  • Willow Smith, Daughter of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, Has Been Named the New Face of Chanel

Willow Smith — the daughter of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith — has been named as the new face of fashion label Chanel.

The news came during Chanel’s Fall/Winter 2016 show in Paris on Tuesday.

“The young singer, songwriter, actress and trendsetter has been wearing CHANEL for public appearances since 2013 and her first encounter with Karl Lagerfeld was in 2014 when he photographed her for the American magazine V. She was notably present at the CHANEL Fall-Winter 2016/17 Ready-to-Wear show presented this morning at the Grand Palais,” said the fashion house in a statement.

Willow, 15, also shared the big news via her Instagram account.

“I feel like there is so much creativity going on that I want to inject some of my ideas and some of my energy into the brand,” Smith told Teen Vogue backstage at the fashion show. “Because I feel like there’s a lot of things that come from youth nowadays that need to be expressed and amplified to the world.”

Willow’s brother, Jaden Smith, is another couture model in the family.

In a surprise twist, Jaden actually modeled womenswear for Louis Vuitton’s “Series 4” spring-summer 2016 collection advertising campaign.

Nicolas Ghesquière, creative director of the house of Louis Vuitton, said the label wanted Jaden to model for that particular campaign because he “represents a generation that has assimilated the codes of true freedom, one that is free of manifestos and questions about gender…Wearing a skirt comes as naturally to him as it would to a woman who, long ago, granted herself permission to wear a man’s trench or a tuxedo.”

  • Will Smith: Were He And Jada Offended by Chris Rock’s Oscars Jokes?

Will Smith and Jada Smith famously boycotted this year’s Oscars and in return they got burned by one of their good friends, and the host of Oscars 2016, Chris Rock.

Well, it seems like Chris Rock took advantage of Jada and Will Smith not attending (not being their to defend themselves). Someone had to be the joke that lightened up the #OscarsSoWhite controversy.

And lighten up the mood, it did.

Chris Rock said of Jada Pinkett Smith, “What happened this year? People went nuts. Spike [Lee] got mad. Jada went mad. Will went mad. Everyone went mad!”

He added, “Jada said she’s not coming. I was like, ‘Isn’t she on a TV show?’ Jada’s gonna boycott the Oscars? Jada boycotting the Oscars is like me boycotting Rihanna’s panties. I wasn’t invited!”

Ok that was a good one. Even better than Will Smith’s joke, because, well, it wasn’t really a great burn.

    Guess where

A photo posted by Will Smith (@willsmithphotos) on

He said of Will Smith, “Her man Will was not nominated for Concussion. I get it. You get mad. It’s not fair that Will was this good and didn’t get nominated. You’re right. It’s also not fair that Will was paid $20 million for Wild Wild West!”

    See, not a burn.

So, do you think Jada and Will Smith held the public humiliation against their friend? My guess is probably not.

The three of them have been friends for a very long time. Also, If anyone can take one for the team, it’s that couple. Will Smith and his wife of almost two decades always seem like they couldn’t care less what others think or say about them.

    #jada

A photo posted by Will Smith (@willsmithphotos) on

Also, it’s clear that neither one of them are hurting. Both of them are working hard and show no signs of slowing down.

In fact, Will Smith was just confirmed for yet another major part in a another film directed by David Ayer called Bright. David Ayer also directed Will Smith in Suicide Squad recently.

Bright, which will also star Joel Edgerton, is rumored to be “a contemporary cop thriller, but with fantastical elements.”

Will Smith is also currently filming Collateral Beauty with the great Kate Winslet.

Will Smith is just not hurting right now. At all.

Do you think Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith are mad at Chris Rock?

  • Jada Pinkett Smith Finds An Ally In Tyrese For Chris Rock’s Oscars Dig

Chris Rock’s speech sparked controversy after he took a jab at Jada Pinkett Smith and her move to not attend this year’s Oscars.

Not everyone was impressed with Rock’s joke at the event. Fast and Furious actor Tyrese Gibson spoke out about Rock’s mocking speech about Jada, who called for a boycott of the Academy on social media last month to protest the lack of black nominees.

Jada Pinkett Smith and her husband, rapper-actor Will Smith, who recently starred in Concussion, were among the many black Hollywood celebrities who did not attend this year’s Oscars for its apparent lack of racial diversity.

Gibson took to Instagram to defend Jada Pinkett Smith against Rock’s explosive joke, which he found “tasteless.”

