  • Injustice: Gods Among Us Now Available On Android

Before Injustice: Gods Among Us hit the Xbox 360 and PS3 back in April, WB games launched a companion app for iOS that provided a near console-like fighting game experience. Now the mobile app is moving to other platforms.

WB Games announced today that the mobile version of Injustice: Gods Among Us is now available on Android devices. As you would expect from more modern mobile titles, the fighter is only available on devices with Android 4.0 or later.

Just like the iOS version, Injustice on Android is free-to-play and supported by microtransactions. While you can certainly unlock everything in the game through normal gameplay, buying in-game currency will help you level up your fighters with new moves and costumes much faster.

Here’s a trailer that shows off what the game looks like running on Android:

The Android release of Injustice comes on the heels of NetherRealm releasing Batman: Arkham Origins on iOS. There’s no word yet on when that game will come to Android, but it will probably take a while for the Batman-based brawler to make its way to Android devices.

You can download Injustice: Gods Among Us from Google Play or the Amazon Appstore starting today. The console version of the fighter is also now available on the PS4, PS Vita and PC alongside the original PS3 and Xbox 360 releases.

  • Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition Heading To PS4, PS Vita And PC

Injustice: Gods Among Us was hailed as one of the best fighting games of the year when it was released on the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii U back in April. Now the DC fighter is making the jump to three more platforms next month complete with all of its DLC.

WB Games announced today that Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition will hit the PS4, PS Vita and PC next month. This version of the game includes everything that was in the base game plus all the DLC. The DLC includes all costumes and the six playable characters that were released post launch – Lobo, Martian Manhunter, Batgirl, General Zod, Zatanna and Scorpion.

While the game will hit the PS4, PS Vita and PC next month, the PlayStation Blog post announcing the news focused exclusively on the Vita version. It’s being developed by the team at Armature Studios – the same team responsible for this month’s Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate. The developers say that the Vita version will retain all the features of the PS3 version, including 60 FPS gameplay. On top of that, it will also add Vita specific features like local ad-hoc multiplayer and touch controls for Story Mode and S.T.A.R. Labs missions.

As for the PS4 and PC versions, the only news we have on them is that they’re coming in November. VG247 reports that the PS4 version will launch on November 29 alongside the European launch of the PS4. It’s not known yet if the same holds true for the U.S. PS4 launch on November 15. As for the PC release, it will be available at some point in November as well.

Oh, and those gamers who only have a PS3 or Xbox 360 aren’t being left out. The Ultimate Edition will be available on those platforms next month as well.

UPDATE: IGN reports that Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition will launch on PS4, PS Vita, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC on November 12 in North America.

  • Zatanna Weaves Her Magic In Injustice: Gods Among Us

Injustice: Gods Among Us may go down in history as the fighting game with the most DLC characters if it keeps up its current pace. That’s not exactly a bad thing as Ed Boon and his team at NetherRealm Studios are now dipping into the lesser known characters from the DC universe.

The latest fighter to join the fighter is Zatanna – a magician with formidable powers. She was featured in one of the best episodes of Justice League Unlimited, and she occasionally teams up with the Justice League in the comics to solve cases.

As you would expect from a magician, most of Zatanna’s attacks are magic based. She can still hold her own in a fight, however, as is evidenced against her bout with Solomon Grundy below:

Zatanna will be added to the Injustice roster in the near future. She joins recent additions like Martian Manhunter and General Zod.

  • Learn All About Martian Manhunter In This Latest Injustice Trailer

Ever since Injustice: Gods Among Us was unveiled, fans have been clamoring for the inclusion of Martian Manhunter. Unfortunately, he wasn’t available at launch. That all changes today, however, with the latest DLC release.

To celebrate the launch of the Martian Manhunter DLC pack, NetherRealm studios has tossed together a short video detailing the origins of J’onn J’onzz. If you had watched the excellent Justice League and Justice League Unlimited, a lot of this will be old news to you. What is new is the revelation that J’onzz has left the Justice League in the wake of the events leading up to Injustice, and that he is now going up against Superman.

Martian Manhunter is just the latest character to be added as DLC to the DC fighting game, and he won’t be the last. The team is already hinting that they’re adding a fan favorite character next, but details are scarce at the moment. If a recent poll is any indication, however, we could be seeing Zatanna or Red Hood joining the ranks of Injustice.

The Martian Manhunter DLC will be out today for Xbox 360 and PS3. Like always, the Wii U version will come later.

