David Hasselhoff On Board for Sharknado 3

David Hasselhoff won’t go away. The perennial hanger-on has now been picked up to guest star in that annual institution for stars with waning careers: Sharknado.

David Hasselhoff has been tapped to play Ian Ziering’s father in Sharkndo 3. David Hasselhoff will play Gilbert Shepard, father to Fin Shepard.

Tara Reid is also back to reprise her role as April. Other confirmed cast include Bo Derek as April’s mother, Jerry Springer as a manic tourist, NSYNC’s Chris Kirkpatrick as a pool lifeguard, and Chris Jericho as a roller-coaster ride operator.

There has also been a lot of buzz about lately over another surprising guest in Sharknado 3. Mark Cuban will star as President of the United States.

“I’m doing it,” Cuban told Fox Sports recently. “Why not? It’ll be fun.”

But it’s the announcement of Ann Coulter as VP that raised eyebrows.

It’s pretty hard to believe that the Sharknado franchise has made it this far. io9 asked Thunder Levin, the writer of Sharknado, back in 2013:

Has the shark disaster movie run its course, or are we just ramping up?

    Levin replied:

“It’s called Sharknado. I think the shark genre has reached its natural and logical conclusion.”

But, no. The first film saw Tara Reid and Ian Ziering save Los Angeles. The second had them saving New York. Now they mess for the third movie starts in Washington, DC and moves south to Florida.

Anthony C. Ferrante, who has directed all the Sharknado installments, will return to direct the newest one.

David Hasselhoff hinted at his casting in Sharknado 3 with this tweet:

  • Bo Derek to Play Tara Reid’s Mom in ‘Sharknado 3’

Bo Derek has signed on to play the role of May, the mother of Tara Reid’s character April, in the upcoming SyFy production of Sharknado 3. Tara Reid and Celebrity Apprentice contestant Ian Ziering have the Sharknado movies to thank for putting bread on their tables.

In addition to Bo Derek, other celebrities (?) have signed on to play roles in Sharknado 3, including billionaire entrepreneur Mark Cuban, Ann Coulter, Jerry Springer, ‘NSync’s Chris Kirkpatrick, and Chris Jericho.

Sharknado 3 must have some kind of draw to land the Shark Tank star and political commentator.

Bo Derek is, of course, best know for her role in the 1979 film 10, and her signature cornrow braids she sported while running in her bikini across a sandy beach. 10 also starred Dudley Moore, Julie Andrews, and Robert Webber.

Jerry Springer must have missed the memo titled ‘Spoiler Alert’ when he signed on to play in Sharknado 3.

Will you be checking out Bo Derek and the rest of the ‘star-studded’ cast of Sharknado 3 when it appears on SyFy this coming summer?

Do you think we’ve seen the end of the list of cast members or will a few A-listers also sign on?

  • Karrueche Tran: Chris Brown’s Girlfriend to Appear in ‘Sharknado 3?’

Karrueche Tran, the on-again, off-again love interest of rapper Chris Brown, is reportedly headed for the big screen. The model and fashion designer will reportedly appear next summer in Sharknado 3, alongside Tara Reid and Ian Ziering, although that has yet to be officially confirmed.

In Miami earlier in February, Karrueche Tran couldn’t yet spill the beans, but dropped some really strong hints during a recent interview with Hollywood Life.

“All I can tell you is that it is a shark movie that is coming out this summer and I am excited for it to come out,” she said.

Sharknado 3 comes out in July.

Chris Brown recently did a radio interview and was asked about Karrueche Tran’s upcoming movie role.

“She just finished being on the set of a movie, some kind of crazy shark movie she. It’s ill, but she’s pursuing her career,” he said.

Karrueche Tran was recently spotted in Hollywood with Christina Milian at the premiere of Focus, starring Will Smith and Margot Robbie.

Chris Brown has reportedly figured out that Karrueche Tran is a much better girlfriend to him than Rihanna ever was. Sources claim he is even willing to give up his playboy ways for her.

“Chris doesn’t want to live that playboy life anymore. It didn’t serve him any good then and it sure as hell won’t now. He’s content with having one woman in his life and that’s Karrueche,” the source says.

Do you think Chris Brown will escort Karrueche Tran on the red carpet of the Sharknado 3 premiere–if in fact she winds up starring in the movie?

  • Tara Reid Is “In Love With Being In Love”

Tara Reid, the 39-year-old actress, who we know more for her partying lifestyle than her movies, says she is in love with the idea of new love.

