorta as the show dissolved, everybody wanted to find some sort of hidden meaning in our relationship,” Jennette McCurdy said.

Jennette McCurdy also insinuated that perhaps the drama was drummed up a little to sell news.

Jennette McCurdy added, “Some like drama and I think we butted heads at times but in a very sisterly way. She knows me so well and I know her so well that I think it was unfortunate that things kind of got misconstrued.”

Jennette McCurdy said that the long hours working together helped her and Ariana Grande forge a friendship that, despite the rumors, will last forever.

She said, “There is certainly like a friend dynamic but then once you’re around that person for—I mean, Carly, Sam & Cat—once we didn’t have child labor laws we could work like 16 hours a day so you are around these people constantly and It’s just natural that you’re gonna have ups and downs.”

She added, “But you bond so much and you’re so close that you can’t go through that experience and…I can’t imagine a world where you would not come out extreme friends. I mean I have bonds with both Miranda Cosgrove and Ariana that are impenetrable.”

What sweet words from Jennette McCurdy!

Do you believe her or do you want to believe that there is still a feud brewing?

  • Jennette McCurdy And Ariana Grande Butted Heads “In A Sisterly Way”

Jennette McCurdy is trying really hard to dismiss rumors that there is bad blood between her and her Sam & Cat co-star, Ariana Grande.

Jennette McCurdy told E! that, of course, there was a little drama when Sam & Cat suddenly dissolved.

Jennette McCurdy said, “I just feel that, you know, Ariana and I were and are extremely close and very like-minded in a lot of different ways, and then, sort of, as the show dissolved, everybody wanted to find some sort of hidden meaning in our relationship and some drama.”

Jennette McCurdy said her and Grande butted heads sometimes, but it wasn’t any different than what any two friends that work together all the time might experience. In fact, some of the drama may have been exaggerated, just because that’s what sells.

Jennette McCurdy said she has created strong bonds, despite the head-butting and drama.

  • Jennette McCurdy to Star in ‘Between’ on Netflix, Feuds (?) With Ariana Grande

Jennette McCurdy to Star in ‘Between’ on Netflix, Feuds (?) With Ariana Grande

Jennette McCurdy will soon star in a new drama on Netflix called Between. Fans can’t binge-watch the series, however, as there is a bit of a catch. The survivalist thriller will also be aired on Canada’s City network, as they have the first-window rights to the drama. This means City will air each episode first, and then it will be released to Netflix for airing.

Between is about a town beset by a plague that kills everyone over the age of 21. Jennette McCurdy plays Wiley Day, a pregnant woman who survived the plague and has plans to give her baby up for adoption and leave Pretty Lake–the town in which the drama takes place.

Jennette McCurdy is best known for her role as Sam Puckett on the hit Nickelodeon series Sam & Cat. In addition, she has had roles on Victorious, Zoey 101, True Jackson VP, Malcolm in the Middle, and Lincoln Heights. She also writes, produces, and stars in her own online show called What’s Next for Sarah?

In other Jennette McCurdy news, she has made headlines recently for her supposed feud with Ariana Grande, with whom she starred on Sam & Cat. She insists that things got blown way out of proportion.

“I just feel that, you know Ariana and I were and are extremely close and very like-minded in a lot of different ways and then, sorta as the show dissolved, everybody wanted to find some sort of hidden meaning in our relationship,” McCurdy said recently during an interview with E! News. “Some [people] like drama and I think we butted heads at times but in a very sisterly way. She knows me so well and I know her so well that I think it was unfortunate that things kind of got misconstrued.”

Jennette McCurdy is likely very excited about the upcoming premiere of Between–on May 21st. Maybe Ariana Grande will show the world that she and Jennette McCurdy aren’t at odds by attending a celebration of the show’s premiere.

  • Jennette McCurdy: Role Model Rant A Sign Of Trouble?

Jennette McCurdy: Role Model Rant A Sign Of Trouble?

Jennette McCurdy has grown up in the public eye since she began her stint on the popular Nickelodeon show iCarly in 2007. Maybe it’s the stress of public life. Maybe it’s the recent scandal surrounding some leaked photos of her in her unmentionables.

Perhaps it was the cancellation of the show Jennette McCurdy co-starred in with Arianna Grande, Sam & Cat, or the rumor that a salary dispute caused the show to collapse. Of course, on top of it all Jennette McCurdy has also been dealing with the loss of her mother back in September of last year.

