  • Jennifer Aniston, Jason Bateman to Reunite on the Big Screen

Jennifer Aniston and Jason Bateman, stars of Horrible Bosses and Horrible Bosses 2, are reuniting on the big screen to star alongside SNL’s Kate McKinnon and actor T.J. Miller in a new film called Office Christmas Party. Shooting is set to start this spring, with the film hitting theaters in time for the Christmas season, on December 9.

2014’s Horrible Bosses 2 marks the last time Jennifer Aniston starred in a film. She and Jason Bateman are an excellent comedy team.

By the time Office Christmas Party arrives in theaters, Kate McKinnon will have already starred in the Ghostbusters reboot that comes out this summer.

Jennifer Aniston is, of course, best known for her role as Rachel on Friends. She has appeared in several films besides Horrible Bosses, including Cake, Wanderlust, and She’s Funny That Way. Jason Bateman has starred in dozens of films including This Is Where I Leave You, The Longest Week, Identity Thief, Hit and Run, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Tropic Thunder, and more. He is set to star in Zootopia later this year.

Are you among those who feel Jennifer Aniston and Jason Bateman play off one another perfectly? If so, you’re likely thrilled to learn they’ll be together on the big screen once again, just in time for Christmas.

  • Jennifer Aniston Honeymoon Not Ruined by Cruel Coincidence of Carmel Musgrove’s Death

Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux wed in August in a secret ceremony, flying off with close friends to Bora Bora for a honeymoon getaway the next day.

Even though Jennifer Aniston has been listed in connection with the death of Carmel Musgrove–a woman who attended the getaway with friends of Aniston and Theroux–reports that their honeymoon was ruined are greatly exaggerated.

Casey Musgrove was the assistant to Lethal Weapon and Matrix films producer Joel Silver. Her nude body was found along the shore on August 20th. Reports say she died of a combination of drowning and “the effects of drugs and alcohol in her system.”

Stephen Huvane is Jennifer Aniston’s publicist. He issued a statement that said Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux had returned home to L.A. from their honeymoon when this tragedy occurred.

“Her honeymoon was well over, and she was already back in Los Angeles when this horrible tragedy occurred,” he said.

While Jennifer Aniston was surely saddened by this acquaintance’s death, it in no way ruined the honeymoon she and Justin shared with close friends Courteney Cox, Chelsea Handler, Jason Bateman, Jimmy Kimmel, and more.

Although News Australia recently reported that the honeymoon was destroyed by the tragic death of Carmel Musgrove, that is a gross exaggeration.

In much happier Jennifer Aniston news, the actress has teamed up with Robert De Niro to film his passion project, The Comedian, next year. In The Comedian, De Niro plays an insult comic who falls for Jennifer Aniston’s character at a wedding.

The Comedian will be produced by those who made Jennifer Aniston’s 2014 film, Cake.

  • Jennifer Aniston, Justin Theroux Honeymooning in Bora Bora–With Friends

Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux are honeymooning in Bora Bora. The couple wed Wednesday in an extravagant affair at their Bel Air mansion. Courteney Cox served as Jennifer Aniston’s maid of honor, and went along on the honeymoon, too.

In fact, a few friend joined Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux on their honeymoon. In addition to Cox, the newlyweds have thus far been spotted in the company of Chelsea Handler and Jason Bateman, too.

Both Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux were spotted wearing the same outfits they donned prior to departing from California. She is wearing a striped shirt and straw hat. He is wearing a fedora and white t-shirt.

Flying on a private plane out of LAX, the honeymooners and their friends were spotted as soon as they reached their Polynesian destination.

Although one might expect the newlyweds would want some privacy on their honeymoon, Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux are known for traveling with their closest friends. They’ve been to Bora Bora before, too–for their second anniversary as a couple, as well as for Justin Theroux’s birthday–just about a year ago.

What a wonderful getaway this will be for Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux, as well as for their travel buddies. There’s nothing quite like escaping the insanity of a place like Hollywood and soaking up some tropical rays.

  • Jennifer Aniston Shares the Secrets of Her Less-Than-Glamorous Transformation for ‘Cake’

Jennifer Aniston needed to add a few pounds to her admirable frame for the role of Claire Simmons in her new film, the Daniel Barnz-directed drama Cake, so she set out to accomplish her goal in a healthy way.

According to Us Weekly, the 45-year-old Friends alum says she didn’t just pig out like so many male actors do when they need to pack on the pounds for a role. She shared her carefully laid out plan during an American Cinematheque screening of the film in Los Angeles on Nov. 19. Speaking with host Jason Bateman, the actress revealed some of her secrets to gaining weight in a healthy way.

