  • Olivia Munn Sees Spirit Medium for Anxiety Issues

Olivia Munn once lived through a horrible ordeal that changed her for life.

“About four years ago, I was almost in a plane crash,” Munn says. “Everybody on the plane thought we were going to die … even the flight attendants were crying and screaming. It made me question everything.”

Makes you think twice about punking someone with a “we’re all about to die” stunt, doesn’t it?

Olivia Munn is 35 years old. But her issues began before that. At age 26 she developed a compulsion to yank at her eyelashes. This is called trichotillomania, an OCD disorder. Munn began seeing a therapist that specializes in hypnosis treatments for help with that. Her therapist also helped her enjoy working out.

Still Munn has times when her anxiety kicks in hard.

“With my anxiety, if I’m not in the mood to go out to dinner, I can’t; I almost feel paralyzed,” Olivia Munn reveals. She leans on her friends, particularly her friend Jessica. “When I say, ‘Want to come over to watch TV and sit around in misery?’ she’ll say, ‘Yeah, I want to do that.’ I really admire the ability in a friend to be there for somebody emotionally. That’s a great quality.”

Even her dog Chance is around to help her.

“I was having a tough time earlier this year; one day I broke down on the floor, crying,” Olivia says. “Chance came up and snuggled with me. He’s so smart, so kind … he’s got my heart.”

Friends, a dog, even a hypnotherapist is not too unusual. But Olivia Munn also sees spirit medium Theresa Caputo. The pair met on a talk show.

“After [the plane crash scare], Theresa helped me open up” Olivia Munn says. “Now I believe in God, or whatever you want to call it. I believe that our souls exist past this — and that as long as we’re good to each other, that’s all that really matters.”

  • Olivia Munn Says She Gets Her Fit Body from Hypnosis

Olivia Munn has come a long way since she played video games on TV. Her successful stint on Newsroom made her a household name, taking her out of the shadows of nerd-dom and into the spotlight.

Now Munn appears in the tabloids almost as much as any other hot celebrity, particularly since she is also in a celeb relationship. Boyfriend Aaron Rodgers, quarterback for the Green Bay Packers, gets his own share of press. But now Munn tells Good Housekeeping that Rodgers is also her inspiration to saty fit.

“My boyfriend’s healthiness inspires me. Aaron is different than every other man I’ve ever met … there’s so much I could say. Everything a good person can be, he is,” Olivia Munn said.

“He’s in such great shape, and especially lately, he’s been eating so well and working out,” Munn continued. “Having somebody in your life like that is so motivating.”

But even with an inspiring partner to encourage her, Munn was having some difficulty working out. So she went the extra mile, talking with a therapist.

Munn has used therapy to help her with other issues before. She works to control her OCD and trichotillomania — a disorder that is often characterized by a person pulling on their eyelashes, sometimes pulling them out.

“I was going to a hypnotist to help me with my OCD and trichotillomania. One day I told him I didn’t work out, and he said, ‘What do you mean?’ I replied, ‘I don’t know. I just kind of don’t. I yo-yo.’ He said, ‘You have to! It’s good for your anxiety and depression.’ So during one of our sessions, he hypnotized me,” Munn revealed.

Whatever you may personally think of hypnosis as a therapeutic measure, it worked for Olivia Munn.

“That was on a Friday, and by Monday I was working out every day at 6 a.m. If I missed a session, I’d double up and do it the next day. Now I feel so much stronger. I remember running up the steps one day and thinking, This is strange. I could do this a hundred times and be totally okay.”

  • Quit Smoking With Hypnosis: How It’s Done

Quit Smoking With Hypnosis: How It’s Done

Quitting smoking has long been one of the hardest things on the planet to accomplish for anyone.

Whether you choose to go cold turkey, wear a patch, or gradually quit smoking over time, it’s just not easy.

But, many say that hypnosis can take much of the difficulty out of the process to quit smoking.

According to Fox, Hypnotherapist Ed Martin says it could be as simple as one or two sessions. Martin was once hopelessly addicted to cigarettes, but says he sought out hypnotherapy.

The result of those sessions helped him to quit smoking, and he has since become a hypnotherapist so that he can help others.

“I was smoking three packs a day,” Martin said of his beaten habit. “In the first session I stopped!”

Martin says the power to quit smoking, or lose weight or control anxiety for that matter, is all in a person’s head and they have the power to control those impulses.

“Everything in life is learned, habits, behavior. Everything is learned. We learn from things that happened to us in things we’ve learned. Then our subconscious learned it and it becomes automatic,” Martin said.

Martin says it generally only takes one session to be able to quit smoking. During the session, he can pinpoint the “triggers” that make a person want to smoke.

    Then, they just quit smoking!

“We have a session and they stop smoking,” he claims.

It seems pretty amazing, but is it really true? With so many people around the country struggling to quit smoking, it seems like there should just be more to it than that!

What do you think? Have you ever quit smoking? Did you try hypnosis and did it work?