Whatever it was, something has caused Jennette McCurdy to compose a rant on Reddit that wavered between fairly mature statements and Miley-esqe “I’m not a role model” statements.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z-9zW-yhbd8

Here’s a bit of what she wrote on Reddit:

“I am not a role model. I don’t claim to be, I don’t try to be, and I don’t want to be. There was a time when I tried to live up to the aggrandizing title, that pedestal of a thing. Maybe it wasn’t so much that I was trying to live up to it. Perhaps I thought I could and I thought I was supposed to, so I gave it my best shot.”

Jennette McCurdy continued, “It’s fine, I can admit it. Back in my adolescence, I was more amiable, bubbly, and on lightly humid days, maybe even flouncy. I was role model material and then some. Fast forward a few years, I’ve grown up a bit (emphasis on “a bit”). I might not be any wiser, but I like to think I’m more honest.”

Ok, so it’s not exactly Miley, and she probably won’t chop off her hair and go crazy. I hope not anyway. Jennette McCurdy has been posting some racy pics lately and the statements she makes have become bolder, but she did actually offer some pretty good advice for young people:

“But in order to be thought of as a real, true role model, I believe you have to know a person and their actions, inside and out. Calling a celebrity a role model is like calling a stranger a role model. The knowledge you have of a celebrity is no more than a caricature drawn by media tastemakers specializing in selling you an image you’re dying to buy. It’s good to have heroes, but you have to look for them in the right places. They say don’t look for true love in a bar, well I say, don’t look for role models on screens.” Jennette McCurdy said.

Jennette McCurdy added, “But please, I encourage you to find role models in the people around you, the people in your everyday life, the people that are your friends and family.”

Here’s hoping the spotlight doesn’t get the best of Jennette McCurdy like it has so many other young actors.

  • Jennette McCurdy Admits She Is No Role Model

Jennette McCurdy Admits She Is No Role Model

Jennette McCurdy has finally opened up about the cancellation of Sam and Cat, and insists that she is no role model and has never tried to be one.

Rumors that Nickelodeon’s hit show was destined to be cancelled have been surfacing for months now. However, the network just confirmed that the show was cancelled last week after only one season.

Sam and Cat was originally scheduled to air only 20 episodes, but because it was such a big hit amongst the “tweens,” Nickelodeon ordered 20 more episodes for the first season. Things seemed to be going great until rumors surfaced that Ariana Grande, McCurdy’s co-star, was making more money than her. While Grande claims this is not true, Jennette seems to believe so and even boycotted the 2014 Kids’ Choice Awards this year.

Another possible reason for Sam and Cat being cancelled is McCurdy’s sexy selfies being leaked to the media. Several pictures of Jennette posing in her underwear were seen all over social media, causing concern for Nickelodeon producers and parents of the children that watch the show. They felt that Jennette was no longer a good role model for the viewers.

Jennette says she does not want to be a role model and has never claimed to be one. In a post on Reddit, McCurdy shared a lengthy statement, clearing up her fan’s ideas of what a role model should be. Read the entire post below:

I am not a role model.

I don’t claim to be, I don’t try to be, and I don’t want to be.

There was a time when I tried to live up to the aggrandizing title, that pedestal of a thing. Maybe it wasn’t so much that I was trying to live up to it. Perhaps I thought I could and I thought I was supposed to, so I gave it my best shot.

It’s fine, I can admit it. Back in my adolescence, I was more amiable, bubbly, and on lightly humid days, maybe even flouncy. I was role model material and then some.

Fast forward a few years, I’ve grown up a bit (emphasis on “a bit”). I might not be any wiser, but I like to think I’m more honest.

With the growing I’ve done, I realize that to attempt to live up to the idea of being a role model is to set myself up for foregone failure. Sure, I’ve made some mistakes, but even if I hadn’t, people would have found invisible ones. This world is one seemingly most keen on judgment and negativity, despite all the hearts and smiley emoticons.

To remove myself from the role model battle, the falsified standard set by the bubblegum industry, is – in my eyes – to remove myself from the counterintuitive battle of attempting to be something perfect while being glaringly aware of my imperfections.

Sure, I still love my teddy bears. I still love a heart emoji (the white heart in the pink box is my favorite) and I still have a soft spot for American Girl dolls. I still love a cute dress, a good pop song, and a vanilla-scented candle. But these things don’t define me or determine that I am any kind of a role model. What defines a person as a role model is the way they live their life. And no offense, but none of you know how I live my life.

