  • Keira Knightley, James Righton Welcome Baby, Gender Still A Mystery

Keira Knightley, most recently of The Imitation Game fame, welcomed her first baby with husband James Righton. It’s uncertain when the baby was born or whether she had a boy or a girl, which is very typical Keira Knightley style.

It was back in February when Knightley appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that she joked about not having any kind of birth plan in place.

“There isn’t an option to sort of keep it in, is there?” she asked. “So, I’m assuming my plan is to get it out. But apparently there’s more to the plan than that. I don’t know what that is. Still, my plan is to get it out. It will come out.”

Keira Knightley dished about her pregnancy on the red carpet at the Golden Globes back in January, too.

“Luckily, I don’t have lipstick. I only have nuts in here. It’s the wonderful thing about being pregnant. You just need to make sure you have snacks. So this is a snack bag,” she said.

Page Six reports that although neither Keira Knightley nor her husband wanted anyone to know the sex of their baby before she gave birth, she may have slipped at the SAG Awards earlier in 2015.

“It’s all quite loose,” she said of her maternity style. “I’m quite comfortable, she’s quite comfortable.”

Did Keira Knightley and James Righton have a baby girl? It seems until one of them confirms the baby’s birth, fans will simply have to wait and see.

  • Keira Knightley Could Not Be More Adorable In Latest Baby Bump Pics

Keira Knightley is getting close to giving birth to her first child with husband James Righton, and the latest pics of the expectant “mum” could not be more adorable.

Always beautiful, Keira Knightley absolutely glows now that her due date is approaching.

In her latest outings, the 30-year-old British actress has been seen in a variety of elegant ensembles.

On one outing, Keira Knightley sported an all-black dress and jackets, accessorized with comfy sandals.

Despite this being her first pregnancy and initiation into motherhood, Keira Knightley seems more than ready and unconcerned.

Joking with Ellen DeGeneres about the “whole birthing plan” idea, Keira Knightley asked the host, “Sorry, but what is the plan apart from to get it out?”

“There isn’t an option to sort of keep it in, is there?” she said. “So, I’m assuming my plan is to get it out. But apparently there’s more to the plan than that. I don’t know what that is. Still, my plan is to get it out. It will come out.”

Keira has apparently decided to not find out the sex of her child, but as she waits, she longs for the pleasures on her former, non-pregnant state. She told DeGeneres that at one medical appointment the doctor asked if she had any questions.

“Yes,” Knightley answered. “When can I drink? Please? I just want a margarita!”

Husband James is helping her out as much as possible in this area.

“[James is] having a great time,” Keira Knightley said. “I’m eating for two and he’s drinking for two!”

Do you think Keira Knightley will have a girl or a boy?

  • Keira Knightley, James Righton Expecting First Child

Keira Knightley and her husband James Righton are expecting their first baby. The actress, who learned of a Golden Globe and SAG nomination for her role in The Imitation Game in just the last day or so, has been rumored to be expecting, but the pregnancy was only confirmed today. Neither Knightley nor Righton has spoken publicly about their impending parenthood status, but major news outlets are saying it’s so.

It was when Keira Knightley gave up her penchant for wearing form-fitting clothing–trading that style in for loose-fitting attire–that rumors about her being pregnant started circulating. The New York Post reports she is more than three months along.

Knightley and Righton got married in Mazan, France back in May of 2013, after dating for about two years. He is the keyboardist and a co-vocalist for the Klaxons. In addition to The Imitation Game, for which she received nominations for her portrayal of Joan Clarke, Keira Knightley has starred in the Pirates of the Caribbean film series, Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, Pride and Prejudice, Anna Karenina, Begin Again, and Laggies.

It’s uncertain whether Knightley will stay home with her baby once he or she is born, or return to work shortly after the birth. In 2012, she told Vogue that being a stay-at-home mom simply wasn’t her thing.

“I’m glad that the subject is coming up again,” she said at the time, referring to the ages-old debate over whether women can successfully–and happily–do both. “I remember doing interviews, and people would ask, as if it was a joke, ‘So you mean you are a feminist?’ As though feminism couldn’t be discussed unless we were making fun of it. I don’t want to deny my femininity. But would I want to be a stay-at-home mother? No. On the other hand, you should be allowed to do that, as should men, without being sneered at.”

