  • Neve Campbell: No “Party of Five” Reboot

Neve Campbell says fans of Party of Five shouldn’t expect a reboot a la Fuller House. In fact, she doesn’t think the notion makes any sense at all.

“I don’t think that would make any sense,” she said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, which posted her quote online Thursday. “We’re all way older! That was a long time ago. We’ve all moved on, we all adore each other, and we’re still friends, but no, I don’t think that would make sense to do a reboot.”

Party of Five, which starred Neve Campbell, Lacey Chabert, Jennifer Love Hewitt, and more, had a huge following in the mid-1990s. It won a Golden Globe for Best TV Drama in 1996.

Even though she’s not in favor of a Party of Five reboot, Neve Campbell says she’s definitely up for another installment in the Scream film franchise. It’s uncertain where she’d find the time, however.

Neve Campbell is a busy mom to son Caspian, who was born in 2012, and she plays the role of political fundraiser Leann Harvey on House of Cards.

Are you a Neve Campbell fan? Do you agree with her that a Party of Five reboot makes no sense?

  • Robin Wright Stars in New ‘House of Cards’ Season 4 Trailer

Robin Wright Stars in New ‘House of Cards’ Season 4 Trailer

It’s almost House of Cards time, folks.

Season four of the hits Netflix original series is only a few weeks away, and the company has just dropped the official trailer.

“Frank and Claire continue their pursuit for power, battling everyone in their way, including each other,” says Netflix. Which, if you’ve seen season three, makes a lot of sense.

“You have no idea what it means to have nothing. You don’t value what we have achieved,” Frank Underwood narrates over scenes of money, fightings, blood, sex, and more. Just your typical Washington intrigue.

    Check it out below:

The fourth season hits Netflix in its entirety on March 4th.

  • ‘House Of Cards’ Promotes Season 4 Premiere Through Fake Campaign Ad

Netflix picked the perfect spot to announce the return of its hit political drama series, House of Cards.

Viewers who were tuned in to the final Republican Presidential Debate late last Tuesday were treated to what seemed like an ordinary campaign advertisement, until the smug face of Frank Underwood appeared in the last frame.

The ad features several political campaign clichés including pictures of hard work and progress accompanied by the usual lines found in conventional political rhetoric.

“It’s a new day in America,” says the narrator, enumerating promises that are all-too-familiar to the American voter during election season. He goes on to say that these “promises” will finally be fulfilled by Underwood, who is described as “a man who refuses to settle, putting people before politics.” Kevin Spacey, who brilliantly plays the conniving and mercurial Underwood in House of Cards, is seen feign-signing an important document, after which he faces the camera and says, “America, I’m only getting started.”

Netflix Uses the GOP Debate to Promote New Season of House of Cards

It is also revealed at the very end of the ad that season 4 of House of Cards will premiere on March 4th of next year. The fake URL FU2016.com is also a real website that “entices” visitors to join the movement of “Inequality, Dishonesty, and Entitlement.” It also enables visitors to create their own custom “FU” advocacy poster and save it as an image in one’s computer.

In the fourth season of House of Cards, viewers can expect to see how Frank Underwood handles his job as re-elected president of the United States without his wife, Claire – played by Robin Wright – who decides to leave him ithe season 3 finale.

House of Cards is based on a novel by British politician and author Michael Dobbs and adapted from a BBC mini-series of the same name. Its first season premiered in February 2013 and has received several accolades from various award-giving bodies including the Emmys, Webbys, Critics’ Choice, and People’s Choice to name a few.

  • Robin Wright, Chris Pine Join Cast of “Wonder Woman”

Robin Wright and Chris Pine are the latest actors to join the cast of the upcoming standalone film, Wonder Woman. Starring Gal Gadot in the leading role, Robin Wright’s role is still under wraps. Chris Pine is playing the part of Captain Steve Trevor.

Gal Gadot shared the first official photo from the film on her Instagram account this weekend.