She loves the idea of butterflies and romance, just like anyone else.

Tara Reid gushed, “I am in love with being in love. I love romance. Who doesn’t? It’s amazing. In the beginning of a relationship, it’s the best feeling in the world, those butterflies. I wish they could last forever.”

Even though relationships don’t always go as planned, she thinks love is never wasted.

It's great to be captain of the ship on Valentine's Day! I hope you all enjoyed your Valentines I did!

Tara Reid continued, “Even in relationships when it doesn’t work out, you get sad. I have never given up on love and I’ll never give up on romance.”

So, who is the lucky guy that is the recipient of all this love that Tara Reid has to give? Um, there’s not one. She just loves the idea of love.

Get ready. #sharknado 3 is coming @sharkweek lol

    Unless you count furry companions.

When asked if she was actually in love at the moment, Tara Reid responded, “No. Well, yes. With my dog, Portia!”

However, if you were to ask Tara Reid, she is the perfect catch for any guy. She said of herself, “[I’m] probably the most loyal girl you will ever meet in your life. I’m an amazing friend, an amazing sister, an amazing daughter. And a hard worker.”

Speaking of being a hard worker, Tara Reid has begun filming the third installment of the Sharknado movies in Orlando, Florida.

Filming began at Universal Orlando Resort, and it will continue into next week.

Tara Reid co-stars with Ian Ziering again as the two of them battle shark-throwing tornados. There were also plenty of locals on hand to play theme park guests and soldiers.

What do you think of Tara Reid’s career so far?

  • Tara Reid, Ian Ziering Sign on for ‘Sharknado 3’

Tara Reid and Ian Ziering are ready to do it again. The two have signed on for Sharknado 3, which is set to air in July 2015. The SyFy phenomenon will once again feature Tara Reid as April Wexler and Ian Ziering as Fin Shepard.

SyFy made an official announcement about the upcoming TV movie, telling fans that Sharknado 3 will start in Washington, D.C., and “will cause mass destruction in the nation’s capital then roar down the Eastern Seaboard.”

Time magazine reports that director Anthony C. Ferrante is back on board too. Thunder Levin is writing the script.

The first Sharknado was about a freak hurricane that whipped deadly sharks into the air throughout Los Angeles. It became an internet sensation back in 2012 and was followed–just as successfully–by Sharknado 2: The Second One in July of 2013. The network also revealed this week that the sequel became the most watched original movie the network had ever aired. It brought in 3.9 million viewers.

Tara Reid joked about the possibility of a Sharknado incident coming to life during an interview last summer.

“You know, it actually can happen,” she said at the time. “I mean, the chances of it happening are very rare, but it can happen actually. Which is crazy. Not that it—the chances of it are, like, you know, it’s like probably ‘pigs could fly.’ Like, I don’t think pigs could fly, but actually sharks could be stuck in tornados. There could be a ‘sharknado.’”

Aside from the Sharknado franchise, Tara Reid is known for roles in Saved by the Bell: The New Class, Days of Our Lives, California Dreams, and Scrubs. She shared a nude Instagram photo with her followers to ring in 2015. Ian Ziering is best known for his role as Steve Sanders on Beverly Hills, 90210. He is presently a contestant on Celebrity Apprentice.

Will you be tuning in in July to see Tara Reid and Ian Ziering reprise their roles as April Wexler and Fin Shepard in Sharknado 3?

  • Tara Reid Tweets Her Excitement After She and Ian Ziering Sign On For ‘Sharknado 3’ — ‘WooHoo’

Tara Reid and Ian Ziering will once again take on those pesky sharks when Sharknado 3 hits the small screen in July.

Reid, 39, and Ziering, 50, will reprise their roles for the Syfy film as April Wexler and Fin Shepard, the on-again-off-again married couple who somehow manage to save the world from sharks that get caught up in crazy weather and wreck havoc on humanity.

Syfy confimed the sequel at the 2015 Television Critics Association winter press tour Thursday and said the third installment will begin in Washington, D.C., and “will cause mass destruction in the nation’s capital then roar down the Eastern Seaboard.”

The first Sharknado film, set in Los Angeles, became an Internet sensation in July 2013. Sharknado 2: The Second One followed in July 2014 and was set in New York.

According to Syfy, the sequel became the most watched original movie the network had ever aired, bringing in 3.9 million viewers in a single sitting. Needless to say, the third film installment was ordered even before the second premiered.

Reid took to Twitter Thursday afternoon to announce the film and share her excitement.