  • Martian Manhunter Is Finally Coming To Injustice: Gods Among Us

Ever since he was teased in the Scorpion reveal, fans of Injustice: Gods Among Us have been clamoring for the addition of Martian Manhunter to the game. They were disappointed when General Zod was announced instead as the next character coming to the fighter, but were later overjoyed to learn that NetherRealm was just waiting for the proper venue to unveil one of their most requested characters.

Over the weekend at EVO 2013, NetherRealm revealed that Martian Manhunter will be the next DLC character coming to Injustice. He’s a capable fighter and it shows in his fight against another new character coming to Injustice – John Stewart. For many, Stewart was the Green Lantern as he defined the character through multiple seasons of Justice League and Justice League Unlimited.

Unfortunately, John Stewart is just a new skin for Green Lantern. He shares the same move set as Hal Jordan’s Green Lantern. It’s still a nice nod, however, to fans of Stewart’s Green Lantern.

Speaking of Green Lantern, Hal Jordan took on Superman yesterday in the EVO 2013 Injustice Grand Finals. You can watch the final match played by the two best Injustice players in the world below:

  • Be The Man Of Steel In Injustice: Gods Among Us

Have you seen Man of Steel yet? Hate it? Like It? Either way, I think most of us can agree that Superman’s new duds are pretty awesome. Sure, some people might like the classic underwear on the outside look more, but I was definitely a fan of the new look. For those like me, the team at NetherRealm Studios have put together a special costume pack for Injustice: Gods Among Us.

The Man of Steel costume pack for Injustice does just what it advertises – it adds Superman’s costume from the recent film to the game. Players can play as the last son of Krypton in his new duds while fighting against heroes and villains decked out in costumes inspired by other popular stories in the DC Universe like Blackest Night and Red Son.

Unfortunately, buying the Man of Steel pack won’t make your Superman look like Henry Cavill. It will also not add a new costume for recent DLC character General Zod.

You can pick up the Man of Steel DLC pack on Xbox Live and PSN for $1.

  • Here’s Everything You Need To Know About General Zod

Do you like Injustice: Gods Among Us, but aren’t super big on Superman? It’s okay, a lot of people aren’t, but you might want to at least know some of the backstory behind one of Kal-El’s most formidable opponents – General Zod.

The official Injustice YouTube channel recently uploaded a new trailer that goes into the history behind General Zod, or at least the history as told in the Injustice universe. Those who have only seen the latest Man of Steel film will find his origin story to be a little different.

If you want to see how Zod plays, check out his first gameplay trailer that was revealed last week.

It should also be noted that the Injustice DLC that’s already available for the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the title is finally available for the Wii U version as well.

  • General Zod Is The Latest Injustice Combatant

Injustice: Gods Among Us continues its quest to add every major character from the DC Universe to its repertoire of fighters. The latest should be very familiar to those saw Man of Steel last week.

General Zod – warlord from the planet Krypton – will be bringing his unique brand of Kryptonian strength to the super powered fights of Injustice. Zod sports all the powers of Superman, but he has the added advantage of advanced technology.

General Zod will be coming to Injustice: Gods Among Us in early July. Unfortunately, there’s still no word on the status of Martian Manhunter after he was teased in the Scorpion reveal trailer.

  • Mortal Kombat Invades The DC Universe In Latest Injustice DLC

In 2008, Midway released Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe on the PS3 and Xbox 360. The fighting game was a strange crossover that worked for some while not exactly winning the favor of others. NetherRealm redeemed itself earlier this year with the exclusively DC fighter Injustice: Gods Among Us, but now the developers will be introducing one character from the Mortal Kombat universe into the game.

NetherRealm announced today that Scorpion, arguably the most recognizable character from Mortal Kombat, will be joining the roster of Injustice as a DLC character. The coolest part about Scorpion’s inclusion is that Jim Lee will create a new design for the character so that he fits more easily into the DC Universe.

Previously, NetherRealm had announced Lobo and Batgirl as the first two DLC characters for Injustice. There will be more DLC characters release for the game, but it’s unknown if the developers will include more characters from the Mortal Kombat universe.

Oh, and for you Martian Manhunter fans, you’ll want to watch the end of the trailer for a little surprise.

  • Watch Batman And Superman Battle To The Death

Batman and Superman usually have a healthy respect for one another, but they do occasionally fight. Superman would obviously win in terms of pure brute force, but Batman does sometimes scrape out a win with his superior intellect and tactics.