“Almost 75 years in the making… #WonderWoman is underway,” she captioned the shot.

A photo posted by Gal Gadot (@gal_gadot) on

Robin Wright’s most recent film was The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, in which she played the role of Erika Berger. She is best known as Claire Underwood in the hit Netflix series House of Cards.

Chris Pine has recently starred as Cinderella’s prince in Into the Woods and Jack Ryan in Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit. He also appeared in Horrible Bosses, Rise of the Guardians, and a wealth of additional films.

This new Wonder Woman will be a far cry from the TV version starring Lynda Carter. Gadot’s Wonder Woman will make her debut in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, starring Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill. That hits theaters in March.

New cast members–including Robin Wright and Chris Pine–were announced this weekend.

Wonder Woman–the film–will premiere in theaters in June of 2017.

  • Robin Wright: ‘Women Do The Work, But Don’t Get Credit’

Robin Wright knows a thing or two about playing strong women. She was introduced to audiences as the Princess Buttercup in The Princess Bride, waiting to be rescued by her man. She brought the world to tears as Jenny Curran, the object of Forrest Gump’s unrequited affection. But in her Lady Macbeth-like role as Claire Underwood in House of Cards, she is a self-determined woman for our times.

Robin Wright belongs right in the current discussion of how women are treated in Hollywood.

“We need a revolution, we really do. Thank God gender equality is finally being talked about and making news, but we need a female Che Guevara,” Robin Wright told Britain’s Evening Standard magazine.

Wright’s invoking the image of Che Guevara shouldn’t be taken to ridiculous extremes. Guevara was a revolutionary who inspired many people to overthrow the oppression they lived under at the time. It is doubtful that Robin Wright was extolling the virtues of the Marxism that Guevara espoused.

“It’s our time to have wage equality once and for all, and equal rights for women in the United States of America,” Wright continued. “It is a man’s world. Most industries are a man’s world. But when you break it down, it’s women [who do the work]. But they don’t necessarily get the credit.”

Wright and other actresses have been in the vanguard of a revival in the feminist effort toward equality in wages and treatment for women across many walks of life.

“I do believe in feminism,” Robing Wright says. “But that is not to deny the biological differences. They [men] are stronger in some ways, we are stronger in some ways. We have better tactical talents than they do in some ways, and they [have better ones] in others, and that is why we are a great balance.”

But one area that Wright is assured that she does just as well as the next man is in directing. She has begun directing episodes of House of Cards, although she waited a while before trying her hand at it.

“It was in the back of my head … one day,” she explained. “But then you think, ‘Yeah, I want to, but I could never…’ And that’s just fear. And a lot of that, I think, was being a female in this industry. I think we are programmed — well, I was; I am not going to speak for the whole gender — I was programmed into thinking, ‘I am going to be lesser; they [men] are going to think that I am lesser.’”

  • Kate Mara Talks Rivalry With Sister Rooney Mara

Kate Mara has held her own as an actress just fine, thank you very much. Her turn on House of Cards made her a hot topic of conversation. Her role alongside Johnny Depp in Transcendence may not have been the best way to spend that new-found capital, but she survived.

Despite her up and coming status in Hollywood, Kate Mara still gets asked the same question over and over: Is there much of a competitive streak between her and her famous sister Rooney Mara?

Kata Mara’s sister Rooney is making news of her own lately after a lesbian scene in a film with Cate Blanchett. Sorry to say, that might overshadow the going-downtown scene Kate shared with Kevin Spacey.

But Kate Mara insists there is no competition between her and her sister. She told Glamour magazine recently:

”The other thing I’ve learned to deal with? People always want to know: ‘Is there competition between you and your sister?’ Luckily there isn’t.”

Even though her competition is not with her sister, Kate Mara does admit that Hollywood is an incredibly competitive place.