Thunder Levin, the genius behind Sharknado, also tweeted about the announcement.

Reid said last year in an interview for GQ that a Sharknado could legitimately happen in real life.

“You know, it actually can happen,” she told the magazine in July. “I mean, the chances of it happening are very rare, but it can happen actually. Which is crazy. Not that it—the chances of it are, like, you know, it’s like probably ‘pigs could fly.’ Like, I don’t think pigs could fly, but actually sharks could be stuck in tornados. There could be a sharknado.”

  • Tara Reid Says Humor in ‘Sharknado’ Movies Comes From Playing It Seriously

Actress Tara Reid says the humor found in the campy disaster movies Sharknado and Sharnado 2: The Second One comes from the actors playing their roles very seriously, even though the situations the actors found themselves in were completely ridiculous at times.

“Even though the situation was crazy, you had to play it serious,” the actress told reporters in a teleconference recently. “If you were playing it, laughing all the time, the story line wouldn’t even make sense. It’s like taking it serious in such an absurd, crazy environment and that’s where the jokes come in. That’s where it gets funny, so you really do have to commit to your character and also know what you are playing. And being in that situation that you’re in and playing it serious, then there comes in the humor.”

The SyFy Network’s Sharknado movies tell the tales of freak weather phenomena that dump man-eating sharks from tornados on cities like Los Angeles and New York. Both installments were huge hits for the network and became social media phenomena of their own accord.

In both installments, Reid plays the character, April, and together with her ex-husband Fin, played by Ian Ziering, they take on the sharks.

Reid told UPI the success of the first installment did not affect her approach to playing April.

“It was exciting that the first one was such a hit, but I don’t think that changed how we performed or affected us any way like that,” said Reid. “We were hoping to make another big, fun film that people would enjoy.”

The 38-year-old actress said the excitement to reunite once again to film Sharknado 2 was palpable for the entire cast.

“The vibe on the set was great,” she said. “We got lucky. Everyone truly got along in the movie and had a great time with each other and I think that shows.”

  • Tara Reid and Ian Ziering Sign on for Sharknado 2

The chainsaw-wielding, shark-slaying duo are back! Tara Reid and Ian Ziering have signed on for a Sharknado sequel to debut on Syfy in July.

They will return as Fin and April in Sharknado 2: The Second One, ready to battle the hungry sharks as the deadly weather system descends upon New York City, wrecking havoc on people and famous landmarks.

Syfy considered hiring an entirely new cast, sources said, but negotiations finally resolved any lingering issues and the pair signed on this week.

Sharknado was an extraordinary ‘perfect storm’ which captured the attention of movie fans across the globe,” said Thomas Vitale, executive vice president of programming and original movies at Syfy. “You couldn’t go anywhere without hearing about ‘Sharknado’! By reassembling the creative team — and dropping sharks onto New York’s iconic sites — we’re unleashing yet another ‘fin’ wave of shark-mania.”

Sharknado took on the world by storm and social media in July when it aired for the first time. It was one of those “OMG, this is so bad… but it’s SO good.” kind of movies. It attracted 1.4 million viewers with 566,000 of them in the age range of 18-49, which is the most important demographic for advertisers and for the network. During it’s peak, the movie generated 5,000 tweets per minute.

Reid and Ziering started the next wave of tweets for the sequel:

Producer Paul Bales of The Asylum, the company responsible for bringing Sharknado to viewers said, “We’re thrilled to be able to bring back the talent that made Sharknado a hit. Can lightning strike twice? I don’t know, but it’s a scientific fact that you’re more likely to be killed by lightning than by a shark. This film will have lightning and sharks, so that’s got to count for something.”

Filming of the sequel is scheduled to begin Feb. 13 on location in New York City.

  • Tara Reid and Ian Ziering Set to Shoot Sharknado 2

It really was just an inevitability, after the unexpected success of the Syfy original B-movie Sharknado, there had to be sequel. It’s now been confirmed that both Tara Reid and Ian Ziering will reprise their roles as April and Fin for Sharknado 2: The Second One.

The American Pie actress and The Beverly Hills 90210 hunk will start shooting the sequel in a couple weeks. The major difference between the two films is location. Sharknado 2 moves to New York City from Los Angeles after a crazy weather system disrupts the Big Apple and sharks invade the city.