“Someone posted the tasteless joke that Chris Rock did in his opening,” Gibson wrote. “Did you really use your STAGE to tear down and diminish one of the strongest most fearless black women IN this town as the world watched???”

“Jokes are just jokes right???? Not when someone is trying to affect change……… Not when someone is willing to put it ALL on the line to affect change for our daughters and sons of the future…….. Shame on you Chris Rock.”

On the other hand, Will Smith has not yet commented on Rock’s comical speech. “Jada got mad, Jada says she’s not coming, protesting, I’m like — doesn’t she have a TV show? Jada boycotting the Oscars is like me boycotting Rihanna’s panties. I wasn’t invited,” Rock quipped.

Maybe the power couple was not really bothered by the host’s monologue at all. Will and Jada Pinkett Smith have been friends with the comedian for many years now. Rock and Will have known each other for over 20 years, while he and Jada have worked on three Madagascar movies together. Perhaps it was just Rock’s way of reminding the audience of the #OscarSoWhite issue.

  • Kate Winslet Not Boycotting Oscars, Plans to Support Leonardo DiCaprio

Kate Winslet is just one of many actors who won’t boycott the upcoming Oscars. Instead she plans to attend, in support of all the women who were nominated, as well as her Titanic co-star Leonardo DiCaprio.

“To be honest with you, it has been such an extraordinary year for women, I’d feel like I was letting my side down if I didn’t go,” she said in a recent interview with the BBC. “And also I feel very strongly that it may possibly be Leo’s year. And he is my closest friend in the world, and I just couldn’t imagine not being there to support him.”

Kate Winslet is an Oscar nominee, too. She was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Steve Jobs.

Winslet won a Golden Globe for her role in Steve Jobs. She was shocked by the win, saying she was concentrating on Leonardo DiCaprio instead of herself.

“I was shocked!” she said. “To be honest with you, [it was] because I’ve been so focused on Leo and him winning everything and being so excited for him.”

The first person Leonardo DiCaprio hugged when he won his SAG Award was Kate Winslet.

The Oscars could be a big night for DiCaprio. Nominated for his role in The Revenant, he is favored to win.

Jada Pinkett Smith called for an Oscars boycott after nominations were announced and–for the second year in a row–all the nominees were white.

Are you surprised to learn Kate Winslet isn’t boycotting this year’s Oscars? Do you expect that might be the case with many actors as well?

  • Stacey Dash Called “Media Ho” by Former “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” Star

Stacey Dash was dissed recently by former Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star Janet Hubert. In fact, Hubert called Stacey Dash a “media ho.”

It wasn’t long in arriving. The slam from Janet Hubert follows some controversial comments Dash recently made regarding inequality at the Oscars. She slammed the Oscars boycott recently during an episode of Fox & Friends.

“I think it’s ludicrous,” Stacey Dash said with regard to the response of people like Jada Pinkett Smith and others to the Oscar nominations. “We have to make up our minds. Either we want to have segregation or integration. If we don’t want segregation, then we need to get rid of channels like BET and the BET Awards and the [NAACP] Image Awards, where you’re only awarded it you’re black.”

“If it were the other way around, we would be up in arms, it’s a double standard,” she added before saying “there shouldn’t be a black history month. We’re Americans. Period.”

Janet Hubert says Stacey Dash “has worked on BET more than most actresses have.”

She is a bit suspicious of Dash’s intentions, too.

“I think she’s just saying this kind of bull because she wants sensationalism and she’s working for Fox and she needs a job and she’s making a check,” Hubert said.

Stacey Dash tried to cover her tracks by “clarifying” her initial comments–the ones that have Janet Hubert up in arms.

On her blog, she suggested black people need to “quit settling for scraps.”

“It’s hard to cut through the hysterical reactions to my comments the other day about Black History Month,” Stacey Dash wrote. “I feel like many of your reactions–saying that I’ve sold out to white people, that I’m ‘coonin” etc–show you aren’t hearing me.”

“Black History should be apart of social studies and history curriculum EVERYDAY OF EVERY MONTH OF EVERY YEAR. not just 28 days out of 365!!!” she added. “In a hundred years, do you really want the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr, Frederick Douglass, and even Barack Obama to be discussed only in the month of February?”

What’s your take on Stacey Dash? Is she, in fact, a “media ho” as Janet Hubert so eloquently suggested? Or is she simply someone who spoke too soon and is prone to being misunderstood?