“But rivalry is an industrywide obsession – and it’s toxic. I have to remind myself that just because a person got a job I wanted, it doesn’t make me any ‘less than.’ When I’m at my strongest mentally, I don’t ever compare myself to others.”

Kate Mara explains that rivalry among actresses rears its head when you are going for a part and don’t get cast.

”As an actor 90 percent of the time, you’re getting told, ‘No, sorry, you’re not right.’ I don’t know that you ever really get used to that. I’m definitely better than I was; now if I don’t get a part, I believe it’s because that ‘no’ will open up my time for a role or experience I was meant to have.”

Regardless of what roles she gets or doesn’t get, she believes she is successful for a simple reason.

”I’ve always felt blessed to be doing what I love, and that’s why I consider myself successful.”

  • House of Cards Season 4 Is Officially a Go

House of Cards Season 4 Is Officially a Go

Considering the events of the third season – especially those in the final moments – it would be a travesty to let House of Cards end right now. Luckily, that’s not going to happen. Netflix has confirmed that the political drama will be back for a fourth season in 2016.

No hard premiere date – but I’d be willing to bet it’s in February (keeping with the trend of past releases). The fourth season will likely cover Frank Underwood’s reelection campaign and eventual elections and will stream during the real life Presidential campaign of 2016. I’m sure showrunner Beau Willimon is aware of this.

Willimon wasn’t waiting around for the official word, either.

You certainly have a while to wait. Here, enjoy our President’s painfully bad Frank Underwood impression while you’re here.

  • Kate Mara, David Oyelowo to Star in ‘Captive’

Kate Mara of House of Cards fame and Selma star David Oyelowo are set to star in an upcoming true crime thriller called Captive. The film tells the story of a man–Brian Nichols–who escapes police custody and holds a woman captive in her own home. He murdered four people.

Ashley Smith is a young mom who wrote a book about this real-life experience, called Unlikely Angel: The Untold Story Of The Atlanta Hostage Hero. Kate Mara will portray her in Captive. David Oyelowo stars as the escapee who holds her captive. Smith reportedly calmed her captor by sharing the book, A Purpose Driven Life, with him.

Smith was struggling with addiction at the time Brian Nichols held her captive, and used some of the lessons she adapted in her fight with addiction to calm him.

In addition to playing the role of reporter Zoe Barnes on House of Cards for one season, Kate Mara recently starred in sci-fi thriller Transcendence alongside Johnny Depp. She also starred in the reboot of the Fantastic Four.

Paramount has recently secured the worldwide distribution rights for Captive. This means the film is headed to the big screen. Fans can look forward to seeing Kate Mara and David Oyelowo in Captive when it premieres on September 18th.

  • Alec Baldwin Gets to Finally Be Mayor of NYC

Back in 2011, Alec Baldwin toyed with the idea of running for Mayor of New York City. Maybe toyed isn’t the right word. He thought about it enough to give interviews and discuss his philosophy on governing.

\“There are people who make a lot of money who become rich people, and then there are people who make a lot of money, but they don’t think like rich people do,” he said at the time. “No matter how much money they have, they are the same from their own upbringing. I would definitely put myself in the latter class.”

“What I think the government should be doing, who I think government should be serving, and in what way and what it should be prioritizing is a lot different than people would think.”

But Alec Baldwin never did run for mayor, at least not yet. But he gets the chance to play one on TV.

The show does not have a title yet, but Alec Baldwin will play a billionaire real estate developer named Joe Byrne who becomes Mayor of New York.

“The character is a philanthropist, a big businessman and well-known tabloid fixture in New York,” Baldwin said recently. “He’s Trump without the baggage, Bloomberg but a Democrat, George Soros if he was in real estate, a left-leaning Democrat who is also a businessman who understands the reality of how the city has to be run to create the right climate for the business community.”

The show will have a pilot to test the waters, but would be carried on HBO if picked up. Alec Baldwin feels like there is a lot of room to work in the political genre.