“I knew that was coming,” she said to a fan who asked her how she transformed her body to portray Claire, a woman who suffers chronic pain following an accident. “I basically just didn’t work out for two-and-a-half months. I stopped working out and I stopped being as careful about my diet as I normally am. I was still healthy, but I’d allow more.”

Aniston also had to do what most actresses fear — going without makeup on camera, except for some shadowing to make her look like she had dark circles under her eyes.

“That’s a byproduct of the character,” Aniston told her Horrible Bosses costar of the less-than-glamorous look. “I’ve said it before: It’s very refreshing.

“There’s a level of fearlessness. I think that you have to be able to sort of go, ‘F–k it, I’m ready to just disappear.’”

Aniston said the transformation for the role, which is already creating Oscar buzz, was also dependent upon understanding how the pain affected the character.

“First it was just understanding the logistics of what the accident was — where did the pain exist, what was the injury,” Aniston said.

She then had to master “the cadence of [the character’s] voice, lowering the voice into her body,” she said. “Because I can tend to be up here.”

The final touch to the transformation was the addition of fake scars, which could be a tricky proposition, explained the actress and spokeswoman for Aveena.

“There was a big concern with the scars…We did a lot of experimenting and we had an extraordinary makeup artist make these scars for us,” said Aniston. “We did some trials, some scar test days. Oh, if you could have seen some of the pictures, it looked like Chainsaw Massacre kind of stuff, you know? Like Freddy Kruger.

“And by the end, I didn’t even notice they were there,” she said. “And I also thought they were…I don’t know, I thought they were kind of beautiful.”

  • Tina Fey And Jason Bateman Co-Star In ‘This Is Where I Leave You’

Saturday Night Live alumna Tina Fey recently attended the Toronto Film Festival, where the opening of her new film This Is Where I Leave You happens on September 19, Friday. She did some interviews there with her co-star on the film, actor Jason Bateman, to talk about her role in the movie as well as current events such as the leaked celebrity nude photos.

Fey, 44, is a year younger than Bateman, and the actors play quarreling siblings in This Is Where I Leave You. The duo joked that nobody would find any nude photos of them. However, Fey also tackled the fact that the nude photo leaks were a serious invasion of privacy. “There’s an impulse with this to blame the women. It’s not their fault. It’s as bad as if someone went to their home and pulled the covers down while they were asleep,” she said.

Fey and Bateman were also interviewed by MTV News’ Josh Horowitz and subjected to a round of “Would You Rather”. When asked if they would rather Justin Bieber be their husband or son, Fey immediately replied that she would choose him to be her son so she could “lock that s—t down!” Bateman, reminded her, however, that she could divorce Bieber if he were her husband and Fey accordingly changed her answer.

Her role in This Is Where I leave You is a departure from her usual characters of hard-working, stressed-out women. In the new film, Fey plays a pampered wife returning to her childhood home to deal with the death of her father. “I play a lot of characters who are defined by their work — or they work too much. This is a lady who doesn’t work. That alone was interesting to me,” said Fey. “From the outside, her life seems perfect yet she’s the person who’s not really happy with the choices in her life.”

  • Anna Kendrick Claims She Hasn’t Been Hit on in 5 Years

Anna Kendrick Claims She Hasn’t Been Hit on in 5 Years

Anna Kendrick recently told Elle magazine that she hasn’t been hit on in five years.

Difficult as it may be to believe, Kendrick said she “honest to God” hasn’t been hit on since 2009’s Up in the Air, the romantic drama she starred in alongside George Clooney, Jason Bateman, and Vera Farmiga.

The 28-year-old actress, singer, and social media star downplays her sex appeal: “I’ve never felt like I’ve exactly traded on my looks.”

She called herself a ultra-late bloomer, not surprisingly putting a humorous spin on it in her Elle interview:

“… it means you never have to wonder if guys are only interested in you because you’ve got boobs.”

Kendrick says that spilled over into her acting career.

“Similarly, I think I’m lucky that I’ve never had a crisis about whether the only reason I’m successful is because I’m crazy hot. It’s not something that crosses my mind.”

Crazy hot or not, Kendrick is enjoying tremendous success right now.

When she was just 12-years-old the Portland, Maine native earned a Tony award nomination for her performance in the Broadway musical High Society. It was Kendrick’s first acting role, and things only went up from there.

After nabbing a supporting role in the movie adaptation of Stephanie Meyer’s best-selling young adult novel Twilight, Kendrick went on to receive Oscar, Golden Globe, and Screen Actors Guild award nominations for her performance in Up in the Air.

Kendrick put her vocal talent to work in the 2012 musical comedy Pitch Perfect. She recorded “Cups” for the film’s soundtrack and the song spent 44 weeks on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart.