  • Alexis Arquette Gets ‘Reckless,’ Outs Will And Jada Pinkett-Smith As Gay

Alexis Arquette Gets ‘Reckless,’ Outs Will And Jada Pinkett-Smith As Gay

Alexis Arquette is under fire for claiming that A-list couple Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith are gay.

Following the Smiths’ recent call to boycott the Oscars because of the “lack of diversity” in its list of nominees in the last couple of years, celebrities left and right have been weighing in on the issue. While some have expressed their agreement and support, others have not been very keen about the boycott.

The 46-year-old trans sister of Hollywood actors David, Patricia, and Rosanna Arquette stirred controversy even further by posting a brief rant on his Facebook page last week. The post – which has since been deleted – alleged that Will and Jada Smith are gay and in the closet and that the only way he was going to listen to their protest was if they come clean about their sexuality.

In the post, Alexis Arquette also accused Will Smith of having sexual relations with music producer Benny Medina and that his first marriage broke down because Smith’s then-wife walked in on them engaged in a sexual act.

“When Jada comes out as Gay and her beard husband admits his first marriage ended when she walked in to him **** servicing his Sugar Daddy Benny Medina ..then I will listen to them,” Arquette said on the post.

The couple have yet to comment about Alexis Arquette’s controversial allegations, but Will’s first wife, Sheree Fletcher, has taken to social media to set the record straight.

In the four-minute video that Fletcher posted in Thursday, she directly addressed Alexis Arquette by denying that infidelity caused their breakdown of their three-year marriage.

She also called him out on making “malicious” and “reckless” claims that could potentially affect the families involved.

“Alexis Arquette, let’s just be clear: I don’t know you and you don’t know me,” said Fletcher at the beginning of the video. “For you to claim you have firsthand knowledge information as to why my marriage didn’t work out is completely out of line.”

https://www.facebook.com/sheree.fletcher2/videos/959806840735956/?theater Posted by Sheree Fletcher on Thursday, January 21, 2016
Alexis Arquette also alleged that Fletcher was paid by Will Smith to keep mum about his supposed homosexuality. “I know Will has a lot of money, but Will does not have enough money to take my voice away from me - to deprive me of my story. That wouldn’t happen,” Fletcher added.

  • Alexis Arquette Slams Will Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith’s Oscars Boycott

Alexis Arquette Slams Will Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith’s Oscars Boycott

Alexis Arquette recently spoke out via social media, slamming both Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith for their call to boycott the Oscars.

In a Facebook post that has since been deleted, Arquette called Will and Jada “gay,” and said Will Smith paid off his first wife to remain mum after she allegedly walked in on him having sex with a man.

Is it any wonder the post has been taken down? Will Smith’s ex, Sheree Fletcher, denies the allegations.

Alexis Arquette is a transgender woman who transitioned from a man in the early 2000s. Born Robert Arquette, Alexis Arquette is related to all the famous Arquettes, including David Arquette (Courteney Cox’s ex-husband), Rosanna Arquette, and Patricia Arquette, who stars in CSI: Cyber. Patricia Arquette voiced her support for Bruce Jenner when he came out as transgender, in part because of watching what Alexis underwent both before and during her transition.

Not unlike her famous family, Alexis Arquette is an actress who has played roles in The Wedding Singer, Xena: Princess Warrior, and Last Exit to Brooklyn. Her transition was the subject of a documentary called Alexis Arquette: She’s My Brother. She also starred in the final season of VH1’s The Surreal Life, which ended in 2006.

So far neither Will Smith nor Jada Pinkett Smith has responded to the slam Alexis Arquette posted on Facebook about their call to boycott the Academy Awards.

It’s likely they never saw the post, but they surely know about it. Even though the post was deleted, social media is buzzing about Arquette’s allegations.

  • Jada Pinkett Smith Responds to Janet Hubert’s (“Fresh Prince’s” Aunt Viv) Oscars Boycott Slam

Jada Pinkett Smith called for a boycott of the upcoming Oscars because of the lack of diversity among the 2016 nominees.

Not long after she made her boycott wishes known, Jada Pinkett Smith came under fire from Janet Hubert–Aunt Viv on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Smith’s husband Will Smith starred on the sitcom.

Hubert shared a video earlier this week calling out Jada Pinkett Smith, calling her call to boycott hypocritical.