“We’ve seen from shows like Kevin Spacey’s House Of Cards that you can go anywhere creatively,” Baldwin said. “He throws Kate Mara’s character in front of a subway train and you think, what the hell is going on? You can create these Shakespearean character arcs, and pull the curtain back on how New York City is actually run and how political careers are made and lost in the city.”

  • House of Cards: Kevin Spacey’s Southern Accent Sounds a Little Weird, But Who Cares?

From scene one, Netflix’s original series House of Cards has been over-the-top. That’s part of its charm. Like its main character, his accent, the city of Washington DC, and American politics in general, it’s a bit absurd. And that’s ok.

Over the past few years, House of Cards has continued to entertain – even with its tendency to turn to camp. One of the big reasons it remains essential viewing is Kevin Spacey’s Frank Underwood, a truly unique and wonderful character. And one of the things that makes him so unique and wonderful is that accent.

That accent. What the hell is it?

Vox attempts to explain why Spacey’s southern drawl might sound a bit off at times. According to linguists, Spacey’s accent isn’t necessarily wrong, it’s just outdated. Pre-WWII, in fact.

    From Vox:

There are a couple of distinct features that make Underwood “sound” Southern to some people. One of these traits is his “R-lessness,” which an expert would call his “non-rhoticity.”

“This is when r at the ends of syllables is pronounced like a vowel or deleted, so that car and cars sound like cah and cahs,” Becker explained to me. You can hear it in the way Underwood says words like “uninformed” and “careless.”

This is one of the features that Thomas considers a stereotypical Southern feature. It sounds the way people think Southerners sound, but it’s actually a feature that is disappearing in Southern speech.

Also think about when Frank Underwood says the word “whip”. Is it in your head? He says “hwip”, right? He inverts the first two consonants. This is another example of Spacey taking a page from how southerners talked decades ago – but not necessarily how they talk today.

Of course, “southerner” is a very broad description that encompasses thousands of dialects. But there are certain vocal patterns that are consistent with what a regular TV audience considers “southern”. Spacey goes over-the-top, but it’s always entertaining.

Plus, you just love listening to him talk. And in the end, that’s all that matters.

House of Cards Season 3 Is Now Available, So Call in Sick or Something

Who’s ready to dive into chapter 27?

Netflix has released the third season of its original series House of Cards, and all 13 episodes are available for you to stream at your leisure. Or you can run straight through them. Call in sick to work. Not my business.

House of Cards stars Kevin Spacey as Frank Underwood, a “ruthless, cunning Congressman who will stop at nothing to conquer the halls of power in Washington DC,” and Robin Wright as his wife Claire, who is equally ruthless and cunning.

    But you already knew that.

  • House of Cards Season 3 Premieres This Friday, So You Better Catch Up

House of Cards Season 3 Premieres This Friday, So You Better Catch Up

Unlike many shows that you watch week-to-week, most House of Cards lovers probably binged that shit in a weekend. You know you did.

Because of that, it probably feels like it’s been even longer that you’ve seen an episode of House of Cards than it feels when network shows take a year off. That’s ok. You have two days to rewatch all 26 episodes before season three premieres.

Oh, you have work? And other life obligations. Of course you do. Well, lucky for you The Fine Bros have put together a nice little recap. Watch this, and you’ll be caught up on seasons one and two in fewer than ten minutes. Not bad.

Or you can just remember that Frank Underwood is one conniving son of a bitch and let that be your takeaway. I can’t wait to see what he pulls now that he’s gained a considerable amount of power.

All 13 episodes of season three hit Netflix Friday, Feb 25.

  • House of Cards Gets a Terrific Sesame Street Parody

Some people say there’s too much pork in this town. I could not agree more.

Sesame Street is smarter than your average kids show, and sometimes it likes to let mom and dad in on the fun.