Batman’s superior tactics win out once again in the final round of the Injustice: Gods Among Us battle arena. After a month of fights, it came down to the two most iconic characters in the DC Comics universe. The victor was decided by votes, but it was pretty obvious that Batman was going to win anyway.

Injustice: Gods Among Us has been available since Tuesday, and early reviews are overwhelmingly positive. There seems to be some issues with balance, but that shouldn’t bother hardcore DC fans looking to live out their fantasy of Aquaman becoming the most powerful DC hero.

  • Injustice: Gods Among Us Should Get An Animated Film

Up until this point, I’ve always thought that Injustice: Gods Among Us looked like a great game. After the reveal of the opening cinematic, I’m convinced that DC needs to make an animated film.

If you’re unfamiliar with the events leading up to hero vs. hero fights in Injustice, let’s just say that Metropolis is no more and Superman is very angry. You should avoid the video below if you don’t want the opening moments of the game’s story spoiled, but there’s some quality storytelling and acting here. The Joker in particular stands out even though it’s a little sad that Mark Hamill didn’t reprise his role this time around.

If you don’t like spoilers and just want to watch super heroes beat each other up, you should check out the launch trailer for the game. There’s plenty of combat to go around.

Injustice: Gods Among Us will launch on April 16 for the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii U.

  • Ares And Killer Frost Duke It Out In Injustice: Gods Among Us

In a few weeks, we’ll finally be able to see who wins in a match up between Superman and Batman in the Injustice: Gods Among Us Battle Arena. Before that, however, the team at NetherRealm are still announcing characters for the already packed fighter.

Killer Frost and Ares, villains opposite of Firestorm and Wonder Woman respectively, are joining the fray. Instead of spotlighting the characters separately, the reveal trailer instead pits the villains against each other. Fans will get to the specials for each character as well with Ares’ special being especially awesome.

The addition of Killer Frost is especially interesting as it seemingly confirms that Firestorm will be added to the game as well. Every character revealed thus far has had their opposing hero or villain added to the roster so it only makes sense.

Injustice: Gods Among Us will launch across the Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii U on April 26.

  • You Can Play Injustice: Gods Among Us Right Now… On Your iPhone

Injustice: Gods Among Us, the DC fighter from NetherRealm Studios, isn’t set to launch on consoles until April 26. If you really need your Injustice fix now, however, you might want to try the recently released game for iOS.

Thankfully, the iOS version of Injustice isn’t a poorly constructed fighting game for mobile platforms. Instead, the team has created a thoughtful title that combines the cinematic fights of its console brother with an accessible collectible card game mechanic that players can use to level up their fighters.

As an added bonus, Injustice for iOS unlocks exclusive content in the console version of the game. It’s not being said what can be unlocked, but it’s probably a few costumes or other aesthetic rewards. Still, it’s better than nothing.

You can grab Injustice for iOS here. It’s a free-to-play title supported by microtransactions that aren’t exactly micro. There’s something definitely wrong when an in-game item costs $100, but that debate is for another time.

  • Batman And Superman Will Face Off In The Injustice Battle Arena Finale

Batman and Superman – the two characters that pretty much define the DC Universe. The two have come to blows in the past, and they will again in the Injustice: Gods Among Us Battle Arena finale.

Before we get to that, however, Batman and Superman had to emerge victorious over their opponents in the semi-finals. First up, Batman squared off against The Flash where Batman easily took the win. Of course, some YouTube commenters are not exactly pleased with the outcome – rightly pointing out that The Flash could handily beat Batman in a matter of seconds if the outcome was decided by anything other than voting.

The other matchup saw Superman taking on Green Lantern. Once again, votes decide the ultimate victor, but this fight is at least a little more balanced. Green Lantern can easily put up a decent fight against Superman, but the combined powers of Superman and Killer Croc were just too much to bear.

The final fight between Superman and Batman will air two weeks from now. Both characters are incredibly popular so it will be interesting to see which hero gets the most votes.

Injustice: Gods Among Us launches across the Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii U on April 16.

  • Black Adam Joins The Cast Of Injustice: Gods Among Us

It seemed unlikely that NetherRealm Studios would announce even more characters for the already star-studded Injustice: Gods Among Us. The studio is full of surprises, however, as it has announced another new character for the DC Comics fighter.

It was announced that Black Adam will be joining the cast of Injustice: Gods Among Us. For those unaware, Black Adam is the villain/anti-hero opposite of Captain Marvel/Shazam. It’s unclear as to how he or Shazam will fit into the story, but Black Adam’s move set looks to be a more aggressive version of Shazam’s.