“I find it ironic that somebody who has made their living and made millions and millions of dollars from the very people that you’re talking about boycotting just because you didn’t get a nomination, just because you didn’t win?” Hubert said in the video. “That is not the way life works, baby.”

Jada Pinkett Smith responded to Hubert’s video in her own video clip posted by Entertainment Tonight.

“This whole Oscar controversy isn’t really about the Oscars,” she says in the clip. “Really, in my plea to ask all communities and people of color to take back our power is so that we can use it in all sectors of our community, and right now, specifically with African-American people, we have some very serious issues that I think we as a people have to move together on. I’m hoping we can find ways to step together in this instead of finding ways to fight each other. I got love for everybody.”

Janet Hubert had more to say, and she did just that in an interview with The Los Angeles Times.

“I’m a real freedom fighter,” she told the publication. “I’m not a pretend freedom fighter. I stand up for other actresses, other people. The Smiths just irked me because they are such pretenders, and everything is a photo op. It’s just self-contrived because her hubby didn’t get a nomination.”

Which of these women might you choose to support? Do you believe Jada Pinkett Smith is calling for an Oscars boycott for the right reasons, or do you tend to think Janet Hubert hit the nail on its proverbial head instead?

  • Lupita Nyong’o Disappointed in “Lack of Inclusion” at Oscars

Lupita Nyong’o spoke out via social media, voicing her disappointment in the lack of diversity in the 2016 Academy Award nominations. This is the second year straight without nominees for people of color.

Taking to Instagram, the 12 Years A Slave Oscar winner shared her feelings on the controversial topic.

“Not everything that is faced can be changed. But nothing can be changed until it is faced.” James Baldwin #manystoriesmanyvoices,” Lupita Nyong’o captioned her post.

A photo posted by Lupita Nyong'o (@lupitanyongo) on

Lupita Nyong’o’s post follows Jada Pinkett Smith’s call to boycott this year’s Oscars and Spike Lee’s criticism of the lack of diversity and inclusion.

Lupita Nyong’o doesn’t mention the boycott or her intentions with regard to it.

What’s your take on the lack of diversity in this year’s Academy Award nominations? Do you believe it is a slight on behalf of the academy or were there simply no people of color in the films they deemed best?

The argument isn’t solely waged by people of color. In addition to Lupita Nyong’o, Spike Lee, and Jada Pinkett Smith, actor George Clooney believes Hollywood as a whole is responsible for not creating enough roles for Blacks and Latinos.

  • Stacy Dash Says Oscar Boycott Is ‘Ludicrous’ And Black History Month Should Be a Thing of the Past

Stacy Dash of Fox News says she was shocked when she learned that there were no actors or actresses of color nominated for an Oscar this year, but says a boycott proposed by celebrities like Jada Pinkett Smith is not the way to go.

On Wednesday, the 49-year-old Clueless actor made her opinion known in an interview with Steve Doocy on Fox & Friends.

“I think it’s ludicrous,” she said. “Because we have to make up our minds. Either we want segregation or integration.”

Dash said she is happy the lack of diversity is a topic of conversation, but believes that things won’t change until the “double standard” currently in place is eliminated.

“If we don’t want segregation, then we need to get rid of channels like BET, and the BET Awards and the Image Awards, where you’re only awarded if you’re black,” she explained. “If it were the other way around, we would be up in arms. It’s a double standard.”

Dash made the point that there is no White History Month, so why should there be a Black History Month?

“What I find astounding is that we’ve had a president who is black in office for the past eight years, who gets most of his funding from the liberal elite in Hollywood,” she added, referring to President Barack Obama. “Yet, there are not very many roles for people of color. How can that be? And why is it just now being addressed?”

Dash agreed that Jada Pinkett Smith might have cause to be upset considering her husband, Will Smith, wasn’t nominated for his role in Concussion.

“He did a great job in the movie, but at the same time, what does that say about how people are selected for these awards?” Doocy asked Dash.

“Right. That’s assuming they’re selected by race, which I think would be a disservice to the people who are looking at the films and making the choices,” she said. “Maybe [the Academy] need[s] to be more, you know, integrated, and there needs to be more diverse people in the process of electing.”

Doocy claimed that, although the Academy demographics are kept secret, they are “predominately white males.”

“I hope they’re looking for the best movies and the best actors,” Dash noted. “The good news is, there’s attention brought to it now. But, like I said, over the past eight years, we’ve had a president who’s black, who gets his funding mainly from Hollywood. ‘The elite liberals.’ So, it’s odd to me that this has now become such an issue.”

