  • iPhone 6 Plus Pre-orders May Be Delayed By Weeks

The iPhone 6 Plus will go on sale September 19th, but was available for pre-order on Thursday.

Of course, Apple set a new record for pre-order sales and has placed a strain on the existent supply of iPhone 6 Plus models.

The iPhone 6 Plus now shows a delivery time of up to a month, but if you can settle for the regular iPhone 6, you could have it on the September 19th release date.

If you order the new iPhone 6 Plus through Verizon Wireless, AT&T or Sprint, shipment could be delayed for six weeks or more.

Apple spokeswoman Trudy Muller said, “Response to iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus has been incredible, with a record number of pre-orders overnight. Pre-orders are currently available online or through the Apple Store App.”

This delay has caused some pretty crazy secondary market sales of rights to a pre-ordered iPhone 6 Plus. In many cases, rights to a pre-ordered iPhone 6 are worth as much as double the sticker price.

In some other extreme cases, the case is much crazier.

One eBay auction for an unlocked 128-gigabyte gold version of the iPhone 6 was bidding at $1,625 on Friday afternoon. That is compared with a face value of $949 if you order it and wait for a few weeks.

Sometimes, when people just have to be the first with the new toy (we all know that guy), there is no room for logic. The result is that some people who buy in bulk to resale will be very successful at taking other people’s money in return for the privilege of being the first in the office with the new iPhone 6 Plus.

Or you could hang on to that iPhone 5S for a few more weeks and pay a normal price.
