  • ATM $37,000: A Man’s Get Rich & Lose it Quick Scheme

A Maine news website tells us how a homeless man in South Portland, Maine– with an ATM card and 140 dollars in his account –somehow found a way to make a quick profit and had his hands on $37,000 all for five minutes.

As he maneuvered the ATM to do his bidding, the woman waiting behind him got impatient suspicious and called the police. As the police rolled up, he was seen shoveling copious amounts of greenbacks into a shopping bag in sure efforts not to look completely like a bank robber.

The unnamed man started with withdrawing $140, which he apparently actually did have in his account– but something signaled him to keep going. And keep going he did until he reached up to $37,000. There is a possibility that he might have gotten more if the lady behind him was not so impatient that she called the police about his dawdling.

The bank, for obvious reasons, will not detail what made this glitch occur and the machine was put down all day Friday. They did not press charges on the man, although it was pretty obvious that a little finagling was used to receive the large amount of funds. The police have also divulged that they have dealt with this man before, but they decided to just promptly return the money and leave it at that.

A bank ATM can hold up to $200,000. It makes one wonder if the kinda-a-bank robber-but-not guy knew this and was banking on signing a new lease on life that early Thursday morning.

  • Terrence Jones Arrested For Stomping On Homeless Man

It is easy for NBA players to draw criticism. It is even easier when they do things like stomp of sleeping homeless people.

Terrence Jones, who currently plays for the Houston Rockets, was arrested last night in Portland, OR for assaulting a homeless man sleeping in a doorway. Reportedly, Jones and his friends were leaving a nightclub when a police officer observed Jones first yelling at, and then stomping on the man’s leg.

Jones, who struggled to find playing time last season and spent time in the NBA’s developmental league, was arrested around 2 a.m., but was later released on his own recognizance.

Jones was a major high school star in Portland, his hometown. He lead Jefferson High School to three straight state championships and drew attention from every major collegiate program. He originally committed to the university of Washington, but later decommitted in order to play at the University of Kectucky. While at UK he played a hand in capturing the 2012 National Championship.

Jones has had less success since being drafted 18th overall by the Houston Rockets after declaring for the NBA draft following his sophomore year. As mentioned earlier, he spent a large chunk of last season in the D-league and played in only 19 regular season games.

Stomping of defenseless, homeless men might not affect his play, but it will definitely affect his image. Often, that is enough to cause a franchise to sever ties with a player, especially one that is not a major contributer. No official word has come from the Rockets just yet, but they cannot be happy with a player that is supposed to be a major part of their future performing such a disgusting act.

  • Miami Man Shot After Eating the Face of a Homeless Man

A Miami man was shot to death by police after they witnessed him eating the face off of a man on the MacArthur Causeway off ramp Saturday. The incident is being reported by the Miami Herald, who posted pictures of the incident as it happened, in broad daylight.

According to the police report, a road ranger saw a naked man chewing on the face of another man and told him to back away. Another woman saw what was happening and alerted a police officer.

The officer approached and told the man to back away. The naked man continued to assault the unconscious man, so the police officer opened fire. The man was not fazed by being shot, so the officer continued to unload his weapon. Witnesses say six shots were fired.

The scene took place just below The Miami Herald Building. The newspaper captured the incident when reporters were able to get clear shots from the building above. It was also recorded on the buildings video surveillance. Police have requested those tapes.

Police believe that the victim was a homeless man and the perpetrator may have been suffering from “cocaine psychosis”, a condition caused by cocaine overdose. That may be an explanation to the reason the man was naked, as the condition causes the person to suffer from extreme fever. And it also may explain why he did not stop after being shot.

It could also be that he is the first victim of the zombie apocalypse, and he was just trying to get to those juicy brains.

Sorry, I shouldn’t joke about that.