Take this excellent House of Cards parody ‘House of Bricks’, starring Frank Underwolf. It’s the best retelling of the Three Little Pigs story you’ll see for some time, and the Spacey impression isn’t half bad. I mean, it doesn’t sound like Kevin Spacey but it’s a really good parody of Kevin Spacey’s Frank Underwood. “Worked like a chaaaaaaarm”

Check it out. Don’t you love it when kids shows think about the parents?

House of Cards, the actual show, will debut season three on Netflix on Friday.

  • Netflix Releases 1 of 4 New ‘House of Cards’ Teasers

Netflix Releases 1 of 4 New ‘House of Cards’ Teasers

The third season of Netflix’s acclaimed series House of Cards will debut on February 27. Last week it was released prematurely for a short time. Some people thought this was a publicity stunt from Netflix, but the company maintains it was just an accident.

Either way, Netflix has been cranking up the publicity machine for the show. Last month we got a look at the first official trailer, and over this past weekend, a new teaser was released:

Today, Netflix has another teaser out, which it calls “Traces – A Teaser Quartet – Part 1”. Here’s that.

Presumably we’ll be seeing three more of these things pretty soon.

  • Robin Wright Reunites With Fiancé Ben Foster in the City of Love

Robin Wright has her engagement ring back on her finger and is celebrating her reunion with fiancé Ben Foster in the City of Love.

The on-again-off-again couple were spotted enjoying a romantic dinner Wednesday in a back room at L’Atelier Saint-Germain de Joël Robuchon in Paris.

Ben Foster was said to be “very attentive and sweet” to Robin Wright, an onlooker told People magazine.

“They were very low-key and cute together. You could tell he was really into her,” said the source of the couple who split in November before reuniting before the Golden Globes.

Robin Wright, who is 48, and her 34-year-old fiancé also attended the Giorgio Armani Privé Haute Couture show on Tuesday together, along with Wright’s daughter Dylan Penn.

Robin Wright, who is currently starring opposite Kevin Spacey in House of Cards, is “in a very good place now” with Ben Foster, according to a source close to the actress.

“Ben is the nicest guy. She knows she has a keeper,” an insider told Us Weekly.

“There were a bunch of issues before, a lot because of distance and her schedule, but they are working on them. It is worth it to be with a guy like this who really cares about her so much.”

People‘s source also confirmed that they are really perfect for each other.

“They’re ecstatically happy,” said the source.

Despite all the good vibes going around, the couple reportedly are not in a rush to make it official just yet.

“Marriage doesn’t define her,” said the source. “That’s not to say it won’t happen, just that things as they are, are pretty great. In many ways, she and Ben couldn’t be a better match.”

For the time being, Robin Wright and Foster are just “loving spending time together.”

“Robin is in a good, healthy place,” said the source for People. “In many ways, things are coming together. Ben is a part of that, her kids are a part of that and her work has never been more rewarding.”

  • Robin Wright, Ben Foster Back Together Again

Robin Wright of House of Cards and her actor fiance Ben Foster of Lone Survivor are reportedly back together again after a brief breakup last year. Wright has even been spotted once again wearing her engagement ring.

People magazine reports the two were recently seen strolling around Paris together.

It seems the two were spotted dining in a back room at L’Atelier Saint-Germain de Joël Robuchon in the City of Love on Wednesday.

A source says Ben Foster “was very attentive and sweet” to Robin Wright.

“They were very low-key and cute together. You could tell he was really into her,” the source added.

The two also attended the Giorgio Armani Privé Haute Couture show on Tuesday.

A second source told People that Ben Foster and Robin Wright “are in a very good place now.”

    “They’re ecstatically happy.”

Robin Wright has worn her engagement ring since the Golden Globes, but she apparently isn’t in a big hurry to get married.

“Marriage doesn’t define her,” the source adds. “That’s not to say it won’t happen, just that things as they are, are pretty great. In many ways, she and Ben couldn’t be a better match.”