Sometimes mothers change their minds about said stance once they are pregnant or see their new baby’s precious little face. As an actress, however, Keira Knightley needn’t worry about whether she will stay home or work–or both. She likely has the means to hire a nanny to watch her baby either on set or in her home, while she returns to either the stage or the big screen.

Congratulations to both Keira Knightley and James Righton on their very exciting news.

  • Keira Knightley Makes Singing Debut In New Film

Keira Knightley has revealed how intimidated she was to step into a recording studio in the upcoming film Begin Again for her role as an aspiring singer/songwriter.

“When I signed up for the film it was really the script that drew me and I didn’t think too much about the singing aspect for some odd reason,” said Knightley. “Then when I was confronted with having to do the actual singing I started to become very anxious. Suddenly I found myself in a recording studio with professional music people and I realised I didn’t know what I was doing! It was terrifying!”

The John Carney-directed piece stars Knightley as Gretta, the mentee of a struggling music producer played by Mark Ruffalo. Gretta blithely embarks on a mission to conquer NYC with folk music (oh, jeez) and gets her heart broken along the way by Adam Levine, the guy from Maroon 5.

“This film was a challenge for him, too, because film is not the world he’s used to. But he’s a natural entertainer and every fibre of his being is dedicated to performing” said Knightley of Levine’s acting, which is likely the kindest thing anyone has said about his talent, ever. Classy lady, that Knightley.

Knightley is married to a musician (James Righton of The Klaxons) and he evidently did his best to teach her the ways of the music world — without too much luck. “He tried to teach me how to play the guitar and I tried not to kill him – so that was about it. And then he stopped trying to teach me the guitar because I’m not very good at it,” said Knightley. “I’m definitely not a singer but I think I’m good enough to fake it!” I am hoping so, because this movie is what’s called a “feel good” film, and god help me I can’t stay away from those.

“I felt that I had done enough very dramatic kinds of roles over the last five years and that I was tired of playing dark and tormented women,” said Knightley of her decision to do a film with a lighthearted tone. “It begins to wear you down and I decided that I want to do more upbeat kinds of movies where I can play characters who are maybe a little closer in spirit to who I am and how I’m feeling at this point in my life.”

And thanks to Knightley’s decision to abandon her “serious roles only for me, please” roots, we get a film with a Mark Ruffalo shower scene and probably several folk-pop tunes that you will never admit to liking. Ah, Hollywood.

  • Keira Knightley Talks Year-Old Marriage and ‘Begin Again’

Keira Knightley graces the July 2014 cover of Glamour magazine and within its pages she dishes on her year-old marriage to James Righton as well as about her upcoming film in which she stars with Mark Ruffalo and The Voice’s Adam LevineBegin Again.

“When James proposed, I just thought, ‘Well, never done that before.’ It seemed like a fun thing to do,” Knightley said.

The Anna Karenina actress will soon appear once again on the big screen in Begin Again in which she plays the role of Gretta opposite Adam Levine in the role of Dave Kohl, Gretta’s ‘no-good ex-boyfriend.’ Knightley says the Maroon 5 frontman did a great job portraying his ‘less-than-sweet’ character.

“He did play a d***khead very well. Actually, I admire him being so willing,” Keira said. “To play a d***khead is quite a big thing when you are trying to break into film and you want to be likable.”

The romantic comedy is a far cry from the typical films in which Keira Knightley stars. In addition to Anna Karenina she starred iPride and Prejudicen as well as in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.

“[W]ith a feel-good film you are always risking going way too cheesy….But maybe I can have a little holiday where I’m not playing a character who is being destroyed,” she said.

It will be fun to see Keira Knightley in a film like Begin Again, and it will be almost as much fun to see Adam Levine play a d**k–well, you know. It’s hard to believe the jovial jokester on The Voice has it in him. Fans won’t have to wait too long to find out, however, or to see Keira Knightley in a romantic comedy. Begin Again hits theaters on June 27th.

  • Keira Knightley Gives Herself a $50,000 Salary

Keira Knightley recently admitted to Glamour that she allows herself an approximate annual salary of just $50,000.

“I think living an [expensive] lifestyle means you can’t hang out with people who don’t live that lifestyle. It alienates you,” Knightley explained. “Some of my best, most hilarious times have been in the least luxurious places.”