The original Sharknado aired in July, 2013. The story is about what happens when a freaky hurricane crushes Los Angeles and hungry sharks take over the city. Ziering plays hero and rescues his ex-wife (Reid) and their teenage daughter. They ultimately defeat the sharks by throwing bombs from a helicopter, shooting them out of the air and even chainsawing through them from the inside out.

The strange thing, okay one of the strangest things, is that Sharknado was only watched by about 1 million viewers. The average number for this sort of common Syfy movie is closer to 1.5 million. So then why is there going to be a sequel? And why does everyone in country know what you’re talking about when you say “Sharknado?”

The internet really gave the movie a large boost. It seemed the whole world was on Twitter and Facebook talking about the absurd, silliness of what would happen if a tornado and a deluge of sharks attacked a major city.

The idea of “Sharknado” has become a punchline in many a joke on Twitter since the movie first aired last summer.

You can expect to see the sequel on Syfy this July.

  • Tara Reid, Ian Ziering Are Bringing Sharknadoes To NYC

It was inevitable, folks; a sequel to the insanely popular SyFy feature “Sharknado” is headed our way this summer, and both Tara Reid and Ian Ziering have signed on to bring it to us.

It’s an idea that’s been visited before in horror films; take everyone out of their element and put them in the big city. There’s something about seeing a familiar landmark either being destroyed or used as a backdrop for some sick stuff that captures our imaginations, and “Sharknado 2: The Second One” will likely have both.

“Sharknado was an extraordinary ‘perfect storm’ which captured the attention of movie fans across the globe,” said Thomas Vitale, executive vice president of programming at Syfy. “You couldn’t go anywhere without hearing about Sharknado! By reassembling the creative team — and dropping sharks onto New York’s iconic sites — we’re unleashing yet another ‘fin’ wave of shark-mania.”

Reid had said last year, after the success of the first film, that she would be down to do a sequel. But she is aware that this isn’t the next “Citizen Kane” we’re talking about.

“This movie was so ridiculous, you know? Like it’s almost so bad that it’s good,” she said.

As well as the stars being on board, director Anthony Ferrante and screenwriter Thunder Levin have returned for the second installment. The movie begins shooting on February 13 in NYC and will premiere on SyFy in July.

  • Tara Reid: Sharknado Two? Reid says “Why not?”

Tara Reid has played in over 41 different films since she started her career as a child actress, playing roles such as Sandy on Saved by the Bell: The New Class and Ashley on Days of our Lives. Her most recent role was playing character April in the new Syfy horror release, “Sharknado”. Reid plays her role alongside “Beverly Hills 90210” star Ian Ziering. The plot, which many have described as “cheesy”, involves vicious sharks being thrown onto land by tornadoes. Reid and Ziering play ex-spouses who team up to investigate why these sharks are suddenly being hurled around in the air by tornadoes instead of swimming around in sea.

This movie was so ridiculous, you know? Like it’s almost so bad that it’s good.
    -Tara Reid

“Sharknado” was released on July 11, 2013, and it was one of the most popular subjects popping up on social media sites, with over 387,000 mentions. However, the movie didn’t receive such good rating and only drew in approximately 1.4 million viewers. This may sound like a lot, but compared to Syfy’s release in 2011, “Swamp Shark” that brought in 2.2 million viewers, it is definitely below average. “I had no idea,” Reid told TMZ Live on Friday. “I just thought sharks flying in he sky is just the funniest movie ever. Because “Sharknado” made such a huge impact in the social media world, Syfy has planned to air the movie again on Thursday July 18th at 7pm EDT.

When asked if she would be willing to film a sequel to “Sharknado”, Reid said “Why not?” She has made it clear that she is definitely up for doing “Sharknado” round two.

  • Ian Ziering Gears Up For Baby Number Two

Ian Ziering Gears Up For Baby Number Two

Ian Ziering, former star of “Beverly Hills, 90210” and “Dancing With The Stars”, is expecting his second child with wife Erin.

The couple already have a daughter, Mia, who was born last April. Ziering says they are already explaining the pregnancy to their daughter to try and prepare her.

“We tell her ‘baby’ and point to Erin’s belly,” Ziering said. “Now she points to Erin’s belly and says, ‘Baby.’”

48-year old Ziering says he is still working and has “a lot of irons in the fire” when it comes to acting, producing, and pitching television shows. Now, he says, things feel more complete.

“I feel blessed, having a family is something that I’ve always wanted,” he said. “Having a second child is the realization of a dream come true.”

Ziering joins his old castmate Brian Austin Green in adding onto his family; Green recently welcomed a baby boy with wife Megan Fox.
