Jay-Z And Beyonce: Reasons To Celebrate

Jay-Z and Beyonce have a lot to celebrate these days. For one thing, Beyonce’s birthday was a few days ago.

Jay-Z didn’t get her a card and flowers, nor did he take her for a quiet dinner. Ok, maybe he did. But we won’t hear about that stuff because this sweet video he made for her took center stage!

Jay-Z and Beyonce had an incredibly successful summer, and he used some behind the scenes footage from their tour to help compile her lovely birthday tribute.

But that’s not all! Jay-Z and Beyonce, along with Blue Ivy, were spotted arriving by private jet in Corsica. They’re expected to spend some down time in the south of France.

According to E! Online, Jay-Z and Beyonce have rented a yacht for the getaway that runs about $800,000 per week.

Though they have been rumored to be going through a rough time in their marriage, an insider told E! that they are really trying to make it work.

“They’ve had their problems, but they’re still solid. Going away for Beyonce’s birthday in September is a tradition they have. It’s a chance to get some quality time together and relax far from worries about their crazy work schedules.”

Jay-Z and Beyonce also have a huge summer payday to celebrate! Their On The Run tour, which began June 25th in Florida and ended August 6th in California, grossed $96 million from ticket sales reported by tour promoter Live Nation for 19 sold-out performances.

Their biggest show was the July 11th & 12th dates in New Jersey at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford. That show, with an staggering attendance of 89,165 fans, earned $11.5 million alone.

Happy birthday to Beyonce! Hopefully Jay-Z and Beyonce will get some time for her birthday to just be together away from it all and recover from whatever ails them.

  • Jay Z and Beyonce May Have Pulled ‘A Jedi Mind Trick’ On Us

Matthew Knowles, father and former manager of Beyonce, recently revealed his theory that the divorce rumors of the singer and her rapper husband Jay Z were “a Jedi mind trick.” Knowles claims that the rumors were orchestrated to drive sales up for the couple’s joint On The Run world tour.

As a guest on The Roula & Ryan Show on 104.1 KRBE in Houston, Knowles was asked by host Roula Christie how to deal in public relations with controversies such as the elevator incident between Solange Knowles and Jay Z or the divorce rumors surrounding his daughter and her husband. The elder Knowles replied, “I know—because we’ve done this, from experience—there’s a tour going on. So you have to sometimes ignite that tour. It’s called a Jedi mind trick. And the Jedi mind trick fools you a lot of times.”

One of the hosts then asked Knowles if it could be true that Beyonce, her sister and Jay Z staged and leaked the video of their fight in the elevator at an after-party of the Met Ball in New York. “All I know is the Jedi mind trick. Everybody’s talking about it. Ticket sales went up. Solange’s album sales went up 200 percent,” Knowles replied.

TMZ reported that Knowles had also tried to spark rumors about a Destiny’s Child reunion during the interview, since he claimed to still be their manager. However, he has not managed Beyonce’s career for years, although he said that he and his daughter talk every Sunday. “She’s still the humble, generous person that she’s always been,” he said.

Knowles’ interview happened days after Beyonce performed at the MTV Video Music Awards on August 24, where she was presented with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award by her husband Jay Z. He was carrying their daughter, Blue Ivy, when he joined Beyonce onstage and called her the “greatest living entertainer”. Beyonce kissed both Jay Z and Blue Ivy and called her husband “my beloved” in her acceptance speech.

  • Beyonce And Jay-Z Cleared Of Charges They Violated US Sanctions With Trip To Cuba

One year and four months after they took a trip to Cuba to celebrate their fifth wedding anniversary, Beyonce and Jay-Z have been cleared by the US Treasury Department of charges that they violated US sanctions on the country. On Wednesday the Treasury Department’s Office of Inspector General issued a report that said the superstar couple’s trip to the Communist-run country did not violate US sanctions against Cuba, which includes the ban of US citizens from traveling to the island as tourists unless the trip is under a special license.

A formal investigation into the reasons behind the visit of Beyonce and Jay-Z to Cuba was declined by the Office of Foreign Assets Control, which grants special licenses to people or organizations traveling to Cuba to sponsor educational exchange programs. The Treasury Department’s Inspector General then concluded that this was “reasonable.”

The report went on to say that Beyonce and Jay-Z were licensed to visit Cuba under the “people-to-people” educational exchange program and that there was no evidence that the couple abused it. Beyonce and Jay-Z’s activities in Cuba, as reported by the media, were reviewed by federal investigators. These activities included walking tours of Havana’s neighborhoods and Cuba’s top art school as well as dinners in private homes and stops at dance clubs, where they listened to live music and danced.

The report concluded that, “All of these activities serve the US foreign policy goal of helping the Cuban people by facilitating exchanges with them and supporting the development of independent activity and civil society.”

It was in April 2013 when three Cuban-American Republicans, Sen. Marco Rubio and Reps. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen and Mario Diaz-Balart, raised an outcry over Beyonce and Jay-Z’s trip to Cuba. They contended that the US Government was becoming lax on restrictions for travel to the Communist country.