That said, Knightley added that “if I want or need something that goes over that, I get it.”

Knightley is known for flaunting Hollywood’s stereotypes about how a successful actress should dress. Her fashion choices are often low-key and eclectic and she frequently makes headlines for wearing the same outfit two or three times.

In April Knightley drew negative attention when she wore a cropped-top Chanel dress that showed off her tiny waist to the Tribeca Film Festival to premiere her most recent movie Begin Again.

The dress was called “terrifying” and “absolutely bizarre” but Knightley laughed it off:

“When we were getting ready that evening, we were all going, ‘They’re soooo going to hate me in this, but they’re so wrong.’ Apparently the reason they were so mean was because they thought the dress was unsexy. I wasn’t intending to be sexy. This idea you have to be sexy on the red carpet – that dress made me very happy.”

Back in 2010 Joe Wright, who directed Knightley in Atonement and Pride and Prejudice said of the actress:

“One of the things I love most about Keira is that she’ll play the game to a certain point and play it no further. She doesn’t pander to the press in the way I’m sure they’d like. So sometimes they’re even meaner to her than others.”

Knightley isn’t afraid to speak her true thoughts on marriage, either.

The 29-year-old actress, who married Klaxons vocalist and keyboardist James Righton in May 2013, told Glamour’s Christa D’Souza that she’s never been a fan of marriage:

“Actually my parents kept saying, ‘Why bother?’ I think they only [got married] to get a mortgage. But when James proposed, I just thought, Well, never done that before. It seemed like a fun thing to do.”

When asked about her upcoming first wedding anniversary at the Tribeca Film Festival, Knightley appeared to have forgotten all about it: “Oh yeah, is it?!” she stammered. “Oh, thanks, yeah good, wow!”

And don’t expect Knightley to follow in Jessica Biel’s or Jennifer Garner’s footsteps by taking Righton’s last name for legal or personal purposes. She thought about it but just “couldn’t do it. I couldn’t go there. Yet.”

  • Keira Knightley Forgets First Wedding Anniversary

    Oops!

While at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York promoting her new film, Begin Again, 29-year old actress Keira Knightley seemed genuinely startled when E! News asked her about her upcoming first anniversary with musician James Righton.

“Oh yeah, is it?!” she stammered. “Oh, thanks, yeah good, wow!”

The couple, introduced by model Alexa Chung, were married on May 4 of last year in Mazan, Vaucluse, South of France and currently reside in the London Borough of Islington.

When asked how their first year of marriage has gone, Knightley replied, “Well, we’re still together so it must’ve been all right!”

In Begin Again, Knightley plays Gretta, whose heart is broken by her long-time boyfriend Dave (played by Adam Levine) after his new-found musical fame causes him to stray, sending Gretta off on her own. During this time Dan, a former record-label executive (played by Mark Ruffalo), discovers Gretta performing on an East Village stage and the transformation begins.

When asked if her rocker husband helped teach her play guitar for the film, Knightley said, “He tried to teach me how to play the guitar and I tried not to kill him – so that was about it. And he stopped trying to teach me the guitar ‘cause I’m not very good at it.”

On the red carpet, Knightley once again showed off her tiny figure in a waist-cinching Chanel dress.

In 2006, after her first appearance in Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, the British star denied rumors that she is anorexic, although her family has a history of anorexia.

“They asked, ‘How does it feel to be always called anorexic?’ I had no idea that I was. I can safely say that I’m not,” Knightley said in a news conference. “I’ve got a lot of experience with anorexia. It was in my family. My grandmother, and my great-grandmother suffered from it and I had a lot of friends at school who suffer from it so I don’t think it’s anything to be taken lightly.”

Although Knightley never thought of herself as the marrying type, she says that she enjoys the consistency of marriage.

“These words that you think beforehand, ‘That’s the reason I’ll never do it … ,’ those words that you see as completely negative, and you suddenly see them as being incredibly positive, and that’s actually quite liberating and quite nice.”

  • Keira Knightley Talks About Her Extreme Schedule

Keira Knightley Talks About Her Extreme Schedule

The life of a Hollywood A-List actress is not all wine and roses. It’s all about time and money on a film set, so hours are long and arduous. In a recent interview with contactmusic.com, Keira Knightley said that she doesn’t have any sort of a personal life while she works on a film and finds it difficult to spend time with friends.