  • Tracee Ellis Ross Pokes Fun At All-White Nominees For 2016 Oscars

Black-ish actors Tracee Ellis Ross and Anthony Anderson poked fun at the Oscars after the award-giving failed to include a single black actor in the list of nominees.

Ross attended the Critics’ Choice Awards on Sunday evening, and while doing her task as the night’s presenter, she addressed the #OscarsSoWhite issue in a clever way.

In an attempt to encourage the nominees, Anderson pointed out that most actors who win a Critics’ Choice Award are likely to win Oscars. Tracee Ellis Ross then remarked, “Yes that’s true, so if you’re nominated tonight, give yourself a round of applause. You could go on to win an Oscar.”

Taking a jab at the Oscars all-white nominees, Anderson joked that only half of Ross could attend the awards night.

Realizing that the audience did not get what they were saying, Ross explained that she is mixed, “Yes, you didn’t get that. I’m mixed.”

#OscarsSoWhite became a trending topic in Hollywood recently as a reaction to the Academy’s infamous lack of diversity. Other artists have also given their two cents on the issue. Jada Pinkett-Smith called on to people of color to boycott the Oscars, saying they should “refrain from participating altogether.”

Gina Rodriguez lamented that the Academy’s board is “not as diverse as reflected in today’s society.”

Ross reportedly stated that she “wasn’t planning on going anyway” but also made it clear that the ceremony does not apply to her, as she was not in any film this year.

However, not all black actresses agree with Tracee Ellis Ross. Niecy Nash believes that snubbing the 88th Academy Awards is not a smart solution and that everyone should just focus on moving forward. “We have this awareness and this spotlight – we’ve got to look at other work. There’s other work out there that I think was missed. We’ve just got to do better,” Nash commented.

  • Jada Pinkett Smith Is Boycotting the Oscars

Jada Pinkett Smith agrees with many who are outraged over the Oscars’ lack of diversity, and she has decided to boycott the awards show.

If you’ve been on Twitter since this year’s Oscar nominees were announced, you may have seen the hashtag #OscarsSoWhite trending off and on. The backlash to this year’s list of nominees has been strong.

All 20 acting nominations – Leading Actor, Leading Actress, Supporting Actor, and Supporting Actress – were given to white performers.

“At the Oscars…people of color are always welcomed to give out awards…even entertain,” Pinkett Smith tweeted over the weekend. “But we are rarely recognized for our artistic accomplishments. Should people of color refrain from participating all together? People can only treat us in the way in which we allow. With much respect in the midst of deep disappointment.”

In a video posted to her Facebook page, Smith elaborated on her feelings about the Oscars. She announced that she would not attend, not will she watch the ceremony.

We must stand in our power!

We must stand in our power.

  • Salma Hayek Gives Powerful Speech on Gender Equality

Salma Hayek Gives Powerful Speech on Gender Equality

Salma Hayek isn’t just a big name on the big screen. The actress is a big name in the fight for gender equality, too. On Friday Hayek addressed Variety’s Power of Women luncheon in Los Angeles, calling those who don’t pay men and women equally criminals.

“This is a problem that is in every single industry,” Salma Hayek told the press on the red carpet at the luncheon. “If you have the same capacities and you are doing the same job, it is criminal not to pay the same salary.”

Honored for her work with the Chime for Change women’s empowerment project, Hayek shared some astounding statistics. Jada Pinkett Smith introduced Salma Hayek to a cheering crowd.

“We are a fantastic generation. We are the generation who said, ‘Oh no, we’re not going away at 30. This is gonna change. I’m not going to work there anymore? OK, I’m going to start my own industry,'” Hayek said.

“We are 66 percent of the work power of the world. However, we only get 10 percent of the income of the world. This is really, really sad and tragic,” she added.

Following more than 20 years as a gender equality advocate, Salma Hayek just now believes change is about to take place.

“We have been complaining about the situation of women in this industry for years,” she said. “I remember many people in Oscar speeches [mentioned] it, but just this year, with the very eloquent speech of Patricia Arquette, finally they heard it! They actually ask you about it! We are talking about it, we are looking for solutions. We are the generation that is going to experience the difference, the transformation.”

“I think the reason is not because they’re very nice and they heard us, but because they cannot not hear us because we are such an economical power, women in the country. We represent such a strong part of the audience that they cannot ignore us anymore,” she said.

Explaining how women in both the film industry as well as in everyday situations have been forced into roles set by men, Salma Hayek said there is much confusion about gender equality.

“It’s confusing because we’ve been neglected for so long that we really don’t know what women want to see,” she said. “We don’t even recognize our voice anymore because our voices we’ve had to adjust to a system that was created by men so that they could survive. So that things could get made. It’s a really inspiring time, because it’s time for us to take this responsibility and try to find out who we really are.”

She added that the stereotypical Hollywood roles for women in rom-coms and chick flicks is coming to an end.

“We’re not the women [who] just wanna see the movie about how our prince is going to come and rescue us anymore. These romantic comedies are not working anymore, why? We changed! But nobody took the time to change with us in the industry,” she said. “So it’s a really exciting time to redefine who we are. This is the true heart of equality–not only when we can make as much, but we can speak as loud and we can really have the freedom to be ourselves instead of trying to survive or fit in,” she said.

Salma Hayek is a successor in a long line of people who have spoken out against gender inequality. Shonda Rhimes, Reese Witherspoon, Emma Watson, Oprah Winfrey, Matt McGorry, Gwyneth Paltrow, Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Garner, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Geena Davis, and Meryl Streep are huge advocates, too.

Do you believe the end of gender inequality is truly imminent? Kudos to people like Salma Hayek and her predecessors for their tireless work in not just raising awareness but in advocating change.

  • Jada Pinkett Smith & Will Smith Address Divorce Rumor On Social Media

Another day, another round of divorce rumors for Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith.

The Hollywood power couple is notoriously prone to divorce rumors, something that Pinkett Smith acknowledged in an interview she gave in American Way Magazine. The actress admitted that they encounter a new divorce rumor every year.

The latest round of rumors insist that the Jada Pinkett Smith and her husband are finally pulling the plug on their marriage, According to Radar Online, the couple are “exhausted from trying to maintain the façade of a happy union” and have allegedly hammered out an agreement that would both “protect their $240 million fortune” and their kids.

But for once, Will Smith felt compelled to address the divorce rumors and took to social media to say his piece. On his Facebook page, the Suicide Squad actor admitted that he doesn’t “usually respond to foolishness” because it’s contagious. But it seems the endless questions and people extending their “deepest condolences” to the alleged end of his marriage were too much. “So, in the interest of redundant, repetitious, over & over-again-ness… Jada and I are…NOT GETTING A DIVORCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!” wrote the actor.

Under normal circumstances, I don't usually respond to foolishness. (Because it's contagious) But, so many people have... Posted by Will Smith on Monday, August 3, 2015
Smith then went on and promised everyone that “if I ever decide to divorce my Queen - I SWEAR I'll tell you myself!” Pinkett Smith seconded the sentiment with a simple tweet – “My king has spoken.” The Gotham actress, who shares two children with Smith, has talked about her marriage before and acknowledged that “marriages go through shifts, and relationships go through shifts because in life things shift.” The 43-year-old Magic Mike XXL star says that people just automatically assume they’ll be divorcing whenever there’s a rough patch. But for Pinkett Smith, the scrutiny she experiences every day regarding the state of her marriage is nothing compared to what other women and families go through, and for that she’s grateful. "There are mothers out there losing their sons, their husbands, their daughters. I'm blessed,” Pinkett Smith explains. “So scrutinize me. I'll take that any day over what the majority of my people are dealing with on a daily basis.”

  • Jada Smith Not Divorcing Will Smith, Actually Welcomes Constant Speculation

Jada Smith and her famous hubby, Will Smith, have to deal with divorce rumors on a near constant basis.

Jada Smith met Will on the set of his long-running series, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, when she auditioned for a role as his love interest.

She didn’t get the part, but she stole Will’s heart.

Jada Pinkett became Jada Smith shortly after, in 1997.

Since then, Will and Jada Smith have had to deal with rumors about their marriage.

Just yesterday, rumors were swirling of a divorce by the end of summer.

The rumors don’t bother Jada Smith, though. To her, things could be a lot worse.

Jada Smith told American Way magazine, “Every year there’s a new one. And I’m like, ‘Here we go. Get ready. Are ya holdin’ on tight?'”

Of course, Jada Smith isn’t saying that her marriage is perfect.

She said, “Marriages go through shifts. And relationships go through shifts because in life, things shift. So people are automatically like, ‘What’s going on? They must be getting a divorce.’ Well, no. But when people feel those shifts and there’s a mystery, they have to fill it with something.”

So true. As long as these two are married, it’s likely there will be new rumors all the time.

But, to Jada Smith, it’s way better than what others have to deal with on a daily basis. Rumors are nothing compared to real-life problems.

She said, “If you really want to know,I’m thankful for the Hollywood scrutiny, that that’s my problem. There are mothers out there losing their sons, their husbands, their daughters.”

She added, “I’m blessed. So scrutinize me. I’ll take that any day over what the majority of my people are dealing with on a daily basis. I dare not complain. Hollywood scrutiny has nothing on what I’ve survived just to be here.”

That’s a great way to look at it!

What do you think of Jada Smith’s attitude toward the constant divorce rumors?

  • Jada Pinkett Smith Talks Will Smith Divorce Rumors

Jada Pinkett Smith spoke recently about the latest round of divorce rumors plaguing her and hubby Will Smith. During an interview with American Way magazine, the Magic Mike XXL actress and mom of Willow and Jaden Smith shared that these divorce rumors are nothing new. In fact the latest insists their divorce is final.

“Every year there’s a new one,” she said. “And I’m like, ‘Here we go. Get ready. Are ya holdin’ on tight?'”

Jada Pinkett Smith dished about her growing up years, which included poverty and having two guns pointed in her face. It’s not likely that divorce rumors bother her much at all.

“If you really want to know,” she told the magazine. “I’m thankful for the Hollywood scrutiny, that that’s my problem.”

She added that her problems compared to those of others right now are pretty manageable.

“There are mothers out there losing their sons, their husbands, their daughters,” Jada Pinkett Smith said. “I’m blessed. So scrutinize me. I’ll take that any day over what the majority of my people are dealing with on a daily basis. I dare not complain. Hollywood scrutiny has nothing on what I’ve survived just to be here.”

What a remarkable attitude Jada Pinkett Smith has on something that would drive other Hollywood celebrities crazy. She clearly is a strong woman with a lot of faith in her husband. In fact, she dished about Will Smith during a recent interview with Howard Stern.

“Here’s what I trust: The man that Will is… is a man of integrity. He’s got all the freedom in the world,” she told Stern on his SiriusXM radio show in June. “As long as Will can look himself the mirror and be okay? I’m good.”

Kudos to Jada Pinkett Smith for realizing what is and isn’t worth getting all bent out of shape over. She clearly realizes her good fortune and doesn’t tempt the fates by whining over unnecessary things.

Hopefully Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith continue to enjoy a long and happy marriage.Perhaps they can one day talk of these crazy divorce rumors with their grandkids.

  • Jada Pinkett Smith More ‘Playful’ With Will Smith Since Role in ‘Magic Mike XXL’

Jada Pinkett Smith stars in Magic Mike XXL–opening in theaters Wednesday–and since playing the role, it seems her husband Will Smith is reaping some rather special benefits.

“It really taught me how to be more playful with my husband,” she says of her husband of 18 years.

That wasn’t all the actress learned while on the set of Magic Mike XXL either. She learned how to stay in the background rather than dominating space among the all-male cast.

“I really felt like this was a space for bro-time,” Jada Pinkett Smith said. “I tried to be respectful of that and I really enjoyed watching the men. It was so much fun to see and to realize men really need boy time.”

    Channing Tatum agreed.

“Guys don’t do that at all. We do the opposite. We do everything but talk about that,” he said. “We create another little world. It’s like a pressure release. … Men are just like monkeys beating on the walls of the cage.”

Jada Pinkett Smith thinks there can be a balance, however. And starring in Magic Mike XXL helped her achieve it. She was used to simply sitting back and watching Will Smith play.

“He’s a silly man all day long. He’s the guy who hides behind the door and jumps out. He’s that guy. All day,” she said. “He’s just a big freaking kid. I always play the role of like, ‘OK, you be the kid. OK, that’s cute.’”

Oh, so that’s the kind of playfulness she’s referring to? It’s not playfulness in the bedroom?

Jada Pinkett Smith definitely enjoys her playful time with Will Smith much more than ever these days. You can’t convince many people that after starring in Magic Mike XXL that she didn’t become more playful behind closed doors as well.

  • Bella Thorne Dishes On ‘Scream’ Death During Twitter Q&A, Watch The Video

Bella Thorne got her scream on for MTVs new TV adaptation of the Scream movie franchise.

Although the “it” girl of Hollywood declined the lead in the upcoming series, she joined the ranks of Drew Barrymore, Jada Pinkett Smith, Mike Epps and Kristen Bell to die in the opening scene of the Scream film productions.

During a recent Facebook Q&A, Bella Thorne accidentally let it slip that she dies in the first scene like her predecessors.

“Bella it’s true that you will appear on the first episode of scream TV series in 2015?” asked one Twitter follower.

“Yes it is true,” Tweeted Bella Thorne. “I will re-enact the famous scene of drew barrymore in the original series.”

Bella Thorne reportedly turned down the lead role in the MTV reboot because of time and travel restraints, but is still glad to be a part of the show that is being filmed in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

“It just didn’t end up working out relocation-wise. I just couldn’t do it. I’m too young to relocate,” Thorne tweeted. “I love my mom and my brother. Although that sounds very immature, I’m still a kid at heart. I like being home in my bed and I can’t lose my brother just yet. We’re best friends.”

Looks like family comes over fame and money for the young actress.

  • Jada Pinkett Smith And Family Leave Town, Maid Finds Stranger In Kitchen

Jada Pinkett Smith and her family were, thankfully, out of town when an overzealous fan decided to break into their home and have a look around, but the woman has been issued a restraining order and is on probation after the incident.

The Smiths are the latest celebrities to endure a home invasion after 26-year old Ariel Archer entered their home back in March and took a little tour. The family’s maid came upon her in the kitchen and notified authorities, who arrested her on charges of trespassing. Archer pleaded no contest to the charge on Monday.

The restraining order will keep Archer from coming within 150 feet of the entire Smith family. Meanwhile, Jada Pinkett Smith has not commented on the intruder but spoke recently about how important her family is to her, saying she won’t take on a project unless she knows they are taken care of first.

”My family is my priority. If my family is stable and everyone has what they need, then I look at a way to fit in a creative endeavour. There is no one way to do it! A woman needs to be deeply connected to herself and her family, and she has got to trust herself. It’s about staying present and adjusting the formula which comes in a million forms. Trust takes courage–happiness takes courage; it’s not easy!” Smith said.

Jada seems like a woman you wouldn’t want to mess with, especially when it comes to her children. She recently told Haute Living that her strength sometimes hinders her when it comes to roles, because she doesn’t know how to play a woman who isn’t strong.

“People tell me that I always play strong women. In all honestly that is probably where I am restricted in my creative pursuits. I have no idea how not to be strong, and I don’t know if I have the desire to. I tend to gravitate towards strength energy lines,” Jada Pinkett Smith said.

  • Jada Pinkett Smith Says Will Smith Could Cheat If He Wanted To

Jada Pinkett Smith told Howard Stern recently that she advises her kids to not get married as young as she did. When Stern countered that her marriage had worked out just fine, she admitted that it had, but it may be exceptional.

“It did work out, but let me tell you that it worked out in a way that I have a husband that is a gangsta partner. You gotta be strong. It takes work Howard.”

Much has been said about the nature of Jada and Will Smith’s marriage. Some say it is an open marriage, based on comments that Jada made on Oprah. She said that Will could go out with other women if he chose to. But her statement contained a caveat that most people missed.

“Here’s the deal with that, Howard,” she began. “You’ve got to trust who you’re with. And at the end of the day, I’m not here to be anybody’s watcher. I’m not his watcher. He’s a grown man. Here’s what I trust — I trust that the man that Will is, is a man of integrity. So, he’s got all the freedom in the world. As long as Will can look himself in the mirror and be okay, I’m good.”

Jada Smith says that she and Will allow each other the freedom to do whatever they want, with the knowledge that neither of them actually ever will stray. That understanding is what holds their marriage together in mutual respect.

Still, Jada says that she knows that any human will notice other people.

Jada says Will tells her if he has a crush on anyone else. “You have to!” she exclaimed. “Because I’m going to know anyway.”

Jada takes a realistic but enlightened approach to the idea of fidelity and attraction.

“I’m not the kind of woman that believes a man is not going to be attracted to other women,” Jada exlpained. “I’m just not that girl. It’s just not realistic. And just because your man is attracted to another woman, does not mean he doesn’t love you. That’s not what it means. And it doesn’t mean he’s going to act on it. If your man can’t really see another woman’s beauty, how the hell is he going to see yours?”

She sums up her belief this way:

“You have to be mature, but you have got to be human and you have got to be who you are.”