Now before you start thinking I’m some sort of derelict that leads a life of crime, let me clarify. I am proud of the way I live my life. I am proud of my choices. I am proud that no one can call me fake or say I don’t stand up for myself. I am proud that my friends and family would say that I’m a good person.

But in order to be thought of as a real, true role model, I believe you have to know a person and their actions, inside and out. Calling a celebrity a role model is like calling a stranger a role model. The knowledge you have of a celebrity is no more than a caricature drawn by media tastemakers specializing in selling you an image you’re dying to buy. It’s good to have heroes, but you have to look for them in the right places. They say don’t look for true love in a bar, well I say, don’t look for role models on screens.

For those of you who do consider me a role model, I hope you don’t read this and cringe. I appreciate you. I appreciate you so much! I appreciate that you believe in me, support me, and in some way, hope to live your life like me. But please, I encourage you to find role models in the people around you, the people in your everyday life, the people that are your friends and family. I encourage you to base your idea of a role model off of someone you know well enough to see purely, not in the light, cameras, and actions of Hollywood.

  • Jennette McCurdy Comes Clean About Sam And Cat

Jennette McCurdy isn’t your average celebrity. While some stars like a lot of attention and publicity, McCurdy prefers to stay out of the spotlight unless she is filming. McCurdy is best known for her roles in iCarly and Sam and Cat. Ariana Grande starred opposite of McCurdy in Sam and Cat and rumors suggest that the two did not get along.

Sam and Cat was a hit for Nickelodeon, but was surprisingly canceled after only one season. Most people assumed it was because McCurdy and Grande could not get along well enough to work together and some even said that McCurdy and Nickelodeon did not get along either.

Several months before the show was canceled there were rumors that McCurdy, Grande and Nickelodeon were not getting along because McCurdy was upset that Grande was being paid more than her. Grande made a statement about the rumors and said that they were simply not true.

Grande was also quick to make a statement about the cancellation of Sam and Cat and seemed upset that it was canceled. McCurdy on the other hand acted like nothing happened and didn’t make a statement about her recent issues until now.

“I am not a role model. I don’t claim to be, I don’t try to be, and I don’t want to be. There was a time when I tried to live up to the aggrandizing title, that pedestal of a thing. Maybe it wasn’t so much that I was trying to live up to it. Perhaps I thought I could and I thought I was supposed to, so I gave it my best shot. It’s fine, I can admit it. Fast forward a few years, I’ve grown up a bit (emphasis on “a bit”). I might not be any wiser, but I like to think I’m more honest,” she said.

McCurdy went on to say that she is not embarrassed or ashamed of how she lives her life but thinks that the pressure of trying to be a role model is just too much and not something she desires.

“Now before you start thinking I’m some sort of derelict that leads a life of crime, let me clarify. I am proud of the way I live my life. I am proud of my choices. I am proud that no one can call me fake or say I don’t stand up for myself. I am proud that my friends and family would say that I’m a good person,” she said.

Jennette McCurdy On Reddit: “I Am Not A Role Model”

Jennette McCurdy doesn’t want to be a role model. At all. Not even a little bit.

She has been through a lot in the last few months since the show that she shared with Ariana Grande, Sam & Cat, was cancelled. There is also the possibility that the cancellation was due to some semi-scandalous leaked photos of her and perhaps also due to a salary dispute.

All of these things can be stressful for Jennette McCurdy and life right now is probably a far cry from what her life was like when she first started acting way back in 2000. In addition to all of that, she continues to mourn the loss of her mother who passed away on September 20th of last year.

All of these things along with the pressure that comes along with being a celebrity may have led to Jennette McCurdy’s rant that took place Thursday on Reddit.

Jennette McCurdy stated of her former image, “There was a time when I tried to live up to the aggrandizing title, that pedestal of a thing.
I was role model material and then some.”

She seems to be trying to relieve some of the pressure of trying to live up to the Jennette McCurdy that everyone thinks she should be. She is trying to just be herself and be okay with that. This seems to be a pretty mature stance for the Nickelodeon starlet.

“To remove myself from the role model battle, the falsified standard set by the bubblegum industry, is – in my eyes – to remove myself from the counterintuitive battle of attempting to be something perfect while being glaringly aware of my imperfections.” said Jennette McCurdy.