In April Kendrick made her Saturday Night Live debut with well-received spoofs of Disney classics Beauty and the Beast and The Little Mermaid.

Fast Company named Kendrick number eight on their list of the “100 Most Creative People in Business 2014” and she boasts over 1.4 million followers on Instagram and more than 2.5 million on Twitter.

    What’s up next for Kendrick?

She says she wants to take a break from filming musicals as soon as she wraps Pitch Perfect 2.

At a February screening for The Last Five Years, a musical costarring Jeremy Jordan, Kendrick said “I never want to sing again, honestly. It’s hard as f-ck.”

She said going directly from The Last Five Years to Into the Woods in which she stars as Cinderella opposite Emily Blunt, Johnny Depp, Chris Pine, and Meryl Streep was just too much.

“I was like, ‘I don’t want to have to think about my voice so much.’ I want to be able to drink beer whenever I want.”

Finding non-musical roles hasn’t proved a problem for Kendrick. She’s set to appear alongside Jennifer Aniston in Cake and Orlando Bloom in Digging for Fire.

After that she’ll move on to Mr. Right with Sam Rockwell (Glory Daze) and The Hollars with John Krasinski (The Office.)

  • Jason Bateman Talks Acting and Directing ‘Bad Words’

Jason Bateman normally portrays the good guy in films, but this time around fans get to see a much different facet of his acting abilities.

In his new film Bad Words, which he starred in and directed, he actually plays the role of a bitter man by the name of Guy Trilby. The black comedy film centers around Bateman’s character who bullies his way into a children’s spelling bee.

According to NBC News, Bateman stopped by the Today show on Monday, Mar. 10 to share some details about the upcoming film.

While most people would have little remorse toward the opposing character in a film, Bateman feels otherwise. During his interview on the show, he actually expressed deep sympathy for the antagonistic character he portrays in the film.

“He is a gentleman that has had his feelings hurt,” he explained. “He’s not as smart as you or me or our viewing public here. He’s not well-equipped to … lick his wounds. So he’s doing something kind of petulant and impulsive here, and he is crashing a spelling bee to kind of extract some revenge.”

The Hit and Run actor also shared glints of his experience as a director for the film. With the substantial number of children on the set, he revealed that he had to actually sojourn down memory lane and relive some of his own days as a child actor.

Bateman had one of his first recurring roles on Little House on the Prairie back in 1981-82. He used his experiences with the show’s actor and occasional director Michael Landon as template for his own interactions with the children on the set of Bad Words.

“He took such good care of all of us little kids,” said Bateman. “I found myself recalling a lot of those memories about how I liked the set to be, so I wasn’t so scared or if I was bored he’d make it fun.”

However, even though he now has substantial experience as a director, he admits that he’s no smarter than he was before taking on a directorial role. “I’m just a dumb actor,” he quipped.

Bad Words hits theaters nationwide on March 28.

  • ‘Arrested Development’ Movie Could Be Just For Netflix, According to Jason Bateman

We’ve been hearing about a possible Arrested Development movie for years, and since the launch of Season 4 on Netflix, creator Mitch Hurwitz has been hinting that the next chapter for the Bluth family would indeed come in the form of a movie. This week, Hurwitz talked to Rolling Stone, and said he’s currently writing it.

Now, Deadline has an interview out with star Jason Bateman, who talks a little about it (among other things). It sounds like it’s still up in the air in terms of whether the movie would come to theaters or just to Netflix. Here’s an excerpt from what Bateman had to say:

So it’s a three act saga Mitch wants to tell. He took the first act out of the script and put it in these Netflix episodes. What I understand is that it’s going to be a two-hour movie for theatrical distribution or for Netflix. This will (feasibly) allow the cast to be on the screen at the same time and get around all those contractual barriers that prevent other cast members from appearing on other shows. Maybe that will be in the next year or so. My original pitch was to do a Michael Apted 7 Up thing where every seven years we check in with the Bluths to see where they are at.

Hurwitz has indicated that Fox, which owns the franchise (even though they canceled it years ago), has been the main hold-up. They have to get the greenlight from Fox before they can actually make this thing, and certainly many details will still have to be worked out.

Either way, Netflix has made it clear that it would lend its full support to whatever format Hurwitz wants to pursue. Interestingly, in the Rolling Stone interview, Hurwitz said that he’s also working on another unspecified project for Netflix.

Netflix’s Arrested Development episodes are currently up for three Emmys. When asked if he was surprised it didn’t get more nominations, Bateman said it wasn’t surprising after the mixed reviews the season got, but implied that reviewing the season is like reviewing the first 20 minutes of a movie (see his above “first act” reference).