Fortunately Robin Wright doesn’t feel compelled to think of tying the knot just because ex-husband Sean Penn may be thinking of doing so with Charlize Theron. Instead Wright seems very much her own person, and without the need of getting married to make her whole.

“Robin is in a good, healthy place,” the source shares. “In many ways, things are coming together. Ben is a part of that, her kids are a part of that and her work has never been more rewarding.”

Congrats to Robin Wright and Ben Foster on their reconciliation. And kudos to Wright for not rushing into anything, despite what her ex might be thinking of doing.

Uzo Aduba has already taken home a big award for her role as Crazy Eyes on the Netflix original series – Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series at the Golden Globes last year.

Netflix’s other high-profile original House of Cards was also nominated multiple times at this year’s SAG awards. The show received a nod for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series, but lost out to the cast of Downton Abbey.

However, Kevin Spacey did win in his category – Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series. He beat Steve Buscemi, Peter Dinklage, Woody Harrelson, and Matthew McConaughey.

  • Kristin Chenoweth Subtly Disses Ex-Boyfriend Dana Brunetti on Twitter and He Tweets Back

Kristin Chenoweth made a subtle diss Sunday against her ex-boyfriend Dana Brunetti on Twitter, and he just couldn’t resist the urge to respond to her tweet.

The 46-year-old actress tweeted her satisfaction that the Showtime series The Affair and star Ruth Wilson beat out HBO’s House of Cards — the show Brunetti produces — for Best Drama at the 2014 Golden Globe Awards.

“So happy The Affair won tonight. #deserving love Ruth Wilson xo,” tweeted the The Opposite Sex actress.

Brunetti quickly understood her little passive-aggressive barb and retweeted her message, adding a simple word that says so much.

“Ha,” he added to the retweet.

Chenoweth and Brunetti broke up in November after dating for a year, and It must have stung a bit for the 46-year-old Wicked actress when her ex showed up on the Golden Globes red carpet with his reported new girl, 28-year-old Arrow actress Katie Cassidy.

“Katie is really falling hard for Dana and the feeling is mutual,” a source told E! Online. “She hasn’t felt this way about a man in some time. He just gets her and their time together is always filled with laughter. They’ve been friends for a long time before they got intimate and that’s the main reason why it’s working out so well.”

Meanwhile, Chenoweth has been busy preparing for some upcoming films, including The Boy Next Door with Jennifer Lopez and Hard Sell with Skyler Gisondo.

  • Golden Globe Nominations See Netflix and Amazon Battling It Out for the First Time

Golden Globe Nominations See Netflix and Amazon Battling It Out for the First Time

The nominations for the Golden Globe Awards – where lovers of the big and the small screen alike can see their favorite stars/productions honored – are here. In an early morning ceremony, Kate Beckinsale, Peter Krause, Paula Patton, and Jeremy Piven announced who will vie for the coveted statutes next month.

As has been the case with other award shows over the past couple of years, Netflix is making a push for press accolades. And for the first time, Amazon is getting in on the fun.

House of Cards was nominated for three awards, including Best Television Series (Drama). Robin Wright was nominated in the Best Lead Actress category for her role as Claire Underwood. As expected, Kevin Spacey was also nominated in the Lead Actor category.

Orange Is The New Black was also invited to the party, nabbing a few nominations. Taylor Schilling was given the nod in the Best Lead Actress (Comedy of Musical) category, and Uzo Aduba was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Crazy Eyes on the popular Netflix original.

But what’s really interesting is the Best Television Series (Comedy of Musical) category where, for the first time, Netflix and Amazon are going up against one another for a Golden Globe. In the red corner, Netflix’s Orange Is The New Black. And in the other corner, Amazon Studios’ Transparent.

Transparent’s Jeffrey Tambor was also nominated for Best Actor in a Television Series (Comedy or Musical).

The Hollywood Foreign Press has given Amazon some ammo here in its fight for legitimacy. Tune in on January 11, 2015, to see if the studio can take one home.