She also encourages Jennette McCurdy fans to look around their lives for role models, not at celebrities like her, who are essentially strangers painted by media.

Jennette McCurdy said, “For those of you who do consider me a role model, I hope you don’t read this and cringe. I appreciate you. I appreciate you so much! I appreciate that you believe in me, support me, and in some way, hope to live your life like me. But please, I encourage you to find role models in the people around you, the people in your everyday life, the people that are your friends and family.”

That’s actually pretty good advice from Jennette McCurdy. Look around in your life, kids!

  • Miranda Cosgrove and Jordin Sparks Promote NFL Women’s Apparel

Miranda Cosgrove and Jordin Sparks are just two of the famous faces signed on to promote the NFL’s women’s apparel line.

They’re joining Erin Heatherton, China Anne McClain, Dania Ramirez, and Jessica Szohr to show off the line of fan wear geared toward younger women.

The first glimpse of the new ads shows Cosgrove wearing a black, grey, and gold New Orleans Saints tee from the youth clothing line. She’s glammed it up with glittery gold pants.

Cosgrove, who became famous on Nickelodeon’s iCarly series opposite Jennette McCurdy, also voiced a character in 2010’s animated hit Despicable Me and its 2013 sequel.

She recently finished filming the thriller The Intruders.

Phoenix native Sparks stayed true to her home team in an Arizona Cardinals jersey. The shirt is emblazened with Larry Fitzgerald’s number 11 and also bears the Nike logo.

Sparks’ father, retired professional football player Phillippi Sparks, played for the New York Giants for eight seasons from 1992 to 1999. But Sparks defended her team choice:

“I was born and raised in Arizona. Although I have an allegiance to the Giants because of my daddy, I bleed Cardinal Red.”

Sparks jumpstarted her singing-songwriting career by winning the sixth season of American Idol in 2007. She released her first studio album in November of that year. “No Air,” her duet with Chris Brown, was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2009.

Since then Sparks has tried her hand at acting – she’ll appear in Left Behind with Nicolas Cage, Chad Michael Murray, and Lea Thompson on October 3 – and attempted to get a third studio album released.

Gossip Girl star Jessica Szohr is a native of Menomonee Falls, WI so it’s no surprise that in the first round of ads she’s wearing a vintage-look Green Bay Packers sweater.

“It’s very fitting and it looks vintage,” Szohr said of the ’47 Brand Passblock sweater. “It’s different and cool, which is what I really liked about it.”

Szohr, who has dated Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers in the past, said it “was awesome to me that you could wear this line and be fashion-forward and comfortable and feel feminine and sexy while you’re just sitting and watching a football game … It reaches all ages and all different types of sports fans.”

Heatherton, McClain, and Ramirez will most likely be stepping out in team attire in the coming weeks since, as the official NFL Shop has already reminded fans, the season starts in just 50 days.

  • Jennette McCurdy Makes Lame Statement

Jennette McCurdy has had a lot of things happen lately that would make her want to bury her head in the sand from embarrassment. Like leaked photos of her in her delicates that may or may not have ultimately shut down Sam & Cat, her show with Ariana Grande.

The rumors of a raging feud between Jennette McCurdy and Grande over salary would also be a bit of an embarrassment.

However, this week Jennette McCurdy kinda added a cherry to the top of the fiasco. In an interview, she made a statement that was…well…a little childish.

When speaking of her 2600 sq. ft. mansion in Studio City, Ca., she said, “I picked out all of the furniture myself, and that makes me proud.”

As though that were a big accomplishment worth noting. Would that fall under the category of first world accomplishments?

There’s nothing wrong with being proud of possessing the skill to go to a really expensive furniture store and pick out whatever you like because you’re a TV star and, well, you can. Jennette McCurdy, like so many of us do, realized that the statement was ridiculous almost as soon as it came out of her mouth.

She posted to Instagram for a little self-chastisement.

“A piece on me and my home in the latest @People magazine home issue. ‘I picked out all my own furniture, and that makes me proud. That quote doesn’t make me proud lol,” she said.

The piece was about her home, which she says centers around her lovely bedroom.

“My whole setup is bedroom-centric. I order a pizza, then set the box on my bed. I read in bed. I even have an office, but I never go in it to do work; I just plop my laptop on my bed. It feels like a comfy little haven.”

Poor Jennette McCurdy. She made a dumb statement just like we all do. But, it is kinda nice not to have the dumb things we say published for people all over the world to read!

  • Jennette McCurdy’s Show “Sam And Cat” Canceled

Jennette McCurdy has been a star since she was a child and her most recent television show Sam and Cat seemed to be popular. Unfortunately, it was canceled after only one season. The reason for the cancellation could be due to conflicts between McCurdy and Ariana Grande as well as Nickelodeon.

Rumors claim that Ariana Grande was being paid more than McCurdy and that McCurdy was not happy about the pay difference. Earlier this year, McCurdy skipped out on the Nickelodeon Teen Choice Awards and the pay difference was rumored to be the reason.

Ariana Grande was quick to say that the actresses were both paid the same and that she and McCurdy got along great.

“Jennette and I agreed upfront that we would be treated equally on this show in all regards (as we should be, considering we each work just as hard as the other on this show),” Grande said about the rumors. “The rumors circulating about our contracts and our salary not being equal are absolutely ridiculous and false. I don’t know who’s putting these idiotic quotes out there but I thought I’d straighten it out and try to end this nonsense.”

Grande was also quick to talk about the show’s cancelation and her character on the show saying,

“So the news is out about Sam & Cat. I felt it wasn’t my place to make any sort of announcement so I kept quiet until now. I want to thank Nickelodeon for making a childhood dream of mine come true, for being a family to me, for being so accommodating and supportive of my multitasking with my music career, and for of course introducing me to many of my fans however many years ago. I want to thank Dan Schneider for allowing me to play such a special, beautiful character who I hid behind for so long. What I mean by that is when I was younger, people loved Cat so much I used to pretend to be more like her. It took me a long time to be brave enough to separate myself and show people how different we actually are…. I think that’s honestly because I admire her so much. Her appreciation for life and everybody she encounters. Her passion and genuine excitement for the little things that most people dread like school projects and work. She always saw negative obstacles as opportunities to make things good.”

She went on to thank Nickelodeon for the opportunity.

McCurdy, on the other hand, didn’t seem bothered by the cancellation and has not released a statement about it or even talked about it on Twitter.

It almost seems like she saw it coming or is happy with the news. In fact, she might even be relieved to not have to be around Ariana Grande.

Do you think McCurdy and Grande got along off camera or are their issues the reason for the cancellation?

  • Ariana Grande Says Goodbye To Cat

Ariana Grande confirmed on Sunday that the Nickelodeon show Sam & Cat, that she starred in with Jennette McCurdy, has been canceled and that Cat is going away for good.

July 17th’s episode will be considered the season finale, though it is only technically the 36th episode.

The show was abruptly put on “hiatus” back in April after scandalous pics of Jenny McCurdy in her delicates were leaked online. Then there were rampant rumors that Ariana Grande and Jennette McCurdy were feuding over each other’s salaries.

Although, that rumor was rebuffed by Ariana Grande quickly.

“The rumors circulating about our contracts and our salary not being equal are absolutely ridiculous and false. I don’t know who’s putting these idiotic quotes out there but I thought I’d straighten it out and try to end this nonsense.”

Included in her lengthy statement was a flat out denial that salary had anything to do with the feud or the “hiatus”.

“As far as the show goes, I don’t know what’s happening because I’m not directly involved with the problem but I just wanted to address this one rumor in particular because I am NOT making more money than my costar, nor do I think I should be,” she continued. “So we can all move on and get out of our heads that this was a money thing cause I don’t play like that at all. I am, have always been and always will be about equality and fairness.”

Ariana Grande hit Facebook with a lengthy goodbye to Nickelodeon and the character she played for so long.

Well, at least Ariana Grande still has her raging music career to fall back on!

  • Ariana Grande: No Longer “Cat” On Nickelodeon

Ariana Grande and Jennette McCurdy are parting ways after extensive rumored feuding on the set of their Nickelodeon show Sam & Cat. The show has been canceled, though it showed great promise to become a Nickelodeon staple.

The show followed Ariana Grande (Cat) and Jennette McCurdy (Sam) as they become roommates and begin their own babysitting service. The characters are pulled from other hit Nickelodeon shows. Ariana Grande’s Cat is from the show Victorious. Jennette McCurdy’s Sam is from the immensely popular iCarly.

Nickelodeon ordered an impressive 40 episodes of Sam & Cat after just four episodes had aired. The show was on target to be a major hit for a network that doesn’t suffer from a shortage of major hits.