Knightley spoke about her extreme schedule, “When I’m not working it’s really about seeing as many friends as possible and making sure I’m there in their lives. The way I work is extreme. You can’t really have a personal life if you’re working on films all the time. There’s Skype, but, really, there’s just no way of doing it.” She added, “The hours are so long, you’re always in a different country, you’re always doing a different thing.”

The 29-year-old actress makes maintaining friendships a priority when she’s not working, “It becomes very important to block out some time when I don’t work and that’s how I retain friendships, otherwise people just float. You kind of become somebody who is rudderless.”

In addition to her film work, Knightley is still considered a newlywed. She married James Righton, a vocalist and keyboard player for the London-based indie rock band The Klaxons, last May. The wedding was a small private ceremony with just eleven guests that took place on a hilltop in southern France.

The busy actress is currently looking into playing a role in the adaptation for the Michael Knight book The Typist, which is a work of historical fiction that chronicles the politics of the Pacific Theater circa WWII. Knightley said of the adaptation, “The lovely people at Fox (Studios) are kindly trying to develop for me. My agents found it and gave it to me to read. It has two really good female roles in it, so we shall see.”

  • Keira Knightley is the Ultimate Recycler

Keira Knightley is the Ultimate Recycler

Keira Knightley sets a fine example for recyclers everywhere. In fact, she wore a recycled wedding gown when she wed her musician beau James Righton back in 2013. Knightley donned a recycled pale pink Chanel wedding gown for her big day.

The actress and model first wore the gown back in 2009 at a pre-BAFTA party. She was spotted wearing it this past December, too, at a charity gala.

So why a pre-worn gown on her wedding day? Surely Keira Knightley could have bought any wedding gown she wanted. Designers would have clamored to create the perfect gown for her rail thin frame.

“It was something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue. I had something old, which was the dress. But it’s a dress that I’ve always had a brilliant time in,” Knightley said.

“Every time I’ve worn it they’ve been brilliant nights. I wanted to be able to dance the night away and you can definitely dance in that dress,” she added.

Keira Knightley went on to explain that her recycled wedding gown wasn’t the only quirky part of her wedding day. In fact, she had a mishmash of sources who contributed to her wedding ensemble.

“The shoes and jacket were very beautifully designed by Karl Lagerfeld and made especially for me, so they were very new! I had my friend’s ring for something blue and another friend’s necklace for something borrowed,” she said.

It’s becoming rather popular for celebrities to recycle their expensive dresses. Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, is also known for re-wearing key pieces from her wardrobe. This was something that struck the royals a bit strangely about the young duchess shortly after she wed Prince William.

Certainly this type of recycling isn’t about the money. If one can afford a Chanel gown to begin with, cash is surely not an issue.

What’s your take on Keira Knightley recycling her wedding gown?

  • Keira Knightley Spotted Twice in Baggy Overalls

Keira Knightley is known for her low-key, eclectic fashion choices.

She lived up to her reputation a few days ago when she hit the shops in London on two different occasions wearing baggy denim overalls.

Or, as they’re called in the UK, dungarees.

Knightley’s apparent shopping uniform of choice was similar both days: she wore the baggy overalls over sweaters, topped with warm coats, and completed the look with a pair of clunky brown combat boots. On both occasions she appeared to be wearing little to no make-up and was sporting dark-framed glasses.

And in another nod to low-key styling, there was no designer bag in sight. Knightley carried only cotton totes on her shopping expeditions, despite the fact that she surely has ample access to high end bags given her star power and her gig as the face of Chanel’s Coco Mademoiselle fragrance.

The overall-wearing Knightley was accompanied on one of her London shopping excursions by husband, James Righton.

Knightley married Righton, co-vocalist and keyboardist for the London-based band Klaxons, in May. The wedding, held in the South of France, was typical low-key Knightley style. So low-key, in fact, that Knightley chose a dress she’d previously worn as her wedding dress.

She created a stir when she wore the dress a third time at a December 3 London gala supporting the Serious Fun Children’s Network.

More than six months later, the Internet is still talking about Knightley’s wedding dress choice:
