  • Kim Raver on Her ’24’ Character Post-Coma

Kim Raver on Her ’24’ Character Post-Coma

Kim Raver – a.k.a Audrey Raines Boudreau on the TV show 24said in an interview with Fox 24 Denver Wednesday that even though she has been with the show since Season 4, the latest scripts leave her completely surprised.

Raver once again plays Audrey in the one-off season event of 24:Live Another Day. In the season’s premier, Audrey wakes up from a traumatic coma suffered in the mini-series to find she is now married to Chief of Staff Mark Boudreau, played by Tate Donovan. She continues to be clueless about the marriage in the season premiere because Mark decides to keep it a secret from Audrey and her father (now the President), believing the revelation would be too traumatic for them.

“She’s kind of finding her voice. Especially with that twist, that Jack (Keifer Sutherland) is back and ‘how could you not tell me?’… So… I really find that Audrey is kind of coming back as well,” said Raver.

24:Live Another Day departs from the original format in that the 24 hours is shown in just 12 episodes, with only certain hours depicted.

Needless to say, the show will have twists and turns that even Raver finds surprising. The show is still being filmed for upcoming episodes and the Grey’s Anatomy actress has had a chance to see the upcoming plot twists in working scripts.

“She’s been through so much and at the top of the season she has a quieter voice because of the damage she’s experienced,” Raver said. “But what’s exciting is that she finds her voice and it’s interesting to find out why and how and to see her start to evolve from there.”

“I know some of the secrets, and then literally some I don’t. I literally gasped out loud,” said Raver. “The writers are so good that they create moments where, you know, it’s still a page turner.”

And even though her character is married to Boudreau, Raver says she still hopes Audrey and Jack somehow find each other.

“I’m a hopeless romantic so I want them to be together forever and ever,” said Raver. “There’s something very fundamentally romantic about these two damaged people who deserve to be together.”

Fans of the hit series 24 have probably been going crazy in anticipation for the new event series that will feature Kiefer Sutherland reprising his role of Jack Bauer in 24: Live Another Day.

There have been short clips revealed, and new cast members joining and exiting the series, but for the first time, fans finally get a full trailer for the upcoming series. The preview is not as long as some film trailers, but it does last for a full minute, and features new footage that has not been seen before.

The new trailer features plenty of pulse-pounding action that is sure to keep everyone on the edge of their seat when the show premieres. There are explosions, terrorist plots being planned, and the urgent phone calls that everyone remembers Jack Bauer receiving throughout 24.

24: Live Another Day is an event series that will air on Fox, the same network that aired 24. It is being shot on location in London, where the upcoming series will be set. It will follow Jack Bauer once again, who is in exile, but still willing to risk his life to thwart a terrorist attack.

It was announced months ago that Kiefer Sutherland’s beloved character would be returning to the small screen, and people have been buzzing about it ever since.

Another thing to note is that both Kim Raver and William Devane will be reprising their roles from 24 as well. In addition to the old cast members, 24: Live Another Day‘s cast will include Yvonne Strahovski, Giles Matthey, Gbenga Akinnagbe, Michael Wincott and Michelle Fairley.

The 24 revival will keep the same format that made the show such a groundbreaking hit, and play out in real-time as Jack Bauer attempts to save the United States. The event series will consist of 12 new episodes, and there is even a possibility of a 24 film happening too.

24 has been off the air for four years now, although it may seem like even longer for some people. The original series ran from 2001 until 2010. Tune in for 24: Live Another Day on Monday, May 5. The show will have a 2-hour premiere beginning at 8 p.m., and then air at 9 p.m. for the following episodes.

Fans of the series are certainly expecting great things, but reboots are also never as good as the originals, and some fans might prefer to simply leave the series alone.

Howard Gordon, an executive producer on the show is excited about where the show is heading and talked about how doing something that you are proud of can take a lot of time and effort.

Gordon said “We have every hope that we are going to maintain the quality we had, but it was a marathon. It was punishing. There’s a horizon with this. With 24, you could never see the other side of the stories.”

The 24 revival will keep the same format that made the show such a groundbreaking hit, and play out in real-time as Jack Bauer attempts to save the United States. 24: Live Another Day will feature Bauer attempting to stop a terrorist attack that could change the world forever.

  • Kiefer Sutherland Will Be Snake In Metal Gear Solid V

Metal Gear Solid fans went a little nuts earlier this year when it was revealed that long time Snake voice actor David Hayter would not be reprising his role in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Soon after, speculation ran rampant with some even thinking this was yet another moment of Kojima trolling his fans.

During its pre-E3 briefing today, Hideo Kojima announced that Keifer Sutherland will be playing the role of Snake in Metal Gear Solid V. The decision was made after Kojima spoke to personal friend Avi Arad about his troubles in finding an actor who could portray an older Snake. Arad introduced Kojma to Sutherland, and the rest is history.

So, what does Hayter think about being replaced by Sutherland?

It seems that he’s taking it rather well.

Unfortunately, Kojima didn’t provide any details regarding launch date or platforms for Metal Gear Solid V. Early material said it was a PS3 and PS3 game, but there have been some murmurings about it coming to next-gen consoles as well. As for the launch, we’re still probably at least a year away.

  • ‘24’ Is Coming Back To Fox In May

‘24’ Is Coming Back To Fox In May

24 is coming back to Fox, for at least one more season (though it will only be twelve episodes, as opposed to the custom twenty-four).

In a rather surprising bit of news, the network announced that the show will return in May, complete with Kiefer Sutherland returning as the iconic Jack Bauer.

    From USA Today:

The new season, one of two “limited series” Fox plans for 2014, will be compressed into 12 weeks and premiere next May, says Fox entertainment chairman Kevin Reilly. “We’ll go in chronological order with the hours of the day, but we’ll skip some hours,” he says.

Fans shouldn’t get too attached, as there are no plans to extend the show beyond the twelve episodes, at this point, but who knows what will happen. There was talk of a 24 movie, but the would-be director recently said the project is dead.

24 has been off the air since 2010, after running for eight seasons.