That’s when the nude photos of Jennette McCurdy were leaked online. Then the show announced a hiatus in April.

Since Ariana Grande has supposedly been feuding with her co-star and the shows executives over salary negotiations, the plug has been pulled on the whole project.

“Nickelodeon will not be producing more episodes of Sam & Cat,” a network spokesperson said in a statement. “We are very proud of the show and its very talented cast and we wish them all the best.”

Ariana Grande took to Facebook to air her goodbyes to the show and her character.

Jennette McCurdy has been noticeably absent from commenting on social media, just as she was noticeably absent from the Kids’ Choice Awards in March amid the rumored feud with Ariana Grande.

Best of luck to both Ariana Grande and Jennette McCurdy in their new paths, wherever they may lead.

  • Jennette McCurdy Tweets That Ex Is “So Ugly”

Jennette McCurdy is active on Twitter and posts everything from crazy pictures to her random thoughts. While most of her posts are all in good fun, every now and then she crosses the line and posts something that could be considered offensive.

On one of her most recent posts, McCurdy talked about her ex and described him as being ugly. Most people assume she was referring to her ex-boyfriend, Andre Drummond.

Drummond and McCurdy dated for a few months, but broke up after they realized there was no chemistry between the two. Drummond did not acknowledge the comment and due to McCurdy’s sense of humor, she may not have meant it towards him or anyone in particular.

The two have had a rough break up and back in March when racy photos of McCreedy were leaked online, she blamed Drummond for leaking them. Drummond said that he did not leak the photos and said little more about the incident.

“I want nothing to do with her or the situation. I’m just worried about ball,” he said.

McCurdy has made other strange posts on Twitter that seem to be aimed at someone, but does not call them by name. In May she posted another Tweet that she seemed to hope would clear up any misunderstandings from past and future posts.

Do you think McCurdy’s Twitter post was directed towards Andre Drummond or was she just being her normal silly self and just posting for laughs?

  • Jennette McCurdy Disses Ex-Boyfriend Again

Jennette McCurdy is dissing her ex again, this time on Twitter.

In what has become known as her trademark outspoken style, McCurdy recently told the world that “sometimes I look at old photographs of my ex and I cry because he was so ugly.”

Pretty much everyone assumed McCurdy was referring to ex-boyfriend and NBA star Andre Drummond.

McCurdy, 22, and Drummond, 20, dated briefly in September 2013 after meeting via social media. She was his #WednesdayWomanCrush on Instagram and she turned the tables soon after by tagging Drummond as her #MondayManCrush.

Before the two hooked up, McCurdy did a little research on Drummond’s Twitter timeline:

“… judging by the amount of me-related posts he had shared, it seemed he had been expressing his crush on me for quite some time. I found it sweet, gutsy, and flattering,” she said.

A native of Mount Vernon, New York who attended high school and college in Connecticut, Drummond has played center for the Detroit Pistons since 2012.

Their relationship progressed from a private message on Twitter to text messages to phone conversations to daily FaceTime chats. Eventually Drummond traveled from Detroit to California to meet McCurdy.

McCurdy had her doubts about a face to face meeting, but at the time she said it went well:

“Overall, the Andre Drummond I got to know in person is the same person he projects online,” she revealed.

After the break-up, however, McCurdy claimed the couple’s first kiss didn’t go well:

“… it wasn’t great. It didn’t go great. No sparks and the mouth … the shapes weren’t right.”

McCurdy rose to fame on Nikelodeon’s iCarly, starring opposite Miranda Cosgrove from 2007 to 2012. In 2013 she landed a title role on the network’s spin-off Sam & Cat alongside Ariana Grande.

Network executives halted production on the sitcom earlier this year soon after scantily-clad selfies of McCurdy began circulating online. McCurdy insisted that the hold-up was due to compensation disputes versus the photos.

Paradoxically, when she’s not dissing her exes and generally being brutally, sometimes offensively honest on social media, McCurdy has some wise and impressively well-written words about living in the Internet age:

“BE CUTE, social media tells us. BE CLEVER. BE A STAR. LIVE YOUR LIFE IN A WAY THAT MAKES YOU SEEM LIKE EVERY MOVE YOU MAKE IS INTERESTING,” she writes.

“What’s a lot more interesting, turns out, are the moments not posed enough for pictures, witty enough for jokes, or polished enough to be sent to the world. The nuances and subtleties of life that cannot be translated in a way that the world will care to follow are precisely the best parts of life that exist.”

  • Jennette McCurdy: Only Latest Nickelodeon Scandal

When it comes to child stars and teen idols, many assume that it is Disney’s young stars that are more prone to scandals. From Mickey Mouse Club alumni Britney Spears to former Even Stevens star Shia LaBeouf, it seems growing up a Disney idol will inevitably lead to trouble at some point.

    Not so fast!

Over at rival Nickelodeon Studios, young stars are just as likely to put their foot in something that isn’t green slime.

Jennette McCurdy, star of iCarly and more recently Sam & Cat, says that her issue with Nickelodeon stems from the fact that she’s not paid nearly as much as her co-star Ariana Grande.

Despite her claim, some suspect her leaked pictures are what’s endangering the future of her popular Nickelodeon show.

Regardless of whether or not the photos are causing the renewal delay, McCurdy’s underwear pics are just the latest scandal for young stars associated with the network:

Jamie Lynn Spears’s Pregnancy – Many whispered that Jamie Lynn Spears only landed her show Zoey 101 because of the fame of her big sister, Britney. However, Jamie Lynn soon grew to be famous in her own right thanks to the hit Teen Nick series.

When the Britney Spears meltdown became big news, it seemed to everyone else that then 16-year-old Jamie Lynn Spears was a stable role model for kids who’d never do anything to cause any type of drama.

Then the world learned that Jamie Lynn Spears was soon going to be an unwed teen mother.

Young fans reeled, their parents raged, and Zoey 101 went bye-bye a short while later.

Jamie Lynn Spears went on hiatus to devote time to being a mom away from the spotlight. She has since married and intends to make a comeback.

Amanda Bynes Meltdown – Amanda Bynes was the apple of Nickelodeon’s eye for a long time, going back to her starring role on popular variety show All That. She was eventually given her own series, the wildly successful Amanda Show.

Between her popular Nickelodeon show and her burgeoning movie career, Bynes’s fame was exploding and she was a household name. This left the young actress nowhere to go but down.

From 2012 into 2013, Bynes’s behavior was growing increasingly bizarre in nature, leading many to speculate that the former child star was on the verge of a mental breakdown.

Then on July 24th, 2013, Bynes started a fire in a neighbor’s driveway. After nearly harming herself and her dog, Bynes was placed under 72-hour observation. Eventually she was sent to a treatment facility to recover from her various issues. Bynes’s mother was granted temporary conservatorship over her affairs.

Bynes seems to be faring much better these days. She’s retired from acting in favor of pursuing a career in fashion.

While Jennette McCurdy may be entangled in a scandal of her own right now, she can take heart that other Nick stars have experienced much worse and yet turned things around for themselves.

  • Jennette McCurdy Feuds with Nickelodeon over Salary

Recently, Jennette McCurdy became the latest victim of a photo leak.

The leaked photos showed the 21 year old in a thong and not much else. McCurdy claimed she sent the photos to ex-boyfriend, NBA player Andre Drummond. Drummond denies having any involvement in their leak.

On Saturday, the actress won the Kid’s Choice award for favorite TV show, along with co-star Ariana Grande, for Sam & Cat. Grande accepted the award on both McCurdy and her behalf, which immediately sparked rumors that McCurdy’s absence was due to Nickelodeon’s dissatisfaction with the leaked photos.

That same day she took to Twitter to offer her side of why she did not attend the Nickelodeon event. Her tweet states: “A lot of you guys are asking why I didn’t attend the KCAs…. I wish I could explain everything as thoroughly as I would like to, but unfortunately a simpler explanation is all I can write. I was put in an uncomfortable, compromising, unfair situation (many of you have guessed what it is) and I had to look out for me. I chose to not go because sticking up for what is right and what is fair is what my mom taught me is ALWAYS the most important thing. I want to thank those of you who have reached out with kind words of support, McCurdians and Arianators alike. No matter who or what you support, I believe in supporting fairness first. If you have done that, thank you.”

She also tweeted that her not attending the KCA had nothing to do with the leaked photos; she said it was all about Nickelodeon’s treatment of her.

TMZ did some digging and discovered that the reason behind McCurdy’s anger towards the network is because Grande makes much more money than her for working on Sam & Cat.

Nickelodeon has put the production of Sam & Cat on temporary hiatus, with an unknown number of episodes left to film for the 40 episode order for season one, and no order yet on a second season.