With this latest announcement, the Injustice roster is now at 24 characters. The developers may have to start looking into more obscure characters if they aim to add anymore. If they do start to add more obscure characters, I can only hope that Mr. Banjo at least makes a cameo appearance.

Injustice: Gods Among Us will launch across the Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii U on April 16.

  • Injustice Battle Arena Quarterfinals End With Few Surprises

After a week hiatus, the Injustice: Gods Among Us Battle Arena is back. Instead of making us wait four weeks to see each quarterfinal matchup, the Injustice team has dumped all four fights on us at once in preparation for the semi-finals a few weeks from now.

First up, we have the much anticipated match up between Batman and Wonder Woman. Since the victors are decided by popular vote, it’s pretty obvious that Batman would win this fight. That being said, Wonder Woman puts up a great fight. Her stage is also a thing of beauty.

In what is possibly the strangest matchup today, The Joker and The Flash face off. I would have figured that The Joker would win the most votes, but The Flash came through to earn himself a spot against Batman in the semi-finals.

On the other side of the bracket, we first have Aquaman versus Green Lantern. While it was nice to see Aquaman come away with at least one win, he couldn’t stand up to the might of Hal Jordan.

The final fight is by far the most unfair of the bunch – Superman versus Green Arrow. Green Arrow has some amazing trick arrows, but Superman was guaranteed to win.

The results of the quarterfinals ensure that we’re in for a treat once the semifinals start up a few weeks from now. I’m especially interested in seeing that Batman versus The Flash fight. It’s sure to be exciting.

Injustice: Gods Among Us hits Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii U on April 26

  • Superman Defeats Fear Incarnate In Latest Injustice: Gods Among Us Trailer

After weeks of fighting, we’re almost at the end of the first round in the Injustice: Gods Among Us Battle Arena. The last two fights match up Superman against Sinestro, and Hawkgirl against Green Arrow.

Earlier this week, fans and “celebrity analysts” said that Superman and Green Arrow were the favorites to win this week’s matches. Spoiler: They were right on the money.

Sinestro put up a terrific fight, but it’s really hard to compete with Superman. Still, Sinestro is high on my list of villains who could actually pose a threat to the Man of Steel.

As for the Green Arrow’s win, I don’t think we can really give it to him. One of DC’s more prominent villains really stole the win here.

Starting next week, we’ll finally be getting into the quarter finals where Batman will take on Wonder Woman. It should prove to be an incredibly entertaining fight.

Injustice: Gods Among Us launches across the Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii U on April 16.

  • Injustice: Gods Among Us Adds Sinestro And Hawkgirl To The Playable Roster

The next two match ups in the Injustice: Gods Among Us Battle Arena will go live on Friday. Before that, DC Comics announced two new characters for the game that will make their debut on Friday in the latest fights.

DC Comics announced today that Hawkgirl and Sinestro will be joining the ranks of playable characters in Injustice: Gods Among Us. Neither character hardly needs an introduction, but here’s a nice rundown courtesy of the Injustice channel:

Sinestro will be taking on Sinestro in the first round, while Hawkgirl will be taking on Green Arrow. Both fights should be incredibly interesting. We’ll find out who wins and moves on to the next round on Friday.

Injustice: Gods Among Us will be out on April 16 for Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii U.

As an added bonus, here’s Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes talking about this week’s match up:

  • Watch Aquaman Feed Cyborg To A Shark In Injustice: Gods Among Us

It’s Friday, and that means that the Injustice Battle Arena gets another two amazing match ups. The past few weeks have been incredibly exciting with match ups between the likes of Batman and Bane, and The Joker and Lex Luthor.

This week’s first match up is between Aquaman and Cyborg. The recently revealed King of Atlantis has quite a formidable move set. I might also mention that his special has him feeding Cyborg to a shark.

It should be noted that Injustice got Khary Payton, the voice of Cyborg in Teen Titans, to reprise his role in Injustice. Oh, and don’t worry, his trademark “Booyah” is still present.

The second match up is between Green Lantern and Solomon Grundy. Grundy puts up a terrific fight, and is even a little disgusting to boot. Hal Jordan came out victorious, however, after smashing Grundy with a fleet of buses and jet fighters summoned by the ring.

We’re almost at the end of the semifinal fights. After that, we can get on to the quarter finals. I can’t wait to see the match up of Batman and Wonder Woman.
